When we…read moremoved out through april/may we noticed there was mold on several of our boxes and belongings. I called the office and they said there is nothing they could do. They said it appeared there was Efflorescence occurring in the unit. (This happens when groundwater seeps through porous concrete and evaporates, leaving behind salts. This evaporation spikes the humidity in your unit, creating the perfect damp, stagnant conditions for mold to feed on your belongings.) I asked if they could reimburse anything off my last months rent because I moved out early. They would not. And they do not insure their units so I can't make a claim. Leaving this review because they need to be honest with their tenants. Had we known about the issue we would have stored our belongings accordingly and off the floors so they didnt get ruined!

Being able to have someone show me the space before I rented it was also a plus. Living in a world full of robots everywhere these days, it is such a pleasure to have a human being to deal with. The manager answers the phone(Eileen is fabulous!) and takes care of you in person no horrific remote call center! I personally like being able to drive up to my space, that is a plus for me as well, but they do have both inside and outside spaces. And the inside ones are very well lit and very safe. In any event, my experience here has been excellent. If one needs a packing/shipment box, like I did today, one can likely zip in and out plus the cost for boxes is competitive with box stores and Home Depot. I received excellent customer service this morning (from the fellow with the green painted fingernails-not judging). I rented a storage unit from HSCTO last year for 6 months. It was a truly seamless experience for me. My unit was clean unit, no one messed with my belongings and this place has easy access. Most importantly, I have received great customer service every time. All that I can say is that I believe that HSCTO is an excellent storage facility and would not hesitate to use it again.

I have an actual recording of her raising her voice and yelling at me for simply asking a question -- not arguing, not complaining, just asking a question. And it didn't stop there. My husband called the facility separately with a simple question of his own, and she yelled at him too. A customer calling to ask a question should never be met with that kind of response -- ever. This is not someone who should be managing a facility or interacting with customers. Her behavior is hostile, inappropriate, and frankly unacceptable. So I did what any reasonable person would do -- I contacted corporate and asked to speak with the district manager. I started calling in early December, once or twice a week, sometimes more. Customer service told me the district manager would return my call within 48 hours. It took him nearly three months. Eric finally called me back at the end of February, and after all that waiting, I was met with nothing but attitude and dismissiveness. Rather than listening or showing any empathy, he essentially told me to find somewhere else to store my belongings because of some late payments. What Eric apparently didn't stop to consider is that I have been dealing with serious health issues and have been in and out of the hospital -- not that a paying customer should ever have to justify that to be treated with basic respect. The lack of professionalism and compassion from someone in a district manager position was truly shocking. But the are raising my rent by $100. I've only been there for 3 months. They say it's because of inflation. This is a insane amount of increase. It's 1/3 of my rent already. I looked on my app and I don't see my lease agreement. I think it's TOTALLY unfair. I understand increase but 1/3 of my rent after 3 months is insane! Bad Business
