Ohhhhhhh my goodness, these salads were so delicious. We ordered a full Cobb salad which is huge, small Cajun chicken Cesar salad and a bowl of the Tomato Soup. The service was very friendly. So appreciated it their kindness to these tired travelers. read more

This place is always hopping. To go orders are ready when promised. Lots of vegetarian options. Good soups. Staff are always smiling, friendly and efficient. You can get a dill pickle spear and mini cookie with your order. Nothing fancy but it makes me smile when I find those in my lunch order. read more

Wonderful soup, sandwich and salad shop (their cookies are really good too). Everything is made fresh including their bread. Staff is friendly and goes above and beyond. Great place to meet friends and catch up while enjoying a really tasty meal. I have been coming here for decades. It's a favorite spot for the locals. They offer catering. I have ordered trays of sandwiches for ladies luncheons - which are a big hit. Also, their pasta salad...any of their salads are the best! Super delish! Highly recommend this place. read more

Overall 4.5 stars. Ordered a Summer Salad for pickup, with extra egg. SUMMER SALAD: 4.5. Fresh ingredients. We ordered it with an extra egg, and shared for lunch between two of us, along with bread we had picked up elsewhere. SERVICE: 5.0. - We ordered online at night for pickup the next morning, at a specified time. The system worked well: in the morning we received notification that our order would be ready. When I picked up the order, the extra fork we had requested was included. - The woman who assisted me at pickup was very warm and kind. I use to eat at Stone Soup Cafe every time I came into town. Now that we have relocated to WW, I eat there at least once a week. Menu has many varieties, service is quick, and the food is great! The grandkids love the little cookies served, great grandma loves the soup and my vegetarian husband has several items to choose from. My girlfriend and I were wondering around Downtown Walla Walla WA, and we decided to try something new! A sandwich and soup shop named "Stone Soup" was near by. The shop was small but cute and clean! The employees were helpful and friendly. My girlfriend and I split the turkey ranch sandwich and both had soup. The price was fair and reasonable. However, the food was slow to arrive to our table. I think we waited for approximately 20-25 minutes for the sandwich and soup. Nevertheless, the food was amazing and it was just enough to fill both of us up on a cold winter day! It was very crowded and a but intimidating when I went to order. I felt a tad rushed, but I ended up getting tomato soup to eat there, and half a egg salad to go separately. They got my name and apparently it sat in the bag. The egg salad on sourdough was smushed a bit. It was good, but I wasn't taken by flavor. The mini cookie was a nice touch. Amazing little sandwich shop that sells soup. I had the creamy curry mushroom soup and the New Yorker. Soup was amazing. Sandwich was really good coleslaw made the marble rye a little soggy but still very tasty. Will definitely go back, this time for the Reuben. read more

Stone Soup Cafe is located in Walla Walla, Washington. I have to chuckle when I hear the name Walla Walla, Washington. As a kid I heard this city referenced in Bugs Bunny cartoons when he would do his sales pitch from the "Wishy Washy Washing Machine Company from Walla Walla, Washington. I digress. We were wine tasting and as Long Duk Dong would say, "Donger need food". Stone Soup Cafe was highly recommended by the wineries we had visited that morning. We ordered at the counter; wife had half grilled cheese with a cup of broccoli cheddar soup and I ordered the special cajun chicken ceasar wrap. Order was delivered to our table rather quickly. My wrap was huge and bursting with flavor and my wife's grilled cheese was good but she was not as impressed with the soup. Each order receives a little chocolate chip cookie included as a bonus. The cafe has plenty of seating and tables were spread out as per C-19 restrictions. Stone Soup Cafe was a wonderful choice for lunch especially after a morning of tasting wine. If Bugs was still making cartoons, I am sure he would mention the Stone Soup Cafe from Walla Walla, Washington. Worth a try! read more

I was expecting awesome soup, since it seems like a restaurant that specializes in soup. I ordered the baked potato soup and I had to throw the whole bowl out once I got home. It was like eating cream sauce. Straight butter, flour, milk. Just totally inedible. There were possibly 5 very small potato chunks, but no bacon (not that bacon is mandatory, but it seems standard), maybe there was some onion? No flavor, not even salt. It was truly inedible, unless you like to eat plain, thick cream sauce. The grilled cheese, however, was superb! read more

