I ordered our Caesarstone quartz countertops through the cabinet shop, and they have the stone fabricated and installed by Stone Etc. The actual Caesarstone quartz is beautiful. I love our countertops, they came out fantastic. However, working with Stone Etc. was the most inefficient and stressful part of our kitchen remodel. All other work was hired by our General Contractor, and so he was able to schedule one job after the next, day after day, without interruption. When we reached the point where countertops could be installed, we had to wait several days for our appointment. They installed one slab that was not properly cut, so there was a gap about 1/3" or so which they tried to hide by filling in with white caulk. I noticed it later and contact our sales rep, who requested Stone Etc. to come back and correct their mistake. It was another week before they could come out. In the end, they were able to fix the mistake, but the whole process took about 1.5 weeks for countertops, and my GC had to schedule around them. Furthermore, because of their mistake, my GC ended up having to reschedule other jobs which couldn't be completed until after the countertops were installed (such as tiling the backsplash), so working with them ended up causing delays in our remodel. read more

I used them since my Fabricator uses them (Albany Cabinets). They left the installation with issues that my contractor promised to fix (which I didn't know about). Long story short, my contractor ended up adjusting the cabinets to fit the counters they cut. In the end everything turned out okay. But, their customer service and communication is pretty bad and it caused me a lot of stress. I have a young child and they gave me really early meeting times at house and weren't very understanding. I wouldn't recommend them or Albany Cabinets. Use someone less aggravating. read more

As a remodeller I get to work with many sub contractors, some do good job and some are more challenging (I don't like to complain:-). But every once in awhile I get to work with true professionals. They got a very unique process of templates, drafting and QA approvals. I was impressed and relaxed. Before, working with others it was very challenging to assure they understood what you expected and you figure out they didn't only when they come to install and then it's too late. Professional, friendly and punctual. I worked with Jessica to coordinate our counter install from Ikea. Most of our communication was through email due to my busy schedule but even like that she was a pleasure to work with. We got a morning appointment by request and the fellow that came and did the counter measurements was polite, friendly and punctual. He explained each step and answered all our questions. Our counter was ready faster than I thought and the guys that came to install were punctual, clean and patient when my son wanted to help them out (he's a toddler). They made sure our farmhouse sink sat properly and did a great job on the island. I remodeled both the master and hallway bathroom and I had a very excellent experience working with them. The ladies R and C were both easy to work with and even when I did not understand what they were talking about, R would ask one of the shop guys to draw up a sketch, and email it to me. They were pleasant and easy to work with and best of all patient. When the guys came over to measure for the template, they were courteous and professional, they were careful and made sure the template was done properly. I had many questions for them and they were patient to explain to me what they were doing, and answered all my questions. Because the template was accurate, on installation day, the stone went in easy and quickly. Of course, I have my own tarp to cover my carpets, so they didn't need to lay anything down. Like I said, it was a breeze putting the stone on the cabinets and the fit was perfect. I see some comments here where some folks were not happy with Stone, but that was not my experience. I am really happy with my new countertop and I strongly suggest people giving them a try. They are nice and easy to work with, and best of all very patient because my second bathroom remodel dragged on and on due to my busy schedule and design indecisions, before Stone can finally install. read more

I ordered counter tops through Ikea on 5/25, emailed Charizza the next day and got the response 5 days later. After that, the process has been really painful. I never hear back anything until I ask her again for any updates. Now it's been two weeks and I still haven't even scheduled anything yet. My review might be biased since I have only interacted with Charizza, other workers might be a lot better, but I just never got a chance to. I leave a 3 for now, and will come back and update if needed after all the work is done. Update: Charizza helped me schedule my installation a lot earlier than what it's supposed to be since she understood I had along wait on my template. I really appreciate the effort. Also, the guy that came to take measurements did a really good job. He pointed out all the imperfections for the installation of the cabinets (if they are leveled perfectly) and made notes for the counter top installers. He spent a good 40-50 minutes time here. We were pleasantly surprised when Jessica contacted us to let us know they were ready to install because fabrication was quicker than we expected. I needed to change the date of the installation, and that was no problem - they were very accommodating. Sadly, Stone Etc has not been able to follow through even after installation. Their installers forgot to collect payment from me after installation. Subsequently, their billing department called threatening to put a lien on my house after THEY forgot to collect payment. To put this in perspective, they called less than a week after they finished installation. I'm not sure what book they read, but where I come from you don't threaten a customer BEFORE even invoicing them and when you forgot to collect a payment. There a pattern developing here on their end that they are completely disorganized (not properly planning for materials, forgetting to collect payment, etc), but they will try to blame everything on the customer. Even if they are the cheapest price, it definitely is not worth it. Do not go here! read more

