IT GETS WORSE! I went to my unit around 6:50pm to drop off a few boxes. I locked up at 6:59pm and walked straight to the elevator at 7:00pm -- only to end up STUCK for 15 minutes in 100-degree heat with my 8-year-old son. I pressed the emergency button, and thankfully the ladies who answered were kind and did their best to get us out remotely. But in the meantime, my son -- who is terrified of confined spaces -- had a full-blown anxiety attack. By the time we got out, we were drenched in sweat, overheated, and completely dehydrated. And then it gets even worse. This morning, I get a call from Jason at StoreLocal. No empathy, no "are you and your son okay?" -- instead, he jumps straight into interrogating me: "Our place closes at 7. Why did you enter at 6:50 and leave at 7:15?" Excuse me? After what we went through, the last thing I expected was to be treated like I did something wrong. I caught myself mid-explanation -- because honestly, I have every right to access my unit during business hours, and what I do there is none of his concern. What happened to this place? What happened to the staff that used to care? This was beyond unprofessional -- it was dangerous, traumatic for my son, and handled with zero compassion. read more

THEY BROKE INTO OUR UNIT AND CORPORATE IS SORRY TO HEAR THAT. I had not one bad thing to say about this place for three years, loved them and now.... 1 star. We came back to this same location after our three year stint in Vegas and less than a month in.. They broke into our unit. My husband called and they pretty much said so sorry so sad, If you don't like it, move out before the end of the month and we will refund you your $40. I guess it can happen anywhere to anyone but it happed to us at a facility that has had previous break ins and had done what appers to be NOT A GODDAMNTHING about it. read more

Been at this Facilities's over 10 years had to move out due to raising my rent every year, not working me Reached out to Sonia Facilities manager, asking her if she could work with me on lowering my rates she never replied to me about lowering my rate what happened to customer service or courtesy call to explain why. I would not move it to Facilities due to customer service and the way they treat their customers. read more

Someone BROKE into my unit and a dozen others, they stole practically everything!!!!!!! No one lives on site. I'm livid. The locking mechanisms are so easy to break. Its sick!! Their security is non existent, yet they have the nerve to increase the rent?? How about increasing the security?! What a joke!!!! Whomever broke into the unit had A LOT of time to go through all my stuff with a fine tooth comb, picking and choosing what to take. That will give you an idea just how secure this place is! If you want all your stuff stolen, this is the place for you! Might as well leave your stuff on a sidewalk, it will be just as secure as this place is. I suggest taking your stuff out ASAP! Heed my warning!!! Now I have to deal with filing a police report AND my insurance company. What a headache! I'm heart broken. read more

Wonderful and easy! Reserved a spot online, the next day went to do paperwork. They showed me the unit and I decided to see a different one which they were not upset or annoyed with at all! Everything was super easy and they were great with answering all my questions! The unit was a little dirty so I went to the office to ask to borrow a broom but one of the ladies insisted on going with me back to the unit and swept it out for me like they should have! The reason the company can't find my name is because the contract is under my SO name. To find out that two other units were broken into and had their lock changed to a company lock is highly suspicious. For the company to not notify customers of potential break ins, isn't justified. And will keep posting reviews. Just be aware if you plan on renting a unit here. Don't just talk to the office people. Their trained to say what they say, which is very little. I called and was told I could come in and look at a unit. They then gave me the office hours. The price was good and they had the size I needed. I get there and they have a sign outside saying "Running Errands be back at 4:00" We left and came back at 4:20 ready to get the unit. Only to find a new sign that read "Out to Lunch be back at 5pm. Who leaves to run errands to come back and then take lunch. I'm glad this happened, I went to Public Storage down the street got a better deal and a bigger unit. Plus 1 month free. This place was also dirty and when they had the 1st sign out that read "running errands" the side gate was left wide open. read more

During the time of getting ready for our home to go on the market, and not having rented a storage unit in 23 years, Teara Stewart made this the easiest part of the whole process. She has been knowledgeable in all aspects of giving me information about their units, despite the Covid issue. My husband and I were originally going to go with another company, then due to a call I made with a question and hearing someone ask about hours, I realized their great rates were due to only having 3 hours access a day during Covid! When I found Storage Direct, there were a lot more questions to ask, all of which Teara answered professionally and patiently. When we needed additional storage she remembered something I said and checked with me about a slightly larger unit than I was originally thinking we were going to get. Great customer service, we have had no problems getting into and out of our units. We appreciate the location as it has been easy to get to whether we had a rental moving truck or friends helping. Obviously certain days are busier than others, but the other tenants have been gracious if we needed a vehicle moved up a bit more and we have reciprocated. You can set up autopay so you don't have to worry about remembering the payments for storage and everything else you have going on. All of the documents (since you cannot sign in the office due to Covid) have been easily processed using my phone. We are so glad the first company did not work out! This has been the easiest part of our move thanks to Teara! read more

The $1 promo on Yelp is a bit misleading as they prorate the 1st month and you must pay in full on the 1st of the next month regardless of what date you move in...i.e. the promo is only good for what's left of the current month, so if you don't move in at the beginning of the month, you don't really get the full value of the promotion. read more

I have rented a storage unit with Storage Direct, for 4 years. The facility is clean and fair priced. The girls in the office and the owner communicate well and are always super friendly. I have rented three separate units and each was clean, swept, no bugs or yucky pests. As a single woman in and out at various times I have always felt safe and secure.
