On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, the room was quiet, and the temperature was perfect. However... We were in town for a funeral so were looking for a drama-free weekend. Add to that, I injured my foot earlier and was wearing a boot so I was looking for personal comfort. We arrived at about 7 after a 5-hour drive. The parking lot was full including 5-6 spots labeled "check-in" & there was obviously some sort of costume party going on. Before we realized there was an overflow lot, I called the hotel's direct number several times. It rang into a voicemail box advising that the box was full and to try again later. I never did reach a person. We found the overflow lot where we parked & unloaded what we could carry with my limited mobility. It's not like it was a mile, but it was about 100 yards. It would have been nice if the check in spots had not been taken by party-goers so we could have at least off-loaded our luggage even if we did have to park in the back lot. The lobby was packed with people in 80's costumes. We checked in & managed to maneuver through the crowd to the elevator & waited for a bunch of people who kept coming back to the lobby until they finally pushed the button to the roof where the bar is. We got in the elevator with our luggage & despite telling the next group of people who were also heading to the rooftop bar that we were going down, they still piled into the elevator & we had to work our way around them to get out. Inconsiderate people aren't the fault of the hotel. However, if the hotel had advised us ahead of time that, if possible, we should arrive by 4 or so in order to avoid the crowd, that would have been helpful. The hallway smelled very musty which wasn't a huge problem. It's a historic property but it was initially off-putting. None of the smell was noticeable in the rooms. There was only one pod for the Keurig; we were there 2 nights There was no hair dryer There were several long black hairs on the shower wall, along with something I didn't get close enough to identify The bathmat appeared dirty The bath towel hanging on the back of the door appeared used which left us with 3 fresh towels. I can't remember the last time I checked out of a hotel when the desk clerk didn't ask how we enjoyed our stay and did we find everything we needed. The clerk on Sunday morning just checked us out with none of the customer service niceties I would expect from a hotel in this price point. read more

This is always a fun place to frequent when looking for a good time. Their roof top bar is wonderful, they have karaoke nights and their drinks are good. The downstairs lounge has great american food, good music and good drinks too. I haven't stayed in a room yet since I live locally but streamline hotel is one of my favorite spots. read more

Compare to all the giant hotels in Daytona Beach Shore, Streamline hotel is modern looking smaller size hotel. Although Streamline hotel doesn't have direct access to the beach, it is still conveniently located very close to all attractions and it's probably just 2 minutes walk to the sand. The style of this hotel is unique and with a rooftop bar you have all the luxury you need for comfortable vacation stay. The room was good size with everything we could need, view offered look to the main street and sneak peek to the ocean! The only things we didn't love during our stay were thin walls that allowed hearing our neighbors' alarm at certain points; and that water in shower stopped running during showering without any warning. Luckily waiting few minutes was the key to get the stream back! In the end of the day it doesn't hurt to keep the conditioner in the hair for a longer while, especially after all day spent on hot sun and salty water, so some mistakes can be easily forgiven... read more

We booked the reservation on our Alaska Airline account and it was done sight unseen. When we arrived, I said to my husband, I hope this isn't a dump. On the outside it really doesn't look like much, but just wait until you get inside. It is very art deco in appearance and a really cool place. Then we found out it is the birthplace of NASCAR! WOW!! The elevator is covered in newspaper articles on a formica type surface with all the stories and pictures of racing and NASCAR. The room was lovely and although the rooftop bar was not opened on the night we stayed there, the desk clerk said we were welcome to go up and take a look. We were both pretty tired, so we passed, but we will be back to take a look at it. I have to say the bed was the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in, even surpassing the wonderful adjustable bed we have in our home. It was like sleeping on a cloud! I have since written to the hotel to find out what type of bed and what type of mattress pad they used as I want to replicate it at home. They had coffee in the room, a nice big TV and best of all a WALK IN shower. I hate having to step into a tub to take a shower. They even had a nice wooden shower bench in the shower. We will definitely stay here again if we ever are any where close to Daytona Beach, FL. We were disappointed that the restaurant didn't offer any breakfast, however, the desk clerk in the morning recommended a local restaurant for breakfast that wasn't a big chain restaurant. This hotel sure beats the "big" chain hotel/motels. It is small, and doesn't have a large number of rooms, but it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Price was competitive with the "big boys" and well worth it. I understand they are a bit pricier during the races and bike week, but so isn't every other hotel in the area. read more