They were always polite and on time but the work was surprisingly shoddy for Ceasarstone countertops that cost thousands of dollars. We were referred here by IKEA. The edging is inconsistent, sometimes sharp and then, further down the same slab, becoming beveled. The seam isn't straight and neither is one of the corners. Worst of all, one piece was too short despite being measured by them. They tried to hide it by adding a bunch of caulking at the end. I caught it and they fessed up. To their credit, they came out to fix it for free without much hassle but there are still 5-10 small details that don't look great. Surprising given the cost. I have no idea if others are any better but I would definitely give someone else a shot the next time I needed a countertop installed. read more

These guys did a phenomenal job. Remy manages their inventory and is totally cool. Edgar led the installation team and it turned out great. We installed Raven Caesarstone along the cabinets and Arabescato White marble in the island kitchen and Buttermilk Caesarstone in one bathroom and Travertine in another. Their work is great and they had really good attitudes. Honestly after reading the reviews I was cautiously optimistic and had some concerns. We were very disappointed with our bathroom countertop installation because the template was not done carefully, so one of 2 sinks is not centered in it's countertop opening. They were hired by the Cabinet Center in San Carlos to do our countertop. I am not impressed with there installation. The seam on my countertop was raised in a couple of spots and I did not realize it till the next day. My contractor noticed it as well. The Cabinet Center contacted them and I also called as this installation was delaying the whole project. I can't believe the installer himself did not notice it. Many phone calls later and a supervisor coming in, they got it right. But I was miffed when they came to fix it that the proposal was to ground the stone to make it flush which would void my warranty. Also, I had issues with their scheduling. If you push back on them they are eager to please but I expect things to get done right from the get go. Countertop installation will gate many items down the line. read more

I had a pretty pleasant experience with them and nothing to complain. They came once to do the measurement, on time, fast. They came 2-3 weeks later (which is on time as they told me at the very beginning that it may take 2-3 weeks to finish the granite) and installed it, on time, fast. The countertop is the same as we expected, no flaw. I noticed that some reviews say that they had to schedule a couple of times due to unlevel surface or plywood etc. My experience was that, when I scheduled for the measurement, they explicitly emailed, called (twice) to make sure these conditions were satisfied before they come. read more

This is my first experience with an IKEA installation. There are certain businesses that are contracted with IKEA and this is one of them. The team came out yesterday afternoon to take measurements for our countertop. When the measurements were ready to be finalized, Carlos called his partner, Ignacio, to come in. Ignacio was in the car the entire time Carlos took measurements. Ignacio came in and appeared to be checking his measurements/finalizing what Carlos had done. Ignacio then said that there was a problem with the cabinet install and that another 1.5 inches would be needed for the sink we ordered and that was on site to fit. He stated that everything would need to be moved over to the right 1.5 inches. He measured again to confirm that 1.5 inches would be needed. Once this was done, the sink would fit and the countertop could be cut. They left and said to call the office when the change was made. I spoke to Tereza (so) to confirm what was stated and asked about the measurements. She then informed me that no measurements were turned in! Carlos took at least 45-60 minutes to measure everything! I was very surprised to hear that nothing was turned in! His partner stated that by moving the cabinets over 1.5 inches, the countertop and sink would fit. In addition to Stone etc not having our measurements that they spent 45-60 minutes taking, they want to charge us twice...once for this visit and the next time they come back to confirm the change was made. I don't feel that it is appropriate to pay for work that was already done, because the next visit should be an extension of the first. The next visit should be to confirm the measurements already taken and confirm that the change of 1.5 inches was made to go forward with cutting of the countertop. The staff overall is helpful but we do not feel we should be charged twice. Updated 5/28/16 The office staff was great and we were not charged for the additional trip charge. Everyone at Stone Etc made sure that our counters were cut/installed correctly and were within the time frame quoted. I would recommend this company despite the earlier problems because they will work with you to make it right! read more

