The sandwich's were just ok, I expected it to be more like a hot sandwich from the looks of it and that would have been better in my opinion. Also, I realize pesto has oil in it, but the pesto left the sandwich just drenched with oil which made it really messy and not that good. They only offer chips as a side which seems underwhelming. Let me start this off by saying, I was raised an Italian-American New Yorker. So my bar for this kind of food is excessively high! Where I'm from Italian deli is taken very very very seriously! We have very specialized stores just for this kinda thing. However, this kind of sandwich shop is definitely different than the way that I was raised. This is more aligned with All'Antico than a standard New York Italian deli. All that being said, STRADA is one of the very best things to happen to Fresno in a damn long time. I ordered way too many sandwiches & knew we wouldn't be able to eat them all, but we prefer combinations over more singular type sandwiches. So I asked them to deconstruct everything & they did! And they did it perfect perfectly w/out any fuss. That's why the picture is just of the bread. I forgot to take pictures after I crafted my new masterpiece combos. What I need to highlight here more than anything is the quality of the meats. That's something so very very rare to find outside of the NYC area. Practically nobody outside the Tri State area has decent Italian cold cuts. Not even in places you'd think would. Trust me when I tell you that we NYers have a different standard for Italian cold cuts. Everything was expertly cut, thinly sliced as it should be. Next, let's talk about their toppings. The quality of their oil & aged balsamic vinegar are off the charts, especially for a sandwich shop. All of the other toppings (like pesto, truffle spread, roasted tomato, pistachio spread, pecorino cream) were so perfectly balanced & so fresh & tasty. They fully enhanced the sando!!! Wow, kinda surprised at how good this spot was. I knew it wasn't going to be an All'Antico, but damn it does the job given the area we're in. 8/10 for the sandwich. I made a custom one with turkey and salami, added sun-dried tomato spread and pesto spread with fresh mozzarella, some veggies and avocado. It was great. Not worth waiting out in the heat for. I've spent quite a bit of time in italy visiting my family who live there and this pales in comparison. The flavor is not there, or is completely underwhelming. I'm not sure if sandwich ingredients are made with low grade products, or are not sourced locally. Either way, this place pretty much only rides on the "freshly baked focaccia" motto which is honestly not hard to come by anymore. The one thing that was amazing was the chocolate chip cookie. Now in their second week, Strada, the newest Pardini restaurant in Fresno has opened with a bang! I normally give a restaurant a month or so prior to trying and reviewing to allow"bugs" to be worked out. No need to with Strada. After reading the great reviews hfor Heirloom, a close neighbor, we decided to go there for Mother's Day lunch. Looking at the 150 plus people awaiting the opening, we moved down the parking area a bit to Strada. With an about 30 people waiting outside and another 40 or so waiting inside, we decided to go for it. About 35-40 minutes later a very talented looking crew was preparing our Sandwiches. The wait wasn't bad and I spent it learning about this new eatery. A knowledgeable young lady who was passing out menus to the line was very helpful with a friendly personality and seemingly a full understanding of the menus content really helped. The inside was clean, neat and comfortable. Some Italian music would have added a nice touch. I ordered the Spicy Soppressata, a nice sausage with spicy Calabrian pepper spread, Sun dried Tomato spread and Arugula. My wife ordered the Prosciutto Sandwich with fresh mozzarella and tomato, arugula, olive oil and aged balsamic. Both sandwiches were created with care and were absolutely delicious. Love this place! The line was a little long but honestly, it was well worth the hype. We waited about 20mins for our order to get taken (the line was well out the door about to reach the parking lot). The focaccia bread was cooked right in front of you so you know it's super fresh. I really appreciated that they crafted the sandwiches right in front of you and the methodical approach they took to layering the ingredients and wrapping the sandwich to make it look presentable. I got the prosciutto with salami added. It was delicious! The only thing I would change is to add more balsamic but that's my personal preference. I also got the fresh baked cookie. Amazing! When I stopped by I waited about 30-minutes for two sandwiches, which is nuts, but this place is super popular right now. I'd give it a month until the line starts to slow. I ordered two sandwiches, the roasted turkey with basil pesto and the spicy soppressata with pecorino cheese. Both were incredible and couldn't be more different in terms or flavor. As a California boy, I really loved the avocado addition to the roasted turkey sandwich and that basil pesto... bottle it! Because it needs to be on every sando I make at home. The spicy soppressata is the sandwich that will be on my regular rotation. I love heat and this spicy meat paired with the sun dried tomato spread is delicious! The bread must be mentioned, all of the focaccia here is made in house, given a lite butter bath and served. It's also the only bread, that I saw, that's