Not bad at all. I had the special of the day, which was a smoked turkey salad sandwich. The flavor of the meat was quite good, and the portion was good for the price. I also had a cup of the hamburger soup, which was OK. I didn't expect the bits of barley (or grain of some sort) in the soup, and didn't taste as much like hamburger as I had hoped. Otherwise the venue was clean, service was fast, and the staff was friendly. I would eat here again, but I would stick to the sandwiches. read more

Summary: Outstanding Sandwiches & Soup While passing through Walla Walla recently, we Google'd "Walla Walla Restaurant" to find something good to eat - and discovered a few reviews raving about Stone Soup. This piqued our interest, so we plugged the address (105 E Alder St.) into our GPS and off we went. Stone Soup is a couple streets off the main drag (if there is such a thing) in Walla Walla, in a quiet area - we arrived about 3PM and were easily able to find free street parking. The restaurant was fairly empty - it appears that their busy time is lunch, but I can't verify how crowded it is then. We each ordered sandwiches (veggie for my wife, turkey for my son, and I had the Deli sandwich), and each was fresh and delicious. The sandwiches were made and delivered quickly, and the prices were reasonable. The place itself is clean and well-lit and, if it warms up a bit more, the outside seating area would be a nice place to eat. The people working here were friendly and helpful. This is *exactly* the type of place I wanted to find. People, if you're in Walla Walla and want a good sandwich at a reasonable price, you'd be hard pressed to do better than Stone Soup. Too bad I can't find something like this in the Bellevue, WA area... read more

Poor Walla Walla. Based on the busy flow, people really don't have much choice here. The potato salad was super blah! The Reuben was so oddly cooked it was like the cheese had been cooked days before the rest. The so-called Enchilada soup is a nightmare concoction that only those who live on TV dinners would call good or great. The cookie was nice and the two treats I took for a friend turned out ok. Turns out it is a good bakery, but should leave the food part behind. I was asked to use them as a caterer for an office lunch....I'm really not happy about that. The cashier was nice, but the unfriendly wierdos that brought the meals around were a real downer. read more

The owner is the most accommodating when our Men's basketball team came to Walla Walla. His cafe was closed on Sat but he came in specifically to prepare and serve our team. The boys loved the hearty and large sandwiches and all the fixins; and had an amazing dining experience after driving miles to get there. Aaron provided such a high level of service and welcomed the boys with a sign on the front door. A sure place for our team to come every year. Highly recommend!! read more

I think Stone Soup is top notch! I've loved all the soups I've had there, especially the chicken enchilada that is now a permanent feature on their menu! It's not too thick to be overwhelming but still warm and filling. I've only had a couple of their sandwiches and they're pretty good. They have a lot of bread options. I wouldn't say that they are particularly special, just a general good sandwich. One thing I like is that they point out a few lite sandwiches on their menu if you are looking for a healthier option. They dish out orders pretty fast, you only have to wait for a couple minutes. Best part? They give you a little cookie! It's a nice little sandwich shop atmosphere and I usually bump into someone I know there! read more

Youre retort is a lie. You did not talk about vine ripened tomatoes and i am aware of the difference. It doesnt change the fact that they were left out too long and mushy and your cucumbers flat and not crunchy. I am not obligated to tip the driver. It wasnt a pleasant experience. You clearly cant please everyone. Trying to make me look bad makes your business unappealing and unprofessional from a customer pov. Amazing! I can't believe I've never ordered from here! After a bad experience over the phone with Graze shortly before I made this order... Stone Soup's food is not only pretty awesome but their customer service is definitely excellent. I love this place, I come here 3 times a week. The service is great everyone is friendly and never acts like they don't want to be there or like it is an imposition to serve you. Food is quick and always fresh, no wilting lettuce or tomatoes past their prime. Bathrooms are clean and not at all scary, greatly recommend this place, hope to see you there!! read more