This is my first yelp review, but I read yelp reviews religiously and I wanted to take the time today to write a review for Stone Etc. because before my kitchen remodel, I had read many of the reviews here and was a little nervous based on what I read. My contract with Stone Etc, was actually through Costco, so I didn't have a choice in my fabricator. If I wanted the Costco price (which was significantly less expensive that the two other bids I got), I had to use Stone Etc. From beginning to end, I had a completely positive experience with everyone at Stone Etc. Any time I had an appointment for something, the employees were always on time and even called 20 minutes before they arrived to let me know they were on their way. My phone calls and emails were always returned, my questions were always answered and everyone I worked with throughout the process was incredibly professional. I was able to choose my stone from MC International and even through the Thanksgiving holiday, my countertops were installed in the promised time (10 working days from templating). I am an admitted control freak, so I continually checked in with everyone at Stone Etc. to make sure everything was going as planned and that appointments were set up for templating, layout of the template, and installation as quickly as possible. When we did the layout of the template, I drove the 80 miles from my home to Stone Etc. and made sure I was part of the process. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name who does the template layout on the stone because he was FABULOUS. He worked with me for over an hour and a half to get the layout exactly the way I wanted it (with seams in the cook top and sink and avoiding as many blemishes in the stone as possible). He never once questioned my neurosis and seemed genuinely happy to be working with me. I do not recommend templating with photos by email (unless you are using ceasarstone or something uniform). It is worth your time and energy to stand in the shop yard getting the template just the way you want it. Granite/stone is a huge investment and you should treat that way! When it was time to install, I almost expected something to go wrong because everything had been so easy to that point - but installation was flawless as well and my countertops are gorgeous. I had a wonderful experience with Stone Etc. and I couldn't be happier. read more

Our experience with Stone Etc. was a good one. Jessica answered my emails pretty fast, she gave us the instructions ahead of time, she scheduled everything in a very reasonable time. She gave us a two hours window and both times the workers were on time. The first time they couldn't finish the installation because the wall on one side wasn't straight. They left the counter unglued so we can fix the wall. We did pay reschedule fee 225$ but they did a good job with our countertop. They even give us tips on how to clean and maintain the countertop. 11:12am, 10/05/2016 Apparently these People do not like dealing with Ikea! After many attempts to get this done, we finally agreed to a time to get the templating done. The ethnic person, who performed this task, was professional, courteous and arrived on time and finished easily within my time frame. Too bad the people for whom he performed this task do not follow his example. I asked for a sample from the waste, he made the request, the people at Stone just erased it from THEIR drawing, they did NOT erase it from MY drawing. When I called to enquire why, I was answered like I was back in school, sometime on or around the fourth grade, "We don't do samples!" That's it, no warning, no communication, screw you, we don't do samples! Never mind that I paid for it, never mind that I bought enough stone for FOUR COUNTERTOPS in my home! Screw you, WE DON'T DO SAMPLES! I asked for an early delivery time, I was told this would happen. It worked just fine for the templating, no one complained, it worked very well. Yesterday I found a message on my cell phone. 'We'll be there between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.' Wonderful! I start my job at, you guessed it, 1:00pm every single day but Friday when I start at 12:00 noon! All I have to say is, those countertops better be absolutely perfect. I hope the installers are better with people, if they are, maybe I'll update this review! 7:00pm, 10/05/2016 (The time of this writing!) Okay, here's the story! Apparently, the 'Person', with whom I spoke this morning, is new, has NO people skills and was all but reading from a Script when dealing with me. This explains the near robotic attitude towards my reasonable request is morning. While I still do not appreciate the lack of communication where my appointment, sample request and change to the plan/drawing is concerned. BUT!?! The Installers arrived, three of them, and went right to work without excuse or knowledge of my problem. Courteous, knowledgeable and they listened to my every word, request and advice where my 'Mobile Home' is concerned. The job was finished, they cleaned up to an acceptable level (I have never seen so much dust!) Provided me with great maintenance information and departed without causing concern to my fellow Mobile Home Park Inhabitants. My Kitchen, Pantry and Bathroom Countertops are perfect and they did not leave until I was satisfied! These, three, hard working Gentlemen did not judge, berate or belittle this 60 year old man. I bought Vadara quartz countertops/backsplash from a cabinet shop that I have used multiple times for remodel projects. The demo, fabrication, and install was performed by their fabricator, Stone Etc. We have had previous granite and quartz installations in 2 bathrooms and kitchen with other companies and never had any installation problems like we did with Stone Etc. We asked our kitchen designer that we wanted the project done before Thanksgiving. After templating, it was scheduled after Thanksgiving. During demo, a cabinet trim above the drawer was cracked. The demo guy said it would be replaced but Stone Etc. office said it was not their responsibility. We were told to glue the 4" crack. Later we found out it should have been replaced. The problems with installation were mainly with the backsplash: backsplash trim had 1/4" gap from window trim; one backsplash edge was chipped and was poorly cut with a weird angle; backsplash edge was not even with wall edge; messy caulking and brown caulking used when white caulking ran out (which looked awful). The countertops were fine except a small seam wasn't flush and so the uneven surface caused a slight shadow where the seam is. With the errors and all of the seams cut into the quartz backsplash, I would not recommend using this material for backsplash. Tile would have been a better choice. The kitchen designer, Stone Etc. account manager and install/repair guy came out and we pointed out all the problems. The account manager agreed the backsplash had to be ripped out and replaced. It took another week and the total process took 6 weeks to complete. read more

