This store needs to train its staff on empathy and customer service. Saw a cashier refuse to give a disabled elderly lady the sale price on a few items simply because she didn't download the digital coupon 15 minutes prior to checking out. Apparently the coupons take at least 15 minutes to activate. They could have given her the sale price as a courtesy but the cashier was so rude. She also charged her extra for other items, which then forced her to wait in a long line for a refund from customer service. Disgusting behavior. I am really worried about the employees in this place. I never met a more glum, unhappy, unengaged group. Maybe it's because their understaffed or underpaid, that there is long lines, or that the self checkout assumes customers are stealing products, or maybe it's all of the above. Every time I make the mistake of going here instead of Market Basket, I feel sad. Instead of under investing to save money, Stop and Shop should invest in their employees and their stores, hire more staff, and create a better atmosphere for shopping so they have happier staff and customers. Online pickup at this location is awful. More than half the time the order isn't ready on time, there's always a sob story about someone being late. If it happens this frequently, it's not just because of one person being late. I'll be going to Shaws moving forward. read more

Wow, this place has gone steeply downhill in a few short years. Needed to buy a shower curtain and shower rings....the store had a surplus of shower curtains but there was not a single shower ring to be found anywhere in the store. The help was no help. Asked 3 different associates, the first just shrugged, the second suggested I stand in a 20 person deep line at the help desk, the last pointed me in the direction of an aisle I had already searched twice, hey thanks a lot pal. Stop and shop in Stoughton They employees are hard working and pleasant . My problem is that they don't hire enough people for the amount of customers. . Never enough registers open. I am older and can't ever find an employee to get something heavy off the top shelf..I end up asking a customer to help. This is unfortunate. read more

We went for the 1st time last night to go shopping after buying a house in the area. After walking in we went over to customer service to get a store card. Worker behind desk was helpful. Once we started to walk over to the fruits and veggies area, I started to look for some fruit. Every piece of fruit was either soft or already going bad. The veggies were not much better. I understand about Covid. That being said, the store should be on top of that. Especially since it's the first thing you see when you walk in. There was also a freezer leaking down the whole isle. Things break, I get it. I also heard it was broken all day. Don't they have plumbers/HVAC, whoever would repair a problem like that on the payroll or at the least one on an emergency basis? The shelves were empty, the floor was disgusting. Unfortunately, I need to have good friuts and veggies so I will not be going back. The stores need to be updated and redone. This feeling has been coming on for a long time now, but today just confirms how I feel. I don't think there's a reason to go to this store any more. 1. It's crowded because there aren't enough people working at the cash registers. Therefore, long lines disrupt the flow of shopping. 2. Then, there's the RUDE, incompetent, self checkout that screams at you the whole time: PLACE YOUR ITEM IN THE BAGGING AREA! (when it isn't screwing up), Then, every 15 seconds, it screams it at you again as you bag your groceries. "Please Remove All Bagged Items!. Now, to me, that means this company is telling me to hurry up and GET OUT! There's gratitude for you! I bought so much stuff from you, Stop & Shop, that it's taking me a little more than 15 seconds to bag my items. 3. Speaking of bags, If I'm not mistaken, I got charged for each bag today.too (10 cents a bag)! AND the RUDE self checkout voice made me predict how many bags I was going to need before I even bagged anything. Seriously. Can't make this stuff up. 4. For weeks Stop & Shop bragged about how there would be soooooo many more items now that they've redesigned the store. Um...haven't found that to be the case. I couldn't even find Quaker Rice Cakes today (just some obscure, wierd Lundberg organic brand that I KNOW my Grandchild won't go for). 5. The produce doesn't taste very good, and they've even managed to sell me frozen vegetables (Stop & Shop brand) that have gone bad (how do you do that?)! My biggest beef is with the self checkout. You're a rich company Stop & Shop. Pay PEOPLE a decent wage and benefits. Invest in good produce. Until you do, I'm not coming back. You have directed the bakery to cut each hermit more or in half and put a total of eight halves in container and charge 3.99. Prior the hermits were six in a container and 3.49. This item is very popular in this store , but not in this present package. So basically you are giving us less and charging more.... One register open, had about 8 people waiting inline. Went to self-checkout, waited and waited. finally get to a register and of course, the computer starts telling me i need help, however, the one person working in this area is basically checking out someone's entire carriage because that person didnt know how to do it. So, i finish. Walking out, reviewing receipt. Notice discrepencies. Go to service desk, big sign "closed". walk back to self checkout, the cashier in that area doesnt know how or have ability to refund and says the service desk person left for the day....so S&S now owes me around $8.00. such a disgrace. read more