Being nice Streamline is Hit and Miss. Owners take note: your restaurant is in a death spiral. The food is hit and miss. Some in our regular trivia group have tried the chicken and say too dry. I had the short rib ravioli first time great, second time slopped in sauce and over cooked. Had the French dip many times fantastic pot roast then it comes tonight with jiffy steak. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich once, who breads buffalo chicken: terrible. Others had burgers over cooked. Others the sweet potato fries: bad. The happy hour used to be my favorite drink 2 for 1 now it's a choice of well drinks. You run out of our favorite beer, wine, and spirits. If my friends didn't like trivia so much I'd stop going. PS. Your menu hasn't changed in a very very long time and no specials. COME ON MAN! Step it up and give your bartender some help. read more

Overall, the hotel stay was not terrible.... however, you're better off staying elsewhere in my opinion. -far away from where majority of Daytona beach's attractions are. -everything in the hotel is cheap... the elevator is historic and we were warned to be careful while using it because it can get stuck (yikes) -the "complimentary breakfast" is 2 pieces of un-toasted white bread in saran wrap and jelly. -there is an ADDITIONAL resort fee that they don't tell you about until you check-in We will never stay here again when there are WAY better options for the same price. read more

It is very sketchy. UPDATE 6/13/14 The Streamline is under new management and is being renovated. I have been asked by a member of the new management, Lucas, to remove my review. Had a wonderful experience staying at the Streamline. The staff were all so helpful and nice. They were there to provide us with what we needed at any hour. Okay, this review is absolutely NOT for the hotel portion of the Streamline - it's for the two AMAZING bars on the premises. The first is just off the lobby on the ground floor, and everyone down there is INCREDIBLY friendly and awesome and welcoming - and I'm a breeder, not exactly the target demographic. See, the thing about the Streamline is it's one of, if not THE, oldest gay and lesbian bar still in operation in the greater Daytona Beach area. So if that's so not your scene that you're anti-that-scene, this probably isn't the place for you to get your cheap drink on. Anybody else is enthusiastically welcomed to join the fun. Friday and Saturday nights, the downstairs bar hosts two amateur show nights, both of which are raucously hilarious. Friday's drag show gives Daytona's flashiest queens a chance to showcase both their style and vocal chords as they serenade the audience for tips, while Saturday's amateur male stripper contest is just. Lulz. They aren't kidding when they say amateur. When you first come to either of these nights at the Streamline, you get the impression that you've stumbled upon a secret club. Everyone inside seems to be a regular, cheering each other on, chattering across the room, and bantering with the host. The bar staff mix delightfully strong drinks, rove around from time to time with a tray of expertly composed shots, and add to the incredibly inclusive feeling of the room. This may be a secret club, but it's one they have no interest of shutting you out of if you come to have a good time. And then, once the show starts to wind down, you can head up to the penthouse/rooftop bar. Quieter, darker, and (not gonna lie) sketchier (thus the one star deduction), the main draw of the rooftop bar is (duh) the rooftop (does this sentence set a record for number of parenthetical comments?). It wraps around the penthouse bar, cruise ship style, and you get a great view of A1A and the rest of the city, despite being a mere four stories up. The breeze up there is refreshing, too, and it's a great place to chill with a group of friends and finish the night. In sum: the Streamline - good drinks, superb people, excellent times had by all. read more

Stayed here Thursday- Sunday for Biketoberfest 2017! Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Parking- good bike parking out front. Free Valet. No parking charges!!! Room- super nice brand new! Beds were so comfy. Bathrooms were great! Upstairs deck was amazing at night what a great place to hang out. Ample seating. Bar upstairs was great too. Good selection of everything great service. Continental free breakfast had tons of stuff on it. Me and my friends all have booked for Bike Week already! Easy walk to Main Street. Pool- super cute full sun all day even though we didn't go in it this trip. read more

