If you don't need parking for more than 1 vehicle, or need running water, don't mind loud kids at all hours, cockroaches EVERYWHERE, and a very unhelpful staff then this place is for you! It started out great, but the front office turn over progressively got worse with the management they brought in. The management when I first got there would get to know their residents, now the current manager will hide in her car to avoid talking to you. Parking is horrible, good luck finding parking anywhere after 4pm, the "open" spots inside with a "72 hour" rule is a joke. I was constantly ticketed for being over a min past 72 hours, where some cars were parked for weeks in the same spot. Some staff would wait for certain residents to come home so they could have their spot. If you're lucky enough to find street parking, your car will probably get broken into by one of the gangs that are in the neighborhood or you'll have to park a block away from the complex. The water gets shut off practically every other week for "emergency repairs". Our apartment flooded once because the neighbors pipe burst and all they did was vacuum the water and put a dehumidifier in. Wouldn't be surprised if there was mold. Sometimes they will do construction "improvements" and not give you 24 hour notice until guys are banging around on the roof or blocking parking spots and making an absolute mess while working. This place is waaaaay over priced for what you get in terms of "amenities" and even the quality of the property/location. The laundry room has at least 1-2 washer and dryers broken at all times. No one is considerate and will take up every single machine and the leasing office will do nothing about it. There is a pool that will get over run with kids and a courtyard with fake grass that reeks of dog pee in the summer. The gym has 3 pieces of equipment. Honestly go find something better! The place I'm in now, I'm paying the same price, and get 2 parking spots and in unit washer and dryer for the same size unit and I don't have cockroaches. read more

In the last 3 months, 4 cars and 1 motorcycle have been robbed, outside and inside the premises. The office only tells you to make the report to the police, and that's it! besides that every year the rent increases ; & rent is already high as it is. Not worth it . read more

they never stay up on the parking guidelines, they let people park in the complex that don't have parking passes. I've seen residents leave their dogs poop everywhere in the complex with no repercussion for any individual. There are constant water shut offs, with little to no notice. The washing machines often have mold and are rarely cleaned, leaving residue from other residents detergents all over the filling drawer of the machines, I've never seen them cleaned in the year I have been here. In my experience the staff isn't helpful resolving issues, consistently rude, one sided, non informed and lack communication skills. read more

These are the WORST apartments! It was a nightmare living here. The turnover in the front office seriously causes so much chaos! The only person consistently there "Michael' is solely focused on bringing in new residents he isn't helpful with any other questions you could have. The parking is awful, everyone gets assigned one parking spot and there is a tiny visitor lot for both the apartment and condo sides (they manage condos across the street). The maintenance workers constantly double park in 2 visitor spots making it even harder to find parking. It's infested with roaches! No matter how clean you are, how many traps you put or how many times you fumigate they do not go away. The water is CONSTANTLY shut off and they say they're "emergency" shut offs but will often times give no notice of when it's being shut off and will not notify when it's back on either almost as if they have major plumbing issues and just keep slapping band aids on it because why else would it constantly need work. Moving out was a nightmare and we were charged for 2 items in which we fought back because of things that were their fault and no one called us back we only received a check for $80 (no call) and never heard back from the remaining $300. When we moved in they did not have the apartment cleaned there was trash, paint buckets, dust everywhere and the floors were black & they CONFIRMED they did not clean the apartment. HONEST REVIEW from someone who lived here almost 5 years. This place looks nice on the pictures, but the entire foundation is falling apart. We had trouble with our floor the moment we moved in (2019). It was coming up on the edges and when we were moving furniture around one day, a piece chipped off. Ofcourse I called the office and was going to be charged around $500 to have it repaired. When they came to replace the flooring, I got a call at work saying they needed to rip my entire dining room floor, part of my kitchen & living room floor because it was wet underneath and they needed to let it dry. My first thought is MOLD. I had been hospitalized multiple times for my asthma and knew this was the culprit. I ended up hiring a professional to come and test the air quality and the floor to see what types of mold were present. The results came back that there were multiple types of mold present including one that is rarely found inside homes. The manager at the time (Lauren) continued to blame us, saying we must have let the toilet bowl overflow, or our washer, or our dog spilled water. Unfortunately for them they left the replacement floor boxes inside my unit and they read "100% water proof." After the flooring was repaired, they offered to pay me back all the money I had spent for this inconvenience (hotel stays, dog boarding, mold testing) as long as I signed a release agreement saying I can't sue them if this happens again and later in the future if I develop health problems because of it(including death), I can't sue them either. I didn't sign in. Another big problem we had during our stay was the maintenance lady Jen. If you're paying almost $3000 in rent, you expect the workers to be friendly. No, not Jen. She would dog the crap out of everyone, just waiting for someone to say something. It got to the point I had to request for someone else to do the maintenance requests in our home because she had no idea what she was doing & she would give you attitude straight to your face. I've also seen her with so many different men in the vacant units. She goes in with one and comes out with her hair all messed up. It's crazy that this has been going on for so long and no one cares. This is the number one reason we started looking elsewhere. COCKROACHES. Every single time a person moves in or out, you'll get them. When our neighbors got evicted the end of 2022, we got them so bad. Yes, we told the office, but we had a newborn and didn't want him exposed to the chemicals. I did everything I could to keep them out, but it was disgusting. I through everything away when I moved out to prevent one from following us. If you have kids, be aware that there are a ton of children outside unsupervised. Last year there was a 10 year old boy going around the neighborhood lighting fireworks at people and the cars. Parking here is terrible. If you don't get more than one parking spot when you move in, make sure you remove your valuables from your car because I promise your car will get broken into. Cops are here at least 3-4 times a month. I even watched a lady get her kids removed by CPS in 2022 while I was at the pool. Lastly, yes Jill seems "nice," but please remember that she works for a corporation and will do anything to keep her pathetic job. She is not your friend. read more

