A production value of zero! Come on guys, this could've been infinitely better! Stayed for the night's drone and laser show - do not waste your time! The music quality is really poor and you cannot clearly make out the words spoken or sung. Then the echo off the mountain completely distorts all the sound so all you hear is a constant source of bass mumbling jumbo. The content and arrangement of the material was horrible. There is no rhythm or flow, The video quality is poor at best because the side of the mountain with the carvings is used. The few images you're able to make out are severely distorted making it highly disappointing. The fireworks are ok thanks to the echo but their occasional use leaves you feeling there is only enough for a few charges so they're awkwardly forced into the show. It seemed as if the Memorial Day show was designed in choreographed by blundering amateurs. It was an embarrassment to those who serve(d), they deserved so much more of a show. Overall it's a disappointing and a pathetic form of entertainment. Save your money and spend your time without crying babies and crowds!! I requested my money back! read more

I absolutely love to hang out at this park with my family. Whether it's watching the fireworks in the month of July or attending the 1st annual Lunar New Year event! We had a BLAST. There was dragon and lion parade, various ethnic food, and, of course, boba tea. The entire event was whimsical. It was like strolling in downtown Disneyland where you can eat or shop for stuff. The fireworks and drone shows were spectacular. I had a giant eggroll for dinner from The Boyz Club. I love how Lunar New Years was celebrating all of the Asian cultures and brought all kinds of people there! We will definitely attend this event again next year! Bee's are out of control. Beware! Drink cups are strewn on lawn/sidewalk edges, Spills on train and the bees/wasp are everywhere. Stung 2x in one day. And, no, I did not have on any scented lotion or fragrances. They don't have afterbite in their first aide kits or shops and seemed genuinely unconcerned at an Atlanta Rhett and Scarlet O'Hara level. Many attractions were down and all for a $43 ticket price. read more

I miss seeing Haleakala and Mauna Kahālāwai (the west Maui mountains) every day going to work, so when I moved to ATL I was happy to know that Stone Mountain was only a short drive away, along with access to the Appalachian range of course further North. There's always a lot to do and see at Stone Mountain. I go here regularly with my clients to walk and picnic, but there are endless options to fill a day or even weekend. The museum is interesting, telling of how the mountain was formed and about its dark Klan history before GA state purchased the land in 1958. There's even a little mini theater where you can watch a short documentary if that's more your style of learning. The sky lift is definitely worth a ride, at least once, especially if you don't want to do the walk up trail. It's a fun way to see everything without taxing your knees as much! From the top of the mountain, when you get out, you can see Buckhead, Midtown, and Downtown ATL skylines which is pretty cool as I have not been able to go anywhere else and see these three all at once. The ride was smooth the one time I went, and although it seemed short it was worth it. The historic square, which you also have to pay to get into, is worth a look if you're into old houses and structures. Per Google it is a "Collection of historic 18th- & 19th-c. buildings with period furnishings & decor, plus a farmyard." It's always interesting to see how folks lived back in the day, at least for me. I love learning about history and touring museums/exhibits. Most of the buildings on site can be entered into, but there are a few off limits, maybe to preserve the integrity of them. There are endless picnic area options. Our favorite area is by the grist mill pavilions as the bathrooms are easily accessible and generally clean. There is also the Studdard picnic area that we've been to which is basically a whole slew of picnic tables scattered amongst the trees. I think there's only a portapotty on that side though. Many many other options available, but these are the ones I've been to. If you like you can also drive past the grist mill pavilions down to "Indian Island," after you go through the covered bridge. There's some interesting history there too to read up on about the bridge's origins. There is a nice couple of picnic tables down by the lake area where there are usually ducks and geese to be seen. Before or after you picnic you can walk the King's Trail which loops around through the woods. It's a little rugged in some spots with some tree roots and uneven terrain, but it's not terribly difficult to complete and it overlooks the lake for a nice, scenic, peaceful walk. We've also done the Songbird trail before which becomes pretty difficult after a certain part. I don't recommend that one for those with mobility or balance issues. You can do the walk up trail if you want a challenge. I've seen groups running it before too, if you really want to get your heart rate up! I see most people just walking the sidewalk trail that loops around the mountain. That seems to be a good option for most at it is flat and you can't really get lost. There is also the Nature Garden Trail which we've walked before. It has some info on the local plants in the area and you can see some of them on the walk - not an incredibly difficult trail either. We've also been to the trail that loops around the Carillon which was donated by Coca-Cola after exhibition in the World's Fair of 1964 in NYC. I've never been around for the concerts, but apparently they still play the bells at certain times of day. It's also a nice flat walking path and you get to see another perspective of the lake. There's still so much more to do and see at Stone Mountain that I have not explored yet but would like to over time. I would love to stay in a yurt on-site or see what the accommodations are like at the old inn or the hotel there too one day just for a little getaway. If you haven't checked out Stone Mountain, you definitely should. There's something for everyone. I hope to come back for a laser show or maybe next year's Pow Wow as I just missed it in early November and it's something I've always wanted to see. I definitely recommend getting the $40 annual parking pass. It's definitely been worth it as I believe day passes to park are $20 now, so if you go even twice you've already got your money's worth. read more

