Good selection of food in an inspiring equestrian atmosphere. Well made creations using locally sourced and organic ingredients. A real breath of fresh air for an avid vegetarian because most options are vegetarian friendly. Our waitress was nice and helpful but she was LOUD. Maybe it was the acoustics or maybe it was her. There's also prepped dishes which are frozen and available for final heating/cooking at home. This is a nice cozy little lunch/dinner spot where you can show up in work clothes and still feel at home. Great room in the back with a warm fireplace and outdoor dining for nice sunny days. The food is good if not a bit pricey for Landrum, but fun and friendly atmosphere and nice staff. The only disappointing part was the desserts (they look MUCH better than they taste), but otherwise the food is very good. Also, would recommend that they serve fresh trout instead of frozen since they are so close to the mountains and it would be easy to get and make:) read more

We dine here often and love it! Great lunches and we enjoy dinner too! A bit more pricey at dinner but usually good value for what you get. Local and sustainable as much as possible but I see the Cisco truck pull in also. They haven't embraced the gluten free movement yet with bread options but many dishes and salads can be wheat free. Most salad dressings are made there...GREAT atmosphere! The dog park is a plus!!! Order lunch outside and dine with your pooch! This option will be AMAZING in the cooler weather! We are staying at a B&B and the owner recommended Stone Soup so glad she did it a wonderful fresh farm to table restaurant. The waitress Gabrielle was so nice and right there when you needed her. My husband ordered the hamburger with fried green tomatoes & pimento and cheese on it with a side of homemade potato salad. He loved it! I had the chicken with a side of pasta which had great flavor. Wonderful spot. Decor and space itself are very inviting. We had lunch on a weekday. Kale soup which was good and had a kick. Hunter's soup with pork and sausage. Unusual and delicious. Then a salmon BLT with applewood bacon on a crusty bread. Yum! Splurged on their signature dessert made with dates topped with ice cream. So good. High quality, unique dishes, well prepared. I have been going to Stone Soup for over a year now and also tried to support them during the pandemic. I went there after they were opening to the public and got very bad treatment. First I was told very rudely that we couldn't eat inside without a mask. My husband asked how we're we suppose to eat duh! She did not instruct us on where to go or if she was going to seat us outside. We finally asked if we should go out and find a seat as we saw that on the side of the building was a seating area so we went and took a seat. Our waitress turned out to be the rude person. She came out with a mask and no gloves and handed us menus. I made a comment that she did not have gloves as she was walking away. She heard obviously and brought out condiments with here gloves on, but at this point it really didn't matter I had already handled the menu and got her germs all over my hands. I am trying hard to understand any of the necessities of this if it is not practiced by the staff. Before we left the same waitress pulled her mask down with no gloves and chit chatted with a table full of people while not practicing safe distancing. The food is good but I may never go back there as the manager should think this through because I still don't see or understand how we can eat with masks on! read more

Wow!! What a find. If you are in the area or just passing through on I-26, do yourself a favor and take a minute (or hour) to try Stone Soup. I was in the area, stopped for lunch and had the fried green tomatoes with bacon jam and Mahi taco with mango chutney. Seriously good eats, folks!! The wine selection has a nice range and trends toward the higher price points, and the baked goods looked and smelled AMAZING. If you have your pet, no problem. There's a fence dog park out back to let your pet roam free while you enjoy a true culinary gem. My new favorite spot in the foothills. read more

I just had lunch at Stone Soup and I was extremely disappointed. I have an 8 lb service dog who is 11 years old and is a registered service dog. I take her with me everywhere and she's very friendly and not yappy (she does not bark). Also, I am a disabled Vietnam-era veteran and rely on my dog's support. I have taken my dog to Stone Soup before without any problems and I am a local. I was seated at a remote table and proceeded to put Bonita on a chair. After I ordered my lunch, this lady approached me and said, "you CANNOT put her on the chair and you must put her on the floor!" I replied to her, "no one told me that," and "I wouldn't have ordered food if I could not have my dog on the chair." She didn't say a word and just kept going. I felt she was very rude as she could have said look this is our restaurant policy and approached me in a positive light. But she didn't and she harbored a lot of negative energy, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist - Master's level and if that woman is working at Stone Soup and spewing negative energy, then someone needs to have a talk with her. She knows who she is - blond hair. I relayed to the waitress and hostess what this lady said to me and they said that they did not know that was the policy for all service animals to be put on the floor. If that is Stone Soup's position to have all service animals put on the floor, then every employee must know the policy!!! read more

Quaint little place with excellent service but mediocre food - dessert was stale.

The food was great. My husband and I both had the smoked turkey sandwich with a small field greens salad with balsamic dressing that was to die for!! I would have given it 5 stars but it took 50 minutes to get our food. Service very slow and the locals seemed to be okay with it so it must be the norm. Guess they are on mtn time. Just a small out of the way place in Landrum with some of the most amazing food in the area. The Sunburst trout is to die for and the Sea Bass had my girlfriend going on and on about how wonderful it was. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and we never had to find some one to refill drinks etc. Could not more highly recommend. read more

We had heard good things about this restaurant, but we were terribly disappointed. My wife ordered the roasted chicken, which tasted bland to the point of tasting like boiled chicken. There was also this mess of artichokes, black eyed peas, and pearl onions on her plate that was nasty. My 6 and 7 year old split a meatloaf plate, with mashed potatoes, and collard greens, and also had a side of macaroni and cheese, which the hostess had bragged about as she sat us. The meatloaf was a little dry and mediocre at beast. The mashed potatoes were horrible. My children hated them, my wife hated them, and I hated them. How do you screw up mashed potatoes? And to top it off, the mac and cheese was dry and tasteless. The collard greens were very good. Because everything else on the menu was so expensive, I ordered their hamburger, which wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It came with homemade crinkle cut fries, and cost $12, which is a pricey hamburger with BBQ sauce on it. My wife's half roasted chicken, which she left most of on the plate and declined a doggy bag, cost a whopping $19. The mediocre meatloaf plate with the side of mac and cheese was $14 plus $3. I had two fat Tire beers that cost $10, bringing the bill to $65 for some of the worse food I've ever tasted. I didn't feel like tipping anything, but you can't blame the waitress for the food, so I left her $10, which I usually tip at least 20%, but this food was so bad. I've owned three restaurants, and I've eaten in good restaurants all around the world, and this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences that I've ever had. I guess there is not much competition in Landrum, but we wouldn't eat there again for free. read more

You need to go the Stone Soup. We went to Stone Soup on a Friday evening without a reservation, on a weekend when the nearby equestrian center was running a big show. So, they were slammed. Nevertheless, we were worked in with aplomb and were pleasantly surprised to get a table in less than the promised 20 mins. The 3 person wait staff handled the crowd like it was no big deal and we felt like we got plenty of prompt attention. I had the Cabernet Braised Beef Short Ribs and my companion the Chicken Marsala. Both excellent. Many times a Chicken Marsala has disappointingly little actual Marsala flavor. Not so at Stone Soup. One of the best I've ever tasted. We liked the place so much, we made a reservation for Saturday night (the next day). This time the equestrian crowd was gone and the place was quieter. Not only did the staff recognize us, we were treated like favorite regulars! We went a little cheaper/lighter this night. I had the French Burger and my companion the Quesadilla. Again, both superb. If you are too full for dessert, get a brownie to go, you won't be sorry you did. read more
