I am not usually one to complain, let alone leave reviews, especially negative ones but the experience I had this weekend keeps bugging me - so here I am. We walked in and waited a few minutes to be seated. Seemed as though they were short staffed which I understand. There were 7 of us and we were stuck in a booth where I was smashed in a corner with the condiment tray blocking any table space. I apologetically asked the server if we could be put at an open table at the front. We grabbed our waters and walked over and sat down at the new table and that is the last we saw of the staff (other than watching them help everyone else seated after us). One server made eye contact with my mom about 5 minutes in said she would be right there.. We waited about 25 minutes until we just got up and left. I have been a server so I respect the job and I am a pretty patient person, but the lack of service and the proud look on the servers faces as we walked out the door was pretty disrespectful. read more

Well spent the week in Chelan and ended up at this place twice. The cider the served was some of the best I have ever had. The beer was cold and good. The home made fresh pretzels my sisters-in-law had she said was the best she has ever had. The sandwiches we had over the two days were fed good. I literally could've made this salad myself, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, corn, beans (basically ingredients out of a can) and chicken was extra... for $12 I would at least expect avocado or guac. Also I'm pretty certain that the chicken was pre packaged, tasted like deli chicken you'd buy at Safeway. The tacos were also fine, but nothing to get excited about. Came in for Spring Break and happened to hear this place is kid friendly and has trivia. Score! My friend and I brought our kids in for a night of trivia and drinks with the kids and had a great time. They have a pretty diverse tap list. I enjoyed a local Rosè while my friend had a great cider from Steelhead, across the street. Both were great! She also ordered the queso and chips. The queso wasn't gluten free but the pico was bomb. Horrible experience. Everyone in my large party got there food but me. I was told for 40 minutes after the food arrived that my nachos would come out any minute and I never received them. Stormy Mountain is a great "sports bar" type place with casual dining and an extensive beer menu, which they change up often. The food menu is a bit limited and they periodically add specials. The stormy mountain tacos are their specialty and they are outstanding as is Mac & Cheese. Their smoked meats are delish! They have trivia Wednesdays as well as game nights. They are open every day of the week all year -- even during the winter which is a plus in Chelan (many restaurants in the area open only weekends in the winter and very few open for lunch). On occasion, we've encountered slow service and tables not being cleaned promptly. This is likely due to staff shortages which is a common challenge in the area. Other than that, would highly recommend Stormy Mountain. read more

This is a cool little place on the main strip in downtown Chelan. Me and my friends went in for some dinner and a few beers. The service was good and the beer was damn good. I had the beer flight, which gave me four samples of their house brews. They were all very good, and I enjoyed all of them. They all had very distinct and delicious flavors. I had beer queso and chips. The queso was really good but the chips were hard and kinda gross. They need to invest in some decent chips or make their own. The pico de gallo that came with the plate was tasteless and I barely touched it. The plate was pretty pricey for what you get. My friends liked their panini wrap and sliders though. I would definitely stop by here for the beer again and try something else to eat. read more

My wife and I are riding a three state two province bicycle tour and stopped for a night in Lake Chelan for a night We enjoyed an incredible barbecue meal here. Being new to this property we split the barbecue sampler platter it was very good~~ we had a double portion of pulled pork portion of brisket portion of chicken breasts all three were good as were wine and apple cider that we had. If I could give this establishment a 0 I would, two years in a row, they didn't have enough staff to accommodate a group of 16, even though we just wanted a few pitchers of cider and some pretzels. Basically was told that the college help no longer is working, and even though they had the seating for our group, they refused to serve us. Extremely disappointing that in early August they would not want to earn revenue and keep this beautiful town booming. We arrived in town on Monday and were famished and, as luck would have it, we stumbled in to this brewery/restaurant mid-day for a late lunch. What a lucky break for us, as Mondays here are all-day happy hour days, complete with $2 tacos and $4 house brews. All day! We all had tacos, of course! Our kid and I had the grilled chicken taco and the roasted veggie taco, and hubby had 5 chicken tacos (yes, five! And all the same! He's nothing if not a creature of habit!). Various taco sauces were on the table (5 or 6 different kinds, ranging from mild to "stormy" hot). I had my tacos plain but hubby and the kid were mad for the Stormy BBQ sauce (they said it was mild but had a "kick"). The chicken tacos were truly delicious: super fresh and perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Hubby had a few beers, brewed on site. He said they were incredible and would order them again. In fact, he wanted to return for dinner later that night but I said no, wanting to explore other restaurants. But if our trip to Lake Chelan was going to be longer, for sure I'd go back. Other notes: I saw advertised that Mondays they have "family friendly" trivia night from 5:30-7pm, and they also show kid-friendly movies in a movie room there. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because there was only one waitress serving the entire restaurant and, as a result, service was a little slow and spotty. I'm not sure if they were understaffed that day or what the circumstances were, or if this was the norm, but this place could have used another waiter/waitress, for sure. (Granted, the waitress was super nice. She just needed assistance on the day we were there). read more

It's ok, nothing to write home about. None of the beers that were on tap when I was there were brewed in Chelan but in Odessa, about 40 miles or so east in the middle of the Columbia plateau. Didn't try the BBQ but it smelled decent. The place was very busy also and only two staff members to wait tables, pour beers etc. so things took a while to make happen. Nothing real to complain about but may be another example of some folks trying to join the hop train that is the craft beer revolution. I doubt this places makes it 3 years to be honest. I hope they do but should actually brew some beer in Chelan in sight of Stormy Mountain. Just my 2 cents. read more