The Christmas village and overall experience was terrible...wasted money..wish I had it back...we were told to have the tickets ready on our phone...when we arrived we had to stand in line for 40 minutes to scan and then have the tickets printed...very disappointed and understaffed....the whole experience had slid completely dropped off....highly not recommend...no way read more

My family and I visited Stone Mountain for the first time a couple weeks ago and we had a great visit. Unfortunately, the Skyride was down for maintenance, so we did not get to visit the top of the mountain because some of our family have mobility issues. We walked part way up the mountain and hiked around the nature trail with our toddler son. The nature trail had a nice stream winding through it, several trees and plants, and plaques educating us about the local flora and fauna. The educational center provided a lot of interesting information and even a replica of the carving on the mountain. We explored the quarry and learned about the places that the quartz was used. We also checked out the covered bridge and the grist mill, which provided interesting glimpses back into the past. The park was interesting, but many of the activities there were closed. I think that we will visit the park again in the spring or summer to enjoy the mini golf, train, and the greenery. Rating from F to A+++, I give it an A+++. read more

It was a terrible experience we paid well over a hundred dollars to enter the park and do the attractions. We loaded onto the train and they gave a 5 minute wait time then 10 minutes had passed and they told us we had to get off. So we went across the whole park to the Dino exhibit and we got to the gate walking in and they closed it in our faces! I was so upset because my son only wanted to see the Dino's that's why we came to Stone Mountain. So I shed some tears and one of the employees laughed and told her coworkers that the guest are so annoying. All this to say I do not recommend and will not be returning. Beautiful natural park. Trees and a stream flowing through with lights everywhere. A definite staple mark of Georgia. George ours during the holiday season Location - 1000 Robert E. Lee blvd. Stone Mountain GA 30083. I was lucky enough to see this beautiful park during Christmas time. With lights strung up everywhere and illuminated trees with a Christmas village and a 4 D Christmas clip simulator with bubble effects and wind. There was a fun dinosaur explore village with cute animatronics and a knowledge game puzzle as you walk through a maze. With Christmas music playing everywhere as you learn about each dinosaur species. Also there was a historic village town as you can look through different plantations and house with artifacts of old southern wooden antiques. It's crazy how much work was put into daily life. This place definitely is one that you have to experience yourself. read more