This review is for Don the main maintenance worker! This is a Don appreciation post! Don is so wonderful - I see this man RUNNING through the complex. His sense of urgency is unmatched. As soon as I put in a maintenance order or call the office, he's the guy to fix it. He is beyond professional, polite and most importantly, he get's the job done. He is the Bill Nye of fixing things. Today specifically, the AC unit went out on one of the hottest days of the year, and Don went above and beyond to make sure we were given a portable ac to make it through the weekend. I heard bad things about the townhouse side & witness it myself : roaches walking by mostly near trash and parking area, frogs in patios , dog poop all over grass and front door grass , piss smell here and there. This community needs attention and that is what Jill should be worrying about the condition of her property because it's outrageous how they did my tour with the condition of the property . Also the townhouse is extremely ugly. And don't get me started on the moldy black popcorn ceiling... bad condition kitchen. And I can't stress enough how smelly the place was. This review is too long over due: This is strictly on the hired, working crew. The Pros/Cons will be left for another day. B/c, procrastination. Me & my ppl, have been living here forever ( I guess it says something about the complex) & through the years, we've had diff staff caring for, our 'home' we live in: I'm referring to, the maintenance crew and landscaping and everything in between. Landscaping and maintenance have not necessarily been an issue w/us. But, we all experience diff perspectives. And bc of that, I want to take the time to acknowledge them. Someone that always seems to be in the shadows and doesn't necessarily get as much credit as he deserves, is Cesar, 'the gardener'. He, solely takes care of our landscaping and makes sure our grass is staying pedicured and as green as possible. Every time I see him, I'm seeing him w/the blower or the lawnmower. Every single time I pass by him and we make contact, he will ALWAYS greet me/us, ALWAYS. Very pleasant man. In the years he's worked here/we've lived here, I've not once, seen him in 'A negative' mood. He's always carrying that good vibe energy. And I, freaking appreciate that so much, prob more than I should, honestly. I wanna thank Cesar for caring for our outdoor and keeping it looking beautiful. We appreciate you. On to maintenance: I'll start w/Jennifer. The few times that I've come across her, she looks professional and well kept, hair is always looking neat and polished. And uniform in order. She looks pretty and professional. Sadly, she is forced to wear long sleeves bc ignorant people still live in the 50s and are offended by a little ink. And shameful that the company encourages that, really. Anyhow, When I walk out my door and I see her, she's sweeping around the dumpster areas, which we appreciate Because those dumpsters get really gross w/overflowing of trash, which, unfortunately is one of the cons here (maybe more dumpsters should be considered or adding an extra day to trash service will help). We have a new maintenance team member that does the exact thing on the other side(across the street) of the complex. Unfortunately, I've not learned his name and for that, I apologize (we see you too sir). Anyway, I've also seen Jennifer sweep the carports, which is also appreciated bc some ppl living here (or worse, the visitors) don't have the self-decency to throw their trash IN the trash and choose to litter their own home. But, you can't take the ghetto outta