Customer service here is horrible. I order the southern chicken and waffles off of the brunch menu. The menu says the the chicken is smothered in Honey Sriracha. My meal came with honey mustard and the chicken was extremely hard. I asked about the honey sriracha and was told by the waiter they don't do a honey sriracha sauce. How the meal comes with honey mustard but he can give me some sriracha sauce on the side. I showed him on the menu what it says and he basically shrugged his shoulders. I asked to speak to the manager regarding the meal cause I felt it's false advertising on the menu. The manager came and I explained to him what happened. He told me I should have asked him in the beginning to mix the honey sriracha. I don't understand why I should ask for something that's already advertised on the menu. He says well the waiter gave me the sauce. I said yeah, after I asked about the sauce. Then he proceeds to say "what do you want me to do?" I just said forget it and gave him my plate. He did take $10 off the bill and apologized to my brother-in-law. Nothing said to me but "what do you want me to do." I edited my review just to fix a typo and I just got a VERY rude message from the establishment . This was his message to me: First off, my staff and I were not rude to you or the people you were with...Yet you decided to Post two times about the same experience, and now you are updating your review...I don't know what your problem is, but this is my for of lively hood. Shame on you, because we did do our part and offered you another meal in exchange, and I deducted money off the bill... Have a great day! Life is short, have a happy heart. Lets just say this. I come here with my friends and family alll the time! I bring my kids here atleast twice a month, my friends all the time or a late dinner with my family! Oh, stop! Sometimes its nice to have someone else prepare the food and do the dishes;) I will start by saying that i absolutely love the staff very attentive, my cup is always full, we always have extra napkins, sauces etc. The food is great, if there's an error in order they quickly fix it no complaints. Generous food portions for price. We love the breakfast menu quite a few options for omelete, my favorite is the western omelete because whats and omelette without green peppers, onions and ham?? the fresh toast portion can feed two! crazy huge and so good one of our favorites.. sometimes a lil heavy on the cinnamon though. Pancakes are always perfect we do prefer the silver dollar as we do bring little hands and mouths here! This is the place you go to with intentions of getting a salad... (by the way try the greek! Its my fave! )then you get a whiff of everything delicious and end up pigging out with a burger or a wrap or a panini! Soups are good my friebd favors the motzaball, me the lobster bisque.. okay i will say here its not the best in town but i just favor the creamy soups;) Huge menu! Been coming here since my cousin put me on to this spot in college. Never been disappointed. Service is quick the place is clean, seating is always available what more can you ask for ? I ordered the shrimp salad wrap with sweet potato fries it's very filling but I'll say the serving is for 1 but definitely can be shared if your not a big eater. The food tasted amazing it was a nice combination of sweet crunch and salty all at once! Staff was great and super friendly.... even when we were a little tipsy for late night French fries and cheese they treated us really well. Nice decor. Food was cooked to perfection. The cheese fries that I requested well done were done perfectly. The brown gravy was EXCELLENT! Honey mustard wasn't great and eggs were okay at best. Grilled cheese was very good with LOTS of cheese in it, not one of those thin grilled cheese sandwiches. Nicely done. I would go back and by the way ask for Evan as your waiter. Visited as a party of 8, everyone was pleased with their dishes. But me. I ordered chicken & waffles (what I felt like having), however, I should have known better. As it arrived, appearance was nice, smelled delicious but when I cut into the chicken breast, it was ice-cold! It appeared the chicken had been previously cooked and frozen for preservation but it was too cold to eat. Staff here was extremely friendly and funny, and offered to replace the dish but I declined as the rest of my party would have been finished dining. I may visit again. read more

I'm laughing at the review with "excellent service". This restaurant (diner) holds the award for the worse service ANYWHERE. Seven of us ordered, three dishes didn't come (we waited over 20 minutes), and asked twice. If not for the fact we were in a group, I wouldn't have eaten if my wife wasn't served and after 10 minutes, it's goodbye. Plus she ordered potato skins, now how hard is that? Plus she said they were awful too. Finally after serving us, they never returned to check on us. I am so angry at myself for leaving any tip. This place is a disaster. No way it can have a 4 star average review, I'm sorry. If you look at my reviews, I am very fair , and appreciate 5 or 4 star restaurants. This place has NO Service. 4 stars because they don't have paper takeout menus or deliver (unless you use shipt or ubereats which are rip offs) and their prices have gone really high. Otherwise they have an amazing menu that has everything from old fashioned cinnamon toast and liver with onions to full course meals and they make their own combinations of burgers, sandwiches etc that you won't find other places. Most dishes are very good and fairly generous portions but the prices are more like you would expect in a fancy restaurant and not a "cheap, local" diner. They are always busy anyway so the food is fresh. I guess their biggest competition is Floral Park Diner which does deliver themselves and you can just order online so we wind up getting more meals there when we are super lazy and don't want to drive to pickup at Stop 20. read more

