This place is in a great location (if you like Branson) and is charming as all get out. We were there during the hottest week in human history (ok maybe not exactly) and our AIR CONDITIONER WASNT WORKING. So, thus three stars were born. The water park and bungalows are top notch. The fitness center, restaurant, and coffee bar are subpar (pricey, limited). It's also a big resort, so bring your walking shoes or memorize the number of the golf cart shuttle! There's always something new to see thanks to the expanse of the property, and I felt like they really did try to accommodate us in a "heated" situation. read more

SO DISAPPOINTED in how bad Stormy Point has become. Hard to get thru to on a phone call but friendly desk staff once I arrived. Family illness and persons that were going to go couldn't and they would NOT work with us on changing to another date, regardless that there were numerous empty units during the 3 days I ended up going. 1. CHECK YOUR AIR FILTER ON THE FIRST DAY. The one in our cottage looked like it hadn't been changed in 2 years. NO wonder we woke up sick every morning. 2. WASH YOUR FEET BEFORE GOING TO BED, even if you took a shower earlier. The floors were SO dirty it was ridiculous. I even had to wipe down the table and chairs and counters before we put anything on them. NASTY. 3. PLAYGROUND doesn't open until 10 am. I wanted to let the little one run off some energy before checkout but that was NOT a possibility. I understand the pool not having "lifeguards" until then but a playground??? 4. WATCH OUT FOR SKUNKS. I was sitting on the back "porch" around 7:30 one am and had a skunk walk by not 2' off the deck. When I called maintenance, they informed they they can't control wildlife and they have all kinds of animals on the property. MAYBE THEY COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING DURING CHECK-IN? Thankful it was me out there and not the little one as she would have tried petting it and gotten sprayed for sure. 5. WATCH YOUR BILL AT THE RESTAURANT - specials timed out before we paid our bill and were charged full price. Went back and they did adjust. 6. STAFF NOT INFORMED of events prior to a couple hours before they happen. 7. After talking with numerous employees, it became quite clear to me that Stormy Point is now all about quantity, NOT quality. When a salesman can make 6 digit income, why would they want to take care of the owners that CV inherited in their takeover? The family staying in the cottage next door to me said she paid $1200 for the week. Sure felt sorry for them. 8. Thankfully I was not asked to attend a presentation, from what I saw and heard I did not need to be badgered about buying more time at what used to be a very nice resort. read more

Stormy Point Village is a great resort you get to stay I cottage during you stay it's like your home away from you home. The houses are great and setup up perfectly 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms with the master bathroom has a shower and a spa tub. The living room and kitchen setup perfect for a week with the family or just a couple. Recommend others to come here and being in Branson Missouri many things to do. read more

This place completely misrepresented themselves online in regards to the accommodation I booked. the online ads showed a beautiful property with a bar restaurants and a nice pool. But when I got there I was told that I would not be staying on the property shown in the ad, but instead in a hotel several hundred yards away that had no pool, restaurants and no bar. I complained and they said well you can swim and drink here and then drive to the other property which I thought was a joke. Of course I ask for a full refund they said they were fully booked and was going to charge me at least the one night whether I stay or not. I complained about them misrepresenting themselves and keeping my money. Noting: that even though they say they were fully booked they were able to somehow offer me a $200 a night upgrade. Which of course proved further dishonesty, I mean how can you be fully booked but then offer an upgrade.Duh Anyways this place is dishonest, they ripped me off and then got mad at me for complaining. Based on some of the other reviews I understand that they are also a timeshare high pressure sales gimmick as well As for me I have to dispute through my financial institution and if need be I will take it to small claims court. bringing the ads in the original booking and comparing to what they were actually going to try to put me in. I absolutely refuse to let these people rip me off and I need you to help. I absolutely want a full refund. These people ruined my Holiday weekend with my 80 year old father. My husband and I have been owners at Stormy Point Village for about 8 years and, each time that we have come for a stay there, the condition of the cottages has gone downhill. This past stay was especially upsetting! First of all, we were sent to check into a cottage that was already occupied. An hour or so later, a person knocked on the cottage that we were secondarily sent to with the same situation. They had been sent to the 2nd cottage that we had already been checked into! They had to go back to the check-in center for reassignment! The cottage we were assigned to had dryrot on the front porch, the kitchen faucet was very loose and the grounds around the cottage were not being well maintained. The most upsetting thing was that the floor in the cottage were filthy dirty! Our feet/ socks were black from walking on them without our shoes on. Most places clean the floor thoroughly between occupants! It was disgusting and we probably will not be staying at Stormy Point any time in the near future. I should NOT have to bring a bucket and mop with me on vacation in order to feel like our accommodations are clean! read more

