This is an older, small Publix that is decent for a small town. It is well kept up, clean and they…read morehave a lot of nice staff members and nice managers. The deli/hot bar area could use a lot more help though; there are almost always lines there and not enough help to slice deli meat, make sandwiches and/or cook the chickens and hot bar area items, let alone enough help serving them. I think they should do smaller batches of the hot bar items, more frequently to keep items fresher and not overcooked. That area is often neglected with either not much of a selection, especially after 5 pm, and/or overcooked dishes that have been on the hot bar too long; and usually there is no service person dedicated to serving just the hot food bar customers in that area; they seem short-staffed with oblivious help in the fryer area focused more on cooking chicken tenders (used mostly in the deli sandwich making area) and chicken pieces for boxes to put out. They are more often than not out of the Greenwise natural roasted chickens after 5. And regular roasted chickens are low too. But I don't care for the roasted chickens that have a lot of fluid solution injected into them. So I go without unless they have the Greenwise more natural type roasted chickens. They have a decent produce selection, but are lacking some of my favorite gourmet cheeses and other gourmet products that are available at most bigger Publix locations. But they do have a lot of items that aren't going to be found at Winn Dixie or Walmart. It's the best overall grocery store in Okeechobee. And I recommend using their app to see the sales items which run from each Thursday through the next Wed night. You can add items to your list. And make sure you view the digital coupons which you can 'clip' in the app; then when you checkout and enter your phone number associated with the app, their system will enter your clipped coupon discounts and/or BOGO deals. Otherwise you may miss out on some great deals each week! They are open 7-10 M-Sat and until 9 on Sunday except on holidays. And they have a water filtering machine (.50/gal) on the left side of the storefront, outside, that you can use 24/7.

When entering on the left side there is a Mexican restaurant. I haven't had food here but it is always full when we stop by. They have a section where they sell fresh corn tortilla. Each pound is a dollar. They are always warm and delicious. We buy these all the time for cookouts and Sunday lunch. On the right side they have a Mexican grocery store. You will find everything! It reminds me of the Mexico stores we used to visit every summer. They have pan Dulce (sweet bread) which they make fresh there too and there are plenty of different flavors to choose from. They have Mexican spicy candy, sauces, sodas, cookies, chips, etc. You name it and they have it. I typically buy the jarritos (Mexican soda) and spicy chips. Outside they have the famous Mexican taco truck. The tacos are great and authentic. They have several to choose from. My favorite are the tacos al carbon. It is little pieces of skirt steak and they put lime, cilantro, and onions. Several hot sauce to choose from. They also offer Mexican chips with hot sauce of course and Mexican sodas. They have a few tables outside to enjoy your meal. Place is always clean and service is always great. You should check it out if you ever happen to get lost and end up in middle of no where. lol.

Know that I found "Bowling Supermarket" to be friendly place to enjoy. Plus, there adorable market area great for buying favorite parishable goods to prepare a warm Mexican dish in your own house. So if your on the go needing fresh items or just need of a relaxing warm meal. I'm sure you'll the many authentic market items & be mine blown with there Mexican menu this place offers.

We were the ONLY customers here (like we usually are) on a very stormy Sunday afternoon and parked our small truck and trailer in the far spots to avoid leaving muddy ruts in the absolutely flooded grass field next to the place. Literally counted 6+ available spots right in front of the store that we intentionally didn't park in. This mean excuse for a person came out & started yelling at me and my daughter and berating us even as we were nice as pie to his grouchy ass. It was the most odd and inappropriate behavior with such anger and hatred that we will NEVER go back here. He literally chased away his only customer and a great one at that. This place does not deserve your business. We went to the gas station instead and stocked up...and the sweet young lady that works at the gas station is a local gem...so we will let the other locals know to avoid this nasty market. The mean owner just needs to dig a hole and bury himself in it and leave the world to the rest of us decent people.

When I was talking about items you don't normally see, It would be the pickled pigs feet, pickled sausage and chicken feet. I love the pickled pigs feet but haven't and probably never will, try the chicken feet?! They still have the claws attached, which is fine and I'm sure they are delicious! They have a really good deli that you can order a take out meal or have them make you a sandwich. Deli meats and cheeses are top of the line. The produce department is beyond most and they have fresh from the farm vegetables. I love their sweet potatoes! Huge baking type! We had salsa, queso, and then fresh guacamole which was made after we ordered. We also got a ground beef burrito which was mostly beef with a small Amount of rice and cheese. It was huge and delicious. We should have split it!! If you are walking from the Marina as a visitor and you have a dog, leave your dog home. On our walk home, We met a couple of dogs roaming around which were all fine but one made us nervous with our dog.
