Home delivery service continues to improve, even with you-never-know-who-you'll get from Instacart, Uber, DoorDash, whomever. Drivers have been uniformly friendly and competent, and pickup has not been delayed by S&S as much as in previous years . In last six months there have been less and less items out of stock, and still NO items omitted from delivery by S&S packers (amazing). Still miss the old Peapod team and process, including refrigerated trucks and delivery people who were like old friends to us. However we are satisfied with the current system. read more

Placed my first home delivery order since Stop and Shop decided to shutter their home delivery and replace it with 3rd party deliveries. Never had a problem until this order. I use a walker and cannot carry heavy items, the driver never called or contacted me to let me know they had arrived and left an entire order of food in the entrance of my condo blocking the door and mailboxes for other owners. The calls to the driver went unanswered. I had to ask for help getting their mess cleaned up. Would not recommend them to anyone and will try to find another service. This place makes me feel insane as I keep trying and hoping for different results however it remains horrendous! I just picked up an $140 order and at least half of the perishable items were moldy, including two with expiration dates of last week! It would be so convenient if they could care to improve as it is a great location and on paper curb side pickup sounds fabulous to a mom with two toddlers! Sadly I'd say this at least my fourth attempt over the last year with the same outcome. Pea pod home delivery seems significantly better but obviously more pricey! Prices are absurd here compared to Market Basket! Sometimes 50% higher. Not only that, but now they have a ridiculous fee of charging 10 cents (+tax) per bag. I only come here for one or two items, and would never want to do a full shopping trip because I'd go bankrupt in a heartbeat. read more

Didn't think I was going to like this store all that much, but it's surely growing on me. Yes, they need a floor to ceiling remodel since the yellow and purple interior is just disgusting.... other than that though, everything is well kept, well maintained, organized, and well stocked. I am very appreciative of the employees here. Michelle, the front end manager, is awesome. She goes above and beyond to please her customers and help resolve any concerns they bring to her attention. The store manager, Dom Mondi, was also very helpful in resolving many concerns that I sent into Stop&Shop Consumer Affairs. In fact, he sent me an email stating what he was going to do to resolve them. Dave and Jason (the other managers) have also been extremely pleasant and receptive to addressing issues and concerns. The store is well organized, well stocked consistently, and has a large selection in every department. It's considerably better than all the nearby Stop&Shop locations (Andover, Methuen, and North Reading). They are very coupon friendly too. I have yet to have one issue using coupons that they haven't successfully taken care of for me. While I definitely hope they renovate this place, I am very satisfied with the staff and availability of everything I am looking for here. 4 stars. read more

This review is specifically for Emily in the florist department. Last weekend, I had to quickly make 5 bouquet arrangements for a party. Emily immediately came over and got to work. She quickly navigated and helped other clients while multitasking and making 5 beautiful sunflower bouquets. Everyone at my event was wowed- the bouquetslooked spectacular. I've been shopping here for close to a decade now. I've always liked the store...good produce, wide aisles, a bank (Citizens). The guys in the meat department are awesome! If you let them know ahead of time they'll cut your meat fresh. The guys behind the deli are awesome.... And always make sure to give my squirts an extra slice of cheese :) prices are what they are, but if you get a S&S card you can get some really good deals. Also, they have (I hope it's still going) a promotion to save money on gas at the Rt. 125 Shell (used to be Texaco). Note** if you continually get the grumpy guy at the gas station, bring him a small hot, cream 1 sugar....he'll be much nicer! But what's this?!? I walked into the baking isle and strewn across the floor are bags of flour!!! I mean just all over the floor! A couple of employees were restocking...what, there are no push carts you could have put them on?? Shame on S & S! At no time should food product EVER be placed on the floor....I shiver just thinking about all the dirt, germs and bacteria those bags could have picked up. If I could give this store zero stars, I would. This review specifically pertains to one of the managers, Tammi. She is extremely unpleasant, unhelpful and unaccommodating. Every interaction myself or my husband have had with her has been awful. When we needed a copy of a receipt, she said it would take at least 3 days because she "wasn't good at that" and would pass it off to her coworker. When we needed to return some items that we got the wrong kind of, she refused - we went to another location and had no problems. I would literally pay money to not have to deal with her. Upper management at the corporate level should be ashamed of this woman's customer service. Especially when other location's managers are significantly more helpful and friendly. read more

