The small signage made it a little difficult to find inside the Marriott (see pictures), but from the moment we walked in, heard the live piano player and saw the dining area - we knew this would be a great experience. We started off by sharing orders of Lobster Bisque (see picture) and Burrata with Toast (see pictures). We really enjoyed both of them - the Lobster Bisque was so creamy and smooth and the Burrata was cool, fresh and clean. They were a great combination to start our dinner experience and I would recommend both of them. Since it was a Friday during lent, my wife opted for the BBQ Shrimp Pasta (see picture) and I went with the Daily Fish Special on Blue Corn Grits (see picture). As we always do when we go out, we shared our plates and really enjoyed both of them. The BBQ Shrimp Pasta was rich, buttery and smooth and the Fish Special was a tasty white, flaky and blackened fish served on a bed of rich, creamy blue corn grits. Here again, both are highly recommended. While it is one of your more expensive area stops for dinner, you will appreciate the food quality and presentation at Gannons Nashville for your next special occasion. What a wonderful dining experience! The restaurant is beautiful. Our servers were great. We challenged them to get us out by 7pm because we had to get to a concert. They made it happen. Really pretty building being an old bank. We walked by and saw a happy hour special for $2 oysters and had to try it. We ended up ordering a dozen and also ordered the bread pudding. We ate at Gannon's on November 5, 2025. It's a lively spot, and the place was packed when we arrived for our 7 PM reservation, but service was still fast and friendly. We were greeted right away and enjoyed cocktails before our meal. My wife had the lobster bisque, and I enjoyed the turtle soup to start. We decided to split the double-cut pork chop--and that was definitely the right call. It was absolutely massive, and the flavors were great. The food overall was really well done. Very disappointed because my husband and I graced Nashville to support my sister's concert and haven't eaten all day. We searched all over to find a wonderful dinner restaurant, traveled in the snow to dine with Gannons, only to find out they closed the kitchen a full two hours early due to weather conditions. Popped in without a reservation and was given a table. The staff were nice and didn't waste time on their kindness. Big plus. I ordered the Risotto to start off with and it was cooked perfectly with good flavor. I landed on ordering the 14 oz NY strip cooked medium rare. It was cooked as ordered with mushrooms on top. The steak was firm on the exterior, but very soft and tender in the center. The small ring of pink was on the edge, but primarily red in the center just the way I like it. We had an decent experience here. We were looking for a place to have dinner before seeing a show at the TPAC, and this could not have been more convenient. I was looking around and this place had great reviews, with an unbeatable location. The food was alright, nothing really impressed us. We got a variety of appetizers and entrees, from the prime rib, to the chicken piccata, to the timpano di manzo, as well as empanadas, oysters, and a salad. Of all of those, the empanada appetizer was our favorite, but everything else wasn't really anything to write home about. The inside is very swanky, we loved the atmosphere. Saw a reel on Instagram that Gannons has the best espresso martini in Nashville. My bestie and I had to go and see for ourselves! The vibe is giving, "roaring 20's!" There is a live band that performed throughout our meal, it was a bit loud so I felt like I was yelling across the table. Our meal started with a charcuterie board that while delicious would have been better with a variety of crackers or cheese knives. Our meal was delicious, the filet mignon was cooked perfectly with roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. One of the specials was brussel sprouts which I had to try, they were amazing! Ironically our servers name was Max, which is my best friends husbands name! He was very nice and offered his suggestions when reading the specials and taking our orders. Some people are dresssd up and others are dressed casually. The turtle soup was like a chili bean soup type thing. It was ok but not something I'd come back for. The empanadas are worth writing g home about if you're thinking about it and you like duck and you like empanadas, you cannot go wrong with this app I was delighted to learn the meatballs, had no pork in them, but they were a little dry inside because of that. The portion was huge. The eggplant appetizer had some kick to it and some seafood, and it was a surprising delight, drenched in cheese if you like either or both of those things do not pass on it. Gannons was great-shame on me for not realizing that they were actually in a hotel. I think maybe that contributed to a little bit of my personal experience, and I was a single diner and I know