I recently hotel renovation about this hotel. OMGosh, if the GM does what he says he's going to do (and remain as the GM), the hotel, the bar (to be named after his brother) will be spectacular! The designer on the show did an AWESOME job with the rooms - glorious! The lobby and the bar will be just too cool! And the staff that work there are dedicated...I hope it works out for all of them too! The maintenance man knows his stuff - he needs a promotion! We stayed here for a week during Speedweeks and the 500. The pricing, I think, was pretty reasonable, but I would have gladly paid more for a nicer place to stay. First off, the restaurant, and the Rooftop bar were closed. The rooftop bar had an event that was closed to the public-we understood that. We never did know why no food was available for purchase-when we asked we were just informed they were not serving food. The rooms were very small, putting our clothes in the dresser drawers made them smell horrible. The shower is only half enclosed, so showering made water get all over the floor. We had to ask for new towels several times before we got them. No vent fan in the bathroom, so it always felt damp, and wasn't very clean. The upsides were the front desk staff in the afternoon was great, the young lady who took care of housekeeping was very kind, and the beds were comfortable. We won't choose to stay here the next time we're in town. read more

How interesting to find this small gem in Daytona. Yes it it across from the beach but only steps away. The views are breathtaking from the roof top bar. My room 402 the view was surprisingly beautiful. I consider this a primeraly adult hotel. Its nice not to have little kids underfoot. I have been here alone e and with my hubby either way is relaxing and fun. The bloody Mary's are delicious. Only draw back is you have to order food downstairs and bring it to the roof top. My suggestion ,lose the kids for a couple of days and remind yourselves what it's like to to cut loose again. Classy and relaxed. read more

Went on Tues night around 7:00 for drinks with 5 others. We started to head up to the rooftop and we're informed that there was no service there, have to order drinks downstairs and carry them up. Two bartenders on, one competent, one definitely not. Unfortunately my wife and I drew the bad one. First request of painkillers was met by a blank look. Okay, margarita for me, rum punch for her. Both close to undrinkable. Worst cocktail I've had anywhere. But, to keep things going, we took them. The seating on the roof is comfortable, and we had a good time, just short $20 plus tip. I just stayed at this hotel. The web makes this hotel look much nicer that it is. Rooms are small, under equipped and smell bad. Hotel is understated and undertrained. They screwed up my reservation and put me in a lower level room with no windows. The rooftop bar was sold to an outside group so when we arrived at the hotel after dinner there was no parking for hotel guest and when we finally parked we were accosted by a bouncer at the front door asking for our is to enter the hotel were we were paying for our room. We never received maid service and at one point we requested a hair dryer and was told by front desk that she was alone and too busy to bring us one. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Great little hotel! My wife randomly found this hotel online for a quick weekend getaway. As others have reviewed, the outside of this hotel has a clean Art Deco look with a couple of modern twists. I was impressed on my wife's choice already. The lobby was fresh and clean. Working in the bar business for many years in my youth has engrained the smell of "bar rot" into my brain. I have been know to walk out of very nice restaurants and bars because of that smell. The bar in the lobby was spotless and clean. A huge plus for me. More on the food and bar later. We checked in and went to our room. Our room was extremely clean and fresh. There was a mini fridge, clean comfortable beds, and the bathroom was spotless with new modern fixtures. Probably one of the nicest hotel rooms we had stayed in over the past few years. We headed to the rooftop bar. Like everything else in the hotel, the bar was clean and modern looking. There was obviously a lot of time a detail when designing this bar down to the original vault used when the building was originally built. The bar back bar custom built to give a "streamline" look and feel of the original late 1940's NASCAR race cars. I didn't mention the NASCAR actually began at this bar in 1948 and the entire hotel from fixtures to the pictures maintains this theme. Also, the bars have a signature cocktail menu with drinks all containing moonshine paying homage to the bootleggers of days past and its roots to stock cars. The view from the bar and the surrounding rooftop was fantastic. We actually timed it perfectly so that we were able to watch one of the SpaceX rockets launch from Cape Canaveral. We headed down to the downstairs bar to grab a bite to eat. The food was very reasonably priced and excellent. I highly recommend the tuna. The staff from the front desk, housekeeping, and bar staff were very personable yet professional. The bar staff and bar manager were great. We watched our beloved Tampa Bay Lightning play on the TV while drinking with a group of Dutch bikers who were about to begin a week long tour of Florida. Very random, but a good time. The following night was the hotel's one year anniversary white party. They had quite a spread and good music. We had a good time hanging out with the founders of NASCAR and friends. The hotel has added a nice pool which has a lift to make it handicap accessible. I have no affiliation with this hotel and am not a huge NASCAR fan. This is just a great little hotel. This is a well priced clean hidden gem. This is not your spring break 6 people go a room Daytona hotel. We will definitely spread the word and we will return. I just moved to the Daytona area for work and decided to check out the local gay bar offerings on a Friday night. It took a while reading online to realize that Savoy Daytona had closed and Streamline is literally the only consistent gay bar (although I was told another place "goes gay" on Thursday nights). Now don't get me wrong...I normally love a dive bar, but Streamline was just scary. The first floor bar is adjacent to a tiny hallway of rooms I guess you rent for the night. I wouldn't dare. The rooftop was fairly nice and I'm sure the view during the daytime is great. I will say this: the clientele were friendly...maybe a bit too friendly. My looks are about average but I felt like prime meat. Less than 5 minutes after sitting down, I was being talked up hardcore by a much older man. There was some guy in the corner staring at me so fiercely and unflinchingly that I became uncomfortable and left after 25 minutes. Overall the place comes across as old and run down, as some other reviewers have said. I will be perfectly content to never go there again. I have friends closer to Orlando and I'll go out there if I ever want to be around other gay guys. read more