the people, right? So, sorry for the litter bugs, Jennifer/crew, but thank you for helping us keep our parking lot clean. We appreciate you guys. And lastly, we have Miguel. The maintenance manager. Miguel has helped keep the inside of our apartment functioning and from falling apart: He's helped us fix a few things here and there in our unit. The last thing he fixed for us was our kitchen sink: We placed a 'fix it' order for our kitchen sink bc it was malfunctioning. Miguel answered the request pretty much right away and we were informed, he'd show up same day. Miguel came in our unit ON TIME, and VERY professional w/booties to not get our carpet filthy. Which I freaking appreciate bc, we don't wear shoes inside the living room and unfortunately previous maintenance staff (he's no longer w/the company) did not do that and it was upsetting. Well, he came in, he had a very calm demeanor and soft spoken and just made it comfortable. He did a polite 'small-talk', but then got right to work. He examined the area that needed attention and then explained to my mom, what the issue was, why it was malfunctioning and how he would stop it from getting worse. He then gave her a time-frame window of how long it would take to fix. And fixed it in under 2 hrs. The faucet we had was already on its last leg, so he fixed the issue and replaced our faucet. Thank you Miguel. We have it in our notes to request Miguel, when we need a maintenance-related issue in our unit. I've also seen Miguel outside our parking areas too. There's been a few times I've seen him w/the power hose (it was a shocking, pleasant surprise to see) and hoses down the outside of the dumpsters and the asphalt in its surrounding areas and makes it look great. And keeps the stench away. Unfortunately for him, I know we've had 'Emergency repairs' that need immediate attention. These emergencies arise once the crew has clocked out. But, every time that happened, Miguel clocked back in and got to work and prioritized said Emergency and made sure the community was taken care of, leaving past 8/9pm each time. Thanks, Miguel. COCKROACHES in apt 59 the big huge ones, reported it right away! after a couple days of no answer i called and they stated they would take care of it. called me again and said someone was going to go into my apartment to talk about it no one ever came, i thankfully was in the process of moving out and 1 day before i gave them the keys they called and said if it was okay for an exterminator to go in???? why do i care at that point? it wasn't the first time a big huge cockroach was in the apartment and wasn't the first time i had reported it! i called after a week of moving out to receive my final bill, they said it takes them 30 days ok no biggie. after a couple days i check my account and i have my final bill for water. i pay it right away bc i don't want it to go to collections. now today i check on it again bc i still haven't received anything and i have a PAST DUE balance of $489 !! $300 to paint the apartment and the rest to clean the apartment??? how the hell is it so much ?? i called and said they can't talk about it until the manager is there tomorrow. by the way my deposit is $500 how do i have a past due when they still have my deposit ? the girl on the phone said it should have been taken care of with my deposit (EXACTLY) i said why is it so much to paint and clean she said it's probably bc they changed companies. so over all these apartments have gotten worse over time, i used to love these apartments and would even recommend to my friends now i tell everyone to stay away. read more

