Outside area to sit among the vines and inside AC area to enjoy a tasting. Good for large parties, too (10 in our party). If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I became a wine club member less than a year ago, and one of the biggest reasons was Mary Lou. She is warm, kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and has a way of making every guest feel genuinely welcome. Every visit is relaxed, educational, and so much fun because of her. I recently brought my parents to visit from the East Coast. They loved the wines, but they loved Mary Lou even more! My dad is a longtime wine collector, and she took the time to share her knowledge and have thoughtful conversations with him that made the experience truly memorable. It wasn't just a tasting--it felt like spending time with someone who genuinely loves wine and loves sharing that passion with others. Of course, the wines are fantastic, but outstanding people are what keep us coming back. Mary Lou is a huge asset to this winery and one of the reasons we'll continue to be loyal members. The tasting experience included a quick tour of the vineyard, members area and barrel room, leaving time to explore at your own pace if you wish. I enjoyed this winery when we visited. We arrived there shortly after they opened their tasting room. We didn't need a reservation luckily, but I recommend making one. It's locally owned and warm and welcoming vibe. Service was great and informative. They serve a mean Zin, "Zinstar". Service was great. They were out when we were there. We enjoyed their CTZ'N and we brought home a bottle of their Estate Chardonnay. We throughly enjoyed the beautiful views at this estate and our bottle of Zin. Stopped by on our way to Jessie's Grove for a Harvest Host stay. The owner greeted us out front with his dog and he was friendly and inviting. We didn't have a reservation but it was a Thursday so it was quiet. The tasting room is nicely decorated and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. This was one of our favorite wineries besides Berghold. We had reservations for a tour and tasting on Easter Sunday at 2:30pm. Apparently we were the only ones who had reservations. They had to turn away walk ins. They were nice not to cancel our reservation on us. Another winery cancelled our reservation. We got to try 7 wines and we even got a comp charcuterie snack to pair with our wines. Wines were really good. Good size pours too. The lady who did the tour and tasting was really nice and knowledgeable. We had a great time here. Theres both indoor and outdoor seating. Tour and Tasting was $20. You cannot get this kind of price in Napa. read more

They pay particular attention to detail and the wine tasting experience was exceptional. We learned about the history of the winery, the types of grapes on the land, how the different wines were made, and much more. Each wine tasting was in a different location on their property -- in the tasting room, outside in the vineyards, in the barrel room, then back to the tasting room for the dessert wine and some brownie. I really enjoyed the mini-tour they gave us and the explanation they provided about the wine making process and development of their wines. Got all my questions answered about a place to enjoy our picnic, cost for tasting and a bonus once Shelby found out we were there celebrating my friends birthday...free tasting which BTW included a Lucas (Riedel) wine glass. I've had the tour 2 previous visits but this time was beyond special. Shelby pointed out the neighboring vineyards where they get some of their grapes as well as telling and showing us how they take a cutting off old vines and transplant where an old vine has been removed. Then, how they protect that new cutting with wax and a barrier to protect it from insects and rodents in an environmentally safe way...(thus, organic grapes)! The tasting was amazing and Lucas has some fabulous benefits for their wine club members. I'll be back! read more

Great customer service. Our wine tasting person was so engaging, fun and very educated on what he was selling. One can tell he was proud of The Luca Winery and their processes on producing quality wines. He took our group to the vineyards, allowed us to take a sample of the vine and overall made us feel welcomed. They end the tasting with a free wine glass which is pretty awesome as the other wineries nearby didn't seem to have that option. We even saw the owner himself. I love love love this place! Last time we were here, the quality of the wine wooed us, and MaryLou completely sold us on the place, especially when I learned about their sustainability measures. (You got me with the owl boxes last time and this time you kept with the sheep! Haha) Their wine is a little on the expensive side for the area, but when you realize the size of their production and quality of their craft, it makes sense. MaryLou is the best; I really appreciate a person with knowledge, but who is humble enough to say, "I just don't know, let me find out". Really great! Katy is absolutely the best wine educator. She always treats us very well and greets us with a smile on her face. One the best parts of the winery is the educational sessions that David Lucas (owner) personally puts on that gives us insight how their wines are made, the importance of the types of barrels used, all the way to teaching us how to pick the grapes. We arrived at the Lucas Winery, had our Pomerania outside sniffing and were "greeted" outside by a lady asking what we were doing there. Told her we were going to do a tasting and she said that the tasting were 30 minutes long and we couldn't bring our dog, but that they are dog friendly? How can you be dog friendly and yet tell us we can't bring our dog? You either are or you are not! I totally understand either way, but don't advertise that you are! read more