After confirmed the schedule, the installer didn't show up. And I never got the call about delay. I wasted my whole afternoon and got nothing. I got them to install a Caesarstone countertop, and it turned out great! I literally got about 15 to 20 quotes, from different places, between Silestone, Caesarstone, and Zodiaq. In the end, their quote was so much lower that it made me wonder if they were even real. So I called Caesarstone, and they are indeed a legitimate supplier. I was quite impressed with the final result. I first scheduled an appointment to have measurements taken. That took about an hour, because they had to make a very detailed template for the countertop. They also had to take the sink away (since I'm doing an undermount installation). After two weeks, the counters were made, and the installation was much quicker. Two guys came, put down the counters, sealed everything, and the result was great. I had the dream kitchen I always wanted. That said, I think my experience was a bit better because I had about 6 months to research what I wanted and how the whole process works. I did a lot of the preparation myself, and this is probably what you have to do too if you go with them. Compared to (much) more expensive places, they are more self-serve, so I had to prepare the cabinets myself, and understand exactly what I needed. For example, I have frameless, European-style cabinets, which might require some plywood underlayment as per the instructions they sent. However, I figured I didn't need them with the clearances I have, so everything worked out. As with every remodeling job though, it helps to understand what you want them to do, no matter who you go with. read more

We used Stone Etc. to fabricate a Cambria kitchen countertop and a Cambria fireplace surround. This was an ordeal. The kitchen was a fairly straight forward U shaped kitchen. The only complicating design issue was a "waterfall edge" where the counter goes down to the floor at the end of the kitchen peninsula. After MANY back and forth calls between us, our designer, the material vendor etc. we had a plan. Coordinating a templating date is like herding cats. This place is not well organized or efficient. You really must be your own advocate. And God help you if you miss your templating date and have to get in at the back of the line. Faxes of detailed drawings were done by hand and at times were very difficult to read. No CAD drawings here. Does that say 3/8 or 3/4? Can't tell. They measured (visit #1) incorrectly for the countertop "waterfall" detail. So the installation (visit #2) did not happen. On the second installation attempt (visit #3), the countertop was installed but the seams were quite poor. We purchased a very white countertop material and the seams were brownish/yellow due to bad hand tinting when installed. There were also some visible chips at the seams and some uneven seams. I was not pleased at all. When they returned to install the fireplace (visit #5) after measuring the fireplace (visit #4), the fireplace surround also did not fit. There was a 1/2 gap that was present because they did not account for the walls of our 1961 house being irregular (go figure!). Install guy wanted to just caulk and go. I nixed that and sent it back. They re-milled at the shop and to their credit you couldn't see the piece they added when they finally installed it (visit #6). The installation crew made a futile attempt to lighten the seams of my kitchen countertops when they installed the fireplace. No change. Still not pleased at all. The only bright spot in this whole job was when their installation supervisor came back (visit #7) to fix the seams on the countertop. He (and 3 assistants watching) spent two hours working his magic to grind down irregular seams, lighten epoxy and buff chips out. Looks great now. But if I had not been a nag they would not have sent this guy out. I withheld payment on the second half of my fireplace surround until they addressed the countertop seams. Bottom line: it is really very hard to avoid this company. They are one of two local installers for these types of products. Be very attentive to the details of your job because they won't do it for you. Some of these problems could have been caught by a savvy kitchen planner or a skilled contractor (which I had!). But the average homeowner is sort of hanging' in the wind. Good luck. UPDATE 12-26-10: only days after writing the review above our fireplace surround split. Now there is a very visible 8 inch crack. Put a stop payment on the check. Stone Etc. closed down between Christmas and New Year so no contact yet. I think this is going to be difficult. UPDATE 1-28-11: Still have a now 12 inch crack in my fireplace. Stone Etc. has not corrected yet. They have involved the manufacturer of the material (Cambria). Currently their accounting department is threatening collections if we don't pay for the balance due on our kitchen countertop. Got yelled at over the phone last night by their collections person on the very same day that Cambria sent a tech out to look at our fireplace surround. You decide if this is the kind of company you want to work with. FINAL UPDATE: Cut our losses. Had Stone Etc. come out and remove the cracked fireplace surround. We had another installer fabricate a replacement. read more

I'm a kitchen designer and cabinet salesperson, and I use them all the time. I find they give me good pricing, they give me good service, and are about as good as it gets. I don't quite understand the customer saying they put a lien on his house before billing, doesn't sound plausible, frankly. They are a solid company, they understand the business, I agree that something being out of stock would be frustrating, I suppose that doesn't happen to me because I always ask before I order. So that's probably a good suggestion for anybody, ask to confirm stock in advance of when you would need your top to avoid problems. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I had a choice. OMG did they jerked us around the entire process. I cannot stop cursing them. First the installer came out and said that he could not do the measurements because our cabinets were not leveled. okay, so we took the time to get the cabinets completely leveled. Then he would not do the measurements because there was no plywood over the cabinets. He also instructed that I get my general contractor to add reinforcement to an area. When we got the plywood nicely cut for the countertop (which took extra time and money), we were then informed that we had ordered the wrong type of granite (because it would leave the plywood exposed). We then changed our order to their specification. But guess what, on day of installation, they install the WRONG granite, and ripped out the plywood and the reinforcement that THEY had specifically wanted (so that they can accommodate that wrong thickness type of granite)! What a complete waste of time, money and effort!!! When we called them about this, they offered NO apology and NO action. They are a bunch of morons, not to be trusted. STAY AWAY FROM THEM if you want a seamless installation. I will complain to IKEA about their inferior service. And hope everyone who had a bad experience do so as well, so that future customers do not have to suffer! read more

