This is one of my favourite study spot so far - not too busy with decent drinks. I think I still like the pistachio latte better. I tired the ocean breeze or something to that effect which is coconut water with coffee foam, sounds sus and it does taste strange but I really wanted the coconut water so it worked out after all, it wasn't the most enjoyable or amazing combination but I got to enjoy my coconut water. I was likely thirty which hey, likely is perfect for a hot summer day when you needed something thirsty quenching but also needed the dose of caffeine. read more

Visiting from out of town and tried all the coffee/breakfast sandwich locations in the Point Grey /West Kits locale. Long story short, our favorite coffee/breakfast spot is Storm City. Rather than microwaved fare, the breakfast sandwiches appeared to be more made-on-the-spot. We tried and loved the Brie/Apple croissant, the vege breakfast sandwich, and the Chicken Panini sandwiches. The coffee was very good, but most caffès make good espresso drinks now. The ambiance is wonderful if you enjoy large windows, sunlight, modern decor, and a generous patio with tables, chairs, sofa seating, and sofas. Service with a smile - can't go wrong with that these days. A great place to fuel up for the day. read more

I love how both the strawberry and matcha flavors come through distinctly, with neither overpowering the other. The balance is just right. I also tried their banana bread, which was perfectly moist with a slight crisp on the outside. It wasn't too sweet, and I appreciated that. Came by on Sunday morning. We were able to walk right up to the counter and place our order for a few coffees, oatmeal and avocado toast. On all fronts, this place was lovely. The oatmeal had fresh berries, bananas and nuts. The avocado toast was a nice portion and had yummy satisfying bread. Our coffee was tasty! The atmosphere was nice and clean. This is the coffee shop that I take all my friends to. I have lots and lots of good things to say about everything I've tried. The biscuit sandwiches are heavenly, the avo toasts are heavenly, the baked goods are heavenly, the drinks are heavenly. The biscuits are so rich and soft, but not heavy, and the sandwich fillings are fresh and interesting. I'm really into the pesto on the Mediterranean, which is more textured and less oily than most pestos, and the olive mayo on the Veggie is really interesting. The scones are the same baked goodness as the biscuit, and the cakes have a great moist crumb and vibrant flavour. Their menu is full of more uncommon flavours which is fun. They have the semi-elusive turmeric latte (also used to have beetroot, but unfortunately no more), and they'll do tea mistos and "traditional" matcha (matcha and water, no milk). There are more specialty drinks but these are what I most appreciate. I take off a star with some hesitation because some things are so expensive. Some of the sandwiches/toasts are $7-9 which is definitely reasonable, but then the more complicated things are $13.5, which seems like a lot. They're not small portions and they include a side salad if you eat in, but this still seems like it's pushing it. Some of the drinks are average pricing: 8oz mocha for $5.75, 8oz matcha latte for $6. It's easy to spend a good amount of money here without realizing it, although there's definitely an argument to be made that the quality is high and you get what you pay for. The inside is nice, there's a good amount of seating and nice lighting with all the windows. It's very minimalist. I like the dedicated no-laptop tables (laptops are allowed along the counter and long table in the middle). The patio, is fenced off and really nice. They recently revamped it though and added some couch seating and a swing, and while it's visually pleasing, the swing doesn't seem practical at all to me. It seems like you wouldn't actually want to drink anything on that, and it would be hard to eat too because there's nowhere to put your plate. I wish they'd used that space to put another table or lounge-type seating. Mostly the staff is very nice especially recently, and they're patient if you need some time to process all the options. The vibe in general seems to always be pretty positive here, even the other customers have been friendly. It's a good space whether you're looking to do work alone, chat with a friend, or just enjoy a quick meal. read more

