I've been seeing a lot of posts about this place, so my husband and I decided to check out Stories Cafe in Whittier a few Sundays ago. It wasn't too busy, which was nice. The shop itself is clean, and the person taking our order was friendly and even gave us a few suggestions. My husband got the pistachio latte, and I ordered the matcha latte. Both drinks were over $8, which felt a bit pricey for what we got. Unfortunately, my matcha was too sweet for my taste, and overall the drinks didn't really stand out. With all the hype, I was expecting something a little more aesthetically pleasing or unique, but everything felt pretty basic. I love how the giant windows light the space up so well! I ordered a strawberry matcha and tried their banana pudding as well. The strawberry matcha was very smooth and not overly milky, but was a tad sweet for me. The banana pudding was really good, but I definitely had to split it into multiple snacking sessions since it gets too sweet. I would definitely come back and try their other drinks! read more

Seeing this coffee shop on different socials , I wanted to try it since it was not too far from where I live. I'm always looking for a new place to try out what they have to offer. Ordered the Nutella latte and the pistachio matcha both were ok. Shop was clean . Staff was friendly and accommodating. I didn't wait too long but the customers ahead seemed to have been there for a while. Totally understandable since this is a new place trying to get its footing . They have lots of good looking choices for desserts .The only issue I had was the portion of the Dubai chocolate tres leches cake. At a $9 price point I was expecting a little more of a serving.,it was less than a scoop. It tasted fine but definitely worth the $9 spent. Not sure I'd go back. At over $30 including gratuity for three items that were just ok, I honestly find it difficult to be motivated to return. I wish them the best. read more

Stopped by after watching a movie and decided to try two drinks and a Dubai chocolate tres leches. There were only two baristas and they were super friendly and helpful. Overall, everything was delicious! The strawberry matcha specifically was my favorite. The strawberry didn't taste like it was a cheap store bought syrup. The iced latte was good as well. Checked out this place this morning and it was perfect! Worker was super nice! The ambience was delightful. People were sitting inside and outside. We were able to find a seat near the window which my baby loves. I tried the matcha pistachio 4.5/5. I also tried the Dubai croissant which was delicious! Flavor in every bite. Wow, where do I start, where do I start? I went with my wife and we both ordered a Biscoff latte and two garnishes. One was a banana pudding, and it was so good; I was asking my wife to not touch the banana pudding so I could have it all to myself. Today, the next day, I ended up going back and getting another Biscoff latte. It's really good. The place is very clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and it was a nice environment. A nice tea shop with free wifi and some working spaces. It's new and clean. A few people were working or doing homework in the seating area. It feels very family friendly. Most non-coffee drinks are mixed power so I couldn't have the no sugar version I wanted. read more

I had Stories Café bookmarked for a while and realized it was literally right up the street when I was nearby -- yay! I love checking out new coffee spots whenever I'm in a different city, so I had to stop in. I got there just before 7pm and lucked out with the last chocolate chip Dubai cookie, homemade by the owner's wife. It was so good -- crispy on the edges, chewy in the middle, and had these little crunchy bits inside (kataifi) that made each bite extra fun. You can tell it was made from scratch. The staff were super nice and patient while I figured out what drink to get. They recommended the Coconut Matcha with oat milk, and I'm glad I listened -- creamy, smooth, and refreshing. Only downside? It kept me up till about 1:30 a.m. Totally worth it though! I'll definitely be back on a weekend morning to try a different drink -- and hopefully snag another one of those cookies. read more

Oh my gosh, I am SO glad I stumbled across this place. Not sure if they're new (seems they are?) but it is such a breath of fresh air from all the giant corp eateries in the area that I try to avoid like the plague. Came in yesterday and tried their pistachio latte, today I came in and did the pistachio matcha and oh my gosh, both so delicious. AND I can confidently say I almost never feel the caffeine from matcha like I want to, and this was one of the first matchas I've had in probably years that was delicious *and* effective. The ambiance inside is beautiful, clean, and I love the open concept. The staff (owners maybe?) are so friendly and helpful, and the food looks amazing. First time at this café, tried the baristas recommendation of a pistachio latte, the drink was good. I give it a three out of five a bit on the bitter side, not too sweet not too much flavor, mostly espresso and milk and. ALLOT of ice they offer a lot of middle eastern desserts like Dubai chocolate and also serve chai. I would have given a five star review because I love family own restaurants but I think the pricing is way over the top. 8 dollars base price for a small drink with no modifications. The staff here are sooooooo friendly, explained all the food items to us. We got the Spanish latte, dulce de leche latte, mozzarella sandwich, and the house sandwich, all of which were so delicious! And they gifted us a free rice pudding which was also so good! Plenty of free parking and a bathroom that doesn't need a code, which I really appreciate. read more

