Rockville Centre has no shortage of brunch options, but The Pantry brings a distinctly trendy, artistic energy to Merrick Road. The interior feels elevated yet welcoming, with a cool layout and a buzzing crowd that makes it feel like the place to be on a Sunday morning--especially with the post-church rush keeping the entire dining room packed to the brim! We came in with a reservation, though be prepared for a bit of a wait at the door even with one; the host stand was swamped and sadly having to turn away walk-ins because of how in-demand they are. Once seated with a friend, we dove into a full breakfast spread--an omelet, eggs benedict, and the French toast. While the price point leans a bit steep for a morning meal, the kitchen definitely knows what they're doing: The French Toast: The absolute star of the show. Rich, perfectly golden, and cooked to decadent perfection. I genuinely loved every bite of this! The Eggs Benedict & Omelet: Super solid, fresh, and well-executed classic breakfast fare. It's definitely on the pricier side, but for the chic aesthetic, vibrant crowd, and incredible French toast, it's a high-end local brunch worth experiencing. I'd definitely come back!

Service was fine. Just took awhile to get waitress to get check and leave. It was nice and clean. Felt more like a brunch location, not a diner. The BLT was alright. The bread was a little too toasted so extra hard. The shrimp po boy was eh. The Cajun sauce wasn't spicy and needed otherwise the sandwich would be very dry.

Beautiful, modern looking 70! year old 'diner' in Oceanside. Expensive, but the food makes it worth it; really a cut above. All employees were very pleasant, friendly and attentive. Our server could claim the pleasant and friendly; not so much the attentive. Initially very slow to arrive (after 10 minutes I had to get up and ask the fellow who seated us to find our server) and even slower with the water and coffee. Should not be. Especially at such high prices.

Had an amazing breakfast experience at The Pantry in Rockville Centre this morning. Stopped in for a quick bite with my dad and ended up having one of the most comforting breakfasts I've had in a while. The hospitality was top tier from the moment we walked in. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with powdered sugar, sausage links, eggs with cheese, and a fresh-squeezed orange juice -- and everything was absolutely delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and perfectly sweet, the eggs and sausage were cooked just right, and the fresh orange juice was the perfect touch to tie it all together. If you're in Rockville Centre and looking for a classic breakfast spot with great food and even better service, The Pantry is definitely the place to go. I'll definitely be coming back.

visited on Mother's Day with my family, and it was the first time for everyone in our party. Despite the crowd and long wait, the experience was well worth it. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything my family and I ordered was flavorful, fresh, and exceeded our expectations. There wasn't a single dish that disappointed us. A special shoutout to the gentleman with locs and glasses who was working at the front. His customer service was outstanding. He was friendly, professional, and helped create a positive first impression. Our waitress was okay overall, but the front-of-house service really stood out. The only downside was the wait. We waited well over an hour, closer to two hours, and the restaurant was packed. Parking was also extremely difficult. They do offer valet parking, which helps, but the lot was still very challenging to navigate due to how busy it was. Also, this place is pricey! Even with the long wait, price, and parking issues, the food and overall experience made it worth it. My family and I would definitely return and recommend it to others.

3.5 stars I attended on a night that may not be the best to judge true service as it was a comedy night. Pretty extensive menu, based on photos it seems brunch is very popular. We had the buffalo cauliflower and the Chicken Milanese, very heavily dressed for my liking. Parking lot to the side and in the back.

I've visited The Pantry since moving to Long Island. The food I would give a 5 stars because it's bursting with flavor, it's unique and creative. The 4 stars is because of the waitresses, they aren't the most friendly staff. Dishes I recommend: Lobster Benedict Steak and Eggs Tres leches French Toast and Pancakes Chicken fingers and fries

Looking for brunch all day everyday. Pantry has entree meals that include either a glass of mimosa, Bellini or Bloody Mary. Everything from the burgers to the French toast are delicious if you don't want brunch the offer a regular menu as well. Great place for family and friends and the service is always moving quickly. It gives the nostalgic diner vibes which is great since a lot know spots have closed down in the NY area.

The Mac n Cheese here is the best I've ever had. The cheese pull was immaculate. I ordered the chicken sandwich. Fried chicken was seasoned really well. All of the food felt fresh. Service was OK however it was extremely busy when I went so it's understandable. The restaurant seems like a nice stable in the community. They say they are a diner but I will say the food here is better than diner quality. Don't let the negative reviews here fool you! Try it out! You won't be disappointed

My plus one suggested that we come to The Pantry in Rockville Center NY, I quickly assented after my research. When we arrived I saw a huge parking lot with ample parking, eith two sides to enter. Walking into this massive dining room, you see dining to the right and left. The bar and check out are on the left side as you enter and the maître d' was directly at the entrance across from the check out counter. She pleasantly greeted us with a smile and escorted us to our table. I saw that the dining room was extravagant and neat! The music was pumping sounds from Mariah Carey and various other artists. It was relaxing. The decorum was nothing less than elegant and beautiful with flowers hanging from the ceiling and pictures displayed on the walls, while the The Pantry's ambiance was upscale, patrons arrived dressed waaaay down, casual, and dressed up in church attire. The service at the beginning was prompt at the beginning, we had to ask three times for more time to look over the menu because we needed an understanding of the menu. My plus one had traditional French toast with bacon. She really enjoyed her meal without disappointment. I, on the other hand, had Challah French toast and turkey sausage patties. My French toast was cold but the sausages were hot. I was very disappointed. The interaction with out waiter seemed awkward at the beginning but after we ate I engaged him in conversation. It's amazing how a person opens up when you talk about a subject of knowledge. By our observation we saw that he is into Chakra. Really great conversation. We did have a very lengthy wait to receive our check. Our wait was so long that the half empty dining area were we sat was now full! If I come again, I would like to try another dish and hopefully it will be hot!

