We had the Porchetta and Cubano sandwiches, my son and I shared them and both were equally delicious for various reasons. The Porchetta heavily relied on the pork and the sear, seasoning and proper cooking of the meat. It pulled apart easily, had a nice thin crust on it and was plenty tender while also juicy. The arugula was a good balance and helped keep the cheese in place. The bread was perfectly toasted and crusty but absolutely fresh like a good hoagie should be. The Cubano had seasonings ON the panini pressed bread that were on point with the rest of the flavor profile of the sandwich. The balance between the mustard, pickles, and seasoned bread accentuated the meat instead of covering it up. Unfortunately, we must have gone on an "off day" with lack of service-a lot of waiting once seated) Couldn't find waitress when we needed something and for paying the bill etc. The food was not its usual deliciousness. The tortilla chips stale (new ones cooked for us), Falafel wrap stale and falafel balls hard. Requested crispy fries, they were limp. Our bill for 3 meals, 1 app and 4 ice teas was $93. Before tipping. None of us realized or were reminded that french fries were additional 6.50 to our sandwiches. Many restaurants have sandwiches which come with fries so we unfortunately presumed this when asked what side we wanted. Ice teas were $4 each-no free refills which also seemed high. First time visit to this location. And will be our last. Food took 50min from when we ordered to when it came out. And my dish was lukewarm (noodle bowl) and the other dish was warm but not hot as it should be. The service was not great either. After 30+ min the server apologized for the but offered nothing for us while we waited. So the food finally arrived and the kitchen staff "thank you for your patience" in a very aggressive and kinda annoying tone. In the end I had expected some of the meal to be discounted. But no. Atmosphere quiet, but boring compared to Portsmouth. The best thing on my plate was fries. We had burger with curry fries. And Cemita with regular fries. Burger was fine. Curry on the fries was slathered not drizzled. The curry ketchup was sweet, off putting. It tasted nothing like curry ketchup. Grilled chicken on cemita tasted like they cleaned the dirty grill with it. Greasy, dirty, No salt or pepper. Side of shrimp, no seasoning either. Pickled onions were good and Advocado was fresh. We used to eat here when it was Blue Moon? Moved to California 20 years ago, but come back all the time. We totally miss Andy Ulery and the Loaf and Ladle every time we come to Exeter! Street was a lot of fun in Exeter. The premise - street food from around the world - really caught my eye. Could it live up to my hopes? First of all the place was jumping on a weeknight, always a good sign. The Maine Lunch on tap does not hurt at all. Service was great. However the food is where Street stood out to me. My bim bap with Korean beef was very good. We enjoyed the yuca fries, always a favorite of mine. If I am back in the area I would love to check out how they approach a Schawarma. I have never had a meal at Street I enjoyed. I think you need to have a stomach for grease and mayo to enjoy, that's just not me. I love the ambiance and location but can't seem to find good a dish They seem to take my favorite foreign dishes and reinvent them without disclaimer. Although beautifully presented, the bibimbap tasted completely unfamiliar, and that's not a good thing. The recipe was simply weird. I tried their empanadas and was disappointed in the amount of grease that seeped out from each bite. They were quite overpriced as well at $12 for two tiny pieces. They make a Banh Mi that is also untraditional and is served with Chipotle mayo. Not good! I love the decor and the drink selection is quite unusual. However they average over $14. The beers are also priced far beyond what I consider reasonable for that establishment. read more

We ended up trying this place since it was a little late and the restaurant we originally planned on closed unexpectedly early. That was fortunate, because we had an excellent dinner here! I got the half-size Mexicali Bowl with pork, which was delicious -- it was pulled pork, and really tender and juicy. Plenty of veggies and beans in there as well. Prices tend to be fairly high here, but the half-size Mexicali Bowl is very reasonably priced, and still a decent portion. My wife got the pozole, which she enjoyed, but it was a bit too spicy for her. Atmosphere is festive, and there's a lot of seating (including an outdoor patio). The eggs came in a literal pool of oil. I had to use my napkin to mop it up. The sausage was so overcooked and oily it tasted like a hockey puck. The fries were some of the worst I've had in years. They tried to make up for the poor cook on the fries by salting them to the point where they're hardly edible. After putting my oily eggs on a paper napkin they were sort of edible. The unique interior art and eccletic menu is long on quality items to try. It is a much needed quality sit down lunch place since The Green Bean closed. read more

First visit I learned the hard way that Street doesn't offer take-out. That's fine with me, but nowhere in the Street Web site did I see this noted. (There is a Yelp tag saying no takeout, I found just now.) Too bad because I walked in set to place a fairly large order. That's OK if Street feels take-out isn't happening (for whatever reason.) But I think it is unexpected of a casual restaurant in this COVID-ridden era. Anyway, I'll give Street three stars because I don't want to put you off the food for no good reason and I did find some appeal in the dark interior decor. Looked to me at a glance while standing at the host station like Neo-Fun House style. One aside. Felt for a moment like Bobby Dupea (Jack Nicholson) in Five Easy Pieces when he tries to order the omelette and the waitress refuses any substitutions. "I don't make the rules," the waitress says in that scene. So I asked the greeter, "Is there any possible way I could get food to go?" Reply: We don't do that. You have to be seated. So I asked, "What if I sit at the bar, order a drink and food and when the food arrives we put it all in a doggie bag and I take it home? My wife is starving." We don't do that, he said again. "It's just not our policy." So wife got Las Olas nachos instead. "Funny, this Street has food just like the Mexican place," she said. read more