First time here. Love this coffee shop. It was not too crowded here. The ambience was very comfortable that I could hear noisy but not too noisy. I love they sell cream puffs with different flavours. A barista recommended the vanilla and matcha cream puffs. I went with the matcha cream puff and it was so good!! They used real and strong matcha powder for the cream. The cream puff was not too sweet that the flavour was about right. I really enjoyed eating it. I also ordered a latte. It was very smooth and the coffee flavour was about right. I went to their washroom. It was really cool! It had a red sink! It was very unique that we don't usually see a red sink in a washroom. The coffee shop has good decor. They use black, white, grey colours with red as an accent. If I am in the neighbourhood again, I would love to go back and try other beverages and food here. One last thing I like about this coffee shop is that there is a long table in the centre. Whoever uses laptops at this coffee should sit at the long table. These people with laptops should save the tables for guests who really come here for a coffee and food. read more

So.. I pick my teenage daughter from her mom's place ..we go for a great sushi dinner but it was really quick and we got lotsa time to kill..so I suggest we go to Jericho. . She has a membership to the Vancouver Yacht Club.. she wants to show me the boat and the bunnies that are all over the place. Ok sure. But on the way I suggest that she checks out the ultra cream puff I've seen on Web pages ..links etc. So ..We roll in just at closing..there's just one cream puff left ---------------------------------------------- It's comes very nice to transport in an upside down coffee cup. We roll on.. I look over as we drive and ask her opinion. She has chiselled down the side of the creampuff exposing all the layers..she says.. "OMG Dad.. !! It's amazing! It starts with a perfect crumbly bottom..then there's an amazing layer of perfection of cheese cake berry flavoured stuff.. then it goes up to amazing whippy-creamy filling!" So I dunno but that's what she said and when this dad wanted to be a hero.. a creampuff and a coffee for myself was a perfect thing. read more

Funny how things change and that A-OK place turns out to be something more. Like a relationship that grows on ya. Maybe it's the location, or the fact that it's a nice place to group and recollect. Like the coffee shop near my place on the west side that is sadly gone. Whenever I'm on this side of Broadway and have time for a coffee or tea, I find my way here. I'm by no means a regular, but have found my way back on numerous occasions. They're making those subtle changes and that means something to me because they're positive changes in the right direction. I feel comfortable here. As a person who supports and is part of the LGBTQ2 community. I feel ok here and can be myself. You see, in a world that has become stymied and stigmatized with all that is Trump and how those narrow thoughts depressively seep through to our wonderful and thoughtful culture of conscience, intelligence, understanding, patience and compassion. This place has found me more oft than naught where I can relax, regain and compose. The cream puffs are to die for yes, that's a given. Best to get them on the weekday vs the weekend when they're made fresh. If you can get there when they're freshly made out of the oven and cooled just right so it doesn't melt the cream filling, than you might have found your new haven too. I can't wait for more changes to come, because change is always good. read more

Tried the green tea cream puff with an Americano. The cream puff was not too sweet and a nice small dessert. I enjoyed this but truthfully, the green tea cream puffs from beard papa are bolder in flavour and the Beta5 ones are more substantial and filling. Overall, the cream puff just lacked that "wow" factor for me. Coffee: They use jjbean espresso (eastside) beans which is strong and dark in flavour. Staff were extremely friendly and courteous. I've blackmailed people (in a fun way) with photos as they were eating the cream puffs. Wild eyes of pleasure with cream frothing from the mouth as they desperately try to imbibe every last filling. They're that good. One thing I've noticed is the level of care - everything is handmade, and made well. They have a great vegan selection that doesn't taste too vegan. They're always experimenting with new food and beverages. There's a good vibe with the people who are responsive, unlike some drone workers at Starbucks. As a bit of a rebel myself, it's lovely finding great coffee shops not under corporate standardization. read more

My partner and I ended up here after our usual brunch spot had a long line we weren't willing to wait in. We were pleasantly surprised to see that there were several brunch options on the menu in addition to the typical coffee and pastry cafe offerings. He got the avocado toast and I got the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich, and both were equally tasty and very flavourful. The highlight of the experience was the bread - the avocado toast was made on a delicious, fluffy focaccia slab, and the breakfast sandwich came on an oversized buttery biscuit. Vancouver in general seems to have a biscuit problem where they're usually kind of bad, and so this was one of the best biscuits I've had in the city. I did find this to be somewhat overpriced for a cafe where you order at the counter and pick up your own food; at $30 before tip for avocado toast and a breakfast sandwich (with no drinks) this was definitely closer to upscale sit-down restaurant prices. Even so, the quality and flavours were impressive, so don't let the price be a dealbreaker if you can afford to splurge on breakfast! read more