I will say I randomly came across this place as I had a near by appointment and came in for a quick breakfast bite and this place delivered. I was greeted by the host at the entrance and was seated down minutes later as it was during brunch and it was sort of packed with people. Aside of that I was seated with in minutes and the waitress got right to asking what I've needed and the food came out quickly!!! The vibe and the appearance of this place is nice also and has a nice seating layout, by that I mean it isn't people just seating over you and or rubbing elbows lol. Anyway I attached what I had for breakfast eggs sausage with fries and cheese which tasted great. I will come back soon and would leave a better rating to get an overall feel. Otherwise it gets a 4 star for today's visit.

I had lemon pepper wings at The Pantry Diner months ago and have not stopped thinking about those wings since! My pseudo-sister's nephew works there and my daughter's elementary school classmate is a Hostess. Seeing them both made me feel like I was really in a family/community eatery. We had a great time and I'll be going back soon for more wings!!

Just to start the food was soo good! Everyone liked their dishes. However the service was so slow, even when it got less crowded everything was still a wait. However the waitress we had was amazing and she was so nice.

We opted for the dining room, which has a cool, broody, tavern-like vibe with nice wood accents. Service was absolutely stellar. I asked to substitute a side that wasn't officially an option, and our waiter went out of his way to check with the kitchen and make it happen. Much appreciated! For appetizers, the mac and cheese was served hot and fresh with a great breadcrumb topping, and the pretzels were pure perfection--the accompanying cheese cup and fabulous mustard were a huge hit. For our mains, we ordered black bean patties, a burger, and a salad topped with grilled chicken. Zero complaints across the board. The burger and veggie patties were massive--plenty big enough to take half home for later--and came with a side of perfectly salted, thick-cut fries. Best of all, we never felt rushed or bombarded by our waiter, which is truly becoming a lost art. Highly recommend!

My wife is blond and my hair is as white as the driven snow. I showed it to the waiter. He presented us with a $20.00 gift card. A few weeks later we went again. My wife had a chicken cob salad and she liked it. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich. The bread was stale, the meat was overcooked and dry and one side of the bread was burned black. The fries were pretty good. There was no reason to tell them about it. Another gift card does me absolutely no good because I won't be back. Great service requires great food and cleanliness. 1 outta 3 just don't cut it.

I have ordered takeout before but today I just needed a moment to sit and enjoy something comforting . This place and the chowder did the trick. The place has been around since the 30's so that says a lot. They do have tables outdoor under a tent but I love the nostalgic vibe of the inside counter with the little stools. You can watch them fry up all the goodies. I was immediately greeted, sat and my beautiful bowl of chowder came. The service is endearing and though my first time dining in, they treated me like I was a regular and they do with everyone. Maybe that's why they have been around so long. Good food is great but service that makes you feel like you are a regular is top tier. As The clouds rolled in the thunder struck and as the rain poured down, I enjoyed my lovely bowl of New England clam chowder. They are heavy on the fresh clams and just right on the potatoes. They do have the red chowder and their Long Island version which is a mix of the 2. This just hit the spot all around and on a day like I was having today, filled my soul. I'll BE BAck for the good fried goodies next time. Thank you!

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of tomato based soups, but doesn't always want the heaviness of a cream based soup, this is the best of both worlds. Its flavor was rich yet balanced. The cream brought a smooth, velvety body and subtle sweetness, while the tomato added a bright acidity and savory depth. Potatoes provided gentle heft and earthy comfort, while onions, celery, and herbs built a layered, homey backbone. There was a good amount of tender clams, with natural sweetness that tied everything together. We also got an order or mini crab cakes. The exterior was golden fried, with a nice crunch. The interior was more crab than filler, with enough structure that it held together. It was simply seasoned, supporting the crab instead of overshadowing it. The horseradish Dijon sauce was more Dijon than horseradish. It brought a gentle tang and little bite to add a depth of flavor to the crab cake. Also of note, when you sit down they bring tartar sauce and cocktail sauce to your table. Both sauces were honestly the best of their kind that I can remember having in a very long time. I couldn't even tell you what made them so amazing, but I must have commented at least 7 times about how good they were. There's a reason Bigelow's has been around for almost 90 years. It's a simple spot, with old school charm, that knows a good thing when it's got it, and doesn't mess with perfection. It just continues to serve up consistently good fried seafood (with a few grilled options so you can drag your health conscious friends and they'll find something too).
