They admitted to "thinking" that this was going to be a problem, but gave no warning OR resolution. I honestly couldn't believe my ears. For a professional shop that seems to be family owned, this is DEFINITELY not their passion. They are only in to make the biggest, quick buck possible. I think of them every day that I attempt to squeeze out on to my balcony. By the way, they charged $4000 for 11 windows. 4 of which are the above mentioned French doors that don't open because of the valance design. 3 more of which were installed crooked or hit the track when raising and lowering. So, overall, great job on 4 total windows! Try 3 day blinds or home depot if you are in the market. Shop around and be smart because this place is an example of how they will take advantage of you.

Went to the Vertical Blinds Factory and was waited on right away by Sal. Sal knew immediately what I needed and sold me my replacement brackets. I was in & out of the store in 5 minutes. Jim Senior and Junior arrived when they said they would, answered all our questions, and took measurements carefully. A few days later, we received an estimate, as promised. The windows were ordered two days after we signed the contract, and we received a text to let us know that was the case. When the windows arrived (a week before we expected them), we received a call to schedule installation, and a few days later, Peter and Chris arrived with the windows. They worked in tandem flawlessly, and despite the fact that this happened to take place on the coldest week in December, we did not freeze, because the work was done so efficiently, one window at a time, doors kept shut to limit drafts as much as possible. They also worked quietly (no music blaring, no loud conversations), were respectful of our property, and kept the environment very clean. They took a 30-minute break for lunch, and worked continuously the rest of the time. This took about 4 days. When they were finished, two painters came to patch holes in the woodwork and paint the filler strips. A few days after the job was completed, Jim Wilson Senior came to inspect it. We pointed out a few places where there had been minor damage on our walls during the window installation process. He took responsibility for it, and agreed to pay for those few areas to be repainted. He contacted the painters who then contacted us, and the job was done professionally in one afternoon. The entire process was seamless. We were fearing the idea of having 19 windows replaced. Wilson Home Restorations and their team made the experience painless. They are serious and organized. When my husband's job relocated us to the Chicago area from California, we were under a tight…read moretimeframe to find and buy a new home. Quite by accident we found the community of Hawthorn Place by Icon Building Group located in Hawthorn Woods. Right from the start, we were impressed with the quality of the homes built by Icon. We looked at three different homes that were available at that time and fell in love with the first one that we originally walked through. We met Charlie Murphy, the owner of Icon that first day. Lucky for us, his office just happened to be located in the model home in our new neighborhood. We did our research on Icon, and discovered they have at least 10 new home communities throughout the Chicagoland area and also specialize in new custom homes and remodeling. Their homes are hands down gorgeous - whether new builds or remodels. From start to finish, Charlie was super to work with. What really made our experience great was his availability. He would answer all of our calls, texts, or e-mails no matter what time of the day. The whole process felt very personal. While our new home was near perfect to what we were looking for, there were a few things on our wish list that we wanted. Right from the start, Charlie put us in touch with his Design Center manager, Angela, who started the process while we were still back in California preparing for our move. Our project included adding a basement bar/kitchen with an island, a feature wall w/floating shelves (Charlie's idea) and a built-in electric fireplace in the great room, crown molding throughout the downstairs, and extra cabinets in the laundry room. What we liked most about working with Angela is that she helped us make decisions that kept the rooms in harmony overall - especially the finished basement. Sometimes it was hard to visual the finished look, and she helped us by showing us pictures and different samples as we decided on tile, cabinets, backsplash etc. She was also very patient when we had a few changes along the way. Rachel, our lead project manager, was invaluable during the entire project. She was always courteous, on time, helpful and above all resourceful. Rachel did an excellent job of communicating exactly what was going on the entire time. She stayed in constant communication with all of the contractors, and addressed any issues that came up regarding scheduling, materials, etc. What we liked the most was that she would stop by nearly every day that work was being done, to make sure everything was on track and give us updates. We know we weren't her only project, but we sure felt like it. As with any projects, a few hiccups came up along the way, but anytime this happened the Icon team was quick to respond and resolve the issue. We would like to especially thank Joe, Icon's VP of Purchasing & Design who came to the rescue several times when we needed to make some last-minute changes on a few design choices and clear up some miscommunication. He was very fair and reasonable with his solutions, and we were happy with the outcome. Lastly, we want to give a shout out to Sandy, our Service/Warranty manager. While all of the exciting upgrades were happening, she was available to resolve any issues we identified during the original walkthrough. She was responsive and professional. Everything on our list was followed up on and resolved to our satisfaction. We love our new Icon home, and the upgrades we had done turned out better than we even imagined. From the beginning, Robert stood out because of his extensive knowledge of ProVia products, window installation, and the industry as a whole. He took the time to answer my questions and explain my options, which gave me confidence that I was making the right decision. The installation itself presented an unexpected challenge when the crew discovered that my original windows had virtually no existing frame. They had to build new framing, which required additional lumber, but it was the right solution and not entirely unexpected given the age of my home. I was also impressed that the team completed the installation of my second-floor condo in under five hours without using scaffolding. They also went above and beyond by concealing some unattractive roof flashing that had always bothered me, which made a noticeable difference in the finished appearance. The final result looks fantastic. I've received numerous compliments from neighbors and even other contractors on both the style of the new windows and the quality of the installation. No project is without a few hiccups, and I did have a handful of post-installation issues. Shortly after installation, the secondary bottom lock on the sliding door would not engage, the screen needed adjustment, and the door required more effort than expected to close and lock. Robert personally came out, adjusted the sash and locking mechanism, and the door now glides effortlessly and locks exactly as it should. On another visit, Robert replaced a weatherstripping bulb seal on one of the casement windows that had been manufactured too long and wasn't sealing properly. He also cleaned adhesive residue that had been left on the exterior glass after installation. While the cleanup inside and around the work area was very good, the adhesive marks on the outside of a second-floor window were difficult for me to access, so I appreciated that he came out promptly to take care of them. Overall, my only suggestion would be a more thorough quality-control inspection immediately following installation. While I understand that new windows and doors may need minor adjustments after settling into the home, catching a few of these items before the project was considered complete could have eliminated a couple of return trips. What truly sets Window Door Pro apart is Robert's commitment to customer service. He stood behind his work, responded quickly to every concern, and made sure everything was corrected to my satisfaction. It's refreshing to work with a company that doesn't disappear after the installation. I would confidently recommend Window Door Pro to anyone looking for quality products backed by exceptional service. The only reason I did not give a five-star rating is because I believe a more thorough quality-control inspection immediately after installation could have identified and corrected these minor issues before they became service calls.