I want to say a special Thank you to Stop N Shop in Stoughton. I live in Walpole and I visit and shop at about 5 or 6 different Stop n Shops The Stoughton storer is the ONLY store. That keeps two products that I need everyday in stock. . I made a written request a couple years ago . While all the stores try to keep the products stocked. Every time I try to reach them, they have their phone off the hook. Their managers purposely take the phone off the hook to detract people from calling there. Once you leave the produce section, the rest of the store starts to look disheveled, old and dirty. Would never shop here again. Definitely one of the worst Stop&Shop stores in the area. I actually recognized an employee here that used to work at one of my local Stop&Shop stores. Anyway, this store is terrible. I'm comparing it to my local Stop&Shop, 25 minutes away from here in Walpole (which is the best supermarket, ever!), which has many more aisles, as well as a full Nature's Valley section (which this store doesn't have). The Walpole location also has been given a full remodel as well as large aisles, more aisles, and amazing staff, who make me look forward to shopping at their store... here that doesn't exist. Even the seasonal section is much smaller than in my store, and everything in all of the "general store" aisles seemed picked over. The aisles here are consistently dirty (today, and my last visit), and the floor is disgusting.... at least they redid the checkout area which, surprisingly looks very good now (yet there should be more checkout registers, and more self checkouts). The woman helping at the self checkout was helpful and friendly, Karen, who was able to help me with a price discrepancy, she was the saving grace of the entire experience. But very dissatisfied with this old, small, and dirty store. Highly suggest making the drive to Walpole (thank god I live right near it!), it's completely worth getting groceries from a place you can trust and feel good about shopping. read more

Stopped here because I saw they had ground beef on sale online, get to the store and it's $1.50/lb higher than advertised, no one could explain this, and I couldn't refute my claim because the cell reception is terrible and their 'free wi-fi' is even worse. Their prices are lousy, as well as the quality of their meat/seafood and especially produce. If you're not shopping at Market Basket yet you're doing it wrong. Their prices are so much more competitive that they can sell so much more volume so the turnover is so much better. Fresher and better quality meat/produce. read more

This Super Stop & Shop kinda blows, it's kinda small for a "Super", but this is the better supermarket out of 3 closest to my house. It seems they don't carry as much as other SS as other ones I have been to and I hate that they do not have a Fresh Seafood counter anymore. All the seafood is now totally frozen solid and in freezer cases. I do a lot of comparison shopping between the supermarkets around me, checking the flyers to see who has what on sale. I rather go to Market Basket or Whole Foods in Hingham or Dedham, but is is so out of the way when you need to pick up something quick.But at least I can earn points with the S&S card and can save on gas. read more

Service here a joke. Self scan will have you be looked at as a criminal if you add and replace items. So I can't find a cheaper item and remove the more expensive one. This place will send someone to check your stuff and check your cart. They will not apologize for the inconvenience after. This has happen to me several times over the years. Other time, I was bagging my items in the parking lot because that is where my reusable bag were. The lady came check my receipt and then apologize. The only good thing here is the items in the store. The service is horrible, so if you buy more then 150 items on self check, then you will be treated like a Criminal. Their self scanner gun is trash too. Sometime it won't scan an item. They told me I am not the only one they do it too. They need to fix their service and self-service. I shouldn't be pull over to the side because your self service gun sucks. read more

I used their pickup service today for the first (and last) time. The website is miserable to use and, four hours after the $120+ order was finalized, I got an email telling me that 10 of the 31 items I ordered were "out of stock." ALL of the items were listed as being in stock and some of them are everyday items that are virtually NEVER unavailable. Since the whole purpose of this was to avoid having to go to the store in person and I now have to do just that, there is no point whatsoever in ordering groceries to pick up. If I have to physically go to a store, it's back to Shaw's for me. This was the most difficult online shopping experience I've ever had. Roche Brothers is better, easier and more reliable. I just left there, I had about $300 worth of food in my cart . I went to check out all they had open was the self checkout lanes. Not 1 lane was open that had a human at it. I don't feel like spending 20 minutes scanning then bagging my own food. I guess this store has issues judging by its its ratings. So I left my full cart in the self check out lane and walked out the door. I didn't go full Karen and speak to the manager, but might as well add to their raving reviews. read more