Working with Stone Etc has got to be the single most frustrating experience of my life. I was forced to order from this company via IKEA kitchen department. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN. Setting up a date for a measurer to come and create a template was fairly simple and the gentleman that came was polite. This is the end of my positive experience though. After measurements are taken, the stone takes two weeks to be cut. That is a long time to be essentially kitchen-less. To make sure there were no hiccups on the day of installation, I spoke with Tina of Stones Etc to go over a list of things I needed to prep for the installers. Having just gone through a terrible experience with IKEA kitchen cabinet installation, I made sure to be thorough in my questions. Along with the template already taken, there should have been nothing unexpected. The day of the installation, the installers refuse to install the bar in my kitchen. Their reason is because I have no corbels to support the bar. This is strange to me because I had explicitly asked Tina before whether or not I would need those and she said I didn't. So naturally, I did not have this prepared. "That's fine," I say to myself. "The installers should have those right? They're constantly installing bar tops!" WRONG. They do not provide this material or service. Additionally, the installers claim that the surface the bar is to be installed is actually crooked and not suitable for an installation. HOW did the man who took the template weeks ago not make a note of this? The installers leave my place without having installed my bar top. They also leave a mess of my floors: dust everywhere from cutting wood and what not. I call Tina furious, tell her about the situation, and demand she send her installers the following day. She sympathizes with me and says she will report the situation to their manager to solve the issue. She says she will get them back to my place to finish the installation. After clarifying with Tina a second time about expectations, buying the necessary equipment (i.e. corbels), and leveling the surface for the bar, I'm ready for day 2. The installers show up and tell me that they cannot install the corbels themselves because they "do not want to take responsibility." How does this make any sense?! This is literally their job! I ended up doing it myself just to get them to shut up and work on the counter top. Afterwards, the installer asked me "What do you think we should do next?" No options, no guidance. I was completely dumbfounded. He was asking for my advice on the next steps. I replied "I don't know. I've never installed a counter top before." It's only HIS JOB to know what is next. After an hour and a half, they finally leave (and surprise! they didn't clean up after themselves again). During this, I called Tina again very angry to find answers. She again said that she would contact the manager about what is happening and get back to me. I have yet to hear back from her. Stone Etc is a company filled with workers who are unhelpful and lazy. I understand that Stone Etc is probably making bank from their partnership with IKEA, but that is no excuse for terrible service. Yes, the final product does look good, but the trouble of getting there is not worth it. Not one bit. read more

I didn't want to deal with a middle person so I went directly to Stone Etc Instead of going to a showroom to purchase granite for my Mom's fireplace. They work with all kinds of materials but I decided to go with the granite. I did some shopping around before I decided to choose this company. I'm really glad that I decided to go with them. The pricing was the best compared to others and the customer service was great all of the employees were very polite and proffesional. The Installers did a great job and my parents were so happy. I have recommended Stone Etc to all my Family and Friends and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to use stone for any area in their home. read more