The Jackson is the second AMC property my family has lived at because AMC always has the best staff! Everyone who works here is so friendly and maintenance is always quick to help. The property itself is kept up nicely, and there's been lots of updates to the outdoor amenities and the apartments themselves as well. Plus the first floor patios are huge! The location of these apartments are perfect because there are so many shopping/grocery/food options all within a 10 minute drive, not to mention close to both the 91 and 57. 10/10 recommend living here! read more

My wife and I have lived at the Jackson Apartments since March of 2015. Currently in a 2 bedroom with large backyard area. I'd have to say the girls that run the office right now are hands down the best so far. Super friendly and always ready to help. They really make you feel at home. The complex is always kept nice and clean. Parking is the same as any other complex where you get 1 permanent spot and one first serve. I really love the remodel they did inside and out. The laundry room is nice with new appliances this year also. Pool and bbq area always look nice even tho I don't use them. They do have a small gym which has just enough to get in a good workout any day of the week. Can't say if it gets crowded because I have my own gym but it was nice to use when I did. No troubles with any other tenants here either. read more

I couldn't think of a better place to start to start my new chapter in my life. Jill, Kim, and Elyse are as accommodating as they come, at least for me. I live my home! The neighbors and leasing staff are nice, grounds are mostly tended to daily. The amenities are great touch as well, I've come to find you have to be a bit specific with maintenance at times as well as a bit too many spiders making webs, and you should be mindful of what furniture you try to fit in you home. Lived here for two years. Pros - central air conditioning, nice large patios, great for pets, nice living layout. Maintenance is quick to help. Cons- shady area, gun shots can be heard a lot , cars broken into, you'll always see cops around looking for someone or arresting someone. Parking is pretty bad. Good luck with finding a space after 3pm. They turn off the water constantly without much notice. You can hear so loudly when your neighbor is showering or flushing the toilet. Druggie neighbor who was pretty scary. Told management about him. They spoke to him but not much else could be done. This complex used to be called Madera Apartments. So sad that all those reviews are lost somewhere. read more

Cops are literally outside almost every night. There was a police chase not long ago that ended outside the property. Parking is horrendous and street sweeping is the entire area on both sides. So good luck finding it. It's really bad. The Management here is a joke TOO. Their technicians for repairs on the plumbing and basic landlord things mess up and have to redo the work again. This has happened about three times as i lived here. also spoke to a neighbor who is a resident in the town houses down the way putting up missing cat fliers outside the neighborhood. She brought up that the manager of my complex tried giving her cat away claiming it was a stray. Next day saw that man ripping them down not only on the street in front of the complex but the next neighborhood over??? Wtf. Do yourself a favor and look for somewhere else to live! read more

I came here to tour a 1 bedroom 1 Bathroom apartment recently and I was very disappointed. When we went to view the apartment I noticed rodent droppings on the sidewalk ! And to top it all off when we go inside the apartment there's a big ass ROACH sitting in the kitchen ! And when I asked the manager about it she had the nerve to say it was a water bug ... like seriously??? A WATER BUG ! After two months of building a water heating and storage unit literally attached to my bedroom wall without even letting me know they'd be doing this big project (I found out when they woke me up at 7:30 am one morning as they banged on my bedroom wall - oh, and the jackhammer). Now been dealing with the on / off constant machine noise that goes on 24/7 but is obviously annoying at night when you're trying to sleep - such a headache!! This morning woke up again to loud banging! Went outside and two men were banging against bedroom wall AGAIN (it lasted for an hour). NO WARNING, NO PRIOR NOTICE, NO APOLOGY, NADA. Saw maintenance man and asked why they were doing that and he literally ignored me, walked right past me and never responded. Wow! The other guy, said, "Oh, are we making too much noise?" and laughed. Hmmm, two guys banging on your bedroom wall for over an hour? WOULD YOU PAY TO LIVE LIKE THIS? I have video - too bad Yelp doesn't let you post that. Just asking for some common sense. Just want to live in peace. Work too hard to be paying for this total disregard. This place has been great to my wife and I since we have moved in. We took a downstairs place for the extra patio space and couldn't be happier. The staff has been great, Parker is super helpful and always asks how things are. The maintenance staff is quick and friendly. The only downside is parking, which for two cars hasn't been completely horrible. We got one covered spot and we usually find open parking on the street so it hasn't been an issue which is why I can keep the 5 stars. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to move in. read more

