Great fries and pizza. Burger not so much. Cold, soggy bin with a crazy amount of burger sauce. Pretty sure that's what ruined it. Since they don't come back after serving you can't give direct feedback. So here it is for them. This burger was horrible. You can see on the napkin how much sauce I had to wipe off. Plus there is still a bunch you can see I didn't even get on the actual burger. Cold, too much sauce and just not great. Talked to one of the cooks and he took notes. Walked in with the intention of getting a Poke bowl because it was one of the few gluten free options on the menu. I then realized that it didn't mention fish. I asked the waiter if it had fish and responded in a rude tone saying that poke is a way of chopping food. Not fish. (FALSE, but anyway) I brushed it off and asked if I could get a burger with lettuce buns and again, no. I asked if anything on the menu could be made gluten free. The server responded in a smart tone, "The GF on the menu means gluten free." I have been gluten free for ten years now. The experience was insulting and I do NOT recommend unless you want bad customer service. read more

We just moved to Kenmore and Stoup is a 5 min walk from us so we've gone 5-6 times already. The location is awesome, and really good vibes, people with and without kids. The beers, cocktails from the barrel, pizza, nachos, burger are all solid, we will keep going 100% w/o a doubt. My only feedback are a couple of things, and again, we will be frequent customers no matter what bc this place is flat out a great spot. The nachos w/ carnitas, although pretty good, they are $23, like dayam, lumpia, $14?? One of the specials today was poke, and the tuna clearly wasn't fresh, there were cubes that were fibrous w/ muscle, and inedible. The rice the tuna was topped over was clearly old, and clumped up, it was clear the ingredients were from the day before, or older. It absolutely didn't justify $18. The staple dishes we love (pizza, nachos, although $$$, beers, cocktails) are what will keep us coming for sure. I think we'll just stick to the basics they're very good at. read more

Went to dinner the other night. The food was great. No doubt about it. The service was ass, tho. We're we're there about an hour, which is fine, but not one time did someone come ask how things were or to offer us more water. Would you like another beer? Nothing. I realize there are staffing shortages, but close sections off then. If you can't service the tables then don't offer them. Service a huge part of the meal. It can make it better...or worse. Lastly, there were six of us. Food for six, two appetizers and two beers = $215 (with tip). Holy hell Don't laugh, but I'll definitely be back. I didn't want to but after leaving pretty disappointed I have the agree with a lot of the food reviews. The drinks are great but the food could use some work. We got the SMASH BURGER, which is not so smashed and for $13 just for a burger without a side I'd recommend going down the street to Kid Valley for a better mediocre burger at a cheaper price. If they made a true smash burger rather than the thick overcooked patty they served, and actually put a "good sauce" on the burger and not just Mayo it would maybe worth the price point. If they correct a few of these issues maybe I'd give them another chance. read more

I've been to this place in its incarnation as Seaplane and I've been to this place in its incarnation as Stoup Brewing Kenmore. My wife asked if my disappointment with SBK could be attributed to the contrast between the great old and the not-so-great new. It could be. Or it could be that I didn't get any warm fuzzies by paying restaurant-level prices for a cafeteria or fast-food experience. The staff was all wonderful, especially the hostess, who seemed to be doing everything. The staff who delivered food were nice, too. But our experiences with them were so brief, how can you tell? Thankfully our food didn't require silverware because there is no silverware on the table. When we asked for two small plates with which to eat our pizza, the staff member appears puzzled by the request but is nice and we eventually get the plates. And that's the thing. How would one ask for silverware? Does the app or site have an option for calling a person? No one ever comes back to ask how you're doing (somehow, the hostess, who is charged with being traffic cop to the horde that wants tables, also is in charge of bringing us water). The food was good. The Porter was something to die for. The olives stuffed with mozzarella were fantastic. I didn't like the Torpedo pizza--swimming in too much of a sweet sauce--but my wife liked it, so that balances things out. It's not all a lost cause. The app-ordering idea isn't bad, in theory. It's just a rough diamond. And I'm not so put out that I would never come back. I would come back but would soften the financial blow by just having a beer. With SBK, there wasn't any single, dramatic bad event. No food poisoning, no rude staff, no over-the-top bad food. Just a lot of minor wrong notes. read more