Came to Stone Mountain for the holidays since we thought their holiday events sounded like fun. They did a pretty great job decorating the park with holiday lights all throughout. We thought the train ride around the mountain was fun but wished there was some type of narration or something during the ride instead of loud holiday music. I feel like the train ride would've been more fun for people with younger aged children since it was like a holiday sing-along. One thing that we were very disappointed with was their selection of food for lunch. When we wanted to eat lunch around noon there was only one restaurant open in the whole park which only served things like chicken tenders and fries and burgers. There is a BBQ restaurant but they told us it would not open until 2pm. We got in line to get BBQ around 1:45. 2pm rolled around and the restaurant did not open. We had already eaten lunch at this point so we were only in line to get sweet cinnamon bread for dessert. The restaurant finally opened at 2:23 pm, and we ordered the cinnamon bread. They told us that the bread had not been baking yet that day but that they could start baking it and that it would take 45 minutes to bake. I declined because I did not want to want that long. The gondola ride up the mountain was pretty cool and we only had to wait about 15 minutes to ride. The stone mountain itself is really cool to see but we did not feel like anyone who worked there really enjoyed their jobs or cared about any guests who came to the park. read more

It's Memorial Day Weekend and I'm camping at Stone Mountain Park, this beautiful park is filled with lots of amenities and fun things to do normally unfortunately it seems Covid-19 has devastated this parks attendance as our elected officials struggle to make common sense decisions, so the default decision is to just shut everything down. All of the attractions are closed yet the park's entrance fee remains the same so yes you can paid the twenty bucks and walk the asphalt and enjoy this green space but don't come here expecting to participate in any of the attractions. It is a beautiful park but you will need to lower your expectations unless you are just looking to drive in circles and look at trees and closed attractions during these uncertain times - the lines of cars waiting to get is has dramatically dropped off so that may be one of the highlights of your visit. I would expect this place once again to become what it was once the pandemic subsides or we adapt to the struggles. I'd give it five stars for its beauty but only three for the experience it offered this visit, it was like going to an amusement park without rides fortunately I was able to smash a few pennies to commemorate the experience... read more

If you are visiting Atlanta, Stone Mountain is one of those touristy things that you just have to visit (along with the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta Botanical Garden). However if you are an avid hiker with me, this place can be a little bit too touristy for your liking. On top of that, I think paying to hike is just a scam in general. You have to pay $20 for the day pass. Honestly, I would only come here in groups of 4 or more. I think $20 for a hike is just too much, you might as well as use that money to fill up your gas and drive to North Georgia for some real mountain hikes with less of a crowd. Now onto the actual hike itself. There are two ways to do this. The first is park at the first parking lot that you see right when you enter the park. This first parking lot (also called walk-up trail lot) is basically at the base of the mountain and there is a trail that takes you directly up to the mountain. It's an easy hike up and down (for some people) and should be about a mile front and back. Take some basic selfies at the top, get a glimpse of all the greenery, and call it day. If you are looking for more of a challenge, then drive a little further when you first enter the park and find the playground lot. This lot is right in front of the Cherokee trail, which loops around the base of the mountain. The trail will also intersect with the trail that leads up to the Stone Mountain summit. If you decide to do the Cherokee loop and the ascent to the summit, it will be overall about a 7-mile hike that takes about 4 hours, which will vary from person to person. The Cherokee loop has some great sceneries including a river and the faces of the Confederate generals carved onto the mountain. Honestly, I would highly recommend doing to the Cherokee loop before you ascend to the summit to make it worthwhile. Of course, only do it if your body can handle it. It can be a strenuous hike if you commit yourself to this course especially during the summer. Don't sue me if you get wrecked. You have been warned. read more

We visited today to walk the 5 mile Cherokee trail around the base of the mountain. (We used connecting trails from the trail head.) The trail was beautiful! We've walked it before on a sunny day, today it was overcast with light rain. There is plenty of tree coverage on most of the trail, so we opted not to put on our rain coats and just enjoy our time in nature. There are a few sections of the trail that have eroded over the years making it a bit tricky to get around a few of the tree roots. There is one spot where part of a metal pole is sticking out of the ground. It's marked with a fluorescent ribbon but I feel like it could easily be completely removed to avoid having a tripping hazard near the water. The Mill is the perfect picture location along the trail as well as a few other locations a little bit off-path for resting. (Stones overlooking the water, ledges facing the waterfalls.) It took us about 2.5 hrs to complete the 5 mile hike which included the few stops we took to rest. I wish I would've snapped a few more photos but my battery life was a bit low. We plan to come back very soon as there are more trails we look forward to adventuring! read more

