Stone Ridge is - apparently - a recovering golf course, if reviews on various golf sites are an indication. Having fallen into disrepair, it was sold and the new owners have made improvements. There's still a ways to go before one might consider this a great course but it's very playable right now. - greens are OK. The grass runs fairly true but some greens have huge brown spots. Pin locations in a couple of holes were a bit ridiculous. - fairways also OK. Some torn up spots from maintenance vehicles (which really isn't acceptable) but mostly you'll get a decent lie. - bunkers: who knows? I managed to avoid all of them. - water is a hazard on just a few holes. - layout is pretty good. Holes are interesting, not repetitive. - carts are electric and run fine. No frills. - beverage cart service was disappointing. She showed up on our second hole and was never seen again. - decent practice facilities. All in all, A-OK. If I lived nearby, I'd put Stone Ridge in the rotation. As it was, I was here for a Veteran Golfers Association tournament. read more

We came out to use the driving range. This was on a Monday. We checked the website to make sure it was open. It says it closes at 630. We got there at 520 and they would not sell us any range balls because they close at 530. They then told us, "well, it is on our door." I suggest you update your website and let people who drive out there to just come to the range, let them know that you close early on Mondays. read more

An awesome course for all levels of players! Spectacular views and versatile wildlife sightings. This course has been on the up and up for the last few years and there have been some great improvements made to the fairways and greens. read more

I loved how the place was running when the new owners took over. It ran great for awhile. Then for whatever reason they started overbooking the place. It took 3 hours to get through 5 holes with ONE GOLFER!!! This is the first and only time I have left a golf course in my life! I left after the 5th hole. I was waiting at least 30 mins at each tee box with multiple groups ahead of me that were also pissed off. read more

The course is challenging and the people are very nice and strive to make your round a memorable experience. The wildlife on the course is amazing. Coyotes beaver otter deer elk turkey ducks and geese ! read more

I have played Stone Ridge dozens of times over the last 20 years, although I haven't been there in the last couple of years. Wow, what a decline! It was always a challenging layout, with lots of hills and some narrow fairways, but if you didn't try to do too much you would be rewarded. At this point, it appears that money has been extremely tight, and new owners have taken over (I don't know how long ago). The pro shop is almost empty of merchandise, the practice green is mottled with brown spots, and the power cart we rented was unwashed and the windshield was filthy. I was expecting some issues, since they were only charging $20 per person on a Saturday, but the disrepair and apparent neglect just upon checking in was surprising. As far as the condition of the course, the drainage has always been an issue in some fairways, but that is a minor problem at this point. The tee boxes are a disaster, with little grass and haphazard placement of tee markers, plus many are simply closed and/or unattended to at all. The greens were recently plugged and sanded, so I can't speak to how they will be once they've recovered. We were warned about this, so I can't complain, but again, it seems that they just don't have enough staff to take care of normal maintenance, since some greens were sanded and others just had the holes (with piles of plugs littering the areas around the greens making it hard to even try to chip on). The grass in the fairways was wildly uneven - some areas had grass two to three inches long, others were shorter but more like shag carpet than evenly-mown grass. There were also many spots which were soggy or had standing water, which is not surprising with the recent rains we've had, but it still made it hard to navigate certain fairways and approaches to the greens. Also, just pray you don't land in a "sand trap", since many are sprouting weeds and grass. I hope the new owners have only recently taken over, and will work to bring this course back to a decent condition. I like Centennial and Eagle Point a lot, but it would be nice to have an 18-hole alternative once tournament season starts. All in all, this was the most disappointing round I have played in a long time. read more

Pretty place but they schedule tee times 8 minutes between players so you're ALWAYS waiting, waiting, waiting, no matter how good the players are in front of you.... course is in okay conditions. read more

Tried this place today for the first time -- but only went to the driving range and practice greens. Looks like a really nice place to play a round of golf. Bucket of balls were cheap ($5 lg/$3 sm), looks like greens fees aren't bad either. So close to Eagle Point and White City, it seems like a great little secret spot for a nice, inexpensive round of golf. Better than the stuffy Eagle Point course. I'll definitely be back. read more

Iv been golfing for decades and this place shocked me with how poorly it's run. They over book the mornings so you will have to spend 4 hours playing 9. They don't stagger the tee times or call them out. Total embarrassment. The tee boxes are horrid, they stopped us multiple times to ask if we paid.. we had receipts. The staff is just hilariously worthless. At the end of the day. If you want to spend 45 minutes waiting, per hole this is your course. I'll never return to this dumpster fire. read more

The worst golf course in Oregon. They were mowing while we were golfing as well as working on the course. Particles flying in our faces from the mower and he wouldn't stop while we were Teeing off. Parts of it flooding. The Ladies T boxes suck and dried out and hard and so do the greens. Will not go back. Definite decline. Terrible drainage. They will lose my business as well as others I have spoke too. I have a free game and I don't even want to use it. Word of mount baby! The only positive thing I can say is "Roger" was very nice and helpful. read more

This place is a decent city course, but it is far from consistent in what shape it's in. You'd start out with an extra 30 yards of roll from your drive, then the second shot would plug because of terrible drainage. They need to get it together read more