Stormy Point Resort is a nice development with good accommodations; however, the sales staff are inconsiderate, rude, and shady. We were talked into a timeshare sales presentation when we checked into the resort. We were told that it would be from 9-10:30 and that we would receive Silver Dollar City tickets as a gift for attending the presentation. We got up early and were at the office a few minutes before 9; however, we were told that they didn't have a sales person available and would have to wait until 10. I explained that we had plans for the day and didn't want to be delayed. We were then told that they would squeeze us in at 9:30 and they sent us several miles into Branson, we weren't originally told that it wasn't onsite. We arrived there and checked in at 9:22 but then were told AGAIN that they didn't have a sales person available and we would have to wait until 10. At 10 we finally were greeted by a sales representative who apologized for the wait and said he would get us out as quickly as possible. After several leading questions, he realized that we already owned a Wyndham timeshare and weren't interested in trading that in and purchasing theirs. He then began to stall and informed us that we had to be there for 2 hours to be eligible for the free gifts. We explained that we were told it would only last 90 minutes and that we had already been delayed over an hour past our original appt. He then moved us into another room and stalled even longer. At 10:30 the manager on duty (Bridgett) came to the table and said once the presentation began, we would have to remain for the full 2 hours in order to get our SDC tickets. She was very rude and it was obvious that they were trying to waste our time and make us angry so that we would leave and they wouldn't have to honor the gifts that we were promised. She actually said, you are welcome to leave now. It was the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. We had already spent 2 hours of our morning getting the run around so we decided we would buy our own tickets and we left. When I returned to the main office, I asked for the name and phone number for Bridgett's boss, got another run around, and was never given the information. We will never stay at this property again. read more

It's fine to visit but they treat their odd/even year owners horribly. If they aren't able to pressure you into buying more time you get the cold shoulder. To make matters worse they double dip on special assessments. A perfect example this year's owners were assessed at $600 extra this year so all the units owned by once a year owners paid $600. Even though for maintenance odd/even year owners only pay every other year BECAUSE you only use the property half as much as regular owners, which is totally fair, they DOUBLE DIP on the odd/even owners by charging BOTH of you $600 and just expect you're not smart enough to figure it out. Cottage- super clean and really well decorated! Front desk- felt chaotic and unorganized checking in. You have to bounce to 4 different people to check in. Restaurant- terrible. Mediocre food... the chicken pot pie was hardly a chicken pot pie. Everything needed seasoning. The drinks were great!! The wait staff were not on it. Waited long periods of time for drinks, food etc Pool- lifeguards seemed miserable to be there. One even putting her head in her hands multiple times. There's a big black container that fills with water and drops it down every few minutes, well the noise it makes when it spins is terrible. Basically nails on a chalkboard. read more

Great location, love the individual cottages as it doesn't feel like a normal vacation at a hotel. Glad they added a second larger outdoor pool area, to add to the small indoor pool and original outdoor pool. House was clean and well maintained, no issues with accommodations. This was our second time here on a vacation exchange and will be back when visiting Branson again. Only downside is the usual sales attempt when checking into a timeshare. I have 2 inherited weeks, and won't be buying any nor upgrading. read more

