The staff at Stop and Shop have always been helpful and pleasant to me when I shop. I think because of its location they experience many difficult customers who are entitled and difficult. I recently moved a big shelving unit that was right next to a woman and instead of thanking me she shouted I'm here! Instead of realizing I was saving her from the large shelving unit coming her way. This store is very busy but the staff manages to keep up with the stocking the selves. I am polite and I think that helps because I'm always treated well by the employees. Sometimes they seemed shocked by it. The ambiance is that of a large super market. I give the staff a lot if credit for maintaining this very busy store so well. read more

We were missing a fee items we needed while camping nearby and ran in to this store not long before closing on a weeknight. The produce area smelled amazing. Any employee I saw was engaged in cleaning, stocking or checkout. I needed help finding an item and not only was I told which aisle to look in, but an employee helped me locate what I needed. read more

Disgusting. I work in the area during the summer months and have been shopping here for 2 years because it is convenient.. until today... One of the Cashier Managers eating fried chicken at the checkout while customers are exiting. Its gross. Not to mention where is her lunch break? ... no napkin, no plate. Last week I checked out in lane 5.. a young female cashier could not put her phone down while scanning my items. No eye contact and not a "hello, how are you"? She was watching social media videos.. the ENTIRE TIME! Why do you even have your phone while working your shift? Senior Management has to change this store. Clearly the employees do not care at ALL! When I emptied my groceries tonight, I found a roach in my paper bag from the store! The employees here are constantly disrespecting the customers, eating during their shift and communicating with each other why they dislike their job or why one of their fellow employees either quit or got fired. Take my advice, go to IGA. Or Red Horse Market. It's worth the extra dollar. Citarella is great if you can afford it. At least you won't find a roach in your groceries or see someone chewing on a chicken bone during their shift! If I could give this store a ZERO I would! PS. Why not just make this the first grocery store in America fully automated. Do judge me about my political views please. Because this is not about politics. Went to buy carvel birthday cake. Line was long. Went to self checkout. Woman hired to observe self checkout incredibly rude, snarky, and unbelievably unkind to each and every one of us. Why?! What's there to be gained for anyone to have this attitude? Wont shop there again. read more

Every time I'm in this store I seem to see a lot of employees standing around doing nothing. My friend and I went to the full service checkout because she wanted to buy cigarettes and the counter where they sell them was closed. We asked the cashier and she went to a side room where a number of employees were hanging out and then came back and told us that they didn't have her cigarettes. So she asked for a different brand and the cashier went off again, only to come back and say that there were no cigarettes at all. it was absolutely ridiculous because they obviously had the cigarettes in stock - we could see them - and the cashier was very embarrassed. She asked if we wanted to speak to the person she spoke to, but we said no, and at that point took our business elsewhere. While we were leaving, three employees were crowding the exit, doing nothing at all, but talking and joking around, and even cussing. This is not what I expect when I go into a business establishment. read more

The worst market around. I get anxiety when I have to go there, mostly because everyone else does too. On many occasions there, I come across others that literally say, "I hate coming here". The produce is messy and items are flowing to the floor. Employees are NOT helpful at all. I've asked on a few occasions for direction on a few items, they have either not responded at all or say they don't understand. Others love to tell you how they can't wait for their shift to end. Be sure to check expiration dates on packaged food! I bought a baby food pouch on 6/20/23 and when I came home I noticed that the expiration date was in September of 2022! I went back to the store ( they had one more of these pouches left on the shelf) and when I pointed it out to the manager she just told me she had no idea how this happened. This store opened in the fall of 2015 - it used to be the Waldbaum's. It takes time for a store to be fully up and running, so I will follow up on this review in the spring. They've done minor cosmetic improvements to the store, which was aging, but the basic store itself is still old. The new signs make it much easier to find what you are looking for. The selection appears to be better than Waldbaum's was, but not as good as my local Stop & Shop. Prices are better than Waldbaum's. Everything in town is expensive, but this store is not greatly overpriced like the previous store was. There are other options in town that have higher quality and fresher food, but they will be much more expensive. As you enter the store, they have the new scanners you carry with you, that allows you to scan and price each item leading to a faster checkout process. read more

Shockingly atrocious. The IGA was closed so we were forced to head to this store. I've never seen such a disorganized mess masquerading as a grocery shop. Every section was haphazardly thrown together and shelves were empty and in disarray. Once we reached checkout, almost every aisle was closed- so we went to self-checkout. MISTAKE! A large woman stood watch hovering over us while we scanned our items. When I asked her if she was a cashier so she might assist us in checkout- she barked, "I'm not here for anything but to watch if anyone walks out with stuff!" Okie! I went to the help counter and was met with a CLOSED sign, while 2 cashiers chatted next to it and instructed me to get in a line somewhere open. This hovel is an embarrassment to the town, the name and the brand. Avoid at all costs! read more

Never coming back to this store, crowded narrow aisles which is not good in the Covid-19 age. Fruit looks atrocious, the place is filthy, staff is rude and condescending. All in all a horrible shopping experience. Also want to mention that I asked the cashier if she could help me put the packages in the cart; she said it was not part of her job to do that, even though I told her I was 75 years old. She could have attempted to get someone else to help, but no,no humanity in this person, or any of the staff for that matter working in this filth of a store. Where do they find these people. At Whole Foods in Manhattan, the cashiers are only too happy to be of help, I don't even have to ask, and Whole Foods is clean beyond belief, has an incredible fish department that rivals Citarella, organic produce far cheaper, and of course a far wider selection. And the staff can't do enough for me. Have no idea how the people in this rich town as I am constantly reminded of this could allow this nightmare of a store to exist. The Attorney General should be notified. The filth alone justifies closing it. read more

