It was my first time visiting Kilwins and I love how creamy their ice cream is! I got a kid's scoop of Cappuccino Chocolate Chip and it was the right amount after brunch. You can taste the coffee flavor right away and it didn't taste artificial. I was also offered a taste of the Sea Salt Caramel fudge while in the store. The fudge was good but a small amount can go a long way because it was rich and dense. I saw that they had outdoor seating in the back but since it was a rainy day, we decided to find cover next to the Community Pet Store. My friend Hilary just came back from visiting her mom in Florida and was stoked that there was an establishment here in Huntington. After our delicious meal at Mission Taco, we decided to splurge again and get a cool dessert. There was a short line to get in and all patrons were wearing masks and socially distancing. As we waited, we reviewed the ice cream menu Kilwins posted outside their door. So many great flavors to choose from: Blueberry Waffle Cone, Mackinac Island Fudge, New Orleans Praline Pecan, Marsh-Mallow S'mores, etc. We entered but only allowed to stand in front of a stanchion and place our order. The ice cream menus were strewn on a table for patrons to once again review options. As the employees worked on our ice cream: Old Fashioned Vanilla/ Kilwins Tracks in a cup for me and Pistachio/Cappuccino on a waffle cone for Hilary, you can eye some delectables that they sell from fudge, fancy candies and other chocolate deliciousness. The interior is spacious and esthetically pleasing. The employees are courteous and professional. We then took our treats to an alley around the corner to their outside seating. There is a beautiful mural one passes showing a gorgeous walled canvas of diners that Michelangelo would be proud of. The ice cream is high quality, fresh and tasted delicious. The tracks in Kilwins Tracks were filled with delicious chocolate chunks, worth the cheat. Kudos to Kilwins for really coming through with pleasant service( majority of employees were young kids and they were great!) during a troubling time with a smile on their face. Especially the employee who took my advice, the Store Manager in me, to reposition the sign on the back door, originally used to lead patrons to the outside tables,to the brick wall to prevent patrons from entering the store from that back door ( no inside eating yet). My husband gets a craving for caramel apples every now and then so we make the trek to Huntington just for that. He loves the plain caramel, not the one with nuts. It was an unseasonably long day on Long Island and what better way to celebrate them to have a gigantic waffle ice cream cone? Kilwins's has arrived in Huntington Village... locally owned and operated though a long established Michigan based franchise.. it adds a bit more fun to the town. With sea salt caramel ice cream among other creative flavors, homemade fudge and candy made right in the window to see, covered apples, and assorted dipped fruit, popcorn etc.. it took no time to become popular. It is just down the street from Bon Bon's a long established chocolatier, and across from Ben & Jerry's for ice cream, but it seems to have it's own crowd somewhere in between the two places. Jill made me an amazing candy apple to go when I stopped in and there were only plain caramel's left. Fired up (tempered) the chocolate, crushed some pecans, and filled a pastry bag to drizzle chocolate, then put in ice cream fridge for a few minutes and boxed ... very customer friendly. Apple was too big to eat for a person... I'm going to try doing a few slices to see if it holds up. If not it could all be undone. read more

Ice cream is terrific this review is for the worker there this evening. My wife and I waited in line and came in and the person there asked the couple behind us to come in and ignored us. Then got them their order while we waited patiently. I asked her if they have call in orders since we were first in line before the others to which she quickly replied "oh I'm sorry". One of three things 1) somehow thought the group behind us was skipped which they were not and didn't bother asking us to wait before them which would have cleared this up. Then again the group behind us also didn't clear it up so oh well there goes people doing the right thing. 2) decided to provide service to friends and ignore customers who were waiting well before them. Could be the case but again worker could just be honest about that too. 3) my skin hue was an issue for this employee which I wouldn't be surprised about. I'm gonna really hope it's not option 3 but it's Suffolk county so can't say I'm surprised. Really enjoyed their ice cream and wish this wasn't my experience tonight neither do I wish that others have to deal with this in 2020. read more

usually after a night out in Huntington Village I like to have a slice standing at the counter at Porto Fino. because I rarely indulge in a slice of pizza, this is an ethereal event...but last night after a fantastic dinner at Fado and drinks at Meehan's, we came across Kilwins while walking around town. Now, as many have stated, decent ice cream is well represented in town. This was an impulse purchase...a freshly made waffle cone with a coconut chip type and an AMAZING salted caramel scoop (which Lee M felt was a bit too salty, which it was, but in a good way).