Stn Mtn Park has lots to offer for those looking to make a trip out of it. I grew up around this area so have many fond memories here. Many things have changed over the years and some have not. As a child, we used to come here in the 80s when it snowed and slide all the way down the big, grassy hill area where the laser show is. As a teen, came here for cross country practice. First off, pricing is $20 for a day parking pass. Used to be less than $10 not too long ago. It's a no-brainer to opt for the annual pass of $40, just go ahead and get it. You'll also want to check their website on the park attractions and if anything is closed. We've been coming to hike up the mountain lately. That parking lot is to the right at the merge and about a mile away. The lot is decent sized and has a bathroom at the bottom. The hike is right at a mile starting from the bathrooms to the very top. The first 2/3 hike isn't bad and there is a picnic shelter area right before it gets steep. The last 1/3 is fairly steep and I DO NOT SUGGEST hiking it after a rain or during rain. I slipped on it this past time going down, after warning my son to be careful. There is railing for some of the steepest parts. Plan to wear shoes with traction! For runners, the loop around the mountain is right at 5 miles. They also have a trail loop that is about 7 miles that uses the road and trails around the road. There are bathrooms abound here. Expect rolling hills. Other activities include: - Sky lift - Ropes course - Train ride - Camping - Boating/Fishing - Covered Bridge and Old Water Mill - Stone Mountain Village (cafe/shops) - Snow Mountain (seasonal) - Laser Show - Civil War Museum - Ride the Ducks - Bike paths Overall, a great place to visit with family or kids. I do support the removal of the confederate monuments and sculpture on the mountain, and pray that is taken care of one day. While I have memories growing up here as a child, I also realize that Stone Mountain represents a past that needs to change its narrative. Put it in a museum and keep it there. Worth checking it out though! read more

I would give it 0 stars if I could, because of a recent incident ! For years I have been to Stone Mountain since I was a kid. I've never had a problem with them, nor did my family ever have problems! Me and my mom went there on April 20th for the Easter Sunrise Service at 5am. We had a pass that was good until Oct 2025. We had the annual pass and an RFID employee pass. We had never been told about it being on the windshield. We have used it before, not on windshield, the person let us through. I know for a fact one of our neighbors who has the SAME pass, Wesley, NEVER has gotten stopped. He goes at least 5 times a week. Well I get up to the front gate, and show KAM the pass. He immediately said it wasn't valid, and I needed to leave. I was angry and both me and my mom asked for a sup, cause again never have been stopped for this, we also have a state park pass for any park in Ga, and can put it anywhere. No one cares, so I thought SM was the same. KAM said he was the supervisor and we weren't accepted into the park. It's not like I was trying to get in for free, it was paid, he could've let us go, and then been like next time put it on the windshield! NOPE! He basically screamed at me to leave . I told KAM I wanted a REAL sup, he said he would call the cops. Minutes later, another girl casually walks up, he yelled her name, Anika, I don't know if that's her name, that is what I heard. She said she was a sup and reiterated what Kam had said. By now about 30 cars were behind us, 2 guys got out and came up and asked what was going on. I told them, pissed, saying Kam wouldn't let me into the park. They turned to him and asked him if he could let me move to the side so they could go in. KAM said no. He wasn't willing to help anyone. WE EVEN SAID CAN WE TAPE IT TO THE WINDSHIELD, I had the pass in my hand on plastic, that's how I had used it before, and it was fine. KAM and "Anika" said no....again telling me to make a U-TURN and leave. 3 cop cars came up and asked what was going on. By now I was absolutely beyond livid. If some of their other workers aren't doing their job, that is not my fault. They let certain people in, and don't care about the rules, but y'all stop me !!????? OK! IN FRONT OF THE COP KAM TOLD ME TO MAKE A U-TURN AND LEAVE!!!!!!!!!! 4 times now I was told to leave, so I put the pass down, said forget it, and went to make a U-turn, which I was told to do 4 times. All of a sudden the cop SCREAMS at me " STOP! STOP! THIS IS A TRAFFIC STOP! YOU'LL STOP WHEN I TELL YOU TO STOP!" He pulls me over right at the front damn gate, and takes my license. We sat there for 20 minutes. My mom was crying, afraid we were getting arrested. I was about to crash out on everyone. We were being treated like freaking criminals, for no reason. The cop gave me a ticket for an improper U-turn. HOW??? I was told 4 times to make a U-turn and leave. KAM NEEDS TO BE RE-TRAINED ON HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE! I don't think you're supposed to treat customers, who bring you hundreds or thousands of dollars, that way. You don't know me, or who I know, I may know many people who would buy yearly passes. But after this none of us will go. I just wanted everyone to know how Stone Mountain treats their customers, and how they solve a problem, has no SUPERVISOR when you need them!!!! Of course no one cares. Take KAM away from the front gate PLEASE! I did have to pay a $200 fine because I couldn't take off for the court date to fight! BS! read more

