My experience working with All Star was great from start to finish and exactly what you would hope for in a contractor. Dave responded quickly to evaluate the project, he was attentive to my concerns and what I needed, and he presented me with a range of quality and price options. Based on my research and competing quotes, the cost for my chosen option was reasonable. I wanted better windows and I knew they would take a while longer to manufacture. Unfortunately, we were up against a deadline with winter coming and weren't able to sneak the job in before the weather turned consistently bad. It was definitely worth waiting for though. On the day of installation, the crew arrived on time, were very professional, and they did a fantastic job. We had Siding and Windows Group come out among a batch of 4 other companies for a roof and siding…read morereplacement after last August's hail damage. Here's how they stood out: They had excellent communication. From Angelo's estimate all the way to passing inspection, they were on top of their game. The estimate had every combination of options listed with exactly what they were going to do and photos of the planned work. We were assigned a field supervisor (Justin, I believe?) who would come out on the same day to inspect any issues we brought up. Our contact with the office via Cindy and Anthony was also superb and always timely. The work was done swiftly and well. The roofers were done before I got back from work. Siding and gutters are more involved, but they did excellent there as well and Roman et al. were excellent to work with, took feedback very well (see communication above), and were very hard and efficient workers. All in all, we were done with our project long before other houses in the same subdivision who had all signed up with doorknocker companies, and they delivered a high level of quality. To be clear, their estimate was slightly higher (my gut says 10% higher, but it's been a while since I reviewed the proposals) than some other offers we received, but for the work that we were doing, level of customization, and communication, we wouldn't make a different choice. I can't say I was thrilled when we were in the middle of a bathroom renovation and already pouring…read moreway too much $ for our home and we discovered (thanks to a few rainy days) that we needed new french doors leading out to our backyard. I'm usually not one to spend time getting a bunch of quotes and just rely on Yelp reviews to make a purchasing decision, but this was pricey enough purchase that i figured I should do my due diligence.' Siding & Windows Group was one of the 4 companies I had come out for a quote. We ended up with them for a few reasons: - Their quote was competitive - They were able to spray paint the interior trim with our existing paint color - They were able to match the exterior trim as closely as possible to our windows outside - Anthony at Siding & Windows Group was very responsive We placed the order on August 22nd, which is my bday. I can't say new doors was what i wanted for my bday, but i guess this is being a homeowner in your 40s. The new doors weren't installed until November 6th and we just hoped for no big storms and got lucky. Anthony checked in a few times on when they'd be installed and pushed it back a few days due to other projects. The actual installation took about a day, which wasn't too bad. A week later they came to spray paint, which honestly seemed like a much bigger project than installing the doors. That took 2 days and went smoothly, although there was a little confusion about them not knowing what color to paint, etc. It turned out beautifully and while the doors look very similar to our old doors I like the look of these even better. The exterior finish isn't a perfect match, but i think a big part of that is our old paint on our windows as faded. One day we'll touch it all up, but for now we're looking forward to a break in paying for anything for the house. I learned there are a lot of companies in the area for new windows/doors, but we were satisfied with this one and would use them again.

Tony was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The pricing was comparable to another estimate we received, but we are confident that these windows are better quality and will last longer. They included a fix for a hole in our siding without trying to upsell us for all new siding. We ordered in October and the manufacturer had our windows ready for installation in December. The crew that came out were so friendly and very respectful of our home. Scheduling the installation, painting, cleanup, and finishing touches was a breeze. The winter weather did make it difficult for the crew to clean up nails and debris on the outside, but they did come back when it was warmer to clean up. We look forward to hiring them for other services, possibly roof and siding.

My home was sorely in need of an exterior renovation. 1970's aluminum siding had chalked off the…read morepaint, caulk had either disappeared or hardened like rocks, weather worn soffit and fascia. It was a mess. I carefully researched companies that did exterior work. I ultimately chose Olson on the basis of their reputation of doing high-quality work. Shortly thereafter I met with the project manager (Joe H) and he was helped me get the colors and materials picked and ordered and the project was underway. When the install day arrived, I was introduced two a 2-man work crew that would be handling the bulk of the work. In the course slightly more than a week, they totally rebuilt the full exterior of my home. The results are amazing and the home feels new again! Two things really stood out to me and my experience with Olson. 1). The work ethic of that two-man crew. They worked as hard as anyone I have ever seen. Except for lunch, work was non-stop from sunrise to sunset. This was hard and grueling work, especially the demolition of the old siding and stone fascia. They showed up every day like clockwork, and cleaned up after each day. 2). The quality of work they demonstrated. They absolutely knew what they were doing, and they were very good at it. Everything was installed true, level, without gaps, etc. Caulk lines were perfect etc. Everywhere they worked you could see the pride in what they do, and it was very clear there were no shortcuts taken. These two gentlemen were expert craftsman and I can gratefully say my house now reflects that. It turned out more beautiful than I'd ever imagined. I have never nor will ever receive any compensation for this review. My sole motivation for writing is to share the positive experience I had with Olson. Finding a trustworthy company for a project of this size and investment is daunting. Olson, especially their work crew, deserves recognition for a job well done. I can recommend them without hesitation for their quality work and attention to detail. They should be proud of their accomplishments, and I am proud of it too.

