Not happy with this Stop & Shop. They evidently don't rotate their products on a timely fashion, I've gone home with short dates as well as expired goods a few times. Most of their Veggies & Fruits are average in quality, I recently purchased their green grapes, the ones already packaged in a plastic container only to throw them out after tasting them at home. Echoing the other folks here. Extremely hit or miss when it comes to service. Some folks are nice, some couldn't be bother to help you and are just hanging around. Place is huge so it's easy to get lost or hide if you want I guess. I haven't had the huge food quality issues some others have experienced, so there's that I guess. Latest issue I had is that they won't blow up outside balloons. I've never heard of such a thing from a grocery store; what the hell is the point of having a helium tank to begin with? With so many great grocery options within 15min, plus delivery, why come here? read more

I will never shop for choice cuts of meat here again! Granted the items that stop n shop did NOT butcher and pack are usually great. However the quality control on the more expensive steaks is horrendous the filet mignon was mostly sinew silver screen and veins. Sadly it's not the first time at all I'm just tired of wasting time and money now. Don't buy the expensive cuts here, I include the $25 tbone was also poor quality but this filet mignon is ridiculous terrible. Stick to milk and eggs, pasta and deli here. read more

I'm really fed up with bad produce, particularly spinach and salads. Yes, they will let you exchange it or refund double what you paid, but what a pain it is to drive back to the store just for this. Another problem is lack of stock for some items, ie spices and rice mixes and large size plain Greek yogurt. I often have to go to ShopRite to complete my shopping. Also there is one woman at Customer Service that is unfriendly with an attitude problem. The others are nice. Customer service hours are sketchy too. They aren't available early. Lastly, I was there yesterday, Friday, at 9:30am and I took what I thought was the newest weekly sales flyer , but alas when I got home I found it was last weeks. read more

I am a frequent shopper at Stop & Shop stores. We went here from out of town. When shopping for salads we noticed that bags left out were past expiration date by days. When we came home we found that multiple dairy products and items that contained milk also were past expiration or were going to expire within 48 hours. With the cost of food rising it's highly disappointed we wasted money in items that had to be thrown out. read more

This is the SECOND time this has happened. I understand that sometimes the produce molds on the inside but there has to be a way to rotate veggies when they've been sitting too long instead of putting them to the front. If I can do that with my fruits and veggies and know when they've been sitting too long, it should be possible for a store to do this. Mind you, I was in a rush, so I didn't inspect the outside until I got home ... there was a black patch on the back. This is DISGUSTING... there is a huge yellow maggot in there as well. I always use self check out so I don't get the same negative experience as some people. If you don't deal with a person it's kind of hard to have a truly negative experience. I recommend it to all the 1 star folk on supermarket reviews. So far my experience has been good. They've got pretty tasty deli and ready made edible things on the shelves. Really close to local hotels and parking's ample. Everything is organized and I haven't seen any damaged or old food. Fruit selection is alright, nothing exceptional but more organic produce would make this place shine for me. read more

They have a Redbox machine where you can get some movies and video games for cheap price. A People's United Bank, Full-service banking 7 days a week with extended hours: weekdays until 7:00 p.m., Saturdays until 4:00 p.m. and Sundays until 3:00 p.m. There is a Pharmacy so you can go there while you are shopping for food. read more

It's right up front and so sweet. This Stop and Shop has an attached Food & Liquor store. This is huge because if you're trying to throw an insane party that creates a wormhole into another universe, you need all the alcohol you can get. Load up on beer and snacks at the grocery store, then fly by the neighboring liquor store for the hard stuff. This Stop and Shop is so friggen big. You could have a full scale sporting event in the aisles. You could hit a 3 iron across the whole store and you'd still have room to spare on the green. My dream is to take my razor scooter and fly by these hallowed halls. It's beautiful, big, and oh so new. read more

Located behind the Sheraton Hotel, I think this tucked-away store is technically in the Town of Greenburgh, but the posted licenses in the store list 3 different cities with the address of 600, but since the Stop and Shop website says 610 and Tarrytown, I'll go with that. This is a pretty big market for NY standards. It carries a lot of different products for the different communities in the area and even has an aisle just for packaged organic foods and snacks (it's a short aisle, but if organic Heinz ketchup is what you want, it's there). Some products show up in different sections of the store, which can cause confusion. On my first visit, I saw a small small cheese selection stocked with generics and pre-shredded major brands. On my second visit, I found the island of gourmet cheeses at the opposite end of the store by the deli and produce. This store tries to cover all the bases with a small cafe, a Citibank, a bakery, and other small built-in businesses. The pet aisle is well-stocked and even has a small refrigerator for doggie ice cream. I visit this area often and have been getting tired of hopping on the freeway to go to Whole Foods and the other nearby markets have been lackluster. There is another Stop and Shop down the street, but it doesn't carry as many items as this one. There is plenty of parking, the store is LEED certified (energy efficient), there seems to be plenty of employees around if you need help, and is a welcome addition for both the locals and travelers (like me). read more

