This restaurant in Coconut Grove was a true delight. Our server was very knowledgeable and went over all the specials of the evening. We ordered the octopus carpaccio and it was delicious with pesto and a tomato avocado tartar in the center. It was plated to perfection and tasted so fresh. We ordered two pasta dishes - the black Ravioli with crab meat filling in a lobster sauce and the Fettuccine Ragu which was extra meaty. Both were very good. Cute Italian restaurant in Coconut grove. First time I sat inside (party of 6), and second time I sat outside for a large birthday dinner (party of 12). Food is very good, overall 4/5. They also had cheese and charcuterie options available which debated ordering. Maybe will go that route next time. For dinner they did have three daily specials available. I ordered from the menu and had the agnolotti with pumpkin and a butter sauce. It was a good portion and had subtle sweetness to it but because it was in a butter sauce it wasn't packed with flavor. I was warned it would be sweet but it really wasn't and I think it was yummy and well balanced but nothing to go crazy over. My date ordered the ravioli aragosta and enjoyed it - smaller portion compared to my plate. He seemed to enjoy it. The chocolate mousse was as spectacular! It came with a side of raspberry sauce and strawberries. This was my favorite part!! I would definitely come back to try out cheese charcuterie wine and dessert. Now I will say I thought it was a little pricy but hey worth it. Only one bad thing to say the tiramisu was not good way to dry and mousing instead of creamy and moist the way a tiramisu should be. At 10pm on a Saturday, I arrived into town. I parked and walked to this amazing street and was drawn in by the floor to ceiling windows that showcased Strada. The venue was packed, to include their patio... Even during a spring shower! I decided to wait for patio seating along the brick sidewalk and it was well worth it. Sitting outside affords the opportunity to enjoy nature and food and to truly experience the area at night. I started with their crab cake antipasti ($12.50). It features two large crab cakes, which are stuffed with mozzarella and jalepenos (not at all spicy, though). The accompanying sauce is citrus based and it makes this dish sing! I paired the appetizer with their house Prosecco (La Cacciatora $25/$9). Wow...perfect combination! Because the Crab cakes we so filling, I opted for another appetizer instead of a main course. I really enjoyed their Polpette, which features several small beef meatballs in a delicious tomato based sauce and topped with crunchy polenta ($10.50). What a fantastic finish. The heartiness of the zesty meatballs, coupled with the creamy polenta was a fantastic complement. As I transition to Miami from California, I embrace the easy and quirky nature of "The Grove" and I await more delicious offerings from Strada! As I wrap up this review, I must not forget to pay homage to Pietro! He was the king of the patio seating and he was absolutely charming. He knew the menu well enough (after only a few weeks working here) to successfully pair their food and wines. When I return, I will ask to be seated in Pietro's section. Grazie! read more

I'd heard great things about Strada and for the most part it was true. It is a very busy little place with sidewalk seating. We were a table of six and we had the usual chaos that a big table comes with. The service was very good. Everything we ate was delicious but I am not sure I would order the Arancini again. The only reason I've stripped a star is the potato au gratin was really quite remarkably below the standard of everything else. The potatoes were black and it was just a deflating element of the entire experience. We will come back again but won't order anything that comes with au gratin spuds. read more

Wow! What a great addition to the Coconut Grove restaurant scene! I joined my husband at Strada during his lunch break and we were quite pleased with the amazing menu and wine selection. We did not have a reservation, so we were unable to get one of the coveted window seats, but we were placed at a great table where we received good service. I am a "dessert first" type of girl, and sadly they were out of a lot of the desserts I wanted to try, like the gelato and chocolate mousse, but I selected the tiramisu and it was the BEST tiramisu I've ever had. Seriously! Delectable AND generous enough to share. The octopus salad was beautifully arranged and expertly grilled and well worth the $20 price. My husband selected the $23 lunch prix fix and it was an amazing value. It included an appetizer, entree and dessert. There was a large enough selection for anyone to be able to make some great choices. I ordered the lamb panini and I upon receiving it, immediately wished that I had not. The lamb, melted cheese and onions were fantastic. But the bread was HUGE! The slices were too large for me to fit into my mouth. I ended up taking off the top slice and ate the rest of the sandwich open face style with a knife and fork. All in all, I'll be back! Definitely for the tiramisu and to try a pasta dish. read more

Absolutely delicious and authentic spot for Italian food in the Grove. After being sat streetside, I started with a bottle of Riesling to share which was pretty good. My table got a prosciutto app, and the bites I had were incredible! Probably the best things we ordered. For an entree, I got the Pennete al Salmone pasta with red sauce instead of the cream sauce, and it was delicious. The sauce was spicier than most Italian restaurants (when they label a sauce spicy), but it was still really good and not overly powerful for me. The salmon was cooked perfectly as was the pasta. This is by far one of the best restaurants that I've ever been in Miami. The service is outstanding. The hostess explained to us the menu and the atmosphere in 3 seconds and bam we walked right in. The service at the bar was incredible, as an appetizer we ordered the Arancini which it was delicious. As a main course my friend had the fettuccini al ragú (excellent)! The pasta was al dente, the sauce incredible and I had the Farro de Caprino with chicken and once again it was delicious . I love the way that they prepare your salad, all veggies are covered with arugula and the chicken which it was perfectly cooked ( not to dry or not to juicy when having it with a salad) on top so as you start eating you will find all the extra delicious veggies. I also had a chance to try the Ravioli d' Aragosta... boy! That is perfection!!! The selection of wines is excellent. We had an Italian Pino Grigio which was delicious. The dish tasted like more like peas than anything, only had 4 ravioli, and was nearly twice the cost of the other pasta dishes for no clear reason ($42). I ate a ravioli and a half and ended up getting food elsewhere afterwards. The berries and cream dessert had a very heavily alcohol flavor in the cream, but the vanilla ice cream they replaced it with was delicious. read more