I hurts to review as 1 star. The bar staff and many other staff members are true gems! The managers over the cleaning crew cannot get it right. There are some awesome qualities about this resort, but some letdowns. Pros: Great bar Great pool area for the kids Clean, beautiful rooms Excellent customer service Cons: Not actually a sauna as advertised (it's been out if commission for "quite a while") Game room=three arcade games Quality of food was inconsistent in restaurants (service was great) Surprisingly difficult to access the lake. There are beautiful views of it as you come into the resort (minus the construction), but there weren't any open beaches nearby. If it weren't advertised as being a lakeside resort with a sauna, I'd be far less disappointed. read more

My parents' traded in a week of their timeshare to come here. At first, I thought why the heck go to Branson. But after going, it was very interesting and a nice escape from my usual southern California bubble. Their style here is Cape Cod in Missouri. There are little cottages which is a big difference from the hotel style timeshare we usually have at home. Each cottage has a small kitchen and a washer and dryer. Our cottage was a two bedroom (a bedroom located upstairs) and two bathrooms. This was very spacious for the four of us. This is gated so you have some feeling of security when you stay here. I know if says free wifi, but its only for 5 minutes, if you're in the cottage. And also at night, be careful because there are no street lights and on mountain roads it's very dark. There isn't many grocery stores near by opened late at night, with the exception of Wal-mart but it not a Super Wal-mart and the grocery section is somewhat limited and very pricey. Probably because it's the only thing around. Depending on where your cottage is located you can have a very scenic view. We were lucky enough to be there right when many of the leaves were changing colors for the autumn season. read more

This place is awesome! It really is the "Nantucket of Branson". The place we stayed in was beautiful. Very well furnished, granite countertops, flat screens, very modern. Nautical theme decor was very fitting to the locale. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone heading to Branson. Silver Dollar City and all of the shows are only a few minutes drive. Beautiful, quiet clean mini houses. Came last year also. This time we reserved a 4 bedroom. What a nice place large place. They think of everything I even had a makeup mirror to tweeze my over grown eyebrows ! Cute decor. My daughter who is 3, we picked the pirate bedroom which was decorated in a pirate theme. Located on the bottom floor (three level) we call it the "girl cave". Complete with our own bathroom, big screen tv, sectional and washer and dryer. Also comes with a blu ray and and Xbox. We went to the pool today and tomorrow we will visit the butterfly palace. A must for the ozarks. This is a time share so exchange it. read more

Well we recently returned from a three night stay at Stormy Point Village the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before memorial day. While We love Stormy Point Village resort itself, We have gotten to the point that we despise every buying in and being treated like we are stupid if we don't upgrade every time we visit and spend tens of thousands of dollars more with Capital Vacations (the new owners about 2 or so years ago) When we first bought in with Stormy Point as 4 bedroom Admiral Club owners several years ago we really loved it. We were able to go for "our week" whenever we wanted and, could book single night stays for $50-75 per night. The yearly maintenance fees were very reasonable etc. Then came Capital Vacations (new resort ownership) They convinced us the first year that if we didn't "upgrade" for another 10K to their new points program that we would have trouble getting our week when we wanted it unless it was off season, and if we upgraded we could also sell back our unused points to pay the yearly fees or book weeks and rent them out with our points and pocket the cash, also if we ever wanted to get out or sell our timeshare we could. None of that was true. This last visit they talked us in to attending a 45 minute "owners update" to go over some of our new benefits as owners, since we hadn't been to one for a couple years, we went. BIG MISTAKE! there were no new owner benefits only a 2+ hour high pressure sales pitch to try and milk us for 25K for so called things we were already supposed to be able to do with our current ownership that turned out to be lies the first time. When we said no and got up to leave we were told to wait, In a loud enough voice that the other potential prey/prospects could hear that We had wasted enough time and money, there was no way in Hell that we were going to give them 25K for any so called upgrade, we were quickly ushered out by our rude salesman and told "Fine if that's what you want , then just keep paying out more every year with increased maintenance fees and then your kids and grandkids will be stuck with them when you are gone. I will never attend another Owner Meeting as long as we have this ownership and we will be exploring our options to rid ourselves of this type of treatment and scam for good. read more

