Here's a polished bar review you can use or post online:…read more Whiskey Business is hands down one of my favorite spots. The service is outstanding from the moment you walk in--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. The staff clearly knows their menu and is always happy to offer great recommendations, whether you're in the mood for a classic pour or something new. The food is just as impressive. Everything is well-prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. It's the kind of place where the food easily stands on its own, not just "good for a bar," but legitimately excellent. Between the top-tier service, fantastic food, and relaxed yet energetic atmosphere, Whiskey Business consistently delivers a great experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place that gets everything right.

The server got the togo order for me and brought it to the door since I had the kids. I appreciate that. Now for the food, this was very limited sample so don't let it prevent you from trying the establishment. It looked fun inside and there was a patio outside for dining and hanging out. DYNAMITE CHICKEN ROLLS $12.65 Egg Rolls Stuffed With Grilled Chicken, Spicy Black Beans and Corn. Served with Southwest Ranch. These were dry and not spicy at all. There were about 3 beans and pieces of corn per half eggroll. If the ranch was inside the eggroll, I couldn't tell. Only the space I chose made it spicy at all. It came with a small pile of shredded lettuce and again several beans and pieces of corn. ISLANDER BURGER $17.25 Premium Ground Beef, Grilled Pineapple, Tropical Rum Glaze, Cheddar, Mayo on a Toasted Bun Good concept, plenty of pineapple and mayo but not much flavor. I don't know if the meat is seasoned but it sure didn't seem like it. Not much bourbon glaze or flavor there either. Cole slaw side was creamy and a good portion size.

Whenever I'm up in this area looking for a place to grab a meal, I always forget about Main Event,…read morea pub & grill on 96th Street not to be confused with 82nd Street's Main Event Entertainment complex. Today, I finally drove down this way BEFORE making a decision about having a late lunch and decided to give the place a try. Main Event sits in a rather long strip center that also houses a Dunkin Donuts, Rita's Frozen Ices, and most recently added a new spot for Sweetie's Gourmet Treats. There's accessible parking almost directly in front of Main Event and a curb cut fairly close. The front door is a glass, 2-sided door that is fairly maneuverable from a wheelchair. You then have a bar area to the right with some more traditional tables toward the back. The only place that a person in a wheelchair could really dine here would be toward the back. There's also a gaming section to the left and a stage area for live music also toward the left. They are known for offering pay-per-view type events along with NFL Ticket games and other sporting events. I arrived about 2pm, well after the traditional lunch hour but it didn't seem to throw them off. Eryn, whom I believe was also working the bar, saw me quickly and visited my table with a friendly demeanor. I always feel weird sitting away from most customers, but most bars are not wheelchair friendly and, in all honesty, I'm not there to socialize. They have a fairly extensive menu, though it's definitely more of your usual pub & grill type sandwiches. I was tempted to try a breaded tenderloin on behalf of fellow Yelper Rick G., but opted for my usual burger. It comes with chips for $7 - you can upgrade to fries for another $1.50. I also ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. The ambience? It's a bar. Several people have mentioned the smoking. I have to be honest. Even as a non-smoker, I didn't even notice it. However, even recent reviews mention it's a smoking bar. So, I'll trust that's correct and advise you to act accordingly. I will note that probably only a dozen customers were in there at the time I visited - that may have made it more tolerable. There was background music that was audible but not overwhelming, while widescreen televisions were playing sporting events in the silence. I like the occasionally bar atmosphere and, quite honestly, I found it rather enjoyable. I've seen some reviews call this a "dive" bar. I honestly wouldn't call it a dive, though it's certainly a neighborhood bar. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to dine here, though I guess on this occasion I actually did. The burger was delivered as ordered and was a generous sized slab o' beef. It was cooked close to medium, not quite my preference, but the toasted bun made everything alright. I stuck with chips and enjoyed them quite a bit. The meal was definitely a solid value. My iced tea was refilled without my having to ask and I was given room to linger. While there's typically a modest delay when you dine at a table in a pub setting, Eryn was friendly and welcoming and I never felt forgotten. While it seemed like everyone else was drinking, I never felt out of place having a fairly traditional meal. Overall, this really worked for me. As a non-smoker, I wasn't bothered by the atmosphere but that could change with a bigger crowd. While seating options for a wheelchair are modestly limited and a bigger crowd may impact navigation, this is certainly an easily workable lunch option and I found those present to be pretty friendly to this stranger. This was what I was in the mood for and both Eryn and Main Event delivered a winning experience for me. If in the area, I'll definitely go back.

Sorry no pic of those as we were all hungry and dug right in. These were good. Not the best I've had, but I'm originally from a coastal state, so tough bar to reach. One in our party had the fish and chips. She said they were good, nice and hot. Breading was a little thick, but tasty. Another in our party had the baja shrimp tacos along with the jalapeño creamed corn. Said both were very good. I tasted the creamed corn and it was excellent Finally I had the Wolfpack Supreme pizza. Very tasty, fresh toppings and very crispy crust. Could have used just a bit more sauce for my taste, but was still excellent. Parking was easy and the view was worth the trip. Staff was able to find us a table for 10 people in the corner even though they don't take reservations. Since it was a rainy night and we were placed in a corner which normally would be great views, it was still very easy to talk to each other and interact. As we gathered and trickled in, our waitress was very attentive to our food and drink needs and did a great job. Everyone around me had orders that turned out wonderful. My beer, chicken wings with dry rub with hot honey and blue cheese dips was yummy. My Fiesta Lime Smothered chicken was also very tasty. Better than I expected. Couldn't finish it so I had a good lunch the next day. My wife enjoyed her Cobb salad. Firehouse Cheese sticks were excellent even though I am almost certain they are NOT good for you. This is a regular place for us and the food is consistently good across their restaurants I've been to in the last couple of years.