This yelp is not necessarily about the complex itself, its more of a complaint/concern of an employee that works for 'The Jackson', so it's suitable. Im writting this review through a friends yelp in fear of retaliation. I don't even know where to begin with this disappointment. I have read the reviews and it appears this person has had a few bad reviews already, and by the behaviour's I have encountered, nothing seems to have been done as of today. I am appalled by the cheap, lewd and obscene decorum by this employee-Jennifer whom is a maintenance 'worker' at the Jackson. The previous reviews about her being: "crass with no sense of customer service" and "doesn't seem like she wants to help residents". "Drinks and Smokes pot in parking lot" are SPOT ON!! For starters she has a crude, unapproachable personality and seems bothered if we even look at her. She never greets, she ALWAYS looks 'pissy' and makes me feel beyond discouraged to approach her for a maintenance question/concern. Sometime in mid-June I was on my way out with my two young babies. As I entered the parking lot I witnessed Jennifer with what I pressume was her boyfriend due to the gestures she was expressing onto him. Firstly, what one does in their home, is their business (to an extent) but when you are brazenly being inappropriate in public, you just made it my business. She was just hanging out in the lot, like she was in her backyard. The distinct odor of cannabis was conspicuously present. Alongside opened alcoholic beverages. Aside the stench, All I can hear coming from her foul-mouth was PURE VULGAR LANGUAGE, its like she could care less that a TENANT WITH HER TWO YOUNG BABIES were passing by. I was appalled!! My kids had to inhale that awful smell and were exposed to profanities. VERY DISAPPOINTING JACKSON MNGMNT. I was pretty livid and wanted to go to the office the following morning, but was very reluctant because of what I had heard (and pretty much seen). She, Jennifer is, and I quote: "very good friends with Lauren". Lauren being the manager (Hmm, no wonder!) And looking back (we, the tenants talk to one another) at previous complaints/concerns about Jeniffer, NOTHING seemed to change. Def not that awful personality she carries around. And now we know why. favoritism at work is never a good idea. I unfortunately, live a few doors from Jennifer and the repugnant, nauseating stench of cannabis (Im 16 weeks along, everything makes me nauseous) LITERALLY comes inside my apartment- where my little kids live!!! They are not allowed to even play in the patio because little Miss Jennifer is smoking joints with her vulgar man-friend!! It is UNFAIR that we, as tenants fear retribution if we speak up because the managers good friend is inconsiderately living next door. Enough is enough!! I will give management the benefit of the doubt and HOPE this behavior is brought to her attention once and for all. But, if it persists, I will be contacting corporate. Because sometimes "We will look into the matter" just isnt enough if proper action isn't taken. SPECIALLY when its an employee that is suppose to be representing the employer/apartments with grace NOT smearing its name in a vulgar, despicable, UNPROFESSIONAL manner. My lease ends toward the end of the year, I will not be renewing. read more

They refuse to deal with noise complaints that don't happen during " quiet hours" so neighbors can host loud parties whenever they please regardless of who they disturb. I've been living here for while now and I'm loving all of the upgrades! For those that have been complaining, it's obvious the last management company didn't take care of the property. Quit being rude to those who are making this a much better place to live than it was before. They truly care about their residents and it is evident in their service, the events they throw for our little community, the planning that has gone into making each unit comfortable and the lengths it takes to upkeep it all. Everyone on staff is hardworking. Shout out to Lauren for having the patience of a saint - I wouldn't be able to do and put up with as much as she does - and she is ALWAYS consistent, fair, and extremely helpful. It's affordable, especially when you actually research and look into what other complexes are offering. Please do not hesitate to at least take a tour! Since my wife and I moved into our apartment at The Jackson last Summer, we felt that there was something special about this place and the people working here. Especially after we had very similar experiences with the staff from other properties managed by AMC. Our first visit was already a huge contrast with the other places we were scouting thanks to Angelique and Jill who were working that day at the front office. We made the decision to move in that same day. Ever since the COVID19 crisis started, AMC has offered ways to accommodate rent payments, if need be. It's comforting to live in a place that cares about human lives and their individual circumstances. Throughout the entire pandemic, the staff has shown extreme resilience and respect for the current circumstances, and gracefully took care of the amenities in accordance with the new guidelines. We are very grateful for having found this place and even more grateful after maintenance came around this week to clean the outside of my window from spiderwebs. The place is near a migratory bird reserve, so this should not be a surprise for anyone to live in communion with wildlife. A few weeks ago, a couple of ducks nested by our pool during the toughest moments of the crisis since amenities were closed for tenants' safety. It goes to show how peaceful The Jackson Apartments are to live in. read more

Luis, the maintenance Supervisor, is really nice and polite and very respectful. When we ask for help, he always does it with a smile and fast. He makes us feel comfortable to ask for help and a very hard worker. We are happy he is here. The manager, is always accessible when we have any questions and when we need anything, she's really fast. We don't have to ask twice. We returns calls right away. We are happy to have her.
