Stopped by for a late lunch and it was meh. Got their special which was a Philly cheesesteak, but it didn't feel like it had much cheese on it and the hoagie was kind of tiny underwhelming. It also didn't come with fries so it was just a really expensive tiny sandwich. Partner got their smash burger, which tasted weird to him, but I don't think it was the beef that was weird. It was the actual sauce that was on it that kind of changed the flavor of it. It almost made it taste kind of sour or just a strange flavor profile. It was also pretty undercooked for a smash burger, a lot more pink than I expected. Stoup is now one of our favorite places to go with the kids! Outside of Stoup is a big area for the kids to run around and huge rocks to play on. There's also a coffee shop on the other side of the big area outside that we have yet to try. At Stoup there is spacious seating and great staff! It's an "order and pay" experience through Toast Tab on your phone, different than a normal services restaurant, but it allows you to eat and pay without waiting for someone to close out your transaction. It's easy for groups too since there's a QR code per seat at each table that allows you to create your own tab or pay with a group. We've been there a few times, but all the food has been great so far. We've ordered the Brass Monkey pizza (extremely good crust and flavors), the kids cheese pizza, shishito peppers, smash burger, waffle fries, nachos (with carnitas), kids smash burger and the grilled cheese and crispy pancetta sandwich. The beer is good too, lots of options! They also have dessert, like soft serve, but they were sold out when we went last time. Parking was easy, there's street parking everywhere. read more

Fun and lively Kenmore outpost of our Ballard favorite! We were in Kenmore for the weekend and wanted to check this location out since we love Stoup Brewing and are actually having our rehearsal dinner next year at the original location. This one is definitely more of a " brewpub " than a brewery. You have to give your name upon arrival and they show you to a table. In our case, a table wasn't available for 30 minutes so we went across the courtyard to Diva Espresso to wait. There were lots of families with small children out enjoying the sun. This is definitely a great family spot for those who have little ones. Once we received a text indicating that our table was ready, we were surprised to see that the " table " was really just a bar-style outdoor counter with bar stools. This meant that we were sharing close quarters with another customer seated there. It was a bit uncomfortable given COVID--even though we were outside. It just felt like a weird solution to cram people together and call it a " table. " On to the food: The menu includes burgers and pizza (uses local flour too) as well as other dishes like salads and sides. We ordered two burgers and two sides of waffle fries along with our flight of IPAs. We loved everything! The burgers were juicy and the sauce they topped them with was BOMB. It was almost like a wasabi-horseradish mix? We also loved the fries (came nice and hot) and all the beers we tried. They have a good selection here, for sure! One more thing before I forget: looks like they allow events in this location too (I'm sure smaller right now due to the circumstances!) but we saw a baby shower happening upstairs in a private area. Great place! Efficient staff and really good food! Brussels sprouts are sooo good and their pizza is as well. They rotate their menu's so not always the same items. Nice outdoor space and right near a splash pad type of set up for the little kids in the summer. We used to really enjoy coming to Stoup in Kenmore. We would bring our elementary and middle school-aged kids and they were happy ordering off the kids menu. Everyone left satisfied and we looked forward to our next visit. However, over the past few years the quality of the food decreased, and the price skyrocketed. During a visit in 2024, we were going to order four different items off the small-ish menu, and when the server took our order, we were informed that all four items were not available. We didn't come back for about six months, and several of the menu items had changed, and two of our regular items on the menu were no longer available. My wife and I went back the other night to give it a try because our kids weren't with us and we wanted to check out the restaurant again (we have not been coming back because for our family of four it costs us $125-$135 here and we knew it would be cheaper with just the two of us). We finished our meal with about half of our food remaining, paid our bill, and left knowing we'd never come back. The employees are nice, and have always given us good drink recommendation, but house cocktails in small kids glasses are $14, salads are $16 without protein, pizzas are $34 for six slices, the burger and the chicken sandwich are $18, and most menu items that we enjoyed previously are gone. The nachos used to be the best that we could find in the area, and they are terrible now. The food is just not good. We really want to like this place, but can't justify the high cost of terrible food. We enjoy supporting our local breweries, and we'll be spending our money elsewhere moving forward. read more

Great brewery in Kenmore! Came here on back to back days with large groups of 8 and 16, and both days were pleasant experiences. They utilize an awesome QR code system where everyone can use an individual code to open up their own tab, and food/drinks can be ordered straight from your phone to your table. We found this system to be ultra efficient and we never had to leave our seats for drinks. The food was also pretty good. I ordered the salmon rice bowl and this was surprisingly delicious. Salmon cooked perfectly and tons of flavors in the bowl. $25 may be a bit high but to me it was worth it. For drinks they mostly have beers and wines, only 4 cocktails available. They also do not serve alcohol straight up as their cocktails are premixed with alcohol. Service was solid, everyone we interacted with was friendly for the most part and they worked fast and efficiently. It's a pretty great brewery that I would love to return to! read more