Stone Etc. is the fabricator for Signature Carpet One, so we used them by default when we bought our remnant-slab (29x125) through Signature (the slab was sitting in Stone Etc.'s warehouse). On the day the template-maker was scheduled to arrive, I had to have Stone Etc. push the appointment back slightly, which they kindly agreed to do. The template-maker, Louis, arrived on time and was a nice guy. When he was done, he indicated that it would take about 10 days to do the fabrication and schedule the installation; they would call when it was ready. The original estimate had been seven days, but 10 seemed good enough. Because we had enough stone to do some extra work, we added a backsplash for the tub to the original countertop work. We knew this would add some cost, but for some reason they held up the job for a week before contacting me to say they needed formal authorization for the higher price (even though I'd signed the template that Louis drew, which showed the changes/additions). Stupid. In hindsight, I wish we'd skipped the extra work, which ended up being expensive to fabricate, delayed the project, and probably doesn't look as good as our original plan. But I hated to see that stone go unused. Another week passes and still no installation appointment. Finally, I called Stone Etc. to find out what was going on. It turns out when they looked at the remnant-slab, it was cracked, and they had to order a new one. Apparently they didn't bother to check the slab months earlier when I'd put the deposit down. They said they'd called Signature Carpet One, and that Signature had failed to call me. The new stone was being shipped from Atlanta and would take at least a week to arrive, followed by another 10 days to do the fabricating and schedule the installation. In other words, the original seven day time-frame had turned into well over a month, during which time we couldn't use our master bathroom. Annoyed, I asked them to compensate us for the delay and inconvenience. They refused, stating that they were already losing money because they had to order a new slab, which I replied was their fault, not mine. Finally, the manager agreed to expedite the fabrication, first to a week, and then to five days. When the countertop finally arrived it was 1/8 inch too short! Yep, it didn't fit. Fortunately, the installer was able to shave the inside edges just enough to make it work. But they forgot to bring most of our left-over stone (they only brought the sink cut outs), even though I'd emphasized the point several times. So it was back to the phone, where I told them point blank, either give us the leftover stone that we paid for, or give us a credit for the value lost. The next day they admitted I was right, but that they'd already discarded the leftover stone, so they forwarded a credit to Signature Carpet One. This turned out to be $100 -- it should have been over $200 based on the amount of leftover stone, but I didn't want to waste any more time arguing with them. (I should note that $100 was the credit-amount that Signature Carpet One returned to me. It's possible that Stone Etc. gave a larger credit, and that Signature kept part of it. Stone Etc. refused to tell me directly how much the credit was for, stating that it was "procedure" to go through the showroom that initiated the job.) Obviously, we will not be back to Stone Etc. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is the efforts of their installer, and of Lupe, one of their customer service reps (who got us the credit). read more

