We chose this spot for lunch today over two other options but unfortunately it was a let down. The blackberry lemonade was a complete miss--flat, watery and no lemon flavor. I passed it to my cousin but it wasn't any better for her. The fresh chicken sandwich was passable, but raw onions were a bit overpowering for me. My strong mints couldn't even get rid of the aftertaste for a couple of hours. The dining area was pleasant and spacious. The service though was missing warmth and absent of any hospitality. I like the lighting of this place. It was clean when I came in. It was quiet eventhough there were a number of people sitting. Its a good place to study or read and there's wifi. I tried the Signature hot chocolate with whip cream and it was good especially in a cold day like today. They serve other coffee based drinks, pastries, wraps and sandwiches. Chairs are comfortable. There's lots of ample paid and free parking at the back streets. There's plenty of shops and restaurants along the street when you step out. There were red flags, but I chose to ignore them. Bad mistake. When we arrived, there was a line right to the door. It took about 10 minutes before we got to the front of the line. Red flag #1. There were three tables available, all of them dirty. Red flag #2. We took the table that was the least dirty, but that's like saying he's the nicest guy in prison. We tried to order the "Two Rivers Pepperoni Pizza Bagel" for our daughter, and the "Pepperoni & Italian Sausage Breakfast Wrap" for myself. The cashier just stared at my wife like she had a third eye. The cashier had never heard of these items, and had to call a co-worker over for help. Red flag #3. My wife showed them the Caffe Artigiano online menu on her phone. The cashier grabs the phone out of my wife's hand without asking to have a closer look. Seriously? You don't just grab someone's personal belongings without at least asking, especially with COVID, am I right? Red flag #4. We were seated, and one-by-one, we were called up to pick up our orders as they were being fulfilled. First, the croissant and "Ham & Cheese Breakfast Wrap" in lieu of the "Two Rivers Pepperoni Pizza Bagel" and "Pepperoni & Italian Sausage Breakfast Wrap" which they didn't carry, despite being featured on the on-line menu. My wife had to go back up to ask for a Cranberry Oatmeal cookie which was missing. Then, when she was called up to pick up her "Truffle Mushroom Breakfast Wrap", she was offered the Oatmeal cookie which she already got. It didn't seem like the restaurant had an efficient system of fulfilling orders. Seated, and already eating our food, one of the cashiers made a B-line to our table and accused us of taking a Truffle Mushroom Breakfast Wrap that we had not paid for. Red flag #5. Not only had we paid for it, but her co-worker had called us up by name to pick it up. The cashier went back to the counter to try to figure out the mess. My wife went up to three of the staff huddled around the cash register to tell them that it was rude for them to accuse her of stealing food. They did not even make eye contact or offer any acknowledgement or apology. The three staff sheepishly just went about their business, as if my wife was invisible. So, my take-away from my first and last visit to Caffe Artigiano: 1. Very slow service. 2. Messy. 3. Poorly maintained and outdated corporate website. 4. Staff have bad manners. 5. Very poor customer service. They accuse people for their mistake(s). By the way, the food was okay, but not worth the treatment we got. read more

Looks like the number of coffee shops in Kerrisdale has simply exploded over the years. Parking is available behind the building (a few spots), as well as on the side streets and in the secret hidden (city owned?) Kerrisdale public lot underneath that condo tower. The interior is fairly modern but does look dated. There is a large main area where the counter is, as well as a secret hidden small area with maybe 4 tables near the back. There are also some tables outside in front. The iced latte I had was pretty decent. Pricing is in line with the likes of Starbucks. They've done away with straws, so the lid now has a sippy cup spout. Supposedly the containers are compostable too. The washrooms smelled rather awful, like sewage. Needs an air freshener. read more

