    Chicken salad with balsamic dressing

Hubby found this little restaurant on a map while I was driving and it sounded like a nice local place to eat lunch rather than having fast food or going to a chain restaurant. The restaurant specializes in using local ingredients and the food was top notch. The Nutty Chicken Salad is a green salad WITH nuts, chicken, and fruit, rather than a southern chicken salad. The portion was generous and filling. Hubby's quesadilla was made with what looked to be a spinach wrap and he said it was tasty. The fry I "stole" from his plate was crispy and enjoyable. The iced tea was refreshing and our server got me a to-go cup for the road when we left. We also took a "Whoppers" cookie with us for a sweet treat. Stopping at Stone Soup was definitely an excellent choice in our travels!

Cozy restaurant in Landrum, SC with indoor and outdoor spaces. Attentive service and amazingly fresh food! We visited around 3:00 on a Friday in January 2026. The place was pretty empty, but we loved that. The menu is amazing! We had the fried green tomatoes, a California Cobb salad, and a Black & Blue Steak salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Loved the equestrian decor, which pays homage to the history of Landrum. We will definitely be back!

They're open during construction. We stopped for lunch. It proved to be fantastic! Service was friendly and quick! Food was delivered quickly. Our server checked on us frequently. Highly recommended! We will be back!

Very cute spot in a small town. We're from California so of course we ended up getting the California pizza it hit the spot! We both love wood fired pizza with complex flavor and unique toppings. The staff was overwhelmed by the busy day, but we were served fairly quickly. One of my favorite parts was the beautiful room we were seated in. Lots of natural light and great ambience. Wish we had room for dessert, it sounded like they had a lot of delicious options.

Turn on the street just after the restaurant to get to the parking. Food was good. Mojito was kind of a joke. The Mediterranean plate app was great. The flies were a bit too much. Initial seating was directly under a dripping vent but they did move us when we asked them to. Live music is always a plus. If we are back this way, we'd stop back but bring some fly repellent. Did I forget to mention the flies? I mean for an indoor restaurant there really was WAY too many flies. Drink station is literally in front of the bathroom. Pitchers of beverages open with no coverings. Kind of gross the more I think about it.

Stopped in on our way to Saluda and glad we did. Shrimp and grits and wedge salad are outstanding.

What a great place. Fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese has great flavor. Worth the stop plus they have outside eating with your dog.

This was my first trip to South Carolina and the first stop was Southern Manners - it did not disappoint! We had a huge group of ladies to celebrate our bride and the staff were all fabulous - big shout out to our cashier/server, Jaden! He was amazing and so accommodating with our 19 top. The ordering was as smooth as it could be and Jaden made sure to go around asking any questions he had about the orders. The food came out relatively quick considering how many people we had and I really appreciate the staff. The pricing was very reasonable and i would recommend if you're looking for a real home-y feeling restaurant with good food! In regards to ordering, we had special accommodations because we were a big group, but normal flow has customers ordering and paying when they walk in the door and then the food is brought to your table. It has a fast food vibe, but I didn't mind it! The line moved pretty quick while we were there. Can't wait to go back!

The atmosphere is cozy, low-lit, and perfect for date night, a celebration, or honestly just when you want a really good meal with phenomenal service. It's not huge, and judging by how packed it was when we arrived, I'd definitely recommend reservations. We had one of the later seating times near closing, but the place was still buzzing. There's even a second room with a gorgeous long bar that gives off upscale neighborhood hangout vibes. Service was flawless from the start. We were seated immediately and had water in our glasses within minutes. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and somehow had us in and out in about 40 minutes without ever making us feel rushed. That's an art form. Drink-wise, my boyfriend was happy to find some local beers after our brewery-hopping adventure earlier in the day. I ordered a cocktail that sounded good and asked if they could make it spicy... maybe throw in some jalapeños or something. They didn't just accommodate, they elevated. They swapped in a spicy-infused spirit, and it paired perfectly with my wood-fired roasted corn pizza topped with cilantro and jalapeño crema. Absolute flavor bomb that paired perfectly! My boyfriend's meatloaf with mushrooms and mashed potatoes was equally impressive. No notes, just clean plates. We started with the ceviche, and it was outstanding. Fresh, bright, and so flavorful that we started dipping our homemade pita into it. Speaking of the pita, that was honestly my only minor miss (and it wasn't even a miss lol). As a carb enthusiast, I wanted a little more salt and flavor, but that's nitpicking in what was otherwise an exceptional meal. Hearth & Herron is the kind of place every small town wishes it had. Thoughtful food, top-notch service, and an atmosphere that punches way above its weight class. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Hendersonville and recommend you do the same!