I'll change this to five stars when they do something about the names of the streets (and I'll just leave that there). Otherwise, I love this place. I come for one reason: to park at the boat launch and kayak on the lake. As I come multiple times a month all year, I more than get my money's worth from my annual pass (which pays for itself after only your second visit). So, for those of you that kayak and paddleboard: This place is fantastic, especially on days you can't get on a river. Yes, there are other lakes, but one advantage of "SMP" is that there are no motorized boats allowed (well, kinda sorta...fishing boats with extremely low-HP engines are apparently allowed, but they are never an issue). There's enough distance and variety in routes to keep it interesting, even for somebody like me that might go as often as twice a week. End to end, it's a four-mile round-trip, and you can easily make that longer by holding the coastline, going around islands, etc. My only suggestion is to monitor the wind forecasts, because it can quickly be a grueling journey when the winds pickup (and for some reason, tend to be crosswinds that can make paddling to or from the launch a drag). read more

The stone mountain trail to the top is very fun and challenging. Perfect exercise for loosing weight and staying in shape. The top is like victory seeing the entire skyline of Atlanta metropolitan. Stunning Bas Relief carved into Stone Mountain. It is truly a work of art. We watched video of how it was carved; it was very interesting. There are several packages you can choose from depending on the experience you want. We chose the History Pass which includes the sky team and the History center. We wanted to take the sky tram up the mountain which gives excellent views of the Bas Relief. We enjoyed the History Center as well. The videos if the making of Stine Mountain as well as another historical video are shown in the history center. It was odd that we never saw anyone volunteering or working here. The gift shop was well stocked but a bit expensive. We picked up souvenirs there. You can walk to the top, however you need to be in really good physical shape as it is a challenging trek. The view from the top is beautiful. If you are in the area, this is a must see! read more

I had heard so much about this park before moving to ATL, so for our first weekend in Atlanta naturally we drove here. Park entry is steep at $20 but includes a laser light show at night which we did not care to wait for. I learned that we have erosion to thank for this massive granite rock sticking out of the ground. We opted not to take the gondola either and drove to the trail head and began the strenuous hike to the top of this granite mount which was approximately 1700 ft. With a 2.5 year old it took about 30-40 minutes to summit but if you hike without a toddler you can cut that time in half. As you advance up the face the twists and turns make you think you are closer to the top than you really are. At the top await 360 degree views of the area including the Atlanta Skyline. The park offers a few lakes to fish and a museum, and we also played in one of the play grounds. With snow on the ground there is bob sledding but in Spring time we were out of luck. I wanted to check this place out because I thought the Dino exhibit was open for the kids but it wasn't so I was disappointed, turns out it's only open on weekends and the website didn't state that. Parking was $20! Felt ripped off by that and so we went to the sky ride to the top and for 3 of us was like $75+. If I knew earlier how easy it would be to walk down and up, maybe I would have just hiked it. But I wanted the kids to ride the . The views are pretty amazing from up top and there are some nice shady spots If you just want to rest up there. The playground was big and nice for the kids to play in. I like how I didn't see any confederate flags waving around but this place obviously memorializes the confederacy. Seeing the carvings kind of ruins the natural beauty of the granite rock and forests around it. Not to mention an ugly reminder of American history. Overall it's an interesting place and they have different attractions for families to do. Cool to know that they shot Stranger Things in this park as well. read more

