Prices were decent but it seems to be they're rising prices too often, especially since there change of ownership. I had an issue with making a payment online so the next day I had to stop in to get it resolved because it would have been late and then extra fees would have added to my payment. I showed the error I was having to the worker and he also had the same issue so fortunately he waived my late fees and processed my payment. Apparently only one time the fees can be waived. Thankfully the issue was resolved. Nice staff.

If you value your property do not store your things at this facility…read more We learned the hard way that insurance does not cover damage done by mold or mildew to your property. We had all of our house hold items stored in two climate controlled units from an out of state move- when we noticed damage to many of our things after only two months. Climate control did not protect our property. The facility is filthy. There were bugs at the bottom of boxes we opened, holes in woolen sweaters, and jackets that had not been there before. There was mold growing on shirts, pants and the linings of boots and purses. There was mold and mildew in the interior of bureaus and side tables The stench was horrible. A new television armoire had stains on the back of it that had never been there before.There was even mold on our wooden cutting boards! We spent hundreds of dollars on dry cleaning, cleaning supplies, repairs and dozens of trips to the laundromat. Sometimes I would run a load 3-4 times to get the stench out. We threw out 1/2 of our clothes and books. We had to pay a junk removal service to dispose of the furniture, mattresses and other items that were damaged. We paid another mover to move our things to another storage facility. It took over 10 weeks to go through most of our items. When I brought these problems to management's attention the manager Javon said," how do I know you didn't bring this mold with you in the truck or from your old home?" I asked them for help with moving or disposing of items. John the district manger offered help at first and then reneged. I spent hours on the phone with my insurance company only to be denied. We found Guardian to be extremely negligent. On leaving the facility the last time I noticed a cockroach at the front door. That about sums up my experience of the place.

In Penn Hills, I always drive by the Defender Penn Hills location (Frankstown Rd) and it looks small but it really is a much larger facility. Very secure and appears clean. They have several size units to choose from. I went with the 10 X 10. Robert, the manager is friendly and thorough with the details of the rental. Also they are military friendly so it was indeed a pleasure to work with Robert. Good value, close to home location, expert service, clean and equipment available to move things into the unit.

The pins needed to hold up the shelves are missing. Isaiah told me they were in my old home office tape together in a ball. I went back there and found nothing anywhere I looked. Afraid to sleep on either bed that they reassembled. I removed the photos and changed the rating because Jerome from Moving ahead did an excellent job of correcting all our issues. I view the measure of a company not only on the original work but how they handle any issues that occur from the move. Moving Ahead Services did an excellent job correctly every issue we had. I recommend this business.

Moving ahead lied to me about my price for Moving. I received the estimate and when it was time for…read morethem to pack up my belongings they turned around and left me hanging and did not return. When the price went up, I said ok I am ready to go. They never returned my deposit or explanation of them leaving. Later on down the road I received a phone call from them wanting to negotiate for at least my deposit back. They did not give me my deposit back or apologize for their wrong actions in handling it. I would not recommend them at all, Do Not waste your time with these characters, they are a shady company move on to another company. DO JOT CONTACT ME WITH AN OFFER TO TAKE MY POST DOWN.
