It would be such a great thing if they did and be a competitor of whole foods which thankfully is now opening nearby. Or even Tom's market in Warren which this market is very close to in regards to the type of business and the way it's set up.....but the biggest thing is the meat, I don't really get the big deal about the meats. My husband has been trying to find out exactly where their meats come from and not hearing anything about any local farms or humanely raised humanely certified nothing. They seem to come from these giant meat companies. So I don't really understand what the big deal is. He brought home a couple steaks a few weeks ago that were almost $40. And they were terrible. I don't know what they add to the meat to make it look the color it does or anything. I wish they made very clear exactly where and what farms they use to get their products... Oh well. Like I said the family is very nice. Their staff is very nice. The staff behind the deli is superb. Super nice kids working there. My partner and I both saw it at the same time and decided to stop and check them out. This is a lovely market (did I just say that?). It's smaller than the usual big supermarkets we're all used to, but it's really clean and set up beautifully. We walked around and checked out lots of things and bought a French meat pie and picked up a small salmon pie for my mom (she loves salmon). We warmed up the French meat pie and made some mashed potatoes and gravy and we really enjoyed this pie. It's hard to find a good meat pie that is ready made and this one tasted the most like my recipe (the spices were perfect and it didn't have potatoes in it). I can't remember what we paid for it (I want to say $10?) and we ended up getting 2 meals out of it. We'll definitely stop and buy some more next time we're in town!!

My comments have been flooded with Market Basket requests since I started this journey. For full transparency, I didn't know MB existed until I started DOGGIN these chickens. I walked in with my production team, and was so caught off guard. Employees smiling from ear to ear while being dressed to the nines, floors squeaky clean, a fresh popcorn station, a delectable looking hot bar, etc. There is just so much soul in here. This is what a family run grocery store looks like before they sell out. You can just tell, this is their baby. They care so much. They put their heart and soul into running these stores, and it shows. I felt like I was in a Bucee's, and I don't know if I could give a higher compliment. Perhaps the most surprising thing of all was the $4.69 rotisserie chicken. This marks the cheapest tissi Chicken Wars has ever seen. Cheaper than Costco and Sam's Club. How are they doing this? My one concern was that the chicken came in saran wrap, which I thought would make the skin all soggy. The other 32 grocery stores I've tried all came in a plastic bag or plastic container. However, I respected the confidence. They're not scared to do something no one else is doing. Talent hits a target no one else can hit, genius hits a target no one else can see. We got this bird and took it to a park down the street, and I began consumption. The skin was ideal, a perfect golden brown with a slight crisp. The saran wrap didn't make it soggy at all. The breast was perfectly tender and was delicious. I didn't need one sip of water throughout the whole bird. The leg was operating at a high level as well, falling off the bone. I sat on this park bench in awe. How? How can this be $4.69, a good size, and this good? It didn't make sense. I'm still struggling to come to terms with it. I ended up giving it an 8.9/10, which makes it tied for 3rd with the Fresh Market. My only critique is it didn't have as much flavor as Fairway or Publix, but it was right there. I was so inspired that I went back in and tried to buy a hat, but they didn't sell any smh. I was especially thankful for this, as we needed a road win in New England. The other 2 birds I tried up here were ROUGH. A nice side effect of this journey has been traveling to try new birds. Every time I travel, I feel like I gain a wealth of knowledge in a short period of time. I grow and learn every time I go to a new place, and to me, that's what life is all about. The eggplant I got were the best ones because the rest were kind of mushy. A lot of items didn't have price tags either and I found it kind of annoying to keep asking how much an item was. The food selection is mostly Vietnamese. There is 1% of Korean food which is what I was looking for. After walking around for 30 minutes I asked the owner if he had tofu and it was behind a counter in the back for 99 cents a block which is not very cheap to me but cheaper than stop and shop so I got a couple of those. All in all, this place is great if you're looking for a selection of Vietnamese food, dried goods, or sauces. The frozen and vegetable section is lacking and they could have more of a variety or Korean, or Japanese foods.

There are shelf stable grocery items like snacks, canned goods, dried noodle meals, candies, cooking oils and more. Then you have ALL THE SPICES. Little bags, big bags, whole seed or ground options. There are pure spices or you can get spice blends like garam masala and tikka seasoning. They have a small selection of fresh vegetable and produce including onions, potatoes, chilies, okra, long beans....and more. There is a refrigerated section and a frozen section where you can find paneer, yogurt, bottled lassis, prepared naan and chapati and rotis. They also have frozen, ready to heat meals and appetizers. And if you're really into Indian cuisine at home, they have all the essential cooking utensils and serving dishes available as well. Seriously, it's really good and worth the drive from out of town!