I want to love this place so much! We absolutely loved Seaplane. Their food and service were incredible. Unfortunately Stoup does not fill their shoes. I really hesitate to write a negative review during COVID, but this is now my third visit at Stoup. I've always enjoyed their drinks, but the food is almost inedible. First of all, their service model is unique at best. It's all online, which is cool, but I'm not sure how people who aren't tech savvy navigate the menu and online ordering. The online platform has very brief descriptions, leaving a lot of room for questions and interpretation. If you're lucky you'll be able to flag someone down who can fill in the gaps. The food is very marginal. Looks pretty in a picture but most things I've had are hard to eat. I had a square slice of pizza that I couldn't fit in my mouth, and it was too hard and stale to gracefully fork and knife it. We've tried their shareable fried chicken meal, and they do not provide proper utensils or individual plates. There was no room for bones or dirty napkins on the combined plate, so they just ended up in a soggy nasty pile on the table. The chicken was soggy, the hush puppies were bland and the Mac you better eat fast because once it cools it turns into a brick of cheese. So disappointing. We spent the ride home reminiscing about Seaplane and how much we miss it. Come to Stoup for the drinks, go elsewhere for your meal. read more

My group came too close to closing time and didn't want to order any food, so we just stuck with drinks. However, I will come back to try their food. The cocktails were just okay, I think next time I'll just do beer. So you order on your phone and you also check out on your phone. Some people see this as a con because there's not a lot of human interaction between the customer and staff. On the other hand people find it as a pro because you get your own privacy and you're not being interrupted. The staff was friendly and provided our drinks quickly and did answer questions we had. I was very impressed with this new location and the ambience is great!!! The food was so good and I was so surprised to see some negative reviews. There was a huge group of us and no one complained. We were seated outside since we had a dog and they had heat lamps to keep us warm. I didn't care for the online ordering especially when we had a huge group and the food didn't come out all at the same time. I'm not a fan of that cause one person is done with their meal and another person just gets their meal. I know it was busy and each table had their own table number when ordering and we had four tables. Just not a fan of that. I like the old school way and everyone gets their food at the same time. The beer is good and many choices to pick from. The staff was super great too even though it was a very busy night for them. We will be back! read more

Update: Within minutes of this post, the general manager reached out, apologized and comped our dinner. Her immediate response, apology and total reimbursement was unexpected and generous. She brought this from a bummer experience to an impressive recovery. Adding another star. Thank you, Stoup. I hope to give you another try. Original 2 stars: Take out experience was disappointing. They forgot the added on fries and dipping sauce that they charge additional for. When I realized this, I called to inquire I was told " you can come pick it up or I can reimburse you..." There was never an "I'm sorry". I chose reimbursement ( didnt realize at the time that the sauce was missing). Joshua said " ok!" He was about to hang up. I asked if I would get an updated receipt or notice of the change in charge. He thought so. I didn't feel confident about his response. It sounded like they were busy when he picked up. That is nice to hear. What I was most disappointed in was the lack ownership and no apology. I did tell him that i was disappointed and he said "he knew and will rely message." Later I realized the sauce I paid extra for was also omitted, but it's not worth the call back. I also tipped them 20% at the time I placed the order. Disappointing. Regarding the food, the fried chicken was very moist, has a mild flavor and is heavy on the breading. Mac and cheese has a good kick to it., very creamy. Hush puppies were hard, couldn't cut them and very chewy. In past orders, I'm a big fan of their salads and appetizer snacks. Ive always been a supporter of Stoup. Went to the grand opening. Love the redo from Seaplane. Good variety of offerings. Great atmosphere and easy to order and pay with limited interaction. Friendly staff. Great outdoor space. But I've heard a lot of negative reviews about their service- food didn't arrive, poor follow up and inflated prices. Unfortunately I experienced that tonight along with very underwhelming food. Talk about a great location! Stoup Kenmore is everything I want, and more out of a taproom! Their expansive tap list, for starters! They rotate beers quite frequently, as I've noticed every time I visit, they have new beers on tap to try! My husband and I like to try ALL beers, so we always go for samples. I will say that their sample prices are a little outrageous (hence the 4 star out of 5 review). In my opinion, samples should be $3.50 or less. Unless of course there's a specialty stout, or sour. Our last visit, we didn't have any food so when I was closing out the tab, I realized how pricey the he samples were. The burgers and sandwiches don't come with fries which I thought was a bummer. I think all burger fare should come with a side. They charge $3 if you want fries; or $4.50 for a salad. Pizza slices look delicious- but I wish they had more selection than pepperoni or cheese. I'd love to see a Hawaiian, or a meat lovers slice added to the "slice"menu! Overall, I do love to visit Stoup! The atmosphere and experience is always great. read more

