When deciding for a shop to get repairs done I look for qualities like honesty fairness and diligence. Next gear and their staff is exactly this type of shop. The backstory to my visit here is I had purchased a used M6 from a dealership with a limited warranty. After a few ppis at previous shops a few issues were uncovered: one of which was a vc gasket leak on the drivers side cylinder bank that needed to be addressed. Naturally i figured I should have the other side done as well (for labor overlap to cheapen my out of pocket costs) so I asked to be quoted for the the full job and to my surprise the shop before next gear wrote up an invoice for same amount of labor for two separate repairs. This was outrageous! I refused to have the repairs done at that shop and luckily I was able to stumble across next gear in a google search so I gave them a call. The person to pick up was their tech Jonathan who spent a great deal with me on the phone as I explained the situation. Although their rates aren't the absolute cheapest(you pay for quality work) he gave me an honest quote on the amount of labor it would take to do both sides which was significantly cheaper than the other shop. I called 3 other places which had either refused to do the repair or gave me a bogus explanation on why it would take an additional 10 hours to do the second side. That alone won my business so I drove 50 min away to have it done at next gear. A few days later Jonathan calls me back to let me know he was able to have the other side covered under the warranty as well! This speaks to the conscientiousness of next gear's staff and their willingness to go above and beyond to make sure their customers get the proper service with as little cost as possible. How is it that the previous other shops could not do the same is beyond me. A later visit with them found a few other issues here and there which also saved me even more thousands of dollars down the road that would have needed to be addressed! I waited a few months to really give myself enough time behind the wheel to truly enjoy and test the vehicle out after all the work and needless to say she's driving like a brand new vehicle thanks to the outstanding work from Jonathan and the rest of the team there at next gear! Why go to a dealership if you can get the same quality of work (a few if not all of them were former bmw techs) without the egregious labor mark up? Don't. Come here instead! I noticed something wrong with my car. I wasn't getting any power when I accelerated.