Top Golf is fun. That's the bottom line. If you want to get a small to medium size crew of people…read moreand simply have a good time, you should add Top Golf to your menu of activities. The greatest thing about Top Golf, in my humble opinion, is that it is so accessible for people who don't golf. I visited before I took up the game of golf, and I've been back several times since I became a scratch (nope, scratch that!) double-par golfer (LOL) and I've had fun every time I've been. And even though I've improved my golf swing, a friend or family member (my sister, Stacy, I'm talking to you!) would crush me at times on the score board with absolutely zero golf experience. Of course, this depends on the game you choose. There are several games with various rules that can either widen or narrow the experience gap. My favorite is the original Top Golf game where you aim for the colored circles. Other games, like Block Party (or maybe "bloc" party) give points for hitting it literally anywhere. I had my best shot of the day to the back net, and scored a fraction of the points an opponent scored for hitting it short and letting it roll. Oh well, what can you do?! The food is pretty good here. And they offer a full bar because what's golf without a strong drink to calm your nerves! I've had the flat bread pizza. Actually, after we finished our round, we went to the restaurant/bar and watched IU smack Oregon so hard it looked like DeChambeau on a Par 5 (mashed potatoes!). Oregon wished they had a mulligan, for sure! I digress. At the bar, I ordered the donut holes and the hot honey pepperoni flatbread pizza. That hot honey was great! The donut holes are good and come with two syringes filled with chocolate or Bavarian cream. There is also a raspberry option, and you can get all three for an extra charge. They give you a lot of little donut balls! Service is pretty good at Top Golf. You can tell they are busy, but the servers do a great job to make it to all the bays. And even when the bar was hopping during the game, our guy kept checking in regularly. The atmosphere is comfortable and chill. They know you are there to relax and unwind and maybe take out a little stress relief on their tiny, dimpled balls. The staff gets you checked in early, answers any questions you may have and will even teach you how to use the ceiling heaters (ours did!). Yes, they have heaters! Each bay has three large heaters in the ceiling you can control independently, so even in the winter, you can swing away. Just no Happy Gilmore approaches! Have fun out there!

It has been over ten years since my original review of Fort Ben Pub, a locally owned pub and grill…read moretype establishment located in the Fort Ben area in the same strip center that includes Moo & Lou's Ice Cream and Phaya Thai. There's a wheelchair ramp in the middle of the building - I'll be honest, I don't quite trust it as I've noticed people in this parking area tend to block it without noticing it. There's also easy access from a ramp at the end of the building. Lawrence has done quite a bit to improve their curb cuts in this area, an area that has grown massively since my last review including 2-3 apartment buildings, a library branch, and an improved civic plaza. Fort Ben Pub itself is pretty accessible, though it becomes less so when it's packed (for example, my most recent visit was on a Friday karaoke night and accessibility was definitely more limited). There's two glass doors going inside the pub and, yes, they do offer a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. As you enter, you arrive in a large dining area with a beautiful bar to the right. The restaurant is decorated in warm woods with a few televisions of varying sizes and, on this evening, background music playing. On this visit, I was with a festival after-party that was placed off the main area in a smaller area that had two pool tables along with a variety of food/appetizers, etc. It's a cozy room that gave me a chance to check out the rest of the building. I did see the restrooms, which I would definitely not consider accessible - plan accordingly. I could possibly get in the door of the men's restroom, but it was quite tight and I have a smaller chair. This is a beloved place for a friend of mine who lives nearby and within walking distance. They treat her well. She was there during this visit, and I honestly just smiled at their clear affection for her (it's mutual). I love places that become community, and knowing this makes me want to return. That said, my accessibility concerns do somewhat limit my options. Fort Ben Pub does offer space for private events/groups and does catering. They have pool tables, Putt Putt live, Mega Touch, and Golden Tee and most of the sports network channels. While I'd tried both their tenderloin and burger in the past, I had a variety of items this time around due to the after-party, though not everything it seems was on the menu (or I'm just not recognizing it). As I noted previously and my friend also proves, the employees are super friendly and helpful. There are definitely times when it gets busy, though it's also pretty easy to come here during slower times. This particular visit was the first time I'd experienced accessibility issues. There's an awful lot to love here. I have to say that while I wasn't in the room with karaoke, the people were having a blast with such sincere enthusiasm that I was almost in awe. I've done karaoke one time in my life, and I don't think there's enough alcohol in the world to fuel another attempt. I also know from being close to the folks at Moo & Lou that these businesses watch out for each other - which I really like as it's a nice little safety factor. In the end, my star rating isn't changing but my appreciation for Fort Ben Pub has grown. This visit made me want to return in the near future, and it made me grateful for those places where you can get so comfortable that it feels like the people become part of your village. That's Fort Ben Pub.
