Garbage steak had all this trimmed off to be edible

I will never shop for choice cuts of meat here again! Granted the items that stop n shop did NOT butcher and pack are usually great. However the quality control on the more expensive steaks is horrendous the filet mignon was mostly sinew silver screen and veins. Sadly it's not the first time at all I'm just tired of wasting time and money now. Don't buy the expensive cuts here, I include the $25 tbone was also poor quality but this filet mignon is ridiculous terrible. Stick to milk and eggs, pasta and deli here.

This is the SECOND time this has happened. I understand that sometimes the produce molds on the inside but there has to be a way to rotate veggies when they've been sitting too long instead of putting them to the front. If I can do that with my fruits and veggies and know when they've been sitting too long, it should be possible for a store to do this. Mind you, I was in a rush, so I didn't inspect the outside until I got home ... there was a black patch on the back. This is DISGUSTING... there is a huge yellow maggot in there as well. This is the second time with a pepper but I've seen molded strawberries before as well. I will go elsewhere to get my produce.

It's big. It has groceries. It has a bank. It has a bathroom. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT? I don't want the bathroom point to be forgotten. This has a nice public restroom for anyone's usage. It's right up front and so sweet. This Stop and Shop has an attached Food & Liquor store. This is huge because if you're trying to throw an insane party that creates a wormhole into another universe, you need all the alcohol you can get. Load up on beer and snacks at the grocery store, then fly by the neighboring liquor store for the hard stuff. This Stop and Shop is so friggen big. You could have a full scale sporting event in the aisles. You could hit a 3 iron across the whole store and you'd still have room to spare on the green. My dream is to take my razor scooter and fly by these hallowed halls. It's beautiful, big, and oh so new.

    Storefront. Lots of space.

Located behind the Sheraton Hotel, I think this tucked-away store is technically in the Town of Greenburgh, but the posted licenses in the store list 3 different cities with the address of 600, but since the Stop and Shop website says 610 and Tarrytown, I'll go with that. This is a pretty big market for NY standards. It carries a lot of different products for the different communities in the area and even has an aisle just for packaged organic foods and snacks (it's a short aisle, but if organic Heinz ketchup is what you want, it's there). Some products show up in different sections of the store, which can cause confusion. On my first visit, I saw a small small cheese selection stocked with generics and pre-shredded major brands. On my second visit, I found the island of gourmet cheeses at the opposite end of the store by the deli and produce. This store tries to cover all the bases with a small cafe, a Citibank, a bakery, and other small built-in businesses. The pet aisle is well-stocked and even has a small refrigerator for doggie ice cream. I visit this area often and have been getting tired of hopping on the freeway to go to Whole Foods and the other nearby markets have been lackluster. There is another Stop and Shop down the street, but it doesn't carry as many items as this one. There is plenty of parking, the store is LEED certified (energy efficient), there seems to be plenty of employees around if you need help, and is a welcome addition for both the locals and travelers (like me).

    GROSS MOLDY PEPPERS.

I am here on a trip now and have noticed the location has gone a bit downhill. I can't go into all the details but it's an overall impression based on a few interactions with employees, the way food products are displayed, the breakfast area looking very sloppy with equipment and supplies left around as well as other impressions. I wonder if management has either recently changed or has it just been a slow slippage. Either way, it's a bit disappointing but I will continue to go there out of necessity.

Maybe I'm Missing the Trader Joe's Hype?…read more I'm genuinely not sure what all the rave is about when it comes to Trader Joe's. ‍ We recently stopped in, and I went in expecting this eclectic, health-forward shopping experience that I've heard so much about. Instead, I walked out wondering if Trader Joe's is more of a trend than anything else. For starters, I honestly didn't feel like there was that much to choose from. There seemed to be a HUGE emphasis on snacks, packaged items, and frozen foods. I expected a much broader and more interesting variety of fresh foods, fruits, vegetables, and unique healthier options. And some of the nutrition labels caught me off guard. For example, I picked up a can of chickpeas with cumin and parsley and noticed it had around 740 mg of sodium per serving--with only two servings in the can. That really made me question the "health-forward" reputation I've always associated with Trader Joe's. Of course, not everything in a grocery store has to be low-sodium or healthy, but I guess my expectations were simply different based on everything I've heard. Ambiance- Then there was the shopping experience itself. CHAOTIC! The store was so crowded and hectic that we could barely maneuver through the aisles comfortably. People and carts everywhere, and instead of casually browsing and discovering new things, I felt like we were just trying to get through the store. To be fair, there were definitely some interesting products, and I can understand why people might have their favorite Trader Joe's items that keep them coming back. Maybe I need another visit--or someone who is a Trader Joe's fanatic to tell me exactly what I'm supposed to be looking for! But based on this visit alone? 3 stars. It wasn't terrible by any means, but I walked in expecting to understand the Trader Joe's obsession...and walked out still wondering: Is Trader Joe's really that special, or has shopping there simply become part of the trend?