This is a coffee shop I visited frequently before trying to broaden my coffee horizons. Location is super convenient with some free parking in the rear plus ample street paid parking in Kerrisdale. I must say there has been a big improvement in the quantity and variety of baked goods in the last couple of years. Now the muffins, scones and loaves are moist and tasty. Their savoury selection is ok considering this is a coffee shop. There is seating inside, front and back plus a small rear exterior patio and a couple of tables on 41st. The decor was updated a few years ago, it has a warm vibe, small round tables, with both bench and cozy individual chairs. Service staff is attentive and the coffee bar drinks come up fairly quickly. Of the probably 60 times I've been there for take out or dine in, maybe only a couple of times the coffee hasn't been great. Condiments are self serve, with cinnamon and cocoa sprinkles (that is a big plus in my book). Overall a good location for coffee and a small snack. My rating is 4.5 read more

I've been in Vancouver a few days now and I'm telling you I've only had 1 good cup of coffee since being here and that was at JJ bean in Granville island and now FINALLY another at this place. The almond milk they used to make my cappuccino was a little sweet but it was fine none the less most would probably prefer it that way. Met up at this little neighbourhood coffee boutique with 2 friends on a fine Sunday afternoon. Not much of a coffee buff so decided to try their seasonal festive "Egg Nog Latte." Took my first sip and did not taste any Eggnog at all, continued with two more sips and still did not find what my palate was expecting. Brought this to the attention to the barista and she made me a new one with the same result. Ambiance is like your usual coffee shop with a little more available seating. Staff were friendly and attentive to customer service. There is plenty of paid street parking and free underground parking one block away courtesy of the City of Vancouver and the Kerrisdale Business Community. read more

Caffe Artigiano is a staple coffee shop in Kerrisdale, with a newly renovated interior that is great for doing work, although it can get noisy at times. The condiment bar was very nice and filled with many options for milk & sugar. Sausage breakfast wrap was filling and tasty, but just a little too salty for my taste. read more

I like Caffe Artigiano more than Starbucks and Bean Brothers but I'd give this location 3.5 stars. Reason is because this location closes too early (5:30pm on a Saturday), not as well maintained as other locations and the coffee isn't the same as previous. It has good patio and they make my americano just the way I like it. The bench seating along the wall is good but can be cramped at times. I am 6' tall so that could be it too. The workers are friendly and I don't leave smelling like roasted coffee, like some other places I go to. Kerrisdale isn't as busy as other areas however to close at 5:30pm on a Saturday isn't right. Starbucks and Bean Brothers closes a lot later and those locations are usually busy so it would make sense for Caffe Artigiano to close later too. Also you would think being in Kerrisdale, it would be well maintained. Sometimes the garbage bins inside are full and there is coffee stain on the bench. Something else I wish they had was free wifi, or even wifi in general. Almost every other coffee shop offers wifi, even independent shops but guess they don't want you to sit too long. If they had wifi and opened later, I'd give more stars for this location. Still I like this place. read more

Hmmm... Looks like management had been letting this particular branch of Artigiano slip. And you would figure that because its in Kerrisdale it's probably a lot more maintained and nice, but it's not! I've reviewed other Artigianos before with glowing reviews, I'm no hater. I was really disappointed. My usual location is in West Van/Downtown but sometimes I'll venture to the Burnaby location and other locations since I'm a pretty big fan. I've always admired how they keep their shops really clean, tidy and cozy. It just didn't happen here... it was messy, garbage all over the floor, garbage cans were full to the point of blowing up, coffee stained pretty much all the furniture. Either they had a whole crew of newbies working here or something went wrong, but even the coffee was off. My regular - caramel macchiato - was messed up. Forgot the caramel, when I asked he said it was there when CLEARLY I watched the barista make it and NOT touch the caramel bottle. Terrible. I wanted to go and dig up the tip I left them. I'll just head to Starbucks when in Kerrisdale. read more

Terrible service. I was watching the cashier (assistant manager) make several ordering mistakes. When people asked to have the issue fixed she flatly refused and told the customer's that they were wrong. Laughable customer service. I left after waiting and watching this happen to 2 people. Many other cafes in the neighborhood without having to deal with this level of service. read more