We went to check out the place at the end of April and as others have said, the views are amazing and we went to the downstairs bar and Nate and Sydney made excellent drinks & we had a wonderful app. We noticed advertisements for the 2 year anniversary "White Party" on May 10th. Invited some friends, so all in white, we went. Sydney was there again but what a change, taking our orders, she had a hard time writing everything. Our drinks were not the same same & she forgot to write down one of our apps. Our food was very good but the manager never came out of the kitchen, missed her. I also gave Sydney a drink coupon (free) the hotel clerk gave me earlier & she looked and it and said, don't think we accept these anymore--yikes. Told her who just gave it to me, she didn't like that. Her tip reflected the service. Nate was up in the roof bar and provided excellent service. There were other things that night and our friends noticed it and have said will never go back. We understand why. read more

Went there tonight with two of my closest friends for the first time ever. We attended the rooftop bar and were rightfully ID'd by the bartender upon ordering our drinks. My friend and I even joked about enjoying getting ID'd as we are reaching our late 20's. Anyway, after our ID's are checked and our age is confirmed, we find a quiet table outside to sit at. After sitting quietly for about 20 minutes, minding our business (it was literally a table in a corner where no one else was), a security guy (apparently he wasn't a "bouncer") approaches us and demands our ID's. Demands, not asks. We are aged 25, 26 and 22, and our 22 year old friend does look young, so I understand the suspicion somewhat, however we were already ID'd by the bartender and he asked very abruptly and to be honest, very rudely (and out of absolutely nowhere). So we gather our ID's and present them, but when I began to question him as to why we were being questioned and treated like unwelcome, underage delinquents, he got extremely defensive, told me we could leave, and THREW my ID back at me. So I respond that we are glad to leave, it was our first time and honestly not impressive, and I'd be happy to comply. We begin to walk toward the exit and he stops at the elevator and suddenly commands me to get in. The capacity of the elevator was only 6 people and there were already 3 people in there. He wanted myself, my two friends and I'm assuming himself to get in there. I informed him that I didn't feel comfortable getting in the elevator and wanted to take the stairs and he replies by telling me that I needed to get in the elevator regardless of how I felt. I asked if he was actually trying to FORCE me into the elevator and he replied with "I can do whatever I want to do." I responded by walking away from him and taking the stairs, because he absolutely could NOT contrary to his personal belief. After we voluntarily left without an issue I called and asked for his name and was informed that they didn't know, as it was his first night. What a shame that I will never return again to a venue that was otherwise somewhat decent because of the way a 12 hour old employee treated my friends and I, but unfortunately that was the turn of events. I will never return to somewhere that I felt unwelcome and unwanted. read more

Here's a honest review of Streamline Hotel. This has to be the filthiest place I've ever stayed. It's infested with roaches, rooms are disgusting, cigarette ashes in window sills, drawers and all over carpet, burn holes in comforters along with other various stains. Bathroom tiles are molded along with tub stains. Our room had a broken window and the shattered glass was never removed even after notifying management. Unfinished drugs in the nightstand were also present. Water pressure changes if anyone in the hotel is running water. We ran out of hot water while showering. It's old, nasty and in need of a complete overhaul! read more