offered here. Super soft, fluffy, and loaded with flavor, it's fantastic! People keep comparing Strada to Sam's Deli. They both make sandwiches and that's about where similarities end. Located in the parking lot of Noble credit union and a short distance from their sister restaurant Annesso's, you'll always find a long line outside of Strada. If you are in line outside, it can take anywhere between 20 and 30 minutes to get to the front and complete your order. It's a very similar setup to Butterfish in that the line wraps around and you place your order, making your way to all of the ingredients, including the spreads and proteins. The setup seems to have a lot of room for improvement in efficiency. The few times that we were there, we saw one, sometimes two, individuals cutting bread or at the bread station. There's one person who takes the order, grabs the bread, and puts the spread on. From there, someone in the back slices the protein and a third person puts the sandwich together and passes it down to be wrapped. On our first go round, it took an hour to get in and they messed up my order by giving me someone else's. I already paid for it had to wait about 10 minutes to get my order. We've tried the Mortadella which my husband swears by and will not deviate from. I think it is delicious although the ham is more of a bologna texture. Everything about the mortadella I loved minus the protein so I subbed it out for prosciutto at our next visit. The prosciutto ended up being a bit too salty. Our third visit, I tried the Straciatella. This didn't come with a protein, so I ended up adding the prosciutto again. It was just ok with the prosciutto. The price points for the sandwiches are very fair. I think that once they become more efficient on the line, the reviews will creep up a little bit closer to five stars. read more

The sandwich was very yummy! Walking into the restaurant felt super clean and just really classy. I enjoyed being able to watch them craft my sandwich together and even watch them take the focaccia bread out, freshly baked, and used for the sandwich. The service was wonderful! Everyone was very nice and friendly! The line was out the door and it wasn't as long as I thought it would take. My only big issue which is honestly why it's a 4/5 was because when they took out the bread from the oven, there was a whole in it. Instead of saving it they threw away right in front of us. Got in line around 11 AM (Well not me, but my partner. Bless his soul). Took about 40 mins to get the orders made. There was ample seating inside & outside but took the orders to-go. Ordered the spicy soppressata and prosciutto sandwiches. I liked the spicy soppressata better but both were good. Spicy soppressata had the perfect amount of spice that wasn't overpowering. It had semi-thick slices of parm reg, which really added nuttiness and depth I really liked. This sandwich was warmer than the prosciutto sandwich given the prosciutto sandwich had more cold ingredients (mozzarella, tomato). I am a warm sandwich gal, which is why I probably liked the spicy soppressata more. Lastly, we ordered the Nutella & pistachio sandwich. It's half the size of a normal sandwich (& half the price). Very simple ingredients that uses the same focaccia, Nutella, pistachio nuts, and flaky salt. Simple but delicious! I wanted to be mad that I could make it at home but couldn't since it was just plain good lol. Overall, the place isn't All'Antico Vinaio. My husband and I were excited to try this new Italian sandwich shop next to Annesso and owned by the same owners (Pardini). We went around 4 o'clock on Thursday after their opening and there was a line to get in. It probably took a half hour to get in and get to the ordering point. You order at the counter where you can see them making the bread and all the fresh ingredients to put on the sandwiches. I ordered the Tuscan ham and my husband got a plain turkey and salami sandwich with no spreads or toppings. He was happy with his. He loved the bread, and the meats are fresh and great quality. Unfortunately, my Tuscan ham had way too much spread or maybe the pecorino cream was just too overpowering. It was supposed to have a calabrian spicy spread, but I really couldn't taste the Calabrian Chile. I would not get those spreads in the future but probably just a drizzle of olive oil. The spreads were so overpowering I couldn't taste the freshness of any of the other ingredients. The foccacia bread was more crispy than chewy maybe because they warm it back up with olive oil right before making the sandwich. I would maybe ask that they not warm up the bread either if I go back. There was plenty of seating inside and outside on their patio, and everyone was super friendly. It's busy so go at an off-hour. I arrived about 8PM and the line still had formed. Simple offerings, I ordered the spicy sandwich, add tomatoes, sweet peppers, onions and pepper chinos and had them add a bit more spread. It's a large Sami so made 2 meals and let me tell you, after sitting in the fridge overnight, was SO MUCH BETTER! Ate cold. Came grand opening day. Service was very organized and smooth. Beautiful indoor seating area and patio seating with canopy umbrellas. The order: I got the prosciutto sandwich that comes with their homemade focaccia bread. The sandwich is cut into two pieces. First off, the bread is light and airy. Really great texture, not hard. My sandwich comes with fresh arugula and lightly drizzle aged balsamic vinegar. All the toppings pairs so