Made it in for soft-opening day two, and the place was already packed with a 45-minute wait! Think Exeter was ready and waiting for this?? Greeted by a super-friendly host, got seated sooner than expected. Fired things up with a Shipwrecked, which exceeded expectations in taste and presentation. Ordered a Cubano with curry fries, and soaked in the hopping atmosphere. The place is a little noisy, to be honest, which some people think makes a place more lively, but having to shout to be heard won't fly long-term in this town; some sound-baffling on the bright, freshly painted walls and ceiling would be a cool addition. As a big fan of the Portsmouth location, I'm thrilled to have this place in my home town. (Can't wait to try the Bibimbap here next time I'm in! One of my fave unique dishes in the entire Seacoast.) I was very sad to see the amazing Blue Moon Evolution disappear, but so happy to see these fun flavors and all these smiling faces filling the space. It's really more like 3.5 but not quite 4. We strolled around Exeter and decided to give this place a try. Don't let the hideous burger hanging off the outside of the building deter you because the food was tasty. We found the menu an overwhelming hodgepodge of ethnic cuisine. It was difficult to make a choice and so annoying that additions were so expensive! Add some chicken and Avacado to your falafel and you've gone from $14 to $23. Add some fries and your meal is now almost $30! Our service was not bad but also nothing to rave about. Our wait time was longer than expected. When our food finally came, it was delicious. If the review was just for the food, it would be 5 stars. The Cemita burger was delicious and the falafel was huge. We did not upgrade to fries $$ but the tortilla style chips were nice and salty. Popped in for Lunch and ordered some apps and salads. The service was prompt and the waiter was good. While not attending his patrons he was constantly prepping the restaurant. He was able to give good reposado tequila advice too. The apps were served quickly and hot, temperature-wise. The yucca fries ($8) were crazy good and consistent. The cilantro lime sauce was ok in my book but my girl Shan loved it. I thought it was similar to Mayo. The Gobi app ($13?) was good. The cauliflower was breaded and fried well and then covered in a sweet and sticky glaze, served with Ranch dressing. I preferred the yucca fries but Shannon liked the Cauliflower more. Next were cobb salads, the portion is very large. Its hard to find mammoth salads as nearly every restaurant seems to have switched plating methods or portions sizes to shrink salad sizes, but thats not the case at Streets. The cobb is loaded with lettuce and is topped with bacon. Tomatoes. Avocado. Feta. Artichoke hearts. Boiled egg. chopped almonds. and a tiny dressing. I wish i asked to add onions and cukes. The homemade balsamic dressing is delicious and creamy. The ranch is good too. Shannon added shrimp to her salad and that consisted of what looked like 5-6 shrimps cut in half on the salad. The restaurant looked intriguing so we checked out the menu ahead of time. All the items on the menu were so unique so we decided to try something new. We got the Bibimbap with Korean beef and Vietnamese chicken. It was absolutely delicious. It came warm to the table in a skillet and everything was so flavorful and I think my favorite part was the Korean beef and the sticky rice which was chewy and crunchy. Lots of vegetables. We couldn't finish it all so we took half of it home. We decided to share the key lime tart. It was just as tasty with homemade crust, whipped cream and yummy, creamy, tart key lime. Having been to their location in Portsmouth, we were excited to try their Exeter location. The food was great! Service was not as wonderful. The waiter forgot one of the orders so 5 of us were eating while the other one watched. The waiter never came back to check on us or see if we needed more drinks. He never offered us dessert and we had to flag down the hostess, who was on her phone, to pay our bill. I would understand this better if they were busy but we were one of two tables occupied. Went with a friend on a whim. She had been to other location before and I was willing to try some place new. We got drinks. The menu looked interesting. The dirty martini ($17 plus $5 for grey goose) my friend had stated good, yet they did not bring ice over. Instead they just placed some olive juice in a cup of ice and brought that over. Which as charging a pricey amount for the drink really should of been redone and given the ice for the correct effect.I went off the recommendation of the bartender. I ordered the bloodmoon drink ($13)and it was far to sweet for my taste buds. I than just ordered an Allagash beer. Dinner, I ordered the Bibimbap with chicken instead I got Korean beef ($22 plus $2) . I don't eat meat and sadly the waiter did not come back till end of meal. My friend got Mexicali bowl with chicken ($16 plus $5) When the waiter who was also the bartender came back over to the table, he said he felt bad about it. Yet, it could of been corrected IF he came over after we received the meal. I just got it to go. The manager didn't even come over to apologize? My kid enjoyed it as a take home meal stated it was overdone yet had potential. Though I am locally, for the price point I expect more, with the challenging parking (limited, one would have to park further away or "street" parking), lack of service, the issues we encountered I'd rather go elsewhere. read more