Lin, that's what went wrong. You're going to want to sit down and grab a cold beer to read this one. Without this experience, it would be 5 stars. We've been here many times and have always had a great experience with staff, food and beverages. I have no complaints with anything nor anyone, aside from Lin. It was a gorgeous day and we were enjoying our beverages in the nice weather. We hadn't been there for 35 minutes total. Lin asked us if we were ready for another round, we weren't quite ready yet as I still had to about 1/3 of my beverage left so we responded not yet, however, Lin let us know that there was a long line of people waiting to be seated. Not only was there NO LINE, there were empty tables. We were caught off guard and processing that she's pretty much telling us to leave. It hits her that she responded unprofessionally, so she began to backpedal by offering us to stay longer and take our time, but the damage had been done and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I asked her for her name, to which she hesitated for a few seconds and said "Deli". I doubled checked the correct pronunciation of her name and she confirmed it was "Deli". I'll also note that she had a great rapport with the table beside us and I believe it's because the lady at the table did her hair or knew about her liking red hair. It could be because they also had food at their table and we only had beverages. I went inside to speak with the manager to inform her of what happened. The manager agreed that she, too, would be upset if that had happened to her. The manager was great and I should've taken her name, but "Deli", aka as Lin, had us feeling unwelcome and uncertain if we're coming back. We left without me finishing my beverage that still had about a 1/3 to ¼ left. Their cider was delish, by the way. But Lin? She's a hard pass. She's a poor representation of the Stoup brand. It only takes one person to ruin the experience. read more

1st and last visit. Used to work in Ballard so I visited their original location when they first opened. This was before they tried to get fancy. The good: lots of taps featuring mostly IPAs. Terrific layout with comfortable ambiance. Wait staff was terrific. The bad: tried a flight of high IBU beers; tap tender seemed confused with this as many beers were missing IBU rating. My 6, 8 Oz pour flight was $26, many of what I selected were $5 a pour....predatory? Ordering food on phone was confusing and tedious. I just wanted to taste a few to decide on what to fill my growler with. I decided on the mosaic fresh hop. No real standouts though. No flight should ever cost more than a growler...ever. A smaller pour is fine. Nachos were passing, loved the sweet pickled peppers, pizza was nasty, sauce reminded me of spaghetti-o's. 2 people, $80, short hit and run. Wont be back, won't recommend. So many other local choices that do better. read more

Came here for drinks after dinner just down the road @ Cedar + Elm. We got to sit outside, right next to the fire and we loved it!! Such a great time. We loved the beer & mules. I highly recommend the nachos.The service is top-notch, too. The employees are very friendly and attentive every time I've been here. 1st time visit Monday 5 pm Tables out front 2/3 full and no guests inside. No direction as to wait to be seated etc. so we grabbed a table. Saw a QR code to scan and it did state they were out of an item. A server walked by so I asked if they may have an alternate not on menu. I was told no and the server made no reccomendations and walked away. I went to the bar and ordered food and drinks. Food was delivered to the table. I had to go get our water and utensils...Food was average...And still they request a tip when paying the bill??? Bummer is I paid and tipped at the time of the order but they do nothing to entice you to stay...self service places should omit tips! read more

It's extremely nice to have a restaurant in Kenmore that actually had with a bar with cocktails (not the standard beer fare). Love the rotating cocktails. The food is also quite good. Big fan of the cod sandwich and a few of their smaller bites. Parking is also very easy for this restaurant. The main issue I have with this place is it's hours. Friday and Saturday, the place closes at 9pm! With all of the apartments and houses nearby, this place should be open, at minimum, until 10:30pm. It's the only walking distance option for those local to the area for food and drink, and closing at 9pm is such a shame. I hope this isn't permanent. read more

The pizza is delish--and served in ginormous portions, like a nice huge cheesy bread with pepperoni. Love the place at first sight. They have both indoor and outdoor seatings, very open and convinient location in Kenmore downtown. Atmosphere: awesome, as good as a brewery can be Staff: good. You need to order upfront so basically no table service Beer: as good as usual. I'm surprised to have the KY bourbon barrel aged imperial stout served in a 12oz glass - a strong flavorful stout generously served for you. The everybody loves everybody IPA is solidly good, texture and smell are on point. Pilsner for my personal taste is a tad sweet, but still good. I'd rate the beers 5/5. Food: this is the disappointed part, unfortunately. We ordered the torpedo pizza and a pretzel. + Pretzel: taste is good but texture is off. The pimento cheese sauce is a bit thin and the pretzel was overbaked. Very thick skin outside. + Pizza: again, flavor wise is good but the crust is so disappointing. It comes across that the pizza was frozen and re-baked to order. The crust is very dry, thick and crusty, doesnt have the gluten feel from a fresh dough. If they parbaked the pizza before hand, that also explained why the roasted peppers were overbaked too. I'd suggest to add onion for this kind of pizza to complete the flavor and texture Overall, for a brewery I'd rate 4/5, no creative beer on tap. I'd just come here for their beer, not the food. The food is 3/5 stars. Considering this is the 5th day since they are open, I hope to see some improvement in future Tip: grab a table, check their online menu for both drink and food before getting in line to order. read more

