I've been trying to have brunch here for what feels like months. But since Stone Park is so popular, there's always a wait. And unfortunately, when I wake up hungover, I need to eat IMMEDIATELY. If food is not made available for the face-shoving, I am apt to take my (h)anger out by spitting on small children and/or kicking defenseless little puppies. Eventually, I got fed up with not eating Stone Park's food, and decided to shirk my duties for a while and stop in for a weekday lunch. (Shirking is one of my favorite things to do.) Torn between the Braised Short Rib Sandwich (bourbon BBQ sauce, cabbage slaw) and the Chicken Paillard Sandwich (cheddar, bacon, avocado, chipotle mayo), I appealed to our waiter for advice. He immediately, decisively insisted on the shortrib. If you know me at all, you know I was leaning toward the Bourbon BBQ sauce anyway. It turned out to be a good decision; the short rib was fatty and flavorful, and the slaw on top provided a bit of texture and a contrasting coolness to the juicy meat. Perhaps it could've used a better bun, but I inhaled it happily. The accompanying salad with the lemony vinaigrette was also surprisingly good, and so I felt a bit better about choosing it over the fries. Despite being so pleased with my sandwich, we both agreed that her cavatelli was even better. It's rich sauce was so silky, and the only flaw was my own: I couldn't eat every bite. Stone Park lives up to its reputation; excellent food and excellent service in an atmosphere I'd gladly return to on a date, as a group, or with someone's parents. Always love coming here for brunch, especially outside during the summer. No reservations accepted currently but the wait for 2 today at 11am was about 30 min. All the tables are properly socially distanced, very clean and adequately sanitized. The host(ess) and waiting staff are always friendly and courteous and accommodating to dogs. They all wore masks and gloves. Food comes out at a reasonable time and appropriate temperature. Brunch cocktails are delicious. Cash and credit accepted. read more

Pleasantly surprised that there was no wait for brunch on a Saturday around 10:30 am. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside. The service was excellent. The menu is interesting and unique, with many fantastic options. We tried a few dishes and all were delicious and filling. Highly recommend the eggs benedict, the spicy omelet, the short rib hash and the bluefish cakes. All come with toast and crispy potatoes (ask for their salamander hot sauce - so good!). Yay, I'm truly a fan of them! lol It's packed for the brunch, but the wait wasn't long coz we agreed to take the seats under the sun without any shade, 5 mins later we were both regret! hahaha The servers are nice, we asked to change seats and got seat inside immediately. Lucky and Thanks! My bf ordered burger and Bloody Mary, (typical American, isn't he? haha), I ordered quesadilla with fresh orange. The food was incredible, burger was really juicy and taste, the meat just well grilled, as to a quesadilla fan myself, I love it a lot. The wrap was crispy, not the as the regular one we normally have, with egg, jack cheese and good amount of heat from jalapeno, heeaven in my mouth~ ;D We got our drinks kinda late while we half done with our food, we had to remind our waitress that they forgot our drinks. But totally understandable since it's a packed Sunday. I would give 5 stars if it isn't the Bloody Mary was really bad. It's really bitter, and unbearable spicy hot! Stone Park Cafe has, over the years, become a kind of Park Slope institution. The food is consistently excellent over all the times I've been here, and the team that runs it never lets you down. My girlfriend and I went to brunch there the other day and once again we were very happy with our meal. One thing to understand, my girlfriend likes the ideas of many dishes, but when we actually order them in many restaurants, the actual dish, while good, doesn't always meet her expectations. That was not the case at Stone Park the other morning. She ordered the Short-Rib Hash, while I had the Biscuits and Gravy with a side of braised greens. Everything was amazing, seasoned well, tasty, well sized portions, and clearly fresh ingredients. She wanted to finish both of our dishes, which is a stark contrast to other brunches. Making her satisfied with her brunch is the main sign of a 5-star yelp restaurant to me. Other things to mention: love the ambience, the staff is amazing and they have a great selections of craft beers, wines, cocktails, etc. There is always a wait for brunch, unfortunately, but I never feel like we wait that long at Stone Park Cafe, especially as they can text you when your table's ready. Additionally, they serve the most amazing Salamander Hot Sauce, which is a side business of the owner. If you're a hot sauce fan, definitely needs to be tried. I want to finish by saying, that Stone Park Cafe is definitely worth the trip to Park Slope if you're not a local. However, all us locals wanna eat there too, so.... Ummmm... This is a nice place for brunch, although it would probably be a long wait if you came during normal brunch hours. I came with my fiance around 3pm Saturday and place was still somewhat busy but we were seated right away BISCUITS WITH GRAVY and side order of braised greens- my fiance ordered it and he enjoyed it. The gravy was flavorful and creamy. Biscuits were nice. The greens were interesting. It had a sour base which was somewhat refreshing. A nice counter balance to the creamy and thick gravy. He ordered poached eggs with it and they were OK. I ordered the SHORT RIB HASH with over easy eggs. It was delicious. Hash was very flavorful. It came with buttered toast, which tasted really good with the egg yolk and the hash. You can also add hot sauce or ketchup into the mix. Overall I had a pleasant brunch here. No matter how much time has passed I can come here for brunch on Sunday and the staff knows me! The food is great and the bloodies are some of the best around especially with the