I can't say enough great things about Frank at Stratton Termite and Roofing Solutions. When I requested an estimate from Frank, he came out the very next day and gave me a thorough walk through of what was to be expected. He seemed very sincere and gave us a fair price and emailed us a quote that night. Some of the other guys we had come out for estimates seemed kind of shady, so choosing him was an easy decision. However, what stood out most to me was that we had to delay the project for several months, and instead of assuming that we didn't want to use his services and forgetting about us, he kept in regular contact, in a non-pushy sort of way. It was encouraging to know that he wanted our business at a time when WE were ready. So the second we had the money saved back up again several months later, we called him and he had his team out immediately. I was very grateful for him reaching out to us several times over that interim period because I felt like we had built a relationship and that we could trust him when they started the job. First off, his team is so damn hardworking that's it's insane. He has a crew of super humble, honest guys that just put their heads down and grind out this grueling work. They ended up having to scrape 3 layers of shingles off our roof which is not for the faint of heart. What was nice is that he didn't nickel and dime for issues that they found throughout the project that they didn't anticipate. For example, at one point they had found that the previous roof didn't have plywood underneath, so they had to buy more sheets than expected. They also had to replace a bunch of wood throughout because of awful termite damage (and I knew he wasn't lying because we'd had swarmers in the house before and the termite droppings were EVERYWHERE when they did the demo on the roof). It was bad. Because he had walked me through the job site each day, explaining what they were working on and how they were doing it, I trusted him and didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of by the slight increase in price. No one could have anticipated it and we had known from day one that the roof was in terrible condition, so we were mentally prepared for that. He gave us a fair price for the extra plywood and still got the job done in 4 days, even with that setback. We also discussed the extensive termite damage and we liked how honest he was that we had him add on fumigation services with his company as soon as our roof was completed and he made it happen without question. The last thing I appreciated about Frank and his team is that they were considerate about the job site, our home, and our neighbors home. They took the time to clean up nails, debris, hauled trash away, etc. They also took extra care to not run over sprinkler heads, and some of our neighbor's lawn decor. Essentially, they made sure that the job site was clean when they left everyday and that made us feel way better about everything because we are very neat and clean people and roof demo was a dirty disaster zone. Our house looks AMAZING now...it's everything we had hoped it would look like from day one. We've hired our fair share of contractors to work on various things on the exterior of our home and a few of them I haven't been thrilled with, so I know the difference between a sub-par contractor and an excellent contractor. When we found termites swarming all over our house, we knew we needed fumigation. We contacted a few companies and, in the end, decided to work with Frank. We are very satisfied with Stratton Termite for the following reasons: 1. Cost - Stratton's quote was the cheapest compared to all other companies by quite a lot (more than $1000 less than most other quotes!) 2. Promised to fix any roof damage - Frank was willing to take responsibility for any roof damage that might happen to our roof during tenting and fix any damage at no additional cost. This was a big one, as roof damage was one of our key concerns. In the end, they didn't break any tiles, so this was not a problem. 3. Communication - The Franks (father and son) responded to inquiries, text messages, etc., promptly. They informed us about all steps of the process and were very responsive. 4. Customer service - Fumigation was supposed to start on Mon morning, but Frank and his crew only arrived early afternoon. This by itself is not a huge deal, but as it happened, afternoons are windier, and on Mon afternoon, the wind was too strong to tent our house safely. While they should not be responsible for delays due to strong winds, we were disappointed that everything was delayed by a day due to the late start and that we'll need another day at our Airbnb. We explained the situation to Frank, who offered to pay for the extra night. We decided not to take him on his offer as strong winds are not his fault, but I was happy that they offered this compensation for something that is only borderline their fault. I had extensive termite infestation and wood damage. Termite companies all agreed that spot treatment might be possible but would not be nearly as effective as tenting. I never wanted to tent but it seemed necessary , since spot treatment in the past did not stop the termites from feasting on the trim of my house. Many of my neighbors had tented as well and I think their termites just hopped over to my place as I noticed they were enjoying the roof shingles as well. I found Stratton Termite and Roofing Solutions on Yelp and trusted the over 100 five star ratings, and am glad I did. Frank is a good guy and was easy to work with. He did not provide an extensive, detailed report of the termite damage as some companies do, but I trusted him to do what he said he would and he came through. Not only did he fix the wood damaged by termites, but he also replaced siding damaged by dry rot. Any issue along the way, he addressed well and quickly. Arturo and Douglas are craftsman that made the repairs seamless. The fumigation company they contract with did a good job. My neighbor was pleased they were careful with her plants. Ours plants did pretty well also. We had no damage to rain gutters or the roof as some people report experiencing during fumigation (with any company). The work was done incredibly fast. Once I signed the contract, Arturo and Douglas came out the next morning to do the wood repairs which they finished that day. The fumigation was scheduled on the days I was hoping for. Frank's team came back to do a replacement of an acrylic patio covering, and did an amazing job. The patio covering replacement was too small a job for most contractors, but something Frank knew I wanted done and so got his guys to do it for me. They used high quality material (thicker acrylic than what was originally there) and it looks better than I could have hoped for. His pricing is very reasonable for - fumigation and repairs and it is easy to see why he has so many 5 star ratings. You won't regret hiring him (only the termites will). read more