servers kind of shy away from that. Though my server was actually very nice and very thorough, I felt a little rushed through the whole process. I think I wasn't even there an hour. Regardless, I had a beautiful lobster bisque. I had a beautiful cocktail that I can't remember the name of, but it was great, I had a great glass of Zinfandel, and I had a fabulous prime rib that I loved around, bringing it back home on the plane because I got only like 1/4 of it. Order a sub for the potato or vege side- took one bite and that was a wrap! I would highly recommend this place, but definitely let them know that you want to take your time and just chill. I got the meatballs as an appetizer and the pork chop as my entree. The meatballs were ok. They were too undercooked and gamy for me. The pork chop on the other hand was amazing. Truly enjoyed this restaurant/bar. Looked for a steak place without it being over-the-top expensive off Broadway and we found Gannons. And within a Courtyard Marriott, who would have know. Absolutely beautiful inside and kind of reminiscent of the roaring 20s with the structure and decor inside. We said all it needed is high back booths. It isn't a far walk from Broadway and gave us a lovely reprieve of the busyness and loudness from all the bars etcetera which was great before heading back out. When we arrived at around 6:00 it wasn't crowded and we were brought to a table quickly. As we waited for our waiter, we were treated to a beautiful pianist playing nice tunes to accompany our dinner. Our waiter attended to us quickly and was polite and helpful. We ordered drinks, wine and a Lemon Drip Martini. I must say that my LDM was fabulous tasting and only $12. It seemed that the restaurant hosted large groups. As we were told lots of people from conventions drop in to eat. The restaurant can hold quite a few guests noted by all the tables and booths. We ordered a side salad which was beautiful and filled with great veggies. Then our entree according to our waiter's recommendation which was the prime rib. Something we could share and we were NOT disappointed. The portion split filled us up completely and fully. We did pay a split charge but we also received our own portion of delicious potatoes. On the menu the meal said potato for a side which I took to mean a baked potato. lol. However it was diced potatoes cooked to perfection with great flavor! Unfortunately they do not serve bread or rolls with your meal but our server kindly brought us a plate of crostinis which actually was perfect. I found this place on Yelp and found it after a short walk. I was confused because it was in the Courtyard hotel and I've never had a great meal in Courtyard before. Fortunately, this place had it's own entrance and was very nice. There was a piano player there creating a nice ambiance. I ordered a salad that had fancy greens with berries, crushed nuts and feta cheese. I also ordered the pork chop with small peach pieces and a peach glaze with an order of truffle fries. These truffle fried were crinkle cut and had some parmesan cheese on it. Had a few drinks also, one being the "titter" which was good. I had excellent service here including everyone that help me: hostess, waiter, bus boy and manager. The price point was high but good good and great service. Five stars! read more

Valet was a bit pricey; however, my husband was able to find street parking near the restaurant that's was inexpensive and a very short walk (he dropped me off at the restaurant so I didn't have to walk ;) ). It's not a large restaurant but the vibe was very demure, very classy (iykyk). Our waiter Max was great, my husband is vegan so he made sure he was accommodated. I ordered the Oyster Rockefeller, which was one of the best I have ever had, very delish. My entree I had the prime rib. It was a little more fatty than I like but it was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered mushrooms and they gave him a choice bt a tomato base pasta or olive oil. He chose the olive oil and it was packed with yummy veggies and artichokes. He really enjoyed it. Service here is outstanding. The wait staff was very attentive. The Sommelier was very helpful and kind. For those reasons alone I would go back. The restaurant has high ceilings and a New York City vibe. However, it is quite noisy and they have a live band so it makes it difficult to talk to everyone at the table. Bar drinks were excellent. Appetizers, we got the meatballs and tuna tartare. The meatballs are quite large and the fellas liked them more than I did. They were smoky flavored and just not my favorite. The tuna was very fresh and I could have made that my meal. A couple of us had the Prime rib which is what they are known for. Very tasty. Not sure I would recommend the Chicken Piccata but the filet was outstanding. I would recommend this spot but not sure it's worthy of a perfect score. read more