The coffee just doesn't seem quite as flavorful as it used to be -- and I don't think it has to do with aging tastebuds or my over-caffeinated palette. I'm not saying my Americano wasn't strong enough; it just lacked the lip-smacking tastiness that always made Artigiano my first coffee stop whenever I'm back in town. Some other features (or the lack thereof) have also begun to annoy me: (1) when seated against the walls, the tables seem too high; (2) there's no wifi; and (3) the place closes too early for a city that loves to drink coffee at all hours. read more

BG favorite for... Americano I like this location because it doesn't get as busy as the downtown locations. Located in Kerrisdale, it can get somewhat busy on the weekends, but usually, it's not too busy and not too empty. There's free parking in the back, but usually it's full, but not to worry, there's a huge Kerrisdale free 2 hour parking lot located on the other side of the alley. i'm not a coffee connoisseur, and I'm not one to say that this Artigiano is better than another. But, 1. I know this company uses locally roasted beans from 49th Parallel 2. The general manager travels nationally and internationally to compete in barista competitions. 3. Every time I'm not satisfied, they would remake my coffee (it's happened twice in the 5 years I've been going there) These guys are serious about their coffee, while providing a very warm and inviting environment to relax in, and the only reason why I'd go to the Starbucks across the road is because they close at 6-7pm usually. read more

OK, Today I went in for a cappuccino after most of the long renovation was done. Terribly disappointed about the new decor. It appears that either a designer was not consulted or a bad/rookie one was used. The former Caffe was renowned for its character and charm, now all this is gone and replaced with a bland combination of the neighboring Caffe Honolulu and Faubourg decor. The new design has no theme, the walls are painted in a bland beige and the floor has the same color. Any designer knows it has to be some contrast between those elements otherwise the space is not properly defined. The beige walls facing the street and the oversized door on the right of the entrance painted in a slightly darker beige, are very impersonal. Sugestions: cover the oversized door with a nice antique stained glass that will give tons of character to the place. Use a nice, darker shade of beige mold around the ceiling, paint he wall facing the street in a vibrant, rich red colour with a golden border (anywhere), add few wrought iron wall decorations to enhance the character and to make a nice contrast with the beige walls. The front outdoor wall repaint in the original yellow as this was a standout combination along with the red of the patio canopy. Canopy color is a boring burgundy (does not stand out from other similar around town) change it to a vibrant red with a golden motif. On a good note: furniture looks great, same the floor. Today former customers were coming out disappointed on how the place turned out, "too light", " no character", " sandwiches are not the same" Competition from the two mentioned Caffes is tough but if the decor is stunning people will line up at Artigiano. The owners of these two Caffes were smart enough to use amazing designers and the results are visible in the crowds coming in. I hope this helps ! read more

Honestly, was a little unimpressed with this experience. I walked in to a very loud lunch time crowd and general confusion. I waited only a few brief minutes in line and selected a sandwich that seemed about right for my craving. The man at cash was pleasant but gave me no instruction as to where I should wait for my takeout lunch. While waiting was was addressed by a few staff looking to see that I had been helped and for that I was appreciative and impressed. Several people who had come in after me got their food first and left while my sandwich - which was pre-made- took almost 10 minutes to toast. When the young lady saw that my cheese hadn't fully melted, she put the sandwich in the microwave which turned the bread into a mushy mess. I can't imagine studying here due to the volume though some people were giving it a try. I will give it a try again at a quieter hour to see if the general experience can improve. read more

After waiting forever, Caffe Artigiano reopened in Kerrisdale without much fanfare. I was expecting a super fancy reno job because it took so long. Well, the place now looks like a generic coffee shop. It has lost its signature style and character. So onto the most important thing, coffee! Still the same as before. I can always count on their latte to keep me wide awake for an all nighter. Next, the baked goods. Sadly, there has been no improvements here. You still get the same old stale muffins and biscotti. Worst still, there is less food selection now. They did try to up their game with some "organic" and vegan options but I never knew I needed organic jelly beans! I will swing by for their latte when I need a boost but don't think I will visit often anymore :( read more

