This store is very clean and feels high end - I would consider this more of a luxury market, almost as if you had a combo of Whole Foods and Highland Park Market (a small local chain in Connecticut). There were a nice amount of unique local offerings I hadn't even heard of before - salt water taffy, chocolates, bulk frozen soups from Blount, etc. There are fresh options like a sushi bar and a small coffee area in the front. The big selling point of this store are those unique offerings, and the best bang for your buck are things they make fresh, breads, desserts, etc. I LOVE their fresh popped flavored popcorn and always have to grab some - just do it!!! Other than those standout features, I can't see myself shopping here regularly if not for those specific items, unless I really didn't want to travel far. It's a smaller store with less selection. Pricing is well above other similar stores - the mark up on a pantry item I picked up was double the price of the exact same thing at Target. Even their "sale" prices don't seem that good of a deal in most cases. They advertise a senior discount on Wednesdays. Self check out and cashiers are set up, but only self check out was open at 8 pm. There's a nice upscale feel here, although staff wasn't helpful in the evening hours when I went, which you would expect more of from this type of experience based store. For basics and pantry staples, you'll find a better deal elsewhere....but honestly, it's still worth a trip just for the popcorn.

My comments have been flooded with Market Basket requests since I started this journey. For full transparency, I didn't know MB existed until I started DOGGIN these chickens. I walked in with my production team, and was so caught off guard. Employees smiling from ear to ear while being dressed to the nines, floors squeaky clean, a fresh popcorn station, a delectable looking hot bar, etc. There is just so much soul in here. This is what a family run grocery store looks like before they sell out. You can just tell, this is their baby. They care so much. They put their heart and soul into running these stores, and it shows. I felt like I was in a Bucee's, and I don't know if I could give a higher compliment. Perhaps the most surprising thing of all was the $4.69 rotisserie chicken. This marks the cheapest tissi Chicken Wars has ever seen. Cheaper than Costco and Sam's Club. How are they doing this? My one concern was that the chicken came in saran wrap, which I thought would make the skin all soggy. The other 32 grocery stores I've tried all came in a plastic bag or plastic container. However, I respected the confidence. They're not scared to do something no one else is doing. Talent hits a target no one else can hit, genius hits a target no one else can see. We got this bird and took it to a park down the street, and I began consumption. The skin was ideal, a perfect golden brown with a slight crisp. The saran wrap didn't make it soggy at all. The breast was perfectly tender and was delicious. I didn't need one sip of water throughout the whole bird. The leg was operating at a high level as well, falling off the bone. I sat on this park bench in awe. How? How can this be $4.69, a good size, and this good? It didn't make sense. I'm still struggling to come to terms with it. I ended up giving it an 8.9/10, which makes it tied for 3rd with the Fresh Market. My only critique is it didn't have as much flavor as Fairway or Publix, but it was right there. I was so inspired that I went back in and tried to buy a hat, but they didn't sell any smh. I was especially thankful for this, as we needed a road win in New England. The other 2 birds I tried up here were ROUGH. A nice side effect of this journey has been traveling to try new birds. Every time I travel, I feel like I gain a wealth of knowledge in a short period of time. I grow and learn every time I go to a new place, and to me, that's what life is all about. My partner and I both saw it at the same time and decided to stop and check them out. This is a lovely market (did I just say that?). It's smaller than the usual big supermarkets we're all used to, but it's really clean and set up beautifully. We walked around and checked out lots of things and bought a French meat pie and picked up a small salmon pie for my mom (she loves salmon). We warmed up the French meat pie and made some mashed potatoes and gravy and we really enjoyed this pie. It's hard to find a good meat pie that is ready made and this one tasted the most like my recipe (the spices were perfect and it didn't have potatoes in it). I can't remember what we paid for it (I want to say $10?) and we ended up getting 2 meals out of it. We'll definitely stop and buy some more next time we're in town!!