Long story short, their installer called me a "puta" assuming I couldn't speak Spanish. Classy Stone Etc. The details - These contractors are managing the countertop renovation at my apartment complex, Avalon Silicon Valley. Their installer lied to Avalon and stated the job was partially complete last week, when it wasn't. So when I came home to them working past 6 PM yesterday (which was not the agreement made by the complex) their installer told me it was going to be several more hours to complete the job that was meant to be done the week before. I was visibly frustrated, rightfully so, and I got on the phone to make arrangements to find somewhere to go with my dog for a few hours that evening so they could finish. At that point, he called me a puta and I just left. I had to talk to the complex and get them kicked out of my apartment. These people are disrespectful, demeaning, and obviously don't care that they are in someone else's home. read more

The measurements were incorrect. On the day of the installation, only one countertop was installed. They had to re-cut the other countertop due to their error. The sales associate, Jessica Torres, was very flaky and not responsive to multiple times that my husband and I follow up to find out when our installation is going to be completed. Every time we got her on the phone, we either got the run around about having to wait for materials or checking with her manager. She told us that she would call us back...that doesn't happen. If I didn't get the run around, I would get put on hold and disconnected. It's been 15 business days (3 weeks) since the date of measurement, we are still waiting for her call back.... We would not recommend this to anyone...unless you are bored and have time to chase down your countertop. Or, you need an excuse to eat out... I wish I could give 0-star. read more

The guys came out to install the countertops, backsplash and breakfast bar. After they installed the countertops, they couldn't figure out how to make the backsplash work. Apparently, the person who made the template made a mistake in measuring. Almost two weeks later, I have not heard back from the company, specifically Tina, as to what the solution is and when they will finish the work that I have already paid for with a credit card. When I call them, there is a recording that says all circuits are busy! You can't leave a voice mail because the mailbox is full! I will be calling the credit card company to get my money back. They seem to think they don't need to consider the customer as they get all IKEA's work for countertops. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Pay a little more and get a quality job. read more

We used Stone Etc. for the installation of our vanity counters in our master and guest bathrooms. We used Cambria's Kirkstead stone and the installation was done exactly as we expected. The crew was friendly and attentive and always on time. Whenever there was a question of proper measurements, the technicians made sure to coordinate with both our contractor and with us in order to make sure everything was exact. We enjoyed their level of service and would definitely use the company again for any future remodels. read more

"Stone, Etc." Installed a granite counter for me and after completion it was discovered that another hole was required for a dishwasher air gap installation. I called them 4 times over a 6 week period to try to schedule the drilling of the hole. After much prodding on my part, they finally scheduled the appointment but said they would get back to me on the cost if any. The night before the appointment they left a message that it would cost $225 to drill the single hole. It took them literally 5 minutes to complete the job and drill the hole. They also told me that I could pay the vendor directly with a credit card until I said it was a check. Then I was told to write it to them directly. Bad service, ridiculous pricing, questionable ethics...do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

My kitchen is small galley kitchen after they ripped out my counter tops and five trips later they still could not get it correct. I am truly surprised that Costco recomends them in their flyer. I have returned the counter top. Went to home depot and am waiting for another vendor to install my countertops. A very small job that sould of taken a couple of weeks has turned into me being without a kitchen for over two months. Well at least I feel like I will have what I want now. I strongly suggest not to use Stone Etc. Find another place to shop. PLEASE FOR YOU OWN GOOD. I will say the person who owns this business hires very nice people to work for him/her. I felt bad for the workers they did the very best they could but the person who makes the final decissions is a quack. Nothing matches short cuts were made on the back splash incorrect sizes. read more
