We tried to understand what she meant and told her we never were notified this and she said "I don't follow U-Haul I follow my rules". I asked her why and she said "this area is super sketchy so I want to get rid of my vans as fast as possible" (WTF?!). She had no solution and basically told us to F off, we ultimately went to a different rental company. Once again this site is very vocal about not following U-Haul policy and "make their own rules". Our big studio took about 2 hours to load into the small uhaul and about 45 mins to unload at our new place. They moved all of the big furniture and didn't leave a scratch on anything! The trucker turned out to be a complete liar, which we learned when so much of our stuff was waterlogged. Good thing the movers at our final destination (Washington state) took video of water pouring into the truck in the rain. During the move into our new place I tried to get hold of Bellhop via phone (AI assistant- super annoying, didn't result in a call for 5-6 hours) and text. They completely dropped the ball. By a miracle, our stuff arrived in ok shape, even though the boxes were soaked. I only filed a claim for an expensive linen lampshade, even though we did end up with some scratches on the furniture. Just got back the claim result: they are offering me ONE DOLLAR AND TWENTY CENTS. My annoyance and disgust with this company is very, very high. Awful.

I looked around and found a bunch of run down Public Storage and other aging/dingy Seattle facilities, many of them with plywood floors with oil and all sorts of other gross spills, poor security, in sketchy neighborhoods. The clean ones in nicer neighborhoods were super expensive. West Coast Self Storage is a new building, shiny concrete floors, friendly staff, strong security, well kept and spotless front to back. Access to the unit was available everytime I needed it, billing was effortless with auto-pay, and though I recently left now that the remodel is over and I moved my keepsakes back to my house, I know next time I need CLEAN and affordable self storage, I will choose this business. I was charged a $75 fee because one item was accidentally left outside of my storage unit temporarily. When I questioned the charge, the manager told me it was allowed "per the contract." After reviewing my rental agreement myself, I could not find any language stating that this situation was subject to a $75 fee. I called back and asked the manager to specifically show me where in the contract this charge was authorized. She pointed me to Section 14, but even after reviewing it during the call, there was still no wording explaining that this type of issue carried a $75 charge. When I respectfully pointed that out, the manager became hostile and eventually hung up on me. What is most frustrating is that I have not been able to get any real help regarding this charge at the facility level and now have to escalate the issue to corporate just to try to get answers and assistance. Communication throughout this situation has been very poor and extremely unprofessional.

We just loved the moving crew, the way they set up everything for us, helped a lot with packing and timewise it was far from what I expected cause these movers were fast.