This diner is one of my favorites. it's very beautifully decorated on the inside and during the holiday season, they have paintings on their windows with candy canes and other adorable stuff. I've been here three times, and the food is quite delicious. I've had the belgian waffle, eggs florentine (VERY GOOD), chili and turkey sandwich. I've also had the cheese danish, which was 2.25 and also bigger than my head - a great deal. I definitely recommend eggs florentine which is a version of eggs benedict with spinach added, the hollandaise sauce was A+. If you have a sweet tooth for breakfast, definitely make a stop here! They have peanut butter and banana brioche french toast, a variety of pancakes, and belgian waffles... not to mention, the place is full of beautiful displays of pastries that will make you salivate. I will try a dessert there one of these days. It's a great local diner, with very nice servers, though the one time I went with my other female friend, the waiter was joking around with us in a very strange manner that made the both of us uncomfortable. That was during noon however, and I haven't gotten that waiter since and I still think it's definitely worth the trip. So let me ask you a hypothetical question. If you go into a NYC diner, out of the hundreds of items you'll find on a menu, what is the single dish you'd be MOST SHOCKED to find that they cannot effectively execute? Would you believe the common bagel? Sadly, that was what our party experienced yesterday. Twelve of us walked into a packed house yesterday, and thankfully we had reservations because Stop 20 was jammed to the rafters. We all ordered a variety of dishes- salads, eggs, sandwiches etc. Eight of the dishes came out in a reasonable time, but four didn't. What did the four have in common? They were all bagel dishes. Three were bagels and smoked salmon, and the fourth was a bagel ordered as an alternative to toast with an egg dish. After a very long time, the bagels rolled out. Now, we've all been to diners a zillion times, and we've all seen those big paper bags of bagels from the local bagel shop. Some of these are as big as a saucer. But not these. They were suspiciously small, about the same size as you'd find in a supermarket freezer. I sat at the end of our table where three people had the bagels. Every one of them said they weren't right- they were very hard and difficult to chew. I asked for a piece to sample,. and I agreed. My guess is this -- did you ever over-microwave something and it comes out with a hardening loss of original texture? Bingo. I'm guessing they had no bagels on hand (for whatever reason), and reached into the freezer and rush microwaved them. The smoked salmon didn't save the plates either, it was the ribbon-like stringy and veiny strips you see on low-end pre-packaged supermarket stuff. We sure expected better quality, At least my Cobb Salad (14.95) was very good, but it was very disappointing to see a third of our table get served awful plates. I felt bad for our server. The restaurant was so crowded and the aisles between tables were so puny, he couldn't even get to everyone at our table. Instead, he had to pass our plates down the table bucket brigade style. But the guy was resourceful! Our table-top leaned back and forth like a drunken rummy, and when we asked about it, he turned the table upside down, whipped out a gargantuan wrench, and tightened that sucker up. I seen some good reviews from my local Yelpers and decided to try this diner out. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted with a smile from the host. It wasn't crowded around 10am. I was surprised. I was expecting to see more people on a beautiful Sunday morning. They have a private parking lot, so it shouldn't be hard to find parking. The diner is very clean. The booths are big and spacious. That is a plus, because you get a lot of food with your meals. The diner has a few TV's broadcasting the news which is nice. Our waiter came over and took our orders very fast. I got a large orange juice; it tasted good. It comes with pulp. For breakfast I got toast, home fries, with a California Omelette which you can find under "Specialty Omelettes". The omelette was AMAZE-BALLS. It has avocado, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese. The combination sounds out of this world, but it tasted so delightful. I was full ! I couldn't even finish my toast. I'm a little disappointed, Ive never set foot inside a diner that was bad. I came here for lunch with a co worker. I have to say the service was fantastic. The waiter and waitress always checked on us for refills. I ordered the new England clam chowder and got a uncooked cup of soup. The potatoes were raw and the cream tasted like uncooked flour. I then ordered chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was that bad, decent at most. The pickle had a funny taste and the coleslaw was very watery. The only thing that helped this place was the apple turnover, That was extremely delicious. On top of the food, the cups are gross. I think its time to change your plastic cups for new ones. I'm sure they're washed everyday, but they look like hell. I thought I was going to catch a cold looking at the cup. I didn't drink the water and had ice tea Thur a straw. Another thing that really upset me. Your charging me $9 dollar for a sandwich, and want $4.00 additional for fries. I understand a lunch special will get me dessert, but I rather get the fries and skip the dessert. I found it odd that fries didn't come with the sandwich. Most diners you get all the extras I mention additional to the fries. This is my opinion, and I'm entitled to it, since this place has 4 stars, some people might take offense to what I wrote. My BF recommended coming here this morning, he said it was he best in our area. Walking in I instantly noticed how clean and updated the diner is. The gentleman at the door greeted us and immediately sat us. (Normally they just yell "TWO?" In your face. Hah.) The breakfast menu is two pages with the combos on the first page. That made it easy to order. I ordered a cappuccino because another yelper had posted a photo of it and it looked delicious. It was very rich! Wow; if customer service was a diner it would be this place ! I'm truly in awe at how they treat people here. The person who I guess was the manager greeted me and walked me to my seat quickly. The waitress was just as pleasant. I placed my order and ordered a minosa; within a few minutes my entree was ready. I went with the waitress recommendation on the super French toast and it was very filling.