Employees have no clue to where to send owners for tickets, no clues on what entertainment is going on and where to pick up tickets or receipt to show to get into the event. They think they need an employee AM metting to know how to answer lwners questions instead of sending them here and there! read more

We first bought with this timeshare company in 2014. Since the 3-bedroom we owned was traded in when we upgraded to a 4-bedroom in 2017, we won't go into all that happened at the sales presentation in 2014 except to say that the high-pressure sales experience was similar. Moving on now to that upgrade in November 2017. Steve McQuire was very specific when telling us that if we upgraded to the 4-bedroom and if we never used the 4-bedroom but always used a 3-bedroom, we would never pay any maintenance fees. No Maintenance Fees Ever. That is what he promised us. We know now that that is a total lie. We would never have gotten in deeper if he hadn't sold us on this "plan." On top of that soon after the purchase we got hit with a special assessment fee. He never mentioned the possibility of something like that happening. We were caught by surprise on that and not a good surprise either. The cost of the special assessment was $700. Both sales presentations were straightforward and easy to understand - we thought. The thing is that afterward, when we tried to use the timeshare as sold to us, we found we couldn't. The sales reps had told us we could make plans for anywhere and anytime we wanted. That is not true. Our first choice was never available for the Christmas season. You would have thought we would have hit this lottery once in a while. Steve also told us that our investment would increase in value because Summer Winds was making improvements to the property. We have not seen the value increase. In fact a quick check on eBay will show you exactly what the timeshare is worth - about a dollar. We don't want this timeshare that Steve lied to us in order to get us to buy. We want this upgrade canceled. In fact, we don't want the 3-bedroom we had either. We don't want it back. We want our contract with them canceled and the money we charged to the Bank of America card refunded. Cancel that charge! Floyd Elliott responded to our last letter saying they can't be responsible for every single thing the salesmen promise. If we can't believe the sales reps and take them at their word, then why do we have to attend hours-long sales meetings? They run a lot longer than 90 minutes and they are well aware of that. Promises, perks, threats (You are throwing away the best deal ever! Never offered this again!), benefits, advantages, anywhere and anytime, unlimited availability, etc. etc. etc. We never never would have upgraded if Steve hadn't made us that promise of no maintenance fees. read more

We purchased a timeshare here a couple of years ago and have stayed one full week and several times for 3 nights. We LOVE It. Well worth the money if you are going to use it. You can rent boats or a slip if you have a boat. There is a dock for swimming in the lake, a pool with a poolside bar/restaurant. The restaurant menu is somewhat limited and pricey but it's not bad if you do not want to venture out. The cottages are clean and comfortable, master bathrooms have a jet tub and large shower. Kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Beats a Hotel for sure. Usually quite a few kids in the pool which for us is a bit of a downside but they are supposed to be building an adult only pool section in the future. Would recommend. read more

So, this might be the quality that you get for a price like this, I'm not sure, but when we booked a vacation at the stormy point we were deeply disturbed by the quality of service. The staff resembled angsty middle schoolers when questions were asked about why our room wasn't ready at check in time (which by the way, at 4 is already an hour later than it should be compared to any other resort I've ever been to). The staff was unaccommodating with no answers to any questions or solutions to problems. We got in at 11 am with a sick member of the group asking if there was anyway that they could check us in a little early-buy the time their advertised check in rolled around, at 4 o'clock we were still left waiting and waiting for our room. Listen--things happen, mix ups, no shows, disasters, but when you as a company drop the ball, the LEAST you can do is apologize and offer a coupon for a free soda while your guests wait. INSTEAD they used their screw ups as a manipulation to try and get us to spend more money at their bar/restaurant. Abysmal and amateur business practices. read more