I stopped in here for a business meeting a few weeks back and found it to be a really enjoyable laid back atmosphere worth some great noms. It's in a super convenient location in Kenmore and right next to a fun fountain that kids love to play in. They have both indoor and outside seating. The inside has a nice casual atmosphere where you order your brew and food from the counter and they bring it out to you. They have a great menu labeled for allergens and everyone i spoke with was very knowledgeable about the menu when I questioned on gluten free items. We ordered a few snacks to share and really enjoyed the delicious Lemongrass lime peanuts (they were way better than I even expected), the fabulous loaded nachos, the gluten free chicken wings, and a really great salad with chicken. The drinks and food were all excellent and I was so happy to have so many gf options. We'll definitely be back again soon for more of those delicious wings and nachos! read more

The food was good and I personally like their self-serve ordering style. The wait staff was mostly helpful and easy to find floating around, to get plates and to-go boxes. Food prices are a little high (the kids menu is adult food at lower prices; consider utilizing it), but that's mostly expected anymore. High enough this is going to be a "once in a very long while" place. The real issue is that they default you to 20% tip for staff that really only exists to bring your food out, and they calculate the tip *after tax*. Watch your bill, calculate your own 15% tip pre-tax, and put it in the "custom tip" field. And remember, that's a custom dollar amount, not a percentage. Don't go putting 15 in the field thinking it's a percentage when you intended to tip $9 on your oversized bill. At least it's better than the Seaplane place that was here before. Families are clearly welcome here and not shoved off into a dark, stuffy corner. Lots of families there around 6pm. Edited to add: I dropped another star because the Toast service they use for self-serve ordering and paying *will* spam you. There was no option to opt out of non-receipt emails, and sure enough the next day there was Stoup in my inbox. My bad for not using a throwaway spam address, but also shame on Stoup for bad behavior with no notice or opt-out option at signup. I don't care that, "Toast is not Stoup!" They use the service, they get dinged for the service's bad behavior. Find a better service. read more

I went here with a friend and sat at the bar. There was a short wait for outdoor seating and restaurant seating but we were able to sit at the bar right away. The host was super friendly and helpful and led us to the bar. They have an ordering app so a server won't come to you unless they are delivering your drinks and food. They do check back with you once you get your stuff. The staff was super friendly. We had a couple beers and shared the nachos. The nachos were the best ones I've had in awhile. They had a cheese sauce (not the movie theater kind) and you can add chicken. I asked for a side of sour cream and they brought it to me. Our beers were great. Our experience here was great! Received wrong sandwich. We ordered pizza and chicken sandwich (with the sauce on side) + fries. Never opened the wrapping until we got home.. come to find out they gave me a burger instead. No big deal, Drive back and they correct the order and gave me the chicken sandwich. Get home and open it fully to eat and it is absolutely DRENCHED in the sauce i requested on the side. The sandwhich isn't even edible at this point with the buckets of sauce they put on there with a tad bit of pink still in the chicken, which I noticed after I bit it. In the mood for nachos and these hit the spot! The "small" was definitely enough for 1 and would be a solid appetizer for 2, maybe 3 depending on appetite. The add-on chorizo was delicious! Ordering online at the table via "Toast" was simple; the app was smartly organized and user-friendly. I went during dinner time on a sunny Saturday so the wait time was at least 30 minutes. I skipped that by opting to eat at the bar. I tried the "Dark and Stormy" cocktail which had a good amount of kick to it. The staff were friendly and attentive but not annoyingly so. I could see 1 big screen with a random sporting event on; otherwise the decor is standard brewery-comfy. Lots of parking but it also fills up. If you are looking for an actual brewery, this isn't it. All the breweries I've ever been to have had open seating. If you are used to that, as well, just a fair warning that you need to go inside to be seated. I found a spot, sat down, talked to a server (who only asked what I'd like to order and didn't mention anything about needing to see a hostess to be served), ordered food on the app, and was finally approached by another server who told me that my food was already being made but that I had to move to a barrel because there were people "in line" somewhere. Y'all did the best you could, but please put some "please come inside to be seated" signs out. Would save everyone a lotta heart ache lol. Since it is a brewery I would have liked to get some beer recommendations, but there was no interaction with a human possible prior to ordering. Staff is amiable I suppose, but they don't spend more than 17 total seconds with you (I actually counted!), since they've outsourced all the ordering and payment-info work onto you, the lucky customer, via cumbersome phone app. But you still better tip the beanie-enthusiast hips employees! At a rate of $47/minute of work. Food is fine (expensive as hell, OBVIOUSLY). Appetizers cost about $3/bite. Burger was tasty--very similar to a Dick's Deluxe (just $15 more expensive, nbd). Nice place for couples with young kids. Kids can have fun and the adults can still have some of the brew pub with friends experience. Could be a bit frenetic if you're just expecting a beer and a burger at a brew pub. Service was decent. Food choices were limited.