Stone soup Cafe did a great job of having our sandwiches ready and hot when we arrived for pickup. We had a Women's Basketball team with 25 orders, and the staff was well prepared to have everything ready for us on schedule. We appreciate them working with us. And 8 times out of 10 I've paid and left by 8pm. Today I got here at 7:48 exactly. There were 4-5 cars here and a handful of people at one of the picnic tables eating. I pulled up and started doing some work on my phone waiting to give my order. It was around 8:05 when I realized how long it had been. There were still some cars here so I assumed they were catching up. Well now it is 8:19 and they turned the lights out. The guys inside are looking down trying to avoid eye contact. So bizarre. Why couldn't they have come over and said that it was too late? Or literally anything. I'm parked in the second stall from the front. I very rarely write reviews. When I do it's to alert others to something I wish I had known before I came. Something that woukd have made me go there or stopped me from coming here. This is obviously the latter. If I had a cranky child, parent or wife with me, or needed to eat before a show or movie or something it would have ruined my night and possibly year (slightly exaggerated but you get the point). I won't be back. This wasn't a misunderstanding or slightly off food or a minor menu discrepancy. This was blatantly rude and very very easily avoided. It's 8:26 and I'm finishing up this review and about to head to Ice Berg. The employees are inside stil and avoiding eye contact. It's too bad because I did like this place but I won't be back and I'll add some humor to this story and make it a short story that I'll tell others about when this place comes up in conversation. It's now 8:32. I've been here 44 minutes and they're obviously closed and nobody has said a word to me. If it was my first time here I would have left at 8:00 and not had a bad thing to say at all ! Met with several people. Shook a lot of hands. Looked at some things. One guy had a map. By about 6pm I had done basically everything a businessman can legally do in one day so I decided to get dinner. Went to TMACS. Sat at the bar because I was by myself and sitting at a table by yourself makes it look like someone is coming. Nobody was coming. The lady gave me the menu. I told her I wasnt very hungry. She recommended the octopus. I said lets do it. I have always respected the octopus because it has 8 arms and still doesnt have a job. Octopus came out. Very good. Charred on the outside. Tender inside. Had some sauce and other things around it. I ate all of those too. At this point I was no longer hungry which had been the original goal. Then she asked what I wanted for dinner. This caught me off guard because I thought the octopus had counted. She recommended the bolognese. I said lets do that too. This is one thing I like about restaurants. You can just keep ordering. Bolognese came out and immediately became a serious situation. Big wide pasta. Rich meat sauce. Parmesan. Everything stuck to everything correctly. I dont know who invented bolognese but they understood that sometimes spaghetti needs more stuff on it. Very good. Halfway through dinner a glass broke. Everybody heard it. For about 2 seconds the entire restaurant became about the glass. Then it wasnt anymore. Incredible recovery. I talked to the staff quite a bit because I was at the bar and thats where they keep the staff. Very friendly people. One of the waitresses told me she had never been outside Walla Walla. I had just driven there from Bend Oregon. Between the two of us we had been to at least 2 places. I told her Bend is nice. She said Walla Walla is nice. We made a lot of progress. Then they started talking about the goat milk cheesecake. I reminded them I wasnt hungry. This information had not helped me earlier and did not help me now. Ordered the goat milk cheesecake. Very good cheesecake. I dont normally know what animal the milk came from when I eat cheesecake so it was nice having that information upfront. Goat did a great job. At this point I had eaten octopus, cow and goat in about 90 minutes. Basically toured the farm. Then I learned the restaurant was originally T. Maccarone's because the founder's actual last name is Maccarone. This guy was born with the last name Maccarone and opened a restaurant with pasta. Sometimes life tells you what to do. If his last name had been Hamburger this could have been a completely different place. Eventually they changed the name to TMACS which is much faster to say. Smart. I paid the bill. Everyone said goodbye. I walked back to my hotel extremely full even though I had entered the restaurant not hungry. That is a 100% increase in hunger elimination. I dont give investment advice but these are strong numbers. Excellent octopus. Excellent bolognese. Excellent goat cheesecake. Excellent staff. Glass situation resolved. Would recommend TMACS to anyone who is in Walla Walla and needs food. If you are not in Walla Walla you will need to get here first. 5 stars.

In California, when an item listed in a meal is unavailable, the server tells that to the customer and asks if they still want that menu item. We were not offered a discount. We were not provided with the grilled baguette or a substitute item. We were charged full price. Again, this is not how restaurants operate in California but maybe this is normal for TMACS? Your food is worth the price, but not if it isnt going to be served as represented on your menu. 10 points on the quality of your food, 2 points for misrepresenting your menu.