This is her second trip here. I guess that means they do some thing right, right?! The server was friendly and the service was fast. We were seated right away even though it was a Sunday [in the middle of Miami space] without any weight. I don't think however that they are in Miami space. I had the pasta which was gone before I had a chance to take a picture. It's apparently homemade pasta and definitely tastes Like it is. And only about $20 on brunch is definitely worth it. My partner and the Italian toast [basically French toast with Nutella in the middle] and although it was a little burnt, it tasted pretty nice. Servings are generous enough for brunch and pretty affordable. As with many places during Covid, the menu is now digital, but what was fun was that the bill was also able to be paid digitally. A little pain staking if you do have to manually enter your Credit card information, but thankfully the iPhone remembers your credit cards and automatically uploads it for you. Service is always exceptional and attentive at Strada; that servers take their time to explain all the specials, answer your questions and suggest wines. They also have a great dessert menu. They have a bar, a few outdoor tables, and a large window that they open during nice weather, so even the inside tables have an outside feel. Although the food itself deserves 3 stars, the urban yet cozy ambiance and friendly staff push it to 4. The bread was quite dry and tasted stale; the flavor was fine but the texture was really off putting. You could honestly expect better bread from way cheaper Italian chains. However, it's free so I suppose I can't complain too much. Our food came out promptly, and we had the option to add cheese, which is always a plus. I ordered the Ravioli d'Aragosta which comes with al dente raviolis with a sweet crab filling atop some salty and creamy lobster sauce. I did enjoy the contrast between the sweet and salty flavors, but it was a bit too extreme for my taste. My boyfriend had the Pappardelle con Crema di Porcini which was way undercooked, and pretty pricey for what was essentially pasta, sauce, and mushrooms. It was still enjoyable due to the strong yet pleasant mushroom flavor and rich sauce. Strada is the GO TO Italian restaurant in the Grove. Fresh pasts, great ambience, great service. You couldn't ask for more. There is limited seating in here and every time I pass by it is filled to the brim with people. Now I don't usually go into restaurants with this atmosphere unless it's for happy hour but I had to give Strada a Try and I am so glad I did. Our waiter sat us in a booth and I felt like I was in my own little world. It was nothing like I pictured the ambiance to be from the outside in. It was homey,warm and lively all at once. They do a great job of making you feel like you're cared for and the noise travels out through the open doors of the restaurant instead of staying trapped. Our server suggested the pasta carbonara and it did not disappoint. Personally i added some fresh pepper to enhance the flavors but that is just to my liking. Not pictured is the bruschetta my friends ordered because they devoured it but it's safe to say we recommend it. The tiramisu did not disappoint either, creamy, crunchy and with the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. I will definitely be going back for more. If you happen to be like me don't let the noise from the side walk deter you, it is one meal you won't regret! read more

Came for an early dinner on a Saturday and it was my first time. We were sat down and immediately my wife says I have to move the table. She was seated in between benches. So we slightly moved the table and our waiter, Miguel, came by and asked to move it again; like an annoyed surveyor moving a survey stake. We explained the situation and he explained how he did not want to loose or inconvenience a future table of four; more on that later. After a long time, we ordered two wines by the cup. My wife's Cabernet Sauvignon was acidic bordering on vinegar. We asked our server to take it back and he did. Then we ordered the burrada and bruschetta. The tomatoes the burrada was topped on were great. However, one of the pieces of the burrada was hard. The bruschetta, I am at a loss for words what I was served. I just ate it and put it out of its misery. I think I did something similar in undergrad at three am to a piece of bread and cheese topped on it. The entree was risotto with seafood. The mussels and clams were over cooked to oblivion. However the risotto was good and that's why the two stars. My wife's salmon was over done. Service: indifferent. I had to pour my water every time except once. The waiters were complaining about a couple that had hogged up a table. They were obsessed with flipping the tables as fast as they could. My table started to be cleaned as I was still sitting. And the table for four that Miguel had been hoarding over was never filed while we were there. This is a family favorite, in a family of Italian-loving North-easterners, so that's saying something. We like to order the burrata with anchovy, the simple tomato-based pastas, and the grilled fish. Sitting outside on Commodore Plaza and people-watching is also a perk of the location. I've tried most of the dishes on the menu by now, and the ones I would recommend tend to be the simplest options. All of their salads are crisp and refreshing. The veal tonnato is exactly what one would expect from a veal tonnato - thinly sliced veal with a tuna-based sauce, if that's what you're into. The lobster ravioli was overly creamy and heavy for my taste. The bolognese sauce is very good, but it's so rich that it takes a good 12 hours to fully digest. The bread basket is a devil's bargain. Yes it's free, and delicious when dabbed in their excellent olive oil, but do you really want to be that person with bread hanging out of your face when the waiter brings your first dish? read more

Went there for Miami Spice and tried the set menu. Here is my overall impression. DECOR/ AMBIANCE Very great, light color decor, simple but elegant. Definitely a great environment to come with family or a close friend that you want to chat and not be on a super noisy and young, hipster environment. Very pleasant to be there and I enjoyed. FOOD There were so great choices for the three course dinner option during the Miami spice. The appetizer was prosciutto with poached egg and potato fried chips. The portion was small but filling. I was asking that wow factor and I would rate as average. The main course I had the ravioli and although there were only 4 pieces, it was to die for and I would definitely go back for that dish. The dessert was a mixed berries with cream, it was ok. SERVICE The waiter was friendly and nice. Didn't see much of her during the dinner but at least we didn't had to wait long minutes until she came to check on us.