Yes, the place is big. It has a bank, bakery, and coffee. This store is fine UNLESS you are looking for organic food, especially produce. The organic produce is prepackaged in plastic wrap. First of all, the plastic wrap traps moisture, which makes the food go moldy. Second, since it's plastic wrapped, you can't inspect it thoroughly enough to actually see the mold until you unwrap it at home. On at least four occasions since we moved here in August (maybe 10 shopping trips) I've had to return food the next day because it was moldy. It's happened with sweet potatoes, peppers (more than once) and bread. My gosh, the bread is awful. I once spent a good five minutes in the bread aisle trying to find a loaf that WASN'T moldy. read more

What's a carless person to do when staying at the Westchester Marriott and he/she is in need of certain objects and desires lunch that won't break the bank? Walk over to the nearby Stop and Shop. This Stop and Shop is big and looks to be pretty new. I was about to pick up some sushi but then I spotted the $6.99/pound salad bar and proceeded to go town to the tune of nearly $15, yikes! Those salad bars add up fast. All the items looked very fresh, and there was a huge selection of options: several kinds of greens, hardboiled eggs, different cheeses, stuffed grape leaves, various beans, pasta salad, etc. As for the item I needed, the section was so minuscule that I couldn't find it on the first pass and had to ask an employee. He seemed somewhat listless, but at least he was able to show me the section I needed. My local grocery store has a large selection of this item so I was rather dismayed but at least one of the two remaining boxes was able to work for my purposes. At any rate, objectives accomplished. read more

This is a terribly managed store. They have a serious problem keeping their shelves stocked. The managers say that's its because of the pandemic, but that is BS. I can go to another chain such as ShopRite, Acme, etc and will find their shelves well stocked. I'm not talking about paper products, I'm talking about basic staples like pasta, rice, baking products and so on. There also seems to be a shortage of workers which does not seem to be a problem at the other chains. ShopRite has more than one person behind the fish counter and more people behind the deli. I think Stop &Shop is looking to cut on employee costs. Maybe the S & S bigs wigs should go to the other large chain local stores and learn a thing or two about how to run and manage a business. Stop & Shop "could" be a real asset to the community because of its proximity. There must be some sort of issue with the management of the inventory. The other local Stop & Shops aren't great either, but Tarrytown is the worst. It seems like they wait until they are out of everything before they order more. Is this just unique to Stop &Shop in general, the Tarrytown store or do they need different distributors? I prefer one stop shopping and have chosen to go elsewhere and travel further. This is one sorry chain. They switched from giving coupons to rewards points. Here's the issue: you have to redeem your points at least 15 minutes before you enter the store! If you do this and try to redeem the points it sometimes doesn't work. Once I was told by a manager that there was an error with their system so I couldn't redeem my points. This is a big waste of time as you can't; get rewards most of the time. Seems like a big corporate bait and switch. Keeping shelves stocked is still a problem, made worse by the pandemic? I now do most of my shopping elsewhere. Stop and Shop is a prime example of how to lose customers. read more

This place fills an immediate need for processed foods but thats about it. We have stayed at the hotel across the parking lot and have popped in to grab some snacks - its perfect for that! This last stay, we decided to do the grocery shopping Sunday before we left, and drive the groceries back with us to out place (one less errand to run after a little getaway!). It didnt make my life easier at all. The produce was limp and not attractive. I'll give you that it's winter so its not exactly the height of the season for anything, but cmon! The meats were completely picked over, and what was left looked like it needed to sell that day. The person at the register was decently helpful, but made little to no talk as I bagged my own groceries. She did swipe a guest loyalty card since i was form out of town to get me a discount, which was nice. read more