I'm a big fan of coffee and was introduced to Cafe Artigiano many years back by one of my best friends. Every time I'm in the neighbourhood, a stop at cafe Artigiano is a must. In cold weather, I get the Spanish latte (a latte with condensed milk!). On hot summer days, make that an ICED Spanish latte! I can't say enough good things about the quality of their coffees, and they are always busy even though there are so many other coffee shops in the area, including a Starbucks just across the street. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing afternoon, grab a book and head to Cafe Artigiano in Kerrisdale! You won't be diasppointed! read more

Best coffee. Leagues above starbucks and Bean Brothers in my (limited) experience. The only thing starbucks does better is that they have lower calorie (sugar free flavor syrup) options. The staff are extremely rude here. My grandfather was trying to go to the washroom and kindly asked a staff member if they had a handicap washroom which she replied rudely and condesendingly, 'well, its a big room' and did not ask if he needed assistance opening or finding the door to the washroom. I will not recommend this cafe to anyone in Vancouver or in Europe who choose to visit Vancouver because of the inhospitable service. Starbucks has better coffee. read more

Barista recommended a Spanish latte -- I don't know much about coffee but ended up really enjoying the drink. So much so that I was craving another one the entire next day. I believe a Spanish latte has condensed milk and some spices in it? Mine was decaf iced and not too sweet. Will def be back to try again. The latte's here are very good, as are the blueberry oatmeal muffins. I have been impressed with the consistently good coffee at all of the Artigiano locations other than in Victoria, where more training is needed. I recommend that you order a latte in their traditional size cup (6 or 8oz, I'm not sure) rather than in the small (12oz), because the coffee gets lost in all of that milk. read more

Went here for afternoon break with Dad. His tea was do weak, even after about 10 minutes of steeping was still light light brown tea flavoured water. Took back to barista and asked to switch for cup of coffee. After charging me for that gave a half cup of stale coffee and when i asked for full cup he said he'd have to brew more. At no point did he say he'd bring us fresh coffee. Just sent us away. So after paying for a pot of tea AND a cup of coffee, both of which were undrinkable we left. Not ever returning. This is counter service only, with all food prepared in take out containers. We ordered a southwest chicken salad and a black bean, chick pea and corn cup with red pepper and cilantro. Both came with small cups of salad dressing. I asked if the dressings were gluten free and was told they didn't know. I asked to see the original container and was told they didn't have it. Mine was labelled vinaigrette, so I decided to take a chance. When I opened the container, it was a thick 1000 island colour. Definitely not vinaigrette! The only thing I would change is that their large size coffee is only the normal size of a medium coffee elsewhere. For the cost of what you pay for a medium it should be a bigger size. read more

Not sure whats missing here. Every time I see pictures of their coffee it makes my mouth water and want to run in and grab a coffee. I went there twice and each time I ordered a Mocha and a Latte. They both tasted very strong for me and I don't know if it is just my tastebuds or what but it tasted like alcohol and it totally was not what I imagined the coffee to taste like. It's not exactly lively, vibrant and friendly as the one on W.Pender/Thurlow (across from Starbucks) location. If you're going to order chai latte at this location, make sure you request the latte to be more spicey. Past few visits, I received nothing but bland taste from my chai latte. It was like drinking warm baby formula milk. Seriously, don't cheap out on the good stuff when the caffe is well known to serve the best. read more

I come here regularly whenever I'm in town. Great nooks to study if you can grab a table fast enough; this place has more electrical outlets than its neighbors Starbucks and Bean Bros. put together. Their cappuccino is both aesthetically and tastefully the BEST - who doesn't love the artistic milk swirls on top? For their frap options, the white chocolate mocha is a little too sweet, but worth trying out. The outdoor patio in the back is great for studying, reading the newspaper, or catching up with a friend. Dog-friendly (has water dishes) and warm during the fall (heat lamps). Of all the coffee places in Kerrisdale, "Artig" is my top pick! read more