We are owners at Stormy Point for about 5 years now. When we checked in this time we were told that we needed to attend a short 30 minute class on the new resort owners changes to the resort that would possibly effect our ownership. As we began the "class" which was really a one on one meeting in a room behind a closed door. What they were selling was some sort of point system . When we flat our declined they became hostile and even brought a guy in who came is slamming papers down for us to sign that would verify that we had refused their offer to help us by selling us points. This guy became insulting and very rude when we said we were not signing any papers. The meeting actually was about 80 minutes long . We were upset and pretty disappointed in Stormy Point and instead of enjoying our vacation we have been replaying this awful encounter in out minds. We know that there were other owners that has this very same experience this week. Please review the complaints on the BBB.org website. The company Capital Vacations is also called SURREY VACATION RESORTS on the BBB website. If you are considering buying timeshare at Stormy Point...don't do it. If you get offered free tickets to shows or other monetary gifts to listen to their sales pitch be prepared to spend at least 90 minutes of hard sell , disrespectful, flim flam selling tactics. I think they are running some sort of sham. Don't get involved if you can avoid it. read more

My son and daughter-in-law purchased here. I was a little afraid until we vacationed this week with them. They are so child friendly and plan so many activities for them. The homes are very nice and well decorated, everyone is friendly. The boat ramp and dock were closed which was the Corp of Engineers. But the pool and waterpark, bar and restaurant all great. Deceptive sales/maintenance fees. Don't buy a timeshare here. They will tell you maintenance fees won't go up, well I will tell you they do about every 3 years. They also say you can be reimbursed your maintenance fee if you don't use your week. Well, they also don't tell you the fee needs to be requested a year in advance and the forms are a run-around to request it. Buyer beware. Potential buyer, don't buy. read more

The grounds are wonderful for the most point, but I must say: BUYER BEWARE! My experience with Stormy Point by Summerwinds has been disappointing. This company uses a bandwagon approach to sell their product. They will tell you that you are actually owning property. NOT TRUE! If you purchase, you are buying a week. They will continually work to get you to update your contract promising more services and ease into refinancing. My experience with them has been bait and switch, fraudulent practices, and preying on seniors. We were even told that their target customer is approximately 75 years old. We've made every conceivable mode of trying to contact them, even sending a certified, return receipt requested, but no one will communicate with us. I'm done, and am contacting every state and federal agency possible to demand a resolution. read more

We stupidly signed up for a presentation which was suppose to take less than a hour and it took over 4 hours. Jason, the salesman was nice but just drug things along even tho we told him we were not going to make a decision on the spot, that, that's not how we do things. He understood but since he couldn't make the sale he brought a strong arm in to bully us and insult us for not excepting his offer! I gave it one star only because the decorations at houses were nice but oddly hardly seen anyone around them, living. I've read since our presentation on Ripoff how retired people have been robbed from there dreams! So Thankful we are not impulse buyers! Please if you read this investigate! This place is fantastic and I cannot wait to get back. Me and my dad are trying to book time in late August or early September for our annual golf trip. This is not our year so we have to wait for the 30 day window and hope for the best. If anyone is questioning whether to visit this resort you can stop worrying. Just left there this past Saturday. Our experience was not the best. We discovered ants coming in 3 different times in 3 different places. The cottage was NOT clean! The quilts on the beds had stains on them. The floors, especially the bathroom, were definitely not clean. The blinds, fans, light fixtures and under the bed were so dusty....like they hadn't been dusted yet this year! Had to have the housecleaning peeps come in the first day. Also had maintenance come in to fix the porch and spray for the ants. We found bug sprayed dead ants on the kitchen wall when we got there! Our back porch was also filthy! So in need of powerwashing! And, as someone else said, we arrived around 4 and the cottage wasn't ready yet. Also not happy with the lack of use of the boat dock! The whole reason we bought there. Hopefully that will be fixed by next year and hopefully they won't fill it with rental boats again! All of the staff that we dealt with were very courtious. I hope that one time we will be able go into our cottage and find it perfect?! Hoping they will start maintaining the existing units instead of dwelling on building more units! read more