Lovely addition to the area, this coffee shop gets a lot of attention and is often quite busy. Awesome offerings, extensive coffee & non coffee options, a full pastry case--wonderful service & very clean space--very inviting. Let's talk about the pastries, majority are house made. Although a little pricy, the Baklava is truly wonderful and worth it. So far I've had the Baklava and the brookie. My go to order has been an iced strawberry latte and a brookie. I love this combination. The brookie is a generous size and is honestly so tasty. My only wish is that chairs outside were more comfortable, they aren't the most comfy and sink in quite a bit but overall this is a wonderful addition to the area they will continue to do well. read more

Absolutely loved this cafe. The girl that was working at the register was the friendliest and most helpful person. My experience was amazing from parking to service to the quality of the drink! Easy parking lot for this cafe. Going in there are so many delicious looking pastries and a few tables with available plugs. It's not a very big place so if you want to study you may have to just rely on luck for finding a spot but this doesn't make this place less desirable. There's still available WiFi and amazing drinks. Like I mentioned, very friendly and helpful staff recommended the best drinks and the drink itself was amazing. There is one restroom available. They recently just opened up I believe and I saw it trending on Tiktok/IG, so I decided to try it since it's right around the corner from where I live. It wasn't my cup of tea to say the least. I got the Stories Latte and it was too sweet and the lady that recommended it said it was pretty strong, but we definitely don't have the same definition of strong coffee. The latte was sweet, had too much milk, and it supposedly had a coffee cold foam but I couldn't even tell it had coffee. It tasted like instant coffee. The Orange Americano/tonic thing was pretty good! This drink I enjoyed! It's bright and refreshing, but the espresso was a little bitter. Could be the temperature of the water but I wish the coffee flavor was a little stronger without the bitterness. Overall it was pretty good. The strawberry matcha could use a little work. It tastes solely of strawberry and no hint of matcha. It's sweet and fresh but without the matcha flavor, it's just a cup of strawberry milk. There were a lot of bakery items available and I wish they still had their dubai chocolate croissant, because that's what I really went there for, but their chocolate croissant they had tastes just like Porto's! read more

Their prices are on the higher end for a cafe. My wife seemed to like the mango matcha, but $9 ($8+$1 with oat milk) for the drink was honestly not worth the price. The regular iced latte was okay ($6.50), but again, the price is more than other places with comparable taste/quality. Seemed to have a decent amount of customers, so people like the place. Have been back a few times and have recommended friends that have now have gone. The owner Mohammad is super nice and will take the time to answer questions and help recommend you something. The place is busy. Be patient they are moving as fast as they can. Actually as busy as they were the drinks come out fairly quickly.. not a lot of seating but, if you have a chance to grab a few seats you are lucky. I come to Stories Cafe at least twice a week and it never disappoints. My go-to order is their iced Biscoff latte it's honestly one of the best drinks I've had anywhere. I was so excited to see that a Lebanese coffee place has come to Whittier! It's a great location with plenty of parking. They are family owned and everything is fresh and made in house. All of the workers are very attentive and friendly. The inside of the cafe is very nice. Super clean and aesthetically pleasing. The tables have outlets on them so this is a great place to study. You really can't miss with anything on their menu. I believe that their coffee is from Yemen. We got a Biscoff latte which was really good. The coffee is strong and has a strong taste. It's not overly sweet either. The mango matcha was really fresh. It tastes like matcha mixed with mango lassi. I don't think they use syrups in their drinks. It tastes like fresh muddled fruit. They also have an extensive pastry selection. The Dubai chocolate tres leches and Biscoff cheesecake are great. They also sell normal Dubai chocolate bars. The prices here are very reasonable. Really enjoyed my time there - got a hot biscoff latte - kinda reminds me of an einspanner - perfect balance of coffee edge, warmth and richness. Also really loved the chatter going on - no, not distracting at all - just nice to hear people working together behind the counter, connecting with customers.