Stone Mountain has amazing views! If you enjoy exercising outside while enjoying the fresh air and great views Stone Mountain walking trails are a great option. Walking up is about a mile up with a pretty moderately steep incline so shoes with a good grip are a must. Walking around is long about 4.5 miles with a lighter incline and less intense than going up. If you plan to go regularly invest in the parking pass it's $40 annually versus paying the $20 for one day parking. Saturdays are typically busy so get there early if you want good parking and also to bet the heat in the warmer summer months. read more

As relatively new Atlantans, we were eager to be tourists in our new hometown. Given our unfading disdain for the sticky summer heat, we opted for the sunset package, which allowed us to enter at 5 - when most other folks are heading out of the park, and the sun is just beginning its downward descent. Our tickets also granted us access to the pavilion for the evening laser show, but we found the lawn to be a much better bet. Other visitors (who were more clearly in the know) brought lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and blankets to enjoy their pregame time more comfortable. The pavilion package also claims to provide soda and free popcorn as an added plus, but as so many others already noted on TripAdvisor, this really isn't much. A 20 oz. bottle of soda and stale popcorn really doesn't make or break the experience. Another thing I wish we'd thought of was bug spray, because those suckers made my legs look chicken-poxed by the end of the evening. Whining aside, we had a great time here. The laser show was a little kitsch, but it was far, far longer than we expected and we definitely enjoyed the fireworks and blowtorching bits. There was also a great dog show that was put on by a visiting adoption center, and there wasn't a dog lover in the park who wasn't cheering like mad for these pup's clever tricks. Slight downsides - things can add up quickly. There are several places to get food, but they're quite exorbitantly priced (and why buy them when you can bring them for free?), and parking is another unavoidable whopping fee. The booth agent explained that if we were to fork over twenty dollars, we'd get unlimited parking for the year, but we weren't ready to hand over such a large sum without knowing what the park experience would be like. There's also a tram that takes you to the top of the mountain but it is - you guessed it - another fee. So what's for free? Lots of little shops and tons of green space. There are apparently hiking trails and kid activities that the family can enjoy (we didn't get to see some of them since we visited after hours). We also weren't thrilled with how blasé most of the workers seemed. As first-time visitors, we weren't exactly sure where to go or where to park, and nearly everyone we asked seemed irritated by our confusion, especially the younger works. Quibbling and nitpicking aside, my husband and I couldn't help but gasp when we first caught sight of that giant slab of granite. It's quite a sight and certainly worth seeing at least once. read more

This is solely for the path up the mountain & back down... I took my almost three year old (he would be 2 years and 9 months) and my 5 year old to Stone Mountain on a Monday for a Christmas Break adventure. We have been playing it relatively safe with COVID - cant live without my Trader Joes and going to playgrounds - but the kids wanted something else. So, my in my infinite wisdom, thought "why not take these two to Stone Mountain by myself and see if we can make it to the top?" I packed a toddler SSC because I knew that he would want to be carried at some point in time (boy was I wrong) and snacks. It took us just over an hour to get to the top...with a few "lets-sit-so-mom-can-stop-panicking-about-the-climb" at the top. The sky lift was closed - second thought, better check that because it would have been nice to take it down the mountain and avoid the "my legs are tired" conversation. The snack area was closed. Not sure if it was due to COVID restrictions or what. The restrooms were open and they had a sign on the door to wear masks inside. COVID wise - maybe 1/3 of the people on the path had their masks on ... disclaimer: we did not, unless we were stopped (at the pavilion or at the top). But there was space enough to move away from people on the trail...except for this big group of high school aged kids (like a youth group or something). I felt completely comfortable. read more

