Located in a hotel lobby right across from Music City Center. Came by for some coffee and a yogurt parfait which were both fine, nothing to write home about. They do have a variety of snacks and pastries, macarons too, that I did not try. Service was quick and as expected. There is some seating in the hotel lobby. There is a seating area inside as well but it looked like it was more for those ordering actual breakfast/buffet.

Big fan of stomping grounds. I ate there several times during my stay. From breakfast, to the incredible burgers (chef Mary!) to snacks and gelato, this is the place to be. I want to highlight the grab and go chia pudding with mango and coconut. YUM. The food is amazing and while some hotel restaurants are sub-par, I would visit stomping grounds without staying at the JW Marriott Nashville.

Pros: Nice open space Pretty ambiance Located downtown in the JW Marriott (convenience for tourists) Cons: No free parking, street is best option nearby Long wait (there were two other tables while we were there on a Sunday at noon) Food is mid Food & drink: I asked for a vanilla latte, which wasn't on any menu (no coffee was) and it was overly sweet. My bad for asking for something not on menu. Didn't know the price, ended up being $7. The breakfast burrito was $18 - overall flavor was fine but nothing stuck out minus that it looked and tasted like velveeta was melted over it. I LOVE cheese and this tasted cheap, especially for an $18 breakfast dish with no sides, unless you count the avo. Overall, nice place but wildly expensive for what it is. I wouldn't go back as there are so many delicious and more affordable spots around.

This was our first date spot over four years ago, and I'm just super glad to say that despite the upgrade in seating and overall look from the restaurant since we last visited, the service was still stellar. The food tasted great (I strongly suggest the shrimp & grits. Extremely delicious, and a perfect southern brunch meal). Bottomless mimosas (C'mon, can't go wrong there), and the way the staff went out of their way to make sure my wife (who was celebrating her birthday) felt loved and appreciated, really took the cake (Pun intended)! Bravo, Stompin' Grounds, we won't wait so long to come back.

The service here was exceptional! Everyone was kind and the valet went smooth. The restaurant was very clean. Four stars due to the lackluster weekend brunch menu. It needs at least a pancake or French toast dish.

When checking in for a weekend stay at the JW Marriot, we were given breakfast vouchers for Stomping Grounds since the Executive Lounge is not open on the weekend. The vouchers said they were for a continental breakfast, which turned out to be for their nice breakfast buffet. The bountiful buffet features fresh fruit, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, a choice of breads, yogurt, and sweet rolls as well as other items. It also included coffee or tea. If you don't have a voucher, the charge for the buffet is around $27 per person or you can order off the menu. The buffet provided a satisfying start to the day so we were not hungry until dinner. Our serve on both days was Emily who was very efficient and pleasant. She was even able to remember the type of tea my husband drank and that I liked my coffee with cream. Sure, it is not the cheapest breakfast in Nashville, but for a hotel such as the JW Marriott, the price is average. The bright and airy dining area also makes for a pleasant experience. The only thing that I might suggest for the buffet is to move the toasters for the bagels and breads to the end which would help the line to flow better when there are several people in line.

Ehhhhh, underwhelmed. The service was very slow. The food was mid. Not impressed by this place. Above average prices for no reason. Just convenient because it's in the hotel and it was pouring rain. The flatbread was good though.

Music City Bento with Chicken Katsu, Roasted Seasonal Vegetable, Farro, Roll

I came to the restaurant for lunch and liked it! I had the Music City Bento with Chicken Katsu, Roasted Seasonal Vegetable, Farro, roll and cornbread. I couldn't decide between the roll and cornbread and the waiter was nice enough to bring me both (the cornbread was the better choice). I absolutely loved the Chicken Katsu. The breading was crispy, the chicken was juicy, and the sauce had just the right amount of sweetness to perfectly round out the dish. I thought the farro was well cooked and I liked the sauce and vegetables it came with. The roasted vegetables were good but nothing special. I really liked the cornbread which was moist and on the sweeter side, and thought it was much better than the roll. I was pretty full from all that and felt it was very reasonably priced for what I got. My date had the chicken and avocado sandwich which he thought was juicy and well made. My only qualms about this place is that parking is a bit challenging. The lot across the street is expensive, but thankfully we found some affordable street parking a block away. I also tried calling before coming so I could ask about the parking situation but no one picked up a which was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the food here, especially the Chicken Katsu and would consider coming back just to have that again.

The service was great, the food (and breakfast buffet) was one of the best (quality wise) that I've had in a long time. I'm a Nashville Native who travels often, and I'm glad to say that JW's breakfast at The Stompin Ground was great quality & delicious! The ambiance is the same at any hotel restaurant.

Meh. If you're a Marriott Platinum member or higher, you can have the brunch buffet here for free when you stay here on weekends. In which case, it's fine for being free. The atmosphere and decor are great, there is fresh fruit (I liked that there were raspberries and pineapple) and Oui yogurt, and pretty good cinnamon roll bread pudding. However, the regular price for adults is $24 - a total rip off. At that price, I'd expect real scrambled eggs. But instead, there were powdered eggs, limp bacon, and biscuits with tasteless gravy. Side note - the pastry case I photographed are part of the takeaway coffee counter, not part of the buffet. Lastly, We arrived at 10:30 as a party of two. We were made to wait 10-15 minutes despite there being many open tables available. So, if your meal is complimentary, go ahead and have breakfast here. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

I broke my own cardinal rule of never eating at the hotel restaurant. I had been eating breakfast there so I figured dinner should be fine but I was wrong. My pulled pork sliders were possibly the worst thing I'd ever had. It was almost as if what they put on my plate was the leftover burnt scraps. The sweet potato fries were cold and over salted. My mother's dish came out over cooked and too tough to chew or even cut. She reordered wings. She checked multiple times with the waitress about how they were prepared and the sauce on them. Well the waitress gave us wrong information. It was a sauce that my mother specifically said she doesn't like and was assured it was not. She didn't eat that either. My sister had a poke bowl and she was very happy with it. At least one person was satisfied from their meal. Management was good though. She came over, offered us all gelato, and took the bad meals off of our check. Was a bit of a bummer as it was the last restaurant we ate at on our vacation. The waitress told us this was a new menu they were testing out and that could have caused the issues... I don't know.

This is a restaurant inside the Nashville JW Marriott. As far as hotel dining goes, Stompin Grounds is a pleasant surprise. Open kitchen, modern looking space. The service was quick and friendly. The Hot Nashville Caesar Salad is great. I added shrimp and it was nicely cooked.

The small signage made it a little difficult to find inside the Marriott (see pictures), but from the moment we walked in, heard the live piano player and saw the dining area - we knew this would be a great experience. We started off by sharing orders of Lobster Bisque (see picture) and Burrata with Toast (see pictures). We really enjoyed both of them - the Lobster Bisque was so creamy and smooth and the Burrata was cool, fresh and clean. They were a great combination to start our dinner experience and I would recommend both of them. Since it was a Friday during lent, my wife opted for the BBQ Shrimp Pasta (see picture) and I went with the Daily Fish Special on Blue Corn Grits (see picture).
