Abner was very responsive and straight forward but did not contact me again after initial quote until I decided to go with him. He garunteed pick up date and arrival date (and time and was 10 minutes early each time!) which was huge for us as our move had to be very scheduled and other companies quoted us a 2 week interval (or more!) of when our items would be delivered. His crew in Houston arrived and packed our entire apartment, included disassembling basic items. They were extremely professional and efficient. Every item even valuable and breakable items arrived in perfect condition. He met us in San Fransisco 5 days later and him and two others unloaded all our boxes and assembled any dissassembled items. Again very professional and efficient. Iron back movers turned what could have been a very stressful move into 0 stress. Abner was extremely hardworking, professional, and easy to work with as was every member of his team. We hope we can use him for any future moves even though we are no longer in Houston!

We scheduled the moving date, signed a contract, and were ready to go! On moving day, the movers arrived promptly and they were so quick in moving everything! within two hours everything had been moved out of our townhome! It took them another hour and a half to move everything to the new place. Very impressed! They also wrapped certain pieces of furniture for us and disassembled as well as assembled others. Cost was reasonable as well. I would say they are more cost efficient compared to other movers we had inquired. Overall we had a good experience with iron/back movers and would use them again for our next move!

In the end, it was Square Cow's overly confident answering service that convinced me to go with them. Big mistake. I hired them to move a large bedroom set from a second-floor bedroom to the garage--something I clearly communicated was not a simple task. I had over four phone calls, sent multiple photos, and explicitly discussed the risks and challenges involved. Each time, I was told everything was "in the notes" and the movers would be properly equipped with straps and the right tools. I even spoke directly with the operations manager the day before the move. He reassured me--again--that his crew would be fully prepared. He even advised me not to purchase additional insurance, claiming it was an easy job and not worth the extra cost. Then moving day arrived. The crew showed up completely unprepared. No straps. No proper equipment. Within minutes, they dropped the first piece of furniture, severely damaging it. The rest of the move was borderline reckless. The crew themselves admitted that Square Cow doesn't provide them with tools or care about their safety--or the customers' belongings. According to them, "Square Cow only cares about making money." After my experience, I believe it. I filed a damage claim, and now I'm stuck in their slow, unresponsive process that may take up to 90 days to maybe--maybe--get a fraction of what the damage is worth. Bottom line: they talk a good game on the phone, but they have zero follow-through. The left hand has no clue what the right is doing, and they clearly don't equip their crews to do the job safely or professionally. Their so-called claims department is a joke. Don't fall for the sales pitch. There are better, more honest companies out there. Square Cow Movers is not one of them.

Melvin called back at 2:46 and said "yeah our guys are just backed up right now and won't be able to get to you until some hours, can you take a priority move for tomorrow?". After I said I could not, Melvin stated he was going to reach out to his "sister company" to get additional assistance. At 2:52 Edward called and casually stated "This is Edward, we'll be there in an hour". At 4:31 I called Melvin back and asked him what was the update with the sister company. He stated "let me call them and see". He called back less than 2 minutes later and casually said "yea our guys had an emergency on the way to you nobody is going to be able to move you today." This company treated me as if I was the problem when I paid for a service they were not able to render. Melvin knew at 2:46 PM they were not going to provide services, yet kept me waiting hoping I would settle for a "priority move" Monday. They were not apologetic about inconveniencing me, letting me know they do not think they are replaceable.

Next they'll will break your furniture in front of you and tell you that the it was previously broken and they will document it. Movers showed up unprepared. We had wood floors which main guy saw when he toured our house before move. The movers showed up and said they had no moving floor protections. After one of the movers scratched the wood floor with his unprotected dolly, I told them to stop the move. All of a sudden, they went to their truck and found some floor protection. Really? Movers worked hard but they seemed they just wanted to get the job done and get their check. You can find many other better options. I'm still looking for some of the items that were supposed to be moved. Yelp disappointed me on this one.
