    Vegan Florentine Benedict
    Natasha G.

I really like that they have vegan swaps here without an up charge. It's really hard to eat breakfast out when one doesn't eat eggs. Anyways, I got the vegan Florentine Benedict. It tasted really good and was super filling. I took half of it home. I was confused by whatever the vegan hollandaise sauce was because it wasn't saucy and it seemed like something that curdled or was crumbly? Also, it came over toast for some reason.. the servers are friendly here. The decor is amazing. Kitchen can be a bit slow at times. Overall, a cool place! And I'll keep going for the vegan breakfast options!

We had a group of six women that went on a Friday for afternoon tea. Our server was delightful. The attention to detail in decor and the centerpieces was impressive. We selected our own tea from the available offerings. Good tea in cool packaging! Then we got tea pots of hot water to brew the tea in our cup to our liking. The food was delicious and exactly as described. This is my second time for tea there. I look forward to going again.

Finally booked a reservation for tea time here. My daughter, girlfriend and I had a delightful experience. Tea time is offered only on the weekdays . It's $40 a person ( plus tax and gratuity). The restaurant has whimsical decor to match the tea time vibe. I noticed many ladies got dressed up to have tea with their friends. The restaurant dedicated a section for tea time and the rest for lunch service. The servers were friendly and came around often to check if we needed anything and to fill our teapot. We were offered multiple tea bag options which was a nice surprise. A small printed menu was on the plate to say what we would be served . You start off with a glass of champagne! Food ,( savory pinwheel, cheese tart, ) fruit (stawberries& grapes) and sandwiches ( cucumber with cream cheese, chicken herb salad , ham and Dijon mustard) and pastries ( scone, danish& biscuit) were presented in the traditional way on a multi tiered dish. There were all sorts of delicious finger snacks . Everything was tasty and flavorful. We had an enjoyable time here . I think I'll bring my mom next time .

Amazing food, great ambiance, and wonderful service from a happy staff. Get the chilaquiles (with chili verde).

This place was pretty good, I ordered the short rib with potatoes and steamed carrots. The gravy was flavorful. We ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer. It was colorful and filled with lots of goodies. The service was great. The inside was a whimsical fun take on Alice in Wonderland. We came for the dinner. Considering going back to try the mad Hatter tea party. It was definitely a fun place perfect for date night.

Very beautiful and fun! I went with a group of friends for lunch and it was busy but not crazy. They got the chicken & waffles and let me have some - its a mini waffle and a fat tender, you get 4 of them with bacon jam - and they were very good. Savory and sweet and i think because it was a mini waffle you had a better ratio. I got the steak breakfast burrito and it was huge and also delicious. Did not reinvent the wheel or anything it was just a solid burrito. I also had the prickly pear mimosa - that was definitely a highlight because it was beautiful and sweet. Everything is a good portion. We shared the banana biscoff pie and even tho banana is not my favorite thing it was a very dense and sweet almost cheesecake kinda pie. Server was attentive. I think he had quite a few tables so i know he was doing his best and very friendly. I look forward to coming back for afternoon tea sometime soon. The decor is something else! Everywhere i looked i saw something new. Books and lovely art, flowers and butterflies. Chandeliers. Well stocked bar. Surprisingly a good amount of parking!

Made a reservation on OpenTable for 3pm not realizing that the mad hatter tea time ended at 3pm ‍. But the staff was so accommodating and so nice about it and didn't make us feel bad for making the wrong reservation time. The hostess and our waiter were awesome! And of course the kitchen staff for the delicious food. Parking was plentiful as well at the time we went. The Mad Hatter tea is $40 and come with so many pastries and sandwiches that left us all stuffed and happy. My faves were the cucumber sandwiches, apple butter, chicken sandwich, egg bites, and pastries. I ordered the jasmine green tea as well. The champagne on its own was drier but the little drink me bottle with simple syrup helped make it a little sweeter. For what you pay and what you get I really think it's an affordable amount compared to other tea places I've seen. This place makes for a great date night or if you're celebrating something special. Me and my friends enjoyed our time together with all the delicious treats and we definitely want to come back soon and try Story's other food and drink options!!

My mom and I did the Mad Hatter's Tea Party for my birthday a few months back and I still can't stop thinking about it! The ambiance is so immersive, you can just tell how much creativity and love went into it. The tower set and tea were delicious of course. I'd like to go back once they've change their theme, or even to try out the restaurant/speakeasy sides. I will definitely be returning!

Enjoyed a late Mother's Day Tea here at Story. What a wonderful experience. The Mad Hatters Tea was beautiful. Our server was very attentive and kept the hot water coming. The tier of yummy treats were perfect. Very filling too!

We came here for Mother's Day brunch and had such a great experience overall. This spot did a nice job with the setup. There was a long table in the middle of the restaurant to accommodate our large party and it felt thoughtful for the occasion right from the start. Our waiter was super attentive and genuinely kind, which made a big difference. The food and drinks all came out at a really nice pace, not rushed, not slow, just well-timed so we could actually enjoy everything. The drinks especially stood out, the horchata matcha martini was so good. It's such a fun twist on matcha and definitely something I'd recommend trying. Everyone at the table was really happy with their meals, and overall the food was great. The only small hiccup was my eggs Benedict, one of the eggs was overcooked instead of runny, which was a bit disappointing since that's kind of the highlight of that dish. Not something I usually run into, so it kinda stood out. That said, everything else, from the service to the overall experience was great. My family had a great time celebrating, and I'd definitely come back. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 just cause of that one small hiccup, but still a really great spot for brunch.