I just came to watch the "old version" of the laser show before it got replaced by the newer, supposedly cooler drone/laser show. It was actually really nice--we went found parking fairly easily and the hill we sat on was spacious and inviting. The show was nostalgic and just as I expected. I had a great time here--would love to be back earlier to check out the rest of the place. Echoing the other reviewers, I highly recommend coming here if you have kids or if you have people visiting. read more

The view of the mountain was beautiful, walking up it was even more. But we came specifically for the original show that's been showing since 1983. We drove 8 hours just to come see it. The website for the show didn't tell us anything about the show being discontinued, so kind of a waste of time. And there were roaches everywhere. read more

SNOW MOUNTAIN @STONE MOUNTAIN REVIEW I had my doubts and I was right. I wanted to do winter activity and booked the earliest time slot at 830 on one of the opening days. Smh, as soon as I booked it I checked the weather and it was forecasted to be raining so I called them and left a call back # per automated system. No call back and I constantly checked the website to see if it was closed due to weather but no emails or updates so we headed to the park. Oh and even called in the morning at 8AM and on but still no one picked up. Went in through the main entrance of the Stonemountain park and no mentioning it was closed around 8:10 so we headed in but the entrance to the actual Snow Mountain was blocked off! Being our first time we didn't know better so we went back to the main entrance and they said it was closed until 10AM due to weather. Flustered we went to grab breakfast and came back for the 10AM slot. Again went in to the Snow Mountain entrance and there was $10 fee to park in the main parking lot. Wow... Stone Mountain is trying to nickel and dime you. Was told about the free parking lot just around the corner, which is actually connected to the pay lot, just a further walk and a bit limited. Got to the ticket booth and I requested a refund at this point as I didn't want to ride anymore. Staff told me that refund wasn't an option and I can ride now but the whole point was that I wanted to avoid the crowd so I requested that I get rescheduled for another day at 830. But to make the matter worse, Snow Mountain was supposedly opened at 830 that day so I was told wrong information! And I would have to pay for Stonemountain entrance fee again so I paid for a year pass $40 amount without even getting the actual pass! Also, by no means the website mentions that refund cannot be made so they need to clarify that further because that's very shady of them. Definitely keep this in mind for out of towners. Anyways, went back on our rescheduled day and just poor poor poor managment!!! There's no map or directions to where the tubing is so we just walked around to find it after getting our tickets at the ticket booth. (Even if you purchased a ticket, you need to stop by here to get the ticket you put on your clothing like the ski lift ticket style) Tubing opened at 835 and while I dont blame them cuz they're teenagers but the staff were fighting over the barricade... just walk and get the other ones around you! There was no mentioning of any safety guidelines or guidelines what so ever. If you want to ride the single tube you have to haul your own tube but they dont tell you that either. Other groups were mad that the double tube wasn't available and the group tube was limited to 4 people but I think you should bare in mind that strangers are paired based on capacity and weather. Its Atlanta and its 60 degrees... but I guess I understand it would be a setback for little kids that needs their parents to ride with them. We went down the single tube lane twice and on the second run, I hit a big bump and landed on my tailbone that I called it quits. So all the $ I spent I rode the tube twice. Also, they should really manage the facility better. I think it needs more snow at the bottom to cushion the fall! Went to the snow station to see if I can make snowman but everything is ice. You cant have snowball fights but you can throw snowball at the house looking target. The walkway was slippery, which definitely is a hazard and need salt the pathway. So definitely not worth it and I expect Snow Mountain to enhance their management and facility. It's been around for more than 5+ years that it shouldn't be having these amature issues. read more

Great place to visit if you're visiting Atlanta like myself or even just a local looking for a quick workout/hike. The place wasn't too packed and had beautiful views as you're going up. If you do the walk up trail, I would say its for all ages. While there is a steep incline most of the way, the trail is fairly short just a mile up and easily marked. You just follow the yellow brick road. While it does cost $20 to enter the location, you can park outside and walk into the park at no cost entering through the side entrance. A really cool spot to either hike or take the cable car up and down (or up one way and hike down the other - that seems to be the trendy thing to do here)! The hike itself is quite the workout and worth the view from the top. A little shop and some snacks up there as well if you're feeling like treating yo'self! Honestly, the coolest thing here, for me and only me, I happened to stumble upon my last name written on the side of the mountain! There's names and dates and whatever else all over, but the fact I happened to find mine was pretty wickedly cool. read more