Grabbing all the fixings to make a tuna and onion sandwich and I kept finding deal after deal, not to mention the best deal on tuna and juice smoothies, had I forget I was taking the train. Needless to say thirty minutes later and four bags I make my way to the station, to amazement a movie playing at the local library so I stop in. Woot woot. Sometimes things just work out perfectly. This Stop and Shop location is I a strip road on Tarrytown road which is very hidden from plain site, I normally shop at fairway and shop rte but stop and shop usually has a nice selection of produce and meats but its not a high end grocery store like Whole foods or fairway. I was in town for 2 weeks on business. Having some bad issues with some local eateries I decided to try the deli food at Stop and Shop. I must say everything I got there was well worth the money and I wound up spending far less than eating out at these overpriced restaurants in the area. The salad bar had a good selection of everything. Yes, it adds up fast and if you really pack that container you're going to be spending over $12 for a salad easily but it's that way with the se grocery store salad bars regardless of where you're from. The fried chicken was some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Great crust with very moist, flavorful chicken inside. It was the highlight of the trip. Their deli potato salad (non mustard), was delicious. I also tried a deli sandwich one night, a roast beef. It was great. I also tried a pre-make salad. I don't remember the exact style but it had a blue cheese dressing. It was fantastic. The self checkout lanes are a little cumbersome. Otherwise though this was a great place to get food when staying in one of the local hotels on a lengthy stay. read more

The store is massive and everything is nicely spread out so that your shopping experience does not feel cluttered or claustrophobic. There are a handful of self-check-out counters, which are great, even if you accidently hit the "Spanish" speaking option at the beginning and the machine proceeds to shout Spanish orders at you. Tried to cash in bottles for the first time in years. Stopped in in the morning to find 4 of 6 machines were full; "specialist" that handles it not in for another hour. Stopped back 2 hours later. Found out the machines are set to only recycle bottles that are sold at the store. In the end I recycled 6 bottles that the machines would accept and threw the rest in the garbage. Way to support recycling efforts, Stop & Shop. I'll be sure to dump my empties in your trash bins from now on. read more

How can a supermarket not have one half gallon of fat free milk? When I asked someone if they had any half gallons of fat free milk, he checked in the back & said it was packed in the back & couldn't get to it. That's not all they didn't have today 7/9/18, no egg whites, no yoplait whips yogurt. These things are basics. This supermarket likes to sell their own brands so very hard to get another simple thing like egg lands best jumbo eggs or eggs whites. To top things off today they had an idiot at the checkout line who doesn't know not to put heavy items on top of fragile things like watermelon & other fruit. People at this supermarket are so rude they follow you its empty all the time and the food quality is bad and expensive. Just because you are african american you shouldnt be racial profiled in the store i spend allot of money there and its sad in america we still have to go through this. This store is huge, offers fresh produce most of the time, and has convenient hours. The employees are professional and friendly especially when using the self check out aisles. Try their bakery for a variety of artisan breads. They have natural and organic products on sale in some aisles. The Nature's Promise brand is Stop and Shop's cheaper alternative to better known brands. Why pay $5.99 for Organic milk when you can pay $4.49? I do find some of the offerings of fresh vegetables to be of inconsistent quality. Fruits are generally good. Again, come here for convenience and attentative staff. I do think supermarkets do not need to be opened at 6AM. I usually see 3-4 cars in the lot at that time. If you are a resident, sign up for the Stop and Shop affinity/ Fuel Rewards program. All your spending adds up to savings off gas from select Shell locations. I saved $.55 per gallon in my last fill up and paid only $2.31 for regular!!! read more

I don't normally post neg reviews but I felt this review would fall under a health concern. I am a frequent shopper of this store and have never had a problem previously. I purchased a precooked rotisserie chicken and after opening noticed the skin looked grayish rather than the brown I expected, I checked the cook date and It said it was cooked the day before, although not happy that I bought a day old chicken thinking it was cooked that day I tried it anyway. I immediately regretted swallowing that bite. That chicken was rotten, rancid, and unfit for consumption. Needless to say I threw up. I'm not sure where or how the standard for excellence slipped here but I'm grateful my child didn't also get to eat it. Ppl that were just arriving to place their fucking order were getn their deli order before mine were even done. I'm sorry how about you get to the orders that are 20-30 mins old thru the kiosk asshole.. Manager was called multiple times due to so many kiosk orders not being done. So you may ask why I waited 40 mins for it to be done well it was just 20 cuz I was done shopping and... Well I did it in spite... They can cut my shit and just use it for something else. This store is great! a decent selection of organic and natural products. The customer service is good and no complaints on the returns. I have one issue. I tried to cash a check on a busy day and after waiting on line for 20 mins I was told they don't do that anymore even though they have a sign saying they do. I wonder if it was just me because 7 months later and the "Check Cashing" sign is still hanging up in customer service its so irritating. Why is it still there? read more