We came to Story Bar + Kitchen for brunch and had a great experience. The décor is very cool, filled with storybook-style images and books, giving it an Alice in Wonderland vibe but for adults. It really sets a fun and unique atmosphere. My wife ordered the Horchata Matcha Martini, which she loved. I found it a bit on the sweet side, but that's just my preference, I like my drinks stronger. I ordered the Pork Chile Verde Chilaquiles, which I really enjoyed. The portion had plenty of meat, and while the sauce wasn't spicy, it had great flavor and came topped with two perfectly cooked over-easy eggs. My wife also ordered the Chorizo Burger, which was delicious. Overall, this is a great brunch spot, especially for groups. Fun atmosphere, good food, and a solid place to gather with friends.

This greatly themed adorable spot is an awesome brunch spot to stop at. Large dinning area which could accommodate larger groups. Went for a catch lunch and this was an absolute treat! Enjoyed a few shareable plates. The goat cheese was my favorite, but the fries were highly disappointing. They arrived cold and the Parmesan was just sitting on top verses tossing in Parmesan but since they were cold the cheese did not even stay on the fries. Our server was EXTREMELY attentive.

Tried Story in Whittier and had a bit of a mixed experience, though the ambiance is lovely and a clear upgrade from the previous Toast. The rib eye chilaquiles were the standout--absolutely delicious. Everything was well balanced, with the right amount of pickled onions, queso, tender rib eye, and high-quality eggs (I believe they use Vital Farms eggs). The chips were nicely coated in a smoky chipotle salsa that added great depth without overpowering the dish. Unfortunately, the chicken and waffles fell short. The waffles were undercooked, with a mushy interior that detracted from the dish, and the onion bacon jam tasted overly bourbony and bitter, as if the alcohol hadn't been cooked off properly. The coffee drinks were also underwhelming. Both the rose latte and the abuela latte lacked flavor and didn't live up to expectations based on the menu. Overall, there's clear potential here, especially with dishes like the chilaquiles, but consistency--particularly with the waffles and coffee--still needs work.

Not too loud, not too mellow--just the right balance where you can vibe, have a conversation, and still feel the energy of the room. You can tell they actually care about the experience, not just throwing a playlist together. Now let's talk about the drinks... because that's really where they shine. Every cocktail feels intentional and crafted with care. You can taste the quality immediately--nothing watered down, nothing basic. They have a really cool mix of classic cocktails and modern twists, and even the familiar drinks feel elevated. It's the kind of place where you want to try something new every round because you trust the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. Service was on point too. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain drinks and made great recommendations, which made the whole experience even better. Their front of house focus is the wine bar, but they also have a good cocktail and martini menu, as well as a nice selection of food items. The interior is warm and cozy with two different seating areas. The larger front area has bar seating, quite a few tables, and a lounge area in the back corner with several couches. There is another area in the back which is smaller, and houses their cocktail bar and a number of two seat high top tables. You can order anything on the menu from either area. We sat at the bar in front for some Sunday evening cocktails and small bites. We started out with the spinach & artichoke dip ($15). The dip came out very hot, was a big portion, and was very good. However, the menu said it came with toast points, but instead it was served with tortilla chips which were just ok. The advertised toast points or fresher tortilla chips would have made this appetizer better. My first cocktail was the Limoncello Martini (vodka, fresh Limoncello, lemon juice, $15). I usually love anything lemon and this was a good martini with light lemon flavor. She started with the Purple Martin Martini (vodka, raspberry puree, pineapple, $15). This was another good martini with light sweetness from the raspberry and pineapple, not a sugar bomb. We wanted a little more food, so we ordered the Caprese flatbread ($18). It was a good size, and the dough was great. It had a good amount of cheese and tomatoes, and I really liked the balsamic drizzle on top. However, it did not come with the basil that was listed on the menu. Next, I tried the Peperoncino Martini (vodka, Italian Peperoncino brine, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, $15). I loved this, one of the more unique martinis I've had. She liked her sip so much, she ordered her own for number three. Her second cocktail was the Carmel Apple Martini (carmel apple vodka, Licor 43, lemon, star anise, caramel cube garnish, $15). Most of the time, you would expect a caramel apple martini to be a sugar bomb, but not this one. The flavors were great with a light sweetness. And who doesn't like a caramel square treat? For my last one, I had the Cinnamon Sleigh (bourbon, cinnamon spice, maple, orange twist, $15). This was a good sipping finisher with light cinnamon notes and those great orange aromatics. KJ was our server, and she was very sweet and friendly. We came early in the evening and it was a little slow, so we chatting with her quite a bit. I'd take a half point off for the two food items not coming with the listed items, but rounded up to five stars overall. The bill had a 3% charge added for using a credit card. They have a music trivia night on Thursdays which would be fun to try. We enjoyed our first visit here, and will definitely return again.