Opening Day +1 visit was everything I had expected it would be! Amazing beer selection, great food options and an awesome, friendly staff. I'll be a regular for beer! I just hope they can fix the pricing and/or quality of the food menu items. As others noted, the food is overpriced when considering the quality. This is the reason that I and other locals who I know didn't bother to visit when it was Seaplane, and apparently this issue unfortunately wasn't corrected when they reopened as Stoup. Fingers crossed that the kitchen problems will get sorted out by the management. read more

My girlfriend and I went there previously and there was no seating wait list and was just grab a table. We rented the Kenmore location's loft for a wedding rehearsal dinner and it did not disappoint! The space itself was stylish, clean and well maintained, and the staff that served our drinks and brought out our pre-ordered food were excellent. The drink selection was fantastic and the food was delicious as well (we mostly just had pizzas and salads). It was the perfect location for a laidback rehearsal dinner. One thing I would like to point out to any future guests is that the loft does not have an elevator and is therefore not wheelchair accessible, or accessible to older folks that can't go up and down stairs easily. But if that's not an issue for your group, I highly recommend it! read more

The waitress talked with the manager and told us there would be no charge for the meal. Once home, we discovered they charged us the full amount. We tried calling, but they do not take calls. LEGIT beer, LEGIT food, and super kind and accommodating staff. Oh wait... did I forget to add dog friendly?! As in they will bring your pup a cup o' brew (h2o) while you're sipping the good good. Their menu changes, keeping staples but adding seasonal appropriate delicious chow. Not a beer drinker? That's cool. They have cocktails on tap that are fun and delic, or wine. Their ordering system is slick, fast, better than any other establishment has adapted to Covid or even pre-Covid. The vibe is laid back, good fellow patrons, and great people watching, particularly on a warm Seattle day with the squeals of delight by kids playing in the water fountain next store. Overall I like this place. Kenmore is a bit of a hidden gem and its places like this that are putting it on the map. Good beer, good food in a beautiful brewery. Came with a large group and in terms of customer service I felt fulfilled but, the reason why I gave 4 and not 5 stars was the wait for orders was a bit longer than expected near 30 minutes. Yes we were a large group but, it wasn't that busy. I could tell something may have happened because the chef came and delivered our food. Stoup Brewing, good for beer, bad for food. I can comfortably say I'll never eat here again. When you start with mushy fries cauliflower, that's not a good start. I was hoping that it was a one off, but it just snowballed from there. The smash burger, picture enclosed, was one of the worst burgers I've ever had. Nothing about this burger is redeeming. I took two bites of this overcooked trainwreck and the secret sauce exploded out of the top of the bun like that thing in aliens. When people talk about a good juicy burger, they aren't talking about the condiments, but when there is zero moisture in the burger, I guess you have to substitute that experience. The muscles come with more bread than a family of five rats in a week. The meatballs come with stale buns, no mozzarella, and a human hair in it. The grilled cheese sloppy Joe was exactly as advertised, but still a bit underwhelming for a $15 sandwich. For the food, I would give it 2 stars. My burger and my husband's were so over cooked. I watched many other burgers come out that looked the same. Their menu is way over priced for what you get. They lack healthy ish options. Their salads are small and limited to only 2 options. This was not our first time eating here, but I waited to review until trying it a couple times. They do not provide physical menus unless you ask. You are asked to order your food/drinks on your phone. You don't have a server. One of many people bring your food or drinks. While I like the convenience of this, I have no interest in tipping the same for a lack of service that should be provided to earn a tip. No one asked how our food was or if we needed anything. I didn't have the option to tell anyone my burger was over cooked. The best part of this place is the outdoor atmosphere. If you sit outside, kids can run around or go play in the water fountains. There is usually chalk outside as well. The outdoor atmosphere is surely a lovely addition for Kenmore and desirable for families. read more

The gem of the Kenmore area. Great pizza, fun apps, great beer and excellent customer service. Very easy parking and plenty space for all sizes of crowd. Huge patio seating area and great ambience inside. The self-service app/site works pretty well, but takes a little getting used to. A must-do for the summer time! read more