well nicely. My sandwich was not complicated, just delicious. I also got their homemade chocolate chip cookie. This cookie was divine! I love how it is a thin crispy cookie. Very fresh when I got it. I would definitely get the cookie again. Staff were great, one approached me as I was finishing up and gave me a to-go bag when he saw I didn't finish the other half of the sandwich. Overall, wonderful experience. Fresno's hottest and newest Italian place has taken me back to my trip to Italy with their sandwiches. Expect to wait in line about 10-15 minutes with the line out the door, but the food is well worth and it gives you enough time to decipher through the menu. Even though each sandwich comes with some preset ingredients & spread, you can also add on and swap out ingredients & spreads as you please (a huge plus for those who aren't big fans of arugula, as it is in most of the sandwiches). I absolutely loved the maple bacon garlic confit in their roasted turkey and Brie sandwich. I would highly recommend adding the spicy Calabrian spread or the truffle spread onto whichever sandwich you choose if it doesn't come with it already. These spreads were so flavor packed and really elevated these sandwiches to a whole new level. They just added a couple of wines & beers to their menu as well (not shown in my visit). I've been saying Fresno needs an Italian street sandwich shop for 20 years. So excited to try Strada!!! It was fantastic. From the start of the fresh made bread to the quality ingredients and combination of flavor profiles for each of the sandwiches it met all my expectations. We did have to wait in line for 45 minutes, but was worth it. They are hustling inside to keep things moving. We ordered the prosciutto sandwich and the straciatella and both were fantastic. Got their sandwiches to go. Luckily I didn't have to wait in line since my sister was already ordering. Honestly I was having trouble with the menu because I'm more of a visual type, I want to see pictures hahah. They have the sandwich names under the meats that come with it I think and whatever that's listed below I guess that's what comes in it. I didn't know what type of meats came on the sandwich and if I were able to customize it to my liking, like adding extra deli meats, veggies or spreads. I have heard so much about this place so we decided to give it a try. We got in line at 10:53 on a Sunday, they opened at 10:30. We did not make it through the line until 11:40. It was a very long wait, with majority of the wait outside in the sun. The seating area isn't that large and there were many tables that had finished eating and were just sitting around chatting leaving lots of people having to get their food to go as there was nowhere to sit. The employees seemed very friendly. Dining area was being tended to quickly and was very clean. We split a Tuscan salami sandwich with the artichoke spread. We asked them to also add a bit of pesto. We heard people ordering a side of zucchini so we decided to as well. The sandwich and zucchini were delicious! Overall: A yummy place to eat! Went to try Strada over the weekend during a rush (2-3 pm) and ended up waiting 40 mins all together in line/ordering/receiving food. If you want something with a little kick the tuscan ham/soppressata might be in your lane. This place is definitely worth trying, and I will be coming back Inside: I like how the interior is decorated, with the frosted glass blocking customers who were eating vs in line. We ate inside, and even with the long line there was almost always free tables/chairs (both indoor and outdoor) Con: My only complaint is with the operations of the establishment, assuming the owner is responsible. I really wished the items at the food bar were labeled for the customers, and there was a better work flow that the employees could follow (given by management). While waiting for line I noticed that the wait wasn't because of the volume of customers itself, but because each customer would ask for extensive information about the ingredients! Most people didn't know what each sauce/meat was and would ask which ingredients fit under a certain dietary restriction and it made the entire ordering process SO slow. We went today to try it out I didn't expect the wait to be so long but it was worth it. They have over 20 employees working at the same time the smell is great the food is incredibly fresh. We bought three sandwiches and all three were perfect in their own way. The turkey artichoke is my favorite followed by the veggie one with fresh motz. I really wanted to like this place. We came here on a Friday evening, and the line wasn't too long. We waited for about 15 minutes to be served. They have a pretty diverse menu, and there are a lot of options for any taste bud, along with the robust kids' menu. They also have alcoholic beverages and a nice wine list, so that's also a plus. I got the Tuscan ham sandwich, and my partner got the turkey artichoke spread. Both of us felt as though the sandwiches lacked adequate seasoning, mainly salt. It seemed like there was no additional seasoning put into any of the spreads, the bread, or even the deli meats themselves, which were tasteless, even for a ham, which is really supposed to be salted relatively well. It culminated in a bite that was rather disappointing. The focaccia was fine, but again, it lacked any semblance of seasoning or salt. I think if I come here again, I would request extra salt to be put on my sandwiches. My wife and I have been to Europe