Stratton repaired 2 fences and a patio cover. The work was done well but the estimating process was not. Frank inspected the patio cover and gave us an estimate which required several boards to be replaced. After the first day we suddenly got a new estimate by text, which was considerably higher. Frank came the next day and said once the work starts and some boards are removed, other issues are often found. He said he would have had to scrape some paint off to find the additional dry rot and we'd have been upset with the damaged paint. He knew the whole thing was going to be repainted, so chipping the paint was a moot point. If half the boards were visibly rotted, it would seem reasonable to check the other half. Since the patio cover was already half torn down, we didn't have much choice but to continue with Stratton, and since we now knew about the additional damage we agreed to the additional repairs. One of his workers tore the patio table cover and didn't mention it. Frank deducted the replacement cost from the bill. Another worker broke a sprinkler head which we didn't find until the job was done and they were gone. We repaired it ourselves. Near the end of the job we noticed something else we wanted done which they completed at no additional cost. As previously noted, the work was done well and we would use Stratton again, but we know to make sure ALL the possible issues are covered up front and we don't get a surprise new estimate. read more

I'm a new home owner and Frank did the termite inspection for the home during escrow. Since he did the report I decided to also go ahead and let him and his team do the work. Work included fumigation, minor wood replacement, roof repair and demoing and rebuilding a patio do to termite damage. The roof work and fumigation went well enough but ran into issues with the patio. In his report he stated that all wood for construction would be primed which it was not. I had to call them out on using a thin piece of wood as a fraisia, leveling and water flow on the patio and his crew cut a pipe that had electrical wires that feeds a tool shed while digging to build a concrete foundation for the patio post. They didn't bother to mention the damaged pipe and I had to investigate the matter myself and bring it to his attention. He ignored my calls and would respond with a text. A week goes by and I had to call him again since there was no resolution brought up to fixing the damaged pipe and wires. Again he ignored my calls. Once he finally responded in text he said he would send someone to fix issue. He didn't send an electrician but one of his workers to do a patch job instead of an honest repair. I only meet frank once in person when he collected full payment for the work before it even got started. I have tried to get a receipt from him on the work cost break down and he has ghosted me with no response even to my text. ​This whole experience has left me wondering on the quality of work. I will not recommend stratton termite to any one and write this review in hopes that those who read this will go in knowing what can happen to them as well. read more

We needed some large decorative beams cut back on our home due to excessive termite damage and dry rot, and after speaking to multiple termite repair companies, we felt so discouraged (this was weeks before we met Frank from Stratton). One company, Pacific Termite, met with us to give us an estimate, then returned on a different day for a second consult opinion and then, they asked for a third consult before they agreed to do the job, since our home is nearly three stories. Anyway, they agreed to do the job and we set a date and then just two days before the job the company canceled on us. Yes, that's right... after accommodating every one of their consult requests and agreeing to pay the agreed upon quote, they backed out last minute because they felt "uncomfortable with the height of the job." That concerned us since we figured this was part of there job all the time. But now looking back, I'm so glad Pacific canceled on us because that's when we called Frank! Which was the best decision we ever could have made. Frank came over the next day after we spoke to him and reassured us he was confident to do the job. Another day he stopped by with his carpenter to survey it and then gave us a quote and we scheduled a start date less than 1 week away. Frank told us the job was easy to do for them since they had so much experience and he was not joking! Even though he said he thought they could finish the job in just 1 day, they arrived on the scheduled date on time and got to work at 7 am. By noon, the entire job was done and they even cleaned up everywhere to leave things better than it was before. We were shocked, and also, relieved. Since our job was a matter of safety more than anything we can now rest at ease knowing that the termite problem has been completely remedied. All this to say, if you have a two story house and you need someone who is experienced and confident and a joy to be around and work with, call Frank at Stratton! I contacted Frank and 3 other termite providers, all of whom were reputable, had excellent Yelp reviews and showed well during our meetings. I picked Stratton because of Frank's ability to respond quickly, follow through on promises and willingness to standby his work. I experienced all this through the bid, execution and follow through. After the tent, they replaced the broken tile per our agreement at a fair price, sealed around the vents and provided insight into the quality of my roof. In the subsequent weeks as I had questions about the roof (unrelated to Frank and his work), Frank was diligent and prompt in getting back to me. Frank and his team were amazing! It was a very smooth transaction everything they said that they were going to do they did! The communication on a daily basis was there letting me know when the carpenter or the other workers would be arriving. I received pictures of not only the progress, but also pictures of all of the material that would be in you, pictures, showing it being laid down, and pictures of all of the wood that was removed. Frank and his team went above and beyond treating my roof as if it was their own. There were many areas that until the old material was removed. We were unable to see just how bad it was, but Frank and the team did not just cover it up nor did he try to gouge me for additional funds to take care of it. I had out apartment building tented and also had them rebuild two doorway overhangs that had been destroyed by termites. Frank and his builders were very professional. They took extra precautions to secure the building and even helped a tenant pack (who didn't finish himself) for termite preparation. They didn't have to do that. After they built the two overhangs, I didn't really like the way one of them looked. It didn't really match the one in the front. Without hesitation, Frank said he would tear it down and do it over to match the other one. He insisted it was no problem at no additional cost. I couldn't believe he would do that. But he did.