caper berries! Try the blood orange spritzer it's the bartenders drink and it's great so is the passion fruit mimosa! If you go with a group of friends and this is your first time here go ahead and everyone order something different and then try each other's. No one will be disappointed! Finally, I get to cross this restaurant off my list as I came here last night to enjoy an evening of delightful "south beach style" dinner with a friend. Stone Park Cafe is a small quaint corner restaurant that seems to be popular among the locals. Like their food, their restaurant is decorated with an American Style-- simple, clean and sophisticated enough to be mistaken for a neighborhood restaurant in the city, including their price tag on the menu. I ended up ordering their three-course daily market dinner special ($34) while my friend ordered their Frisee Salad with a Crispy Fried Poached Egg ($12) and their Roasted Chicken Breast Pasta Entree ($25.) Having the privilege to sample everything, I have to say, their food was certainly fresh, well prepared, flavorful and their presentation was well presented. All in all, Stone Park Cafe was enjoyable, momentarily, but I can't say the overall experience was memorable. In comparison to other New American restaurants, Stone Park Cafe was not unique or distinguished enough for me to want to come back for dinner again. Tried this for the first time for lunch and I must say, it was amazingly good! As an appetizer, we had the Frise Salad which was great! Glad I got it as a starter. They stop serving brunch at 3pm, so it's just enough time to get our orders in and dine in a quieter atmosphere. Decor is clean and modern, yet comfortable. Ambience was bright and casual for brunch. We ordered the Eggs Any Style, Eggs Benedict, Buttermilk Pancakes, and Shrimp and Grits. All of the dishes were prepared well and everything was tasty. Came here for brunch on the weekend and was amazed. The wait for a table wasn't too bad as it was later in the afternoon. Got the Eggs Benedict with sauteed potatoes and a Ginger Beer. My dish was done just right ad the Eggs were still a bit runny. Although, the potatoes lacked taste and needed S&P. The Mickey Mouse Buttermilk Pancake was close to tasty perfection as you can get. We had a 30mn wait as we had arrived during prime brunching time. I didn't like how people waiting inside had to stand right next to those who were dining..uncomfortable for both parties. Chose to wait outside, since they took down our #. Once seated, had the passion fruit which tasted like more like champagne than a fruit cocktail. Still good and better than the cranberry cocktail they offered. Had a hard time deciding what to eat (sign of a great selection from a place). Nice attentive service and casual dining experience. It can get crowded on weekends. Be forewarned though they don't serve alcohol on brunch weekends before 12 pm. Had the beef brisket hash and fried eggs. The brisket was nice and grill topped crisp the way i liked it but it didn't stand out to me. Biscuit was buttery crisp and soft as well. Wonderful biscuit but i've had better. Eggs on the omlette were a bit overcooked but the ingredients of tomato and mushroom were fresh as can be. A bit overrated for a brunch spot. I say overrated because the door was crowded with customers waiting to be seated. I was excited that I was at a place this popular assuming from its good food, but was let down by the lack of flavor in dishes. The restaurant is great at accommodating a huge crowd since their tables are so close to one another that you feel you are eating with the groups next to you. There's so little space between tables by the wall that I couldn't get seated without the server shifting our dining table forward to make way for me. We got our menus quickly, our orders were asked swiftly to the point we didn't get to fully peruse the menu, and we got our dishes at the speed of lightning. That's all fun and great, but didn't feel like a lazy brunch, more like a sprint in a race. Our dishes were just okay. I had such high hopes for the eggs benedict, which was a total disappointment. The Canadian bacon was small and thick without any saltiness or flavor to it. The thick-cut of the bacon didn't mesh well with the eggs or the hollandaise, which if it weren't for its yellow color on the poached egg, I could have argued didn't exist since it tasted much like nothing. The biscuit on the bottom of the egg tasted hard and dry for my sensitive teeth. The stone park burger was standard affair, basically what you would expect burger to taste like at any restaurant. Not sure why it was $18 here since I've had many much better tasting burgers at a cheaper rate elsewhere. The side salad next to the burger was the nicest thing during our meal. It was light and refreshing; it was the first thing to disappear from our plates. If you are looking for traditional brunch, they have all of the conventional brunch dishes, albeit without flavor. Wow wow wow. What an amazing experience! First and foremost, many props to the efforts they are taking to maintain social distancing w/i the restaurant. This was my first in-dining experience since covid started and I felt very safe. Started off with margaritas from the lovely Angela at the bar! Yummmmy. I had to do it at least once, what you wonder? try the Short Rib Hash! Who would have thought of short ribs with hash browns? I mean I really was excited when I heard about this combo, but got even more excited when I read all the positive reviews that people gave it. Stone Park was a bit of a trek to get to from downtown Brooklyn for me, so I was excited when I finally saw the restaurant just a couple mins to 3pm. I was happy it was not crazy crowded which would made us have to wait. One of our friends was already there drinking her Bloody Mary at the bar so we were able to be promptly seated. I got a really nice feel from Stone Park, it was very inviting and calm. The exposed wood beams to white decor and large bay windows allowed a great amount of sunlight into the restaurant. We