a few times. We always come back raving about the food we find and the tastes we experience. We read this place wanted to capture some of that, so we tried it. I'm so happy we did. I closed my eyes before my first bite and was transported back to Italy. The bread was authentic, the ingredients familiar, and the overall taste spot on. It was a real treat. The line was long, I'll admit, despite us arriving at an in between time. But what do you expect when something new and unique opens up? I was just happy they were well staffed, things moved quickly, and we had no trouble finding a seat to dine in. The menu is small and focused, but with enough variety to allow for most to find a sandwich in their comfort zone. But in the end, it's all about the taste. That won me over. It was just a bonus to find the price was reasonable as well. We'll be back for sure. I have been keeping an eye on the construction and opening of Strada since learning it was coming, I could not be more excited to have an Italian sandwich shop the side of town. I went today for lunch with coworkers and it was delicious! I think we waited 30 minutes but we went around lunchtime, not too bad for just opening. Well worth the wait. I ordered the straciatella and added prosciutto since this is typically a sandwich without meat. The straciatella was fresh and creamy, the focaccia was delicious, abut what I really loved on mine was the roasted tomatoes and basil pesto. I was so excited when I first heard about this place. I'm a huge fan of All'Antico Vinaio and thought this would be similar. I couldn't have been more wrong. The mortadella quality wasn't there. Went today about 11. Line was not too long. Restaurant is very clean and orderly. The server at the door handed out menus which was great. The overall menu choices are excellent. I got the Capicola and my sister got the Salami with Truffle spread. Both were outstanding in presentation and flavor. The focaccia bread is made in house and you can watch them both bake and slice the bread. It is absolutely delicious in flavor. Soft and easy to chew and good flavor. I agree with another review here that it would be good for them to label the ingredients in the case so people can see. It would reduce the amount of questions and may make the line move faster. The only other concern i had is the placement of the fountain soda machine. People have to cross the line in order to get to it. It's too bad it can't be relocated either to the south east corner or to the back because people getting napkins, sodas, etc are having to disrupt the line to get past. Pardini nails it again with this sandwich concept. The ingredients are so fresh and the spreads help build great flavors, but the real star is the freshly baked bread. It is so light, yet so full of flavor. I literally would drive across town just for the bread. I ordered half BLT and half turkey and cheese with artichoke spread. Both were delicious but I liked the simplicity of the BLT more. It really let the bread shine imo. The price point is perfect, too. It's a tremendous value for what you get. The line was long but they have a very efficient system. It didn't take long and well worth the wait. I will def be back. read more

Incredible! Be prepared to find a line, but it goes quickly. A smiling clerk greets you at the door and hands you a menu. There is lot of help behind the counter. One person brushes olive oil on freshly baked focaccia bread while another slices. I ordered roasted turkey with brie. Another person sliced the meat while cheese is cut at the next station. Bacon compote is part of the sandwich, giving it an unexpected sweetness. It was delicious. Next time, I plan to order something more savory, like salami with truffle or pesto. Went to Strada on Mother's Day. It was an exceptional experience. Well organized, great service and crowd management as well as excellent food! I had a turkey and brie sandwich with onion jam. The sandwich is rather large and made from home made oven warm bread, the condiments are five star quality and the owner, Mr Pardini, was in the pass. Even the bus boy was awesome. Everything was perfect. If conditions remain the same I will eat here many, many more times! I couldn't suggest anything to improve this place! ITS AWESOME! Bring your entire family!! read more

Strada is the latest line of Pardini restaurants (Annex, Annesso, Willow Osteria). Today was the Grand Opening, and there was a line out the door. Fair warning, it took us about 20-30 minutes from the door to the cashier, but they make it as you go along (kind of like Chipotle). They continue to diversify and bring new food concepts to this part of Fresno that sorely needs it. We had the mortadella and coppa sandwiches, and both were stellar. The pistacchio and truffle spreads are very good, and you can add or customize the sandwiches as you wish. We also got a cookie which was also very good and reasonably priced. Parking was a struggle at lunch hour, but it looks like they are building additional parking. Overall, we are very excited and will be back! read more

The sandwiches are delicious. Last time I got the turkey with artichoke spread and sun-dried tomato spread. The sandwiches are on fresh house made focaccia bread and is really good! I would definitely go there again. All of their sandwiches looked really good. It was hard to pick. Also, you need to get one of their cookies. It was different and really good. There might be a wait, but it's worth it and it goes fast. read more