I love the Stew Leonard experience!…read more My daughter especially loves pushing all the buttons to animate the random characters and songs throughout the store. She also likes pushing the mini shopping cart around. There is so much to choose from and there is so much space. Every time I have been it was not crowded. I was very skeptical of their lobster roll, but I tried it. It was actually reallly good. There was a good amount of lobster, butter made it even better, and my daughter ate most of it. So, we had to buy another one. Also, the soft serve ice cream! It is cheap and rich and creamy. I always go back when I can.

Stew Leonard's in Yonkers isn't just a grocery store... it's basically a field trip for adults…read more From the moment you walk in, you realize this is not your average "run in, grab milk, get out" kind of place. Nope. This is a "let me just grab one thing" that somehow turns into a full-on adventure. First stop--the candy shop . I'm not even ashamed to say it brought out my inner kid immediately. Bright colors, endless options... you go in for groceries and suddenly you're debating how many snacks is too many snacks (answer: there is no such thing ). Then you hit the hot food area . The soup bar was steaming like it had something to prove, and everything looked fresh and ready to warm your soul. Perfect for those "I don't feel like cooking today" days... which, let's be honest, is most days. Now let's talk about the pizza station --because WOW. Fresh pies, great prices, and slices that actually look like they were made with love. This isn't gas station pizza... this is "lemme grab one slice" that turns into two... maybe three The olive bar deserves its own moment. The selection is wild--in a good way. Neatly organized, tons of variety, and somehow it makes you feel classy while scooping olives into a container like you know what you're doing. Then you slide over to the butcher section ... clean, premium cuts, and everything looks like it belongs in a steakhouse. If you mess up dinner with meat like that, it's not the store's fault--it's yours The fresh cut fruit section is another win--colorful, fresh, and ready to go. Healthy choices were definitely whispering my name... I just chose not to listen for a little while longer And the dairy section? Rows on rows of fresh milk with that farm-style vibe --it almost makes you feel like you should be wearing overalls while shopping. To top it all off, I grabbed a drink and just stood there for a second taking it all in . Clean store, great layout, and an overall vibe that actually makes grocery shopping enjoyable... which is rare. I could write so much more about this store this review will turn into a novel. I will say whoever came up with the strategic idea of having no aisles, like standard grocery stores, is a hero in the super market industry. The set up doesn't allow you to miss anything in the store. If you shop, you have to travel through every section in a winding, one-way, one-road, colorful and exciting journey through the land of Oz. From the entrance to the cash registers there is no way to skip over anything. Must-see-marketing! Bottom line: Stew Leonard's turned a simple grocery run into an experience. You come in for milk and leave with snacks, pizza, olives, and somehow a whole new attitude about grocery shopping Fresh, fun, and dangerously easy to overspend--in the best way possible. 5 stars all day!

I thought it was like a fast casual place. I could not get cell service so I had to connect to their wifi. When I ordered, I saw they asked for a tip. That was frustrating since I am doing almost all of the work and what am I tipping for? I gave the standard 20% tip because if they see I do not want to tip then I am probably begging for food poisoning. Just like any McDonalds, the staff brings the food and that is all they do except clean up any part of the table that you cannot clean up yourself. The margherita pizza and truffle fries were nice. The pizza is too big for one person even though the menu says "individual." Just like any fast food place, there is the section for you to place your dirty dishes when you are done. So I cleaned the table myself even though I tipped these people. I will not return because tipping people to do their work for them is not for me.

A supermarket that doesn't carry plastic water bottles and proudly has a sign that they haven't been selling plastic still bottle since 2011 in efforts to be able to reduce plastic, is just something we need to see more of. Plus, everything's organic! The cool part is you can bring your huge jugs of water and refill them in the entrance with alkaline water.