Came here one morning after walking by. I had seen other reviews on yelp that had cream puffs so I came to check it out. Got in at 8:30 but they were not ready making them yet. The cashier told me that he'll ask them to make mine first - so I ordered a coffee, a latte, a blueberry cheesecake cream puff and a breakfast sandwich. Coffee, latte, and sandwich came out first and I waited 10+ mins for the cream puff to be ready. The breakfast sandwich was really greasy with oil running down your hand. Cream puff filling was good, not too dense or heavy, but the puff itself seemed a bit stale. Be careful sitting by the window, on sunny days, it gets really hot. Came here with my bf on a Sunday afternoon. Cafe was very clean and modern. I really liked their back drop background on the side of their wall. My bf and I wanted to share their 34 oz french press coffee but they ran out of their special coffee beans so we were disappointed that we couldn't order it :[ I ended up ordering just their drip coffee which I thought was kinda pricey ($2.60) because there was only one size only and there was no selection on what type of flavor you want. At other cafe shops that I been to, they would price their drip coffees a bit more but they would have a range of choices to choose from or they would have just basic drip coffee but charge you less. Therefore, I thought it was odd that this cafe only had one size and one type for over $2. My bf on the other hand had their ice mocha with soy milk which actually tasted really good. It wasn't too sweet because they would actually use chocolate ganache instead of chocolate sauce which added a nice taste to it. For a nice treat, my bf and I shared their black sesame cream puffs which wasn't expensive at all ($4.50) and it was quite big. As we got to it, we were disappointed because the dough was quite chewy and the cream filling was way too soft that it didn't hold up its form. Also, we could barely taste any black sesame in it which was odd because black sesame has such a strong flavor. Overall, I am not sure if I would go back here but if my bf wants to come back for their french press then I would give it a try but I wouldn't order their cream puffs. read more

Love, love, love this place! I stopped by looking for a nice place to grab a coffee and charge my phone, and it completely exceeded all expectations I had. The staff were friendly and make dang good espresso! I got a mocha latte with soy milk and it was hands down the best mocha I've ever had. The dairy-free milk options were great! Wish they had more vegan/dairy-free food options though (the only reason this review isn't 5 stars). The seating area is really nice (the mural on the wall is gorgeous as well) and the plethora of outlets is fantastic! Went in for a sandwich and some dessert. Had the veggie sandwich and a cream puff. Wow!! So good. The sandwich is made on a biscuit, thats made in house, onions that are pickled in house, with a healthy serving of cheese and topped with fresh greens. Ordered the green tea creme puff to wash it all down. This did not disappoint. Not too sweet, just sweet enough. Great all around experience. I came here as I was in the area on a job site. I believe that this used to be different coffee shop under a different name, therefore, the interior looks the same. Either way it was a large enough coffee shop with lots of space that I decided to have break time here. I worked on my comic con costume at this coffee shop and had a very good latte. I had some of their rolls as well on the side. I over stayed my welcome 'cause of my project, however, it wasn't busy and they were more than friendly about it. Time flew by when you're being creative. It was my first time trying potato cake which tasted like a regular cake made with potato but it was a cool food Instagram photo. I live in one of the buildings next door and was really excited about having a coffee shop nearby. The coffee is great and the scone I tried once was great as well - but I have one major issue. Please get new to-go cups! Every time I've grabbed a coffee to-go, the lip of the cup unravels when I try to put on a lid and create a drippy mess. Coffee will seep through the lining of the cup as well and they are very flimsy. This makes me wary to ever get coffee to go from here again, because it's been three times now that I've found up with coffee stains on my clothes and a drippy mess of a cup. read more

Great latte. Nice service. Nice, open bright decor. However, disabled access is poor. Doors are narrow, and no wheelchair button to open door. Also, while waiting for my coffee, I saw an employee walk to the baking area (visible from cafe), and put her plastic shopping bags right onto the baking counter. And then, even worse, without washing her hands, she picked up a bowl of flour from the counter and ran her hands through it!