choose to sit right in front to soak in all the sunny goodness. Our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. She did let us know that since the grits were so popular they had run out. Luckily for me I already knew I was getting the Short Rib Hash, so I was not disappointed but my other friends were. After reviewing the menu and locking in my choose I asked for a side of spinach to have some veggies in the mix and a glass of Bellini. I don't recall if they had a bottomless brunch so we opted for the individual cocktails. Once my meal came there was no turning back I knew it was going to be a love affair. We thought it would be a long wait but it was only 5-10 minutes. We sat inside because we were unsure about the weather. Forecast said rain but it didn't rain, surprise, surprise! I had a passion fruit champagne - strong but good! One was good enough for me! I ordered the quiche which came with fries. The quiche was kind of small. I wanted more! The fries were delicious, I enjoy them well done. My boyfriend and his mom had eggs and my boyfriend's sister had the Greek omelet. My friends and I came here for brunch on a busy Sunday morning (in the unfortunate sweet spot that is before the hipster rush but during the families-with-kids rush...) and got a table right away. While all of the brunch cocktails looked appetizing, I stuck with hot coffee. I was drawn to a few items on the food menu, but I chose the Cobb Salad - and I was thrilled I did. It was a very generous portion - topped with the usual suspects (bacon, blue cheese, avocado, etc.) but the real star of the dish was the crispy poached egg. The bruschetta appetizer was amazing and innovative, not your typical tomato bruschetta! They do however ask if you could possibly keep your pet on the outer edge, which is understandable. There is probably usually always a wait here, my friend and I waited a little longer than usual only because we were requesting a specific table to sit next to our dog. The shrimp and grits entree was pretty good, I would get it again. The eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon and spinach was outstanding! I have been here a few times, once for dinner many years ago and more recently several times for brunch. The best experience I had was getting there a few minutes before it opens so that you can have your pick of the table and don't have to wait. Our food was served so quickly this time and only less than 30 minutes we were in and out. Service felt a little bit better this time because of time before the server forgot to put in our entire order. He gave me a free drink for that. This time around we really enjoyed the French toast but they did not serve it with butter and it was a little hard to get extra condiments because everyone is rushing around. Understandable that is hard to find good waitstaff during this. The good thing is that the host seems like he has been there for quite a while and there are some other more regular staff that make sure certain things go quite well. Usually I get the pancakes and they are amazing! Similarly the egg sandwich is pretty good and interesting because it has scallions in it. For the first time I tried the sausage biscuit dish and it was good very satisfying as it should be. It is one of the few reliable places that I know I can go to and get something decent. Look, I've ordered from here a lot, and I mean, A LOT over the past few years, so I don't use this 1-star lightly. You might be wondering why, if I'm leaving a 1-star review - despite everything else I dislike, their food has almost always been really fresh. But unfortunately, Stone Park has some of the most painfully bland food I've ever had in my life, occasionally verging on actively disgusting. Very few dishes seem to be seasoned with anything other than butter, oil, cream, or salt and pepper. The occasional pop of garlic is a godsend in comparison to most dishes. But, they have a bad habit of using waaaaay too much oil in some dishes, like their sauteed spinach for instance, rendering them actually kinda greasy and gross despite the ingredients being fresh. Their brunch is mediocre at best, but their biscuits and gravy in particular is genuinely one of the most disgusting dishes I've ever eaten, and one of the saddest attempts at gravy I've ever seen. The last straw was recently when the side of mashed potatoes I ordered came with a ton of tiny, sharp metal shards throughout. That's uh... what? Did they somehow shred their blender blades into the potatoes? Needless to say, that's a pretty serious health concern, and I'm now done with this place. We had a small group and shared five starters and each had a main, then shared three desserts so I got to try a lot of the things on the menu. I'd give the food 4/5 stars. Nothing exceptional but definitely not disappointed. Service was ok too, they were attentive and filled our drinks when empty. The kitchen seemed a little slower than what I'm used to but not a big issue. Giving it a 3/5 stars because of the price. The pasta dish I had was not worth 28 dollars, I can get bigger portions and better quality for way less in other restaurants in the area. Stone Park Cafe knows hospitality. I went there to have dinner for Valentine's Day. It was an extremely cold night but the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. They had a prix-fixe menu which made things easy for me as I was pretty hungry when I got there. I had the tuna tartare for my appetizer which was done to perfection. The avocado and caviar that came with it were scrumptious. For my entree, I had the lobster risotto, which I could have eaten for the rest of my life and not complain. The risotto sauce was a perfect blend of cream, spices, and soft textures. I thought the lobster would've been the focus of that dish for me but it would've been nothing without that risotto. For dessert, I had the maple creme brûlée, which didn't disappoint. My date had the orange chocolate mousse cake and while I'm not a fan of fruit flavored chocolate, this one didn't scare me off.