Gannon's is an Art Deco jewel of a steakhouse nestled in the heart of the city's old financial district, close to but still far enough away from the craziness of lower Broadway and the high prices of the Gulch. It is a lovely setting, where the old lobby and office area of a bank building has been transformed into an intimate, human scale that has a piano bar at the far end. Gannon's has a broad menu but beef is really king. I have had the NY strip with the Olivia sauce (really rich and complements the steak perfectly and the prime rib, a quite generous cut to say the least and cooked perfectly but it needed a kick of flavor or perhaps stronger horseradish sauce. The apps are great, the charcuterie board is really impressive. The typical range of sides, with the charred Brussels Sprouts the best. What sets the place apart is the service, very friendly and knowledgeable. Same for the cocktails, well balanced and not overpriced. The wine list is well curated, and reasonable too. Here is where I place Gannon's a cut above the better known high flying steakhouses of the Gulch. Food, booze, and service are comparable--at a much more reasonable price point. And I have always enjoyed myself and never felt I was in a totally stuffy or nouveau riche setting. read more

Went on a Sunday night near Christmas. Made a reservation online and were seated immediately. The restaurant filled up and was lively by the time we left about 7:20. We were there for our anniversary. Had two cocktails each, oysters were the best I have ever had. Duck empanada had the best cilantro based sauce I have ever had. The pork chop was absolutely outstanding of this world. It takes a while to cook, but they said they could cut that time down by butterflying it. I said okay and asked for it to be cooked medium well. It was so juicy and flavorful! And then the white wine braised beef in the puff pastry was absolutely incredible as well. Strawberry cheesecake rounded out the meal expertly. Even considered going back the next night since we are from out of town. Will come back here for sure. read more

Have been to Gannon's multiple times, and have NEVER been disappointed! This is our family's go-to spot for celebrations of any kind. The ambiance is awesome, restaurant is beautiful inside, and we always have fantastic servers. The pork chop is a must order. Tons of food so don't be afraid to split it! Be sure to order it whenever you sit down because that massive piece of meat takes 30-45 minutes to cook. Always ask about their specials. I debated on whether I'd post this. I went into this restaurant to have cocktail and small bite before our dinner reservation at another restaurant. Gannons came highly recommended by a trusted friend. The restaurant itself is beautiful so that in itself had me excited to experience what they had to offer. We situated ourselves at the end of the bar. We waited for about 8-10 minutes while the bartender spoke with other patrons and attempted to get the Tennessee game on the middle TV. Never even looked our way to let us know he'd be with us. Then he comes over (no introduction) and says "Do you know wha you're getting?"... So after we get the menu he goes back over to speak with other patrons for several minutes. (Should've left then) When he made his way back over to us, he took the cocktail order. As he was mixing, he splashed me in the face while shaking the shaker. I grabbed a napkin and whipped my face. To which he then asked if he splashed me. I told him he had in fact splashed me. He never apologized; continued making the cocktail. I got up to go to the powder room to see if my sweater had been splashed and gather myself. When I went back to my seat, Charlsie, a manager walked by and I explained to her all of this. She did comp the cocktails (I was too upset to drink mine) I appreciate her for apologizing but still felt as though the bartender dropped the ball. An opulent, boisterous, and most delicious experience! Walking in filled me with awe at the beauty of this well appointed space that I would describe as contemporary inspired heavily by art deco. Everything from the tin ceiling to the floor to ceiling windows, and the tall columns begs to whisk you away to another place and time. The food and service are amazing, and the offerings can satisfy most palates. I had a chicken dish which on menu appeared simple, and came with a surprisingly generous portion. I didn't think I would finish it all, but ultimately have to count this on the clean plate club. Perfectly cooked, juicy and tender, well seasoned, and by no means plain or simple. My bf and I was seeing a show at TPAC and walked over to Gannons afterwards. Our reservation was for 5:30pm, but they were able to get us in at 5pm. The entire staff was amazing. Our waiter Mark went over and beyond to make sure our visit was amazing. Please ask for him if you go. The main star of our meal was the pork chop with a peach glaze. Just when I thought Urban Grub and Perry's had the best pork chop in town. The pork chop was 20 out of 10. It was prepared perfect with its juices still in tact. The peach glaze was an added bonus.