This is an updated review that I wrote when this store was Waldbaums. It seems to be very much the same as far as staff and some outdated dairy products. You really have to check the dates here. After buying outdated food 3 times and letting management know I've noticed it a few more times. It's definitely better because they carry organic products now but they have a long way to go with customer service, keeping the shelves stocked and getting rid of old food. I always go to King Kullen in Bridgehampton when I can and use this store when I can't make it there. read more

Unfortunately when stop&shop acquired walbaums they made no improvements. The most obvious problem is that the aisles are rediculusly narrow. The prices are obviously better than citarella and IGA is disgusting. But nothing has improved deli , meat depth etc. I will say the employees are very pleasant. read more

The WORST staff i have ever encountered all seem to work at this store. The store itself is decent and priced well but the staff are so unhelpful and rude that I only go here in a pinch and would rather drive the extra few minutes to King Kullen in Bridgehampton. On one occasion the deli staff refused to cut thin sliced ham as her shoulder would hurt (really!). Upon my next visit I just avoided it and got some pre-sliced deli ham from the fridge only to find 1lb of ham to be 11 slices. Oh- and never ask staff if they stock something as they usually just say they don't have it. The attitude of the staff needs to change. read more

Wide carts and narrow aisles don't mix so well. Selection is ok, I mean it's got what I eat but the international section kinda stinks. Parking can also be a bit dicey because evil people use that lot to go elsewhere in town, so if you're unlucky you'll have to park in the regular village parking lot. Their fried chicken is extremely good. Highly recommend that one. The workers there are pretty nice. If you're just getting a few things or something to grill, it's gonna be a much better experience than the monstrosity that is King Kullen, Bridgehampton. read more

So this is more of an employee/manager review. The customer service is closed on Sunday so I'm reviewing on Yelp. This is the store I shop at day after day. It's close it's convenient and I know a lot of people that work here. My complaint number one is one particular manager. Her behavior towards the employees has bothered me for quite sometime. She treats people horrible. I know many of them but last night set me off after she treated another employee that was trying to help me, bad and turned around and got nasty with me. Ive been at checkout and she has screamed at staff and been degrading! I for one don't have to put with it. I realize they have a policy but my 17 year old daughter bought eggs. I was with her but we didn't check them I as well Bought eggs but I checked my date and the eggs inside due to many broken in the passed that I didn't check. My daughter told me the eggs were rotten and all broken. The next night I went in town and realized I forgot the receipt but figured I would stop in and ask if I could replace those eggs. At checkout the nice employee said I had to go to customer care and speak to the manager. After checkout I went to the back of the customer service line to wait and the employee came and told me to come and he would ask her. I went to the front and he looked concerned but asked her if we could get eggs for me they were all broken. She looks at me looks at him and says in that degrading voice. What do you want me to do about it? I can't do anything. You got the the receipt? You got the eggs, you got proof there is no proof. We don't sell broken eggs here. Really? Now your talking to me like that! So I said I've gotten plenty of broken eggs here! The employee told me to come and he was whispering to me just it bring the receipt in. I told him she isn't nice and he just shook his head. Long story short I wasn't leaving the store until I spoke to someone about her behavior. I found another manager who is very nice always is and told her the circumstances and she told me to take the eggs I thanked her and told her I would bring the eggs back and receipt so she could see. Not only have I gotten broken eggs I've gotten opened cheese opened salsa. Stuff that wasn't fresh and expired. Most of the employees are amazing but this manager has bothered me for quite sometime with her degrading way she speaks to staff. People look scared to say anything to her especially staff and I told someone she isn't nice and they said no she isn't. What year is this shouldn't people be treated halfway decent especially the staff. But when she decided to use her attitude on me I don't have to put up with it ever. It sucks cause I will continue to shop here but I don't want to see her nastiness around me. Oh and by the way the eggs were expired. My daughter didn't check the date I'll put a picture. read more

This is one of the worst grocery stores I've ever been to. It's depressing, the aisles are too small for the big grocery carts and it's filthy. Unpainted......ugly old linoleum floors. Some of the cashiers are pretty nice and some are very rude, about 50-50. There's a heavyset woman who hovers over people at the self checkout aisle and barks at the customers like she's an army sergeant. Because they have some items I need that aren't at the local IGA, I have to go. Their organic nut milk has been spoiled a few times. Their meat is still frozen when you buy, meaning you cannot freeze it again, or it loses all taste. When getting rung up, at the register, it seems that you don't get the sale prices sometimes and it's a hassle to bark at the cashier asking her about your bill. The whole place is a hassle. I think the worst thing about the place (and there are many things) is the heavyset woman that hovers. I'm a local and my friends and I all are very uncomfortable just seeing her. Why do they have these awful employees? They aren't the only place in town. Now that the IGA on N Main has been taken over, and it's super clean, better food, and local veggies in the summer, we have all started to go there. AND.....the Stop and Shop in Southampton? LOVE it. Totally different. East Hampton Stop and Shop needs to be reported over and over....and also for selling old and expired food. They think nobody looks. read more

My husband came home tonight with 2 green potatoes and out dated meat. Should I blame him? Maybe a little but that's the way the store runs. I really never go there. I find the staff rude, the aisles cluttered and the store looks dirty. To me nothing ever looks fresh. So now what? You have to drive back to the store, money and time wasted. I called about it this time and was told to bring it back. They must get calls all the time. I said; okay but I think you should pull the out dated meat. Who knows. read more

I came in last Thursday at around 9:00 PM. I tried to buy three coors tallboys (beers) and was refused service. I'm 21 and from New Jersey. The manager rudely told me my real ID was fake and gave me some BS about the lamination of the card not going all the way to the corner. Awful experience. read more