In August 2025 a hailstorm caused significant damage to the exterior of my house. I ended up having…read moreto replace the roof, the siding, the gutters and downspout, the garage doors and a number of additional items. Thank God, that with the exception of my deductible, it was all covered and paid for by my insurance company, USAA. After meeting with several contractors and doing my due diligence I decided the best company to do the work on my house was Suburban Customer Builders. And in retrospect I am so glad I chose them as they were great to work with and did a truly exceptional job on my house. My friends and neighbors say that it looks like a brand new house rather than one that is almost 40 years old. While there were a number of factors that set Suburban Custom Builders apart from the other contractors I considered, I think the deciding factor for me was the quality of the materials they would be using were far superior to what the other contractors were offering at the price approved by my insurance company. For example, Suburban Customer Builders replaced my roof with level 4 rated high impact shingles that offer much greater protection from hail and wind damage than standard shingles which is what the other contractors said they would be using. As an added bonus most insurance companies offer a premium discount for installing this type of roof because of the added protection it offers against hail and wind damage. Personally, after the installation of my new roof, USAA significantly reduced the premiums on my homeowner's policy. In conducting their inspection of my house, which took place after an inspection had already been performed by an adjuster from my insurance company, Suburban Custom Home Builders found items that they felt that USAA should be covering but weren't, most notably the need to install new skylights, so they send in documentation to support their contention that these additional items should be covered and paid for and after reviewing the documentation USAA agreed and allocated funds to cover the installation of new skylights and the other items Suburban Custom Builders had requested coverage for. The project manager for the work done on my house was Tammy Harrison and she was great. She was very personable and easy to work and was also very knowledgeable and extremely diligent in ensuring t the work done on my house was done in a timely and efficient manner. She oversaw the entire process from start (helping me pick out colors for the roof and siding) to the finish (when Suburban Custom Builders sent in the final paperwork to my insurer, USAA, showing that all work they authorized had been completed). The various crews that worked on my house arrived on time, did their work in a professional manner and cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. Tammy reviewed their work to make sure that it met the high standards both she and Suburban Custom Builders set and in several instances had them comeback to make a few minor changes she thought needed to be made that I never would have ever noticed. I guess in summary I would say that I am very happy that I chose Suburban Custom Builders to do the work on my house, was very satisfied with the work done and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done on the exterior of their house. I would strongly recommend that if you had any storm damage or think that you might have any storm damage that you contact Tammy Harrison of Suburban Custom Builders at 1-847-529-8049 and she will arrange for them to come out and do a free inspection of your home. Then they promptly sent me a quote later that day. The price was great and everything comes with a lifetime warranty, including labor! I replaced all of the windows at my home in Lincolnwood. It took about 3 weeks to be custom made and 1 day to install. The installers did an amazing job! So fast, helpful, moved my furniture and installed all of the windows, put foam insulation around the frames and capped everything on the outside in aluminum. I can already notice the difference in temperature in my house. It looks beautiful. I had a question about how to work one of the windows a few weeks later and called Semko, and they came right out to show me how to use it the same day! They came out to measure everything we needed, quoted us on what we wanted and a few other optional windows as well since we were debating on doing everything at once. After selecting the quote for the windows we wanted to get done, a down payment was made and the windows were ordered. They came in a few weeks later and two of their team members came out to install them in the morning. Everything was done quickly and professionally with care. After the install, I had a question about one of the windows since it looked like there was a small crack at the top corner and they sent someone out to look at it right away. It turned out it was just some glue residue that was attached on the inside of the window that made it look like a crack and was easly scraped off with a razor blade. I definitley recommend using Semko as they provided a very reliable service and also beat out many other window companies with their competitive pricing.