I stopped going to this store because of the service. I went in today because I was in a hurry and remembered quickly why I stopped going here. Three lanes open, 25 customers in line and backed up into the main aisle. I counted 6 (yes, 6) Stop and Shop associates in the area (not working on the registers) walking around near the front of the store and doing nothing to help. 2 of the 6 were simply standing behind the customer service desk watching all of this. The managers of this store should be fired and someone should send them to Market Basket for customer service training. read more

The sanitizer wipes at both entrances are neglected. They're left empty 90% of the time. My hands always feel dirty when I leave too. They seldom have what I'm looking for when it comes to specialty and basic necessities (trash compactor bags, dental care, keeping vegetarian options in stock). Stop & Shops are generally all kept the same as far as cleanliness and service is which is always good and quick. This one has a good selection of produce,a decent size meat department and some of the quickest self checkout registers in the area. They also have a huge floral section which often has to spill outside on the sidewalk to display everything and also a huge book selection. The parking lot here is cramped and not an easy in and out which makes it a bit annoying and hard for a quick shop but otherwise this a well kept Stop & Shop. read more

On the way to an appointment, I stopped at the store to pick up some items. On the way out with the items, I used the self check out. I had a problem with the second item, so I pushed the button for an attendant. No one came. I pushed the back button and ran the third item after a minor struggle. Then I wanted to check out. I couldn't. The dummy menu said I had to wait for an attendant. So I waited. Employees passed by, but no one came. I waited. I waited. No one came. I had no more time. I left the items and left. If I could give less stars I would. Store opens at 6:00 BUT don't expect any help.....At 7 still no deli, no produce, no meat, no customer service people. It would be fine if anything was ever stocked but go on any given day and you would think a nor easter is coming through. It's actually astonishing how poorly run and stocked this store is. My question is why open at 6 when I'm told its not fully staffed until 8. If you need to shop early don't waste your time here. Suck it up and wait until 7 and head to North Reading instead. This place is way over priced and the only reason I am shopping here is because I am a Loyal Market Basket Shopper and agree With what all the Employee are Doing 100 percent but the prices are much cheaper at Market Basket like when I bought my OJ Florida Natural it cost me $280 or on sale sometime for 2 for 5 at your place I payed I payed $345 what a big Difference and your blueberry muffin I pay $.95 at Market Basket and 1.85 at your place. I've been shopping at this store for about a month and tend to average about $70-$80 per week on groceries. Friends told me I ought to try Market Basket in Salem,NH. I just got back and the same weeks worth of groceries cost me $34 and that included a 6-pack of premium beer. I just kept walking around the store shocked by the prices..jaw on the ground. Wow, I have not been in Stop and Shop in quite a while and they really have gotten their act together. The store was super clean and the staff was helpful. The friendly staff made my shopping trip a pleasure. While a bit over priced, it not too bad if you stick to sale items. The gluten free selection was great and expansive. It is not always very easy to find a good selection of gluten free foods and Stop & Shop does have it. The produce and meats look fresh and had not been sitting around for a while. The flower selection is really well put together too. Overall if you need some odds and ends, this is your store. It's too expensive to be more than once in a blue moon shopping occasion for me. I shop here for convenience only. Given time, I will drive the extra few miles to Market Basket. The parking lot is consistently littered with scattered shopping carts. Unless it is peak hours there is only one open register. Make sure you check the expiration date on all items. On a positive note the employees are friendly and helpful. read more

The young man that works in the customer service desk in the evening at your North Andover location is a disgrace to your good name! The great customer service & friendly employees are why I choose to shop at Stop & Shop rather than one of the less expensive grocery stores in the area, but this man is going to make a lot of your customers rethink that decision. This young man belittles and talks down to every customer, & employee, that he comes in contact with! If you go up to the customer service desk, he'll first try to ignore you, hoping that you'll go away so he can finish talking to a coworker, or talking on his cellphone. When he's on the phone, or talking to a coworker, he talks about the most raunchy, disgusting, & inappropriate stuff that I can't even believe someone would say, especially in front of other people, & at work! Then, when he does finally acknowledge you, he'll treat you horribly, & say very rude things to the customers, & make you feel like you're making him go out of his way to do even the most simple tasks of his job! When he's not belittling a customer directly, he'll complain about one customer to another customer, or loudly talk to one of his coworkers about someone else! I don't like to complain about people, because I'd hate to think that somebody lost their job because they had a bad day. This young man though, is beyond having a bad day, & he's destroying the good Stop & Shop name that your company has worked very hard to achieve. Please, do yourself a favor, and look into this young man, because something needs to be done! If he was working for my company, I know I'd want to know so I could remove him from my store, & take disciplinary actions against him immediately!