Love this place! The fresh area and the peace and quite of the forest. And the beauty of the granite formation that is called Stone Mountain. If I lived in Georgia I would be there every weekend. This was an exhilarating experience! I haven't hiked since I was a kid in Hawaii and now I want to hike more! So I'm going to admit that now only have I been coming to Atlanta for many years (since 1998), but: - I've never been to Stone Mountain and - I had no idea the mountain would actually be stone! I thought it was just a name! No, it's a quartz stone. It's beautiful. The unfortunate thing about Stone Mountain is the relief sculpture on the side of the mountain that is a confederate memorial. It's a hurtful part of US history. It bothered me to pass the confederate flag at the base of three mountain on my way up. The irony is that there was so much melanin on the mountain the morning I hiked with the group of black women I was on a weekend girls trip with. There were a lot of hikers, but white hikers were the minority. There was nothing but positivity on the mountain and I look forward to hiking it again on my next visit. read more

It was a beautiful and warm day in Atlanta so a few of us decided to climb Stone Mountain. I hadn't been in years so I was excited. I'm not sure if any events were happening in the park but the Sky lift was closed and I saw signs for gift shops being closed for maintenance. My rating is for amenities being closed and parking being so expensive. It costs $20 to park one time or $40 for annual pass. If I thought I would come more often I would pay $40 but I probably won't so it's a waste of money. In my opinion, $20 is a lot to pay for parking when you just want to exercise up and down or around the mountain. There should be a lower one time parking fee, like $10 max, unless you are going to an event. Anyway, we walked to the top of the mountain and enjoy the best views. read more

The views in Stone Mountain Park were breathtaking. There are so many trails and areas to visit. I do recommend driving to the different trails because the park is huge and they are all very spaced out. The mountain is very impressive in person! Unfortunately, the majority of the attractions and restaurants were closed, including the train. Kayaks require reservation and we're fully booked for the duration of our trip. Parking is $20 and $40 for the whole year which is a great deal. read more

We love making a day of it coming here. With the membership, we get access to all the attractions and there's a lot to do: train ride, sky ride (cable car to the top), mini golf, shows, Dino Park, and so much more! We came during pumpkin fest and holidays and we loved all the shows and programming. There's definitely a lot of people during the pumpkin fest but it's worth it! I recommend getting a membership and someone in the family get platinum so you get free parking! Platinum also gets you access to Callaway gardens and their holiday lights and pumpkin fest so it's a good deal! read more

I visited on a vacation to Georgia this summer. Once you get to the top the view is amazing. You have the option to take the tram to lift you to the top of the mountain or you hike your way up. I chose to hike. Not recommended for seniors to take the hike option. You can run out of breath if you're not in shape. My 8 year old had no issues and enjoyed the trip. We didn't have enough time to visit the other attractions but would Dot it again. read more

Stayed at the campground because of proximity to the Silver Comet Trail. We tootled about the place and took the sky ride to the top of the mountain. You can also walk the mile up and back down for free, or pay $20 per person, round trip. The view from the top was nice and the topography was like being on an alien planet. We weren't aware that the relief carved in the side is the largest confederate memorial in the South until we got to the top. That tripped me out that Georgia's citizens pay to maintain this monument. read more

Wish we would have had a whole day to explore this beautiful park because I really would have liked to climb to the top of the Stone. There are other interesting longer hikes to do. We did do some mini-hikes and toured a couple of the sights like the Grist Mill. Being here very early on a Sunday morning was a plus because it felt like we had the park to ourselves. I can only imagine that this place must be a zoo during peak times of the year. Most of the attractions like the cable car to the top are closed during the off-season. The whole confederate memorial park looks sad and should be repurposed. I am sure that would not be popular with some in the area... Since we were only able to spend a couple of hours here the $20 entrance fee seemed steep. read more
