Our experience buying from KZ was outstanding from start to finish. One of the biggest reasons we…read morechose KZ was their showroom. They have so many displays to explore, including kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, vanities, and complete bathroom setups. Since this was our first home remodeling project, it was incredibly important for us to see examples in person because we weren't sure exactly what we wanted. We visited several other stores, but none of them had nearly as many displays or design ideas as KZ, which is why we kept coming back. We had the pleasure of working with Coco, and she was amazing throughout the entire process. She took the time to explain every product, answered all of our questions, and recommended design options that fit both our style and budget. She also helped us create our kitchen floor plan with precise measurements that our contractor was able to use, which made the installation process much smoother. What we appreciated most was that Coco continued to support us throughout our remodel. Whenever we had questions about our purchases, she was always available and happy to help. Having someone so knowledgeable and responsive gave us a lot of confidence during a project that was completely new to us. We highly recommend KZ for anyone planning a remodel, and we especially recommend working with Coco. Her expertise, patience, and excellent customer service made our remodeling experience so much easier and more enjoyable.

Pros: Very competitive pricing--probably one of the most cost-effective places for cabinets and flooring in the Bay Area. Complimentary cabinet design service. Large selection of products, including cabinets, flooring, tiles, countertops, vanities, and hardware. The flooring selection is excellent. I've been very happy with the quality, and East Star is still my favorite flooring supplier. Cons: The tile selection is a bit less appealing compared to the rest of the showroom. Cabinet parts are not labeled, which made assembly more time-consuming for my contractor. The standard particleboard cabinets are a good value, but I noticed slight warping on a few cabinet doors that made perfect alignment difficult. The upgraded cabinet panels performed noticeably better. Since there is no onsite measurement service, a few field conditions weren't fully captured during the design process, resulting in some installation conflicts (such as gas pipe clearance and an oven/fire door swing conflict). If your project has a more complicated layout, I'd recommend having your contractor& architect carefully verify all dimensions before ordering. The showroom is quite popular, so appointments and order processing can take some time. Planning ahead is a good idea if you're on a tight renovation schedule. For context, I also purchased cabinets from another local supplier that was only slightly more expensive and included complimentary design, onsite measurements, and installation options. In my experience, the service and standard cabinet quality were slightly better there. That said, East Star still offers outstanding value, especially if you're managing your own renovation. I'd happily buy flooring from them again, and I would also consider purchasing cabinets from them in the future.

We brought it back to the store, but they refused to exchange. The warehouse staff claimed that the installer had opened the package and checked when picking it up. However, the package was only opened enough to verify that the correct item was inside--it was never fully unpacked or inspected for damage. There was no reasonable way to see this damage without actually opening the entire package. I understand that damage can happen during shipping or handling, but the customer should not be left responsible for damage that was not reasonably possible to discover at pickup. I would strongly recommend that other customers carefully inspect the entire item before accepting or taking it home, and be aware of the store's after-sale services. To be fair, the sales staff were helpful and professional. My complaint is specifically about the after-sale service and the warehouse staff refusal to take responsibility for a damaged product.

Paul is friendly and knowledgeable, and Kennedy is always responsive, answering all my questions promptly. Andrew and Miguel were the installers, and they were friendly and polite, which made the process even easier than I expected. They were also very respectful of the space and extremely careful when moving things around the house. Their installation work was flawless. The transformation turned out exactly how I hoped. They truly brought my vision to life. I chose a greenish-gray color that complements the rest of my home, and I was going for a super modern look--they delivered exactly what I imagined. This company clearly cares about his customers, and at no point did I feel pressured. Refacing made so much sense! They can reface all the cabinets throughout the house, not just in the kitchen. That's what I did, so make sure to ask about their full home services. I only had to empty the cabinets for less than a week, and now I get to enjoy the bathrooms, laundry room and a kitchen that feel completely new. Thank you!

This store pretty much has all their vanities on display so you can see the different wood finishes and size options, which ones come with a sink and which ones have a separate sink. The prices are great compared to other custom vanity places. The store is huge and seems overwhelming. They carry a lot of products for your kitchen, bathroom and other rooms in your home. Since I was focused only on purchasing a vanity, I tried my best not to look at all the other products they carry, such as floor tiles, wood floors, bathroom tiles, shower fixtures, toilets, mirrors, shower doors, etc. So much to look at!! Richard helped me with my questions. He was knowledgeable and patient. He showed me comparable products around the floor then put my order together. Most items are in stock! That's great!! No need to wait for delivery. What I like about PHD is that I can purchase my products and my contractor can pick them up. I don't have to haul a vanity in my tiny car. Returns have a restocking fee. Make sure you like what you're getting.

We were set on using Shiloh Malibu cabinets with a reeded design and built the entire kitchen around this focal point, which made the design process both complex and unconventional. Throughout the journey, Kailun created what felt like 20 different design iterations and cost estimates, helping us carefully evaluate every possibility. In the end, we couldn't be happier with the result. The quality of the Shiloh cabinets is outstanding. The natural wood tones give the kitchen a warm, organic feel that is anything but bland. The variation in the wood grain makes the space feel truly unique and custom. We decided to mix two different wood tones, which initially made us a little nervous, but the final outcome exceeded our expectations. The soft-close features are excellent, and the craftsmanship is evident throughout. We highly recommend Kailun and the team to anyone looking for a thoughtful design process, exceptional service, and beautiful, high-quality cabinetry.

I couldn't believe the job they did at the price then. Even more surprising was the fact that they were always on time and delivered everything as stated. Jessica oversaw everything and even helped me select sinks and countertop styles in keeping with trends, and long term usability. That was 14 years ago. I now live in another town and have a kitchen that needed an overhaul, although not to the extent of the one in Fremont. I tried more local remodelers and experienced the same frustration as before: ghosting, over pricing, unclear terms, unreliable, 8 month wait times... I called Jessica and asked if she could redo my kitchen where I live. She came over and made an estimate the next day. I was so happy to be able to hire EB again! As before, she offered fantastic insight as to what elements to get, like this time it was quartz instead of granite, and a color and pattern that fit best with the palette of the house and floor. Anyway, they updated my kitchen: installed appliances, sinks, some new plumbing, new countertops, walls - all at a very reasonable price. Her team (a couple of whom were the same people as before) worked long hours and finished in only 5 days. We gave them a bonus at the end of the job for working so hard and competently.
