There was plenty of parking available even with a full house The show was great, the $15 fee quite resonable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We purchased tickets in advance on line. I look foward to going again and investigating all the other opportunities here.

All on one campus you find a farm full of livestock, an art gallery with works from…read morearound the globe, a quiet woodsy escape traversing behind Henri Bendel's gorgeous former home (and who wouldn't want to have their event in that holiday-lit banquet space?). The playground is adorable (seasonally open we guess as it that log tunnel entrance was closed on our December day), and speaking of adorable, a pair of otters steal the show. This is a family friendly spot with the farm, and a private kids party was being hosted indoors at the farm. This is also a great hiking spot with an accessible boardwalk river trail, and some blazed trails throughout. Signage said to beware of bees in summer, but our autumnal-feeling day was fine of course. Modern sculptures were found throughout the campus, with plenty of parking at the house and farm sides each. The planetarium is now in a fresh built shingled space, but alas was not open our December day. Despite this we still had a great visit. Alas, even if you have AAA, museum reciprocal membership, or other usual discounts, there do not appear to be visit discounts here, but if you're local you may as well become a regular and join this unique space.

They book comics sometimes too. The place is immaculate. Recent renovations to sound and lighting make it a great choice for top quality perfomances and a fun night out with friends. Most shows are kid friendly too. The staff is pleasant and couteous, and the drinks are only moderately overpriced. Garnishes included free of charge. The Wall Street Theater was renamed District Music Hall in March 2024. I'm betting it will be March 2034 before Yelp updates this listing.

This was the first time that I had the pleasure to play golf at the Westchester Country Club. I had…read morebeen there twice before; one for a charity indoor event and the other a wedding. This time I was invited to a charity event that included lunch and dinner. The two golf courses was originally designed by Walter Travis as a luxury resort hotel. The West Course was designed for championship play while the South Course was originally designed for women and higher handicap golfers. But that has changed since they redesigned it sometime in 1997 to be more competitive. Recent tournaments included the Constellation Senior Players Championship in 2011 on the West Course and its first LPGA major for the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. We had breakfast/lunch on the outdoor patio prior to a 1pm tee off. The service and selection of food from their buffet were wonderful. I was not able to stay for dinner, but I did enjoy the halfway house barbecue while out on the golf course. Being an average handicap player, I found the golf track challenging but quite enjoyable to play. The golf course is quite scenic with some spectacular hillside views. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to finally play at the club.

It came with farro and sautéed spinach. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Others in the group raved about the pork chop. For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache and chocolate cookie crumble. Much denser than a regular mouse, very good. Also the brown butter creme Brule. In Ridgefield Ct. a beautiful estate hosts the community's events. Known better as the Lounsbury House, this beautifully preserved property is the place to have your wedding or event. Originally named Grove Lawn, the Lounsbury House at 316 Main St., was built in 1896 by a former Connecticut governor, Phineas Lounsbury, who was born and raised in Ridgefield. While he attended the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, also known as the Columbian Exposition, he saw a replica of the Connecticut State Building on display. He commissioned the original Bridgeport architect to build a replica of the Connecticut State Building, so that upon his retirement from politics, he would have it to serve as his residence in Ridgefield. The Georgian Revival house exhibits the elegance and style he wanted to reflect Connecticut's hospitality. Lounsbury and his wife Jenny lived and entertained their friends at the house until his death in 1920. Since they did not have any children, the house was passed onto their heirs. Eventually, the house was purchased by the Town of Ridgefield. In 1953, it became the Ridgefield Veterans Memorial Community Center. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, the Lounsbury House is a non-profit association and proceeds from its fund-raisers, membership fees and rentals go towards the preservation, maintenance and operational cost of the home. I was present for the Ridgefield "Gone Country" barbeque contest which raises funds for the local Rotary club. The association hosts house tours, concerts, luncheons, picnics, fireworks and more. The July 20, 2018 Lobster & Clambake featuring 1 1/2 lb Maine lobsters, steamers and muscles is not to be missed.

The options to play around with furniture and tables they had for cocktail hour was a big sell for me, and the furniture ended up looking kind of cheap and beaten up. The biggest issue is we had string lights for the reception, which the venue essentially made us get because they said they did not have enough lighting. The lights were installed by an outside vendor and the venue could not figure out how to dim them, even though the company showed the staff at the venue how to, really making the entire vibe of the night bad. The food is pretty good and they give you a lot in the package, but not enough of a reason to choose this as a wedding venue. Probably better suited for corporate events or bar mitzvahs.