I go there after work every 2-3 days. Went to deli at 8:19 pm wide open 2 guys standing there doing nothing but talking. I looked to them for help and they told me they are closed. I have gone there for years after work, I know the deli is open until 9 pm. I asked him what time they close, he said 8 pm. This chain of stores and especially this store is an embarrassment. This has to be one of the worst Stop and Shops ever. Its stinks because its convenient for me to get to after work. Let's start with the vegetables. They are so limp and sickly looking, they look like they belong in the trash. They have a nerve to actually sell them. Price Mart or whatever it is probably has better vegetables. The place is filthy. Last night I picked up some lamb chops and brought home to cook and when I opened the package the smell literally almost knocked me over. This is one of the most disappointing Stop and Shops I have ever been to. Their produce section consists of mostly expired items, so I have learned to dig for decent items or change dinner plans when I am unsuccessful for finding items that I need that have not already expired. I only use this store for convenience since it is the closest one, but I will drive up to 20 minutes to neighboring grocery stores when looking for fresh produce. read more

I used to go to this Stop & Shop all the time on lunch breaks, just for the salad bar. It had the best options and everything was fresh up until the middle of the day, as far as I could tell. The store gets quite busy tho, and overall grocery pricing is much more expensive than Shaws, Hannaford or Market Basket. read more

I have been a Peapod customer since its inception--more than a decade--and have always been happy. Were they perfect? No. There were errors but they were promptly rectified. Some things were out of stock, but never more than one or two items. THIS INCLUDES SERVICE DURING THE PANDEMIC. However, since you have switched distribution centers to Brockton, and since Stop and Shop changed providers for delivery, the service has been horrendous! I had a delivery scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29, betw 5 and 8 pm. At 8pm I received a phone call saying the driver was delayed and would arrive between 9:10 and 9:30pm. At about 9:45, I received a text message that the driver had arrived. At 10:08, I attempted to call customer service to tell them the driver had NOT arrived, but your customer service ends at 10pm. The next morning (yesterday) the groceries had still not arrived. I called customer service (the person I talked to was wonderful--helpful and apologetic and professional) and was told it "got too late" and so the driver hadn't delivered the order--no explanation for the text that the driver "had arrived." The next available slot was Thursday morning (two days after scheduled delivery). I was told I would be credited the delivery fee (I was not) and that I would receive via email a coupon for $20 (I did not). Just now, the driver (who was very professional and nice) dropped off a sadly incomplete order. The milk jug was broken and leaking. Regular ginger ale was substituted for diet. (Why wasn't a different brand of diet ginger ale substituted? I can't have sugar. What am I supposed to do with two 12-packs of soda I can't drink.) And 14 of the 35 items I ordered were out of stock, including soap and sponges (there were no substitutes for those? Really?) I am so furious and disappointed that after 10 years of customer loyalty, I'm ready to stop using this service. I would love to hear a response to this! Laura Brady read more

This is a store of yesteryear. It is sad to see one of the so called "Super Stop and Shops" deteriorate into skinny aisles, a boarded up pharmacy (no credible answer given for its close), a corner of the store "no man's land" with just wall shelves and no plan to use it properly, an inadequate produce section.... This is a truly neglected store whose origins began in the 1980's as a gem. Looking at its insides you feel like nothing has been done to upgrade it by upper upper management. I only go there now if I need 2 or 3 items. I have to go elsewhere to shop as this store is too small for 2018 in terms of items carried. Shame on upper management in the corporate world. I live in a nearby town, so I usually shop here for groceries and to send money abroad to support family via Western Union. I am very annoyed regarding being asked which country I was born at this Stop & Shop location. I am sending money- what does where I was born have to do with sending money. The people who work at this store are rude. The cashiers attitudes are horrible and they will not greet you--coming or going. The store has a really bad odor. Also, the store is in need of a renovation. The floors are always dirty. As much money people spend at this store for overpriced products it would be nice to see some of it going back in maintaining the store. read more

Stop & Shop in Stoughton is a great store. The employees are welcoming and friendly. The quality of the product is excellent. I've tried Market Basket and other stores. Besides not saving much money the quality of the food was terrible. Stop and Shop has amazing customer service and product. Thats where I choose to spend my money. I am never disappointed. Yes they need some renovations to the store but it is well maintained and clean. read more
