Steak wrap, salads!
Maggi N.

My new favorite market to shop at! I recently moved to the area and just found out about Daou's Market and I'm so happy I did. I love everything at this market. The salads are amazing, the prepared food is fresh and delicious. This was my first time getting a steak wrap there and I need to go back and get another one ASAP! The market offers different spices, foods and desserts you might not be able to find at your local Stop and Shop or other grocery store. I love the spice selection there. The grape leaves are my favorite at this market too. I can't wait to go back next weekend and get more salads and I need to try the falafel!

Veggie platter. Meh. Hummus and tabouli was good but that was it.

I just stopped here for lunch because there didn't seem to be much in the area. Got a veggie platter out of the deli. It was meh. Maybe I should have gotten a sandwich instead.

Smelly and Bad chicken from Daou's.

Been to Daou s Market a few times. I usually go there when I need a thing or two. Not a place to do grocery shopping because everything is over priced. Very limited products , and most of the things I like I cant really find there. Went there the other day because I needed some chicken and it was a bad idea. Took the chicken home and noticed a bad odor, when I took the plastic off... the chicken was slimmy and not fresh at all. This is not the first time I got bad meat from Daous. The first time I threw it away and gave them a pass but this time I had to return it and get my money back. The manager was good enough and agreed that the chicken was bad..so was ALL the other packaged chicken that was next to it. He had to take them all off the shelves. Its unfortunate that I had to bring the meat back for them to notice there was an issue with all the chicken in the cooler. Will never shop at Daous again unless I'm really desperate for a bottled juice or water. Customer service isn't too bad but I'm not eating customer service.

The rotisserie chicken that they have on Saturdays is delicious, even my picky eating five year old was all about it. I also love their marinade that they have at their meat counter, it's like a piri piri/chorizo sauce. You can buy meat already marinating in it or a container of it for undere $2. You just have to ask at the meat counter. I also like to stock up on my Azores butter here. The cheese counter is a lovely sight. My aunt loves the St Jorge cheese. They cut it right off of the wheel for you. I'm obsessed with the fresh cheese that they carry from Manny's Dairy Farm. The large container generally does not last the weekend once my husband and I dig into it. Like fresh mozzarella, but better. The piece de resistance for me is their Portuguese corn bread-- broa. If you've never had it, it's a corn and rye bread (not at all like Southern cornbread). When you are headed to the checkout here they have it towards the front. I don't know if it's like this everyday, but on Saturday mornings it is literally still hot when you grab one. Super fresh and super delicious. It's the perfect compliment to that fresh cheese! Overall a solid supermarket with great items.
