Not sure what happened to Daou Market since I have been here last. Used to be the best market in Fall River but now I come and everything I buy is expired. I bought two packages of Bell and Evan chicken thighs that had an expiration date of 3.28.25. One package so bad upon opening. I threw them both out. I really want to like this market but bad meat turns my stomach. read more

My new favorite market to shop at! I recently moved to the area and just found out about Daou's Market and I'm so happy I did. I love everything at this market. The salads are amazing, the prepared food is fresh and delicious. This was my first time getting a steak wrap there and I need to go back and get another one ASAP! The market offers different spices, foods and desserts you might not be able to find at your local Stop and Shop or other grocery store. I love the spice selection there. The grape leaves are my favorite at this market too. I can't wait to go back next weekend and get more salads and I need to try the falafel! read more

Sadly, I have to downgrade this spot. Yes, Daou is cute and has all sorts of cool Middle Eastern/Greek products. It's got some decent breads and the produce is okay. However, I generally come here for the spinach pies and they've been disappointing. They're a lot more dough-y and seemingly less fresh than before. The last ones I took, it seemed like eating a bunch of dough (hard dough at that) before I got to the mediocre spinach filling. Also, the last time I went, it seemed like they didn't have their crap together, as their pies were misplaced and mislabeled. I didn't get the spinach and feta pie I ordered but something else, which annoyed me. read more

Stopped here on a road trip through in desperate need of a sandwich. They made me a falafel sandwich to order that was one of the best I've eaten. Delicious and fresh ingredients. Cute market, too, with many treats. So glad I stopped! read more

Been to Daou s Market a few times. I usually go there when I need a thing or two. Not a place to do grocery shopping because everything is over priced. Very limited products , and most of the things I like I cant really find there. Went there the other day because I needed some chicken and it was a bad idea. Took the chicken home and noticed a bad odor, when I took the plastic off... the chicken was slimmy and not fresh at all. This is not the first time I got bad meat from Daous. The first time I threw it away and gave them a pass but this time I had to return it and get my money back. The manager was good enough and agreed that the chicken was bad..so was ALL the other packaged chicken that was next to it. He had to take them all off the shelves. Its unfortunate that I had to bring the meat back for them to notice there was an issue with all the chicken in the cooler. Will never shop at Daous again unless I'm really desperate for a bottled juice or water. Customer service isn't too bad but I'm not eating customer service. read more

The Daou. I've been frequenting here weekly for nearly 1.5 years. Always a bit strange but completely fine. They always have a random selection of already made wraps, salads and easily heat-up-ables, ghuuu! I once got something labeled "Vegetarian Meat Lasagna". It really was both. ??? They also can make you sandwiches to order and they have shit like meat pies, spinach pies, various pasta salads and other Greek or Portuguese whatever-the-hells on hand. Other than that, it's a standard grocery with produce and cans of Motts, Ragu and Pringles, and you can even get a bag of Combos, a pack of Kraft Singles, and a half-gallon of Vitamin D Whole Milk, if you're feeling fucking frisky. read more

Other than the fact that I can't wrap my lips around how to pronounce this store's name, I really really really dig the bread sold here. Tabouli lovers will be in ecstasy. And it has a homey atmosphere too, which is nice amid a world owned by Target and Wal-Mart. My main reservation: No beer, wine or booze! read more

This is an interesting grocery store with a mix of ethnic prepared, fresh, frozen, canned foods. There is a smallish produce section and a dairy case with the usual eggs and milk as well as Greek yogurts and cheeses. The fresh meat section has a variety of marinated products, lots of portuguese sausages, and some tasty lebanese meat and spinach pies. Good stuff! The prepared foods range from creton--a canadian pork spread, to bulgur wheat with veggies, to stuffed quahoags. The pastry department offers a pretty good selection of pastries and breads. One can find canned and boxed food from pretty much all over the world. Interesting place to shop and prices are ok. read more

First-time visitor to Daou. I just wolfed down the freshest, most authentic Greek salad I ever had. Also had a chicken salad sandwich with green leaf lettuce on great bread. And the employees were wonderfully friendly. They need a website and a Facebook page... I want to help promote this place! read more

Aside from the fact that they make spinach pies and meat pies... and other assortment of middle eastern food, its a rather ordinary store. I really don't understand what the fuss is about... There are many other grocery stores around that I shop at because the prices are much better. Its like paying for groceries in a convenience store. I only get the ethnic stuff there. DONT BUY YOUR MEATS FROM THIS MARKET! I don't think I've ever got fresh chicken from them. That's why I don't buy my meats there anymore! They also have prepared food in packages that are sell by 2 1/2 wks. I'm sorry but even pasta salad I would eat from my fridge if I made it 6 days ago! I found this little gem while looking for the ingredients for a Lebanese dish. I love this place! They have many hard to find things at very good Prices (ie: Pomegranate Molasses)Then I discovered their prepared foods and am hooked! Everything is freshly made in store and is fabulous If you need help making something the staff is friendly and ready to help. Still love the falafal, kibbe, and tabbouleh. I discovered this place a few years ago...what a find!! I love their little hand pies...buffalo chicken is a favorite of the family but the spinach and feta are my favorite! What a great place to find unusual foods and spices from different ethnicities....great flavors from all over. Nice selection of ready to go foods, a nice deli where they'll whip you up a sandwich or they will heat up a pie or two...no problem. A godsend in Fall River, an ever present refuge from the Stop & Shop. Fantastic, healthy prepared food, delicious fresh breads, fresh produce, a deli, and groceries. Perfect in every way! It's a private, mom-and-pop store and worth maybe a few cents more for things. Today for lunch I bought two Mediterranean samplers for lunch and they were incredible. They also have nice grocery items including my favorite (coffee) and a lot of other prepared foods. Will keep going. read more

Great place for last minute shopping or to get some of your favorite middle eastern/ Greek foods and ingredients. Being very close to them, I don't always want to go to shaws and this is perfect. This is a cool ethnic market hidden inside a quiet small time grocery store. The meat pies they make on the premises are unique and delicious and they seem to have recently expanded their varieties. The service is fantastic and friendly and the prices are reasonable. I do most of my shopping at this little market, saving my trips to the bigger chain stores for bulk items and stuff you can't get at Daou's. read more

I love their French bread especially when it's warm. The other things they have are ok. I've gotten pies there and it was cold and it tasted nasty. They didn't bother heating it up for me. I think they could be a little bit friendlier. read more

They don't clean their meat slicer machines, mainly the blades. Always grime on edges of sliced meat. The chicken has a funky smell and it doesn't go away after cooking. I wasn't poisoned that I know of, but they surely don't have good meat handling practices. read more

I have to say, I was excited to think I found a new place to get middle eastern food. Little market with your basic staples plus yummy food. I have to say, because of my experience today, I don't think I will be back. I'm at the back counter waiting to order pies. There's a sandwich station to the right with a couple customers, and a deli to the left with one person behind the counter and no customer in sight. I wait for a bit then ask the deli counter if there is someone to help with my section. She said she was with a customer (they were apparently invisible), and she calls out to Lisa on the floor - Lisa, can you help this customer? Lisa responds in the snottiest, rudest, exasperated voice, shaking her pony-tailed head, I am with a customer right now, I can't help you. Seriously chick, all you had to say was "I will be with you in a minute". I took what I had in my carriage, walked to the register and left. Lisa - you single-handedly lost my business.
