if i could give 0 stars. i would give this place 0 stars. for starters, i was kicked out of the bar after using the bathroom with no explanation. they wouldn't let me grab my belongings or anything. WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION. all i did was literally go to the bathroom and leave. i was chased down by a "security officer" and forced to leave. it's the middle of December, and i was forced to leave the bar without my coat and without an explanation. if you want to go to a bar & be kicked out for using the bathroom, then this place is for you! i would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Dennis is absolutely awesome! He is the best bouncer that works at this bar! He should be promoted, he is the kindest, most genuine person. The drinks food and atmosphere are great but more importantly the staff (Dennis)! Honestly this is the best place to go on a Wednesday. Nice busy bar. Great TV setup for a long narrow place. Tap beer selection is a bit limited. Sliders with blue cheese, bacon, and onions are absolutely awesome. Every staff person I met was friendly and helpful, which on a busy nice is amazing. That service and the food are what makes it a 4-star place. read more

I was sad to see Tryst go, but this place interested me after reviewing the menu. I came here with a small group of friends for dinner on a Wednesday night. All of the burgers were $5. I don't remember the drink specials. We had mac n cheese fritters which were divine and the crab and roasted artichoke dip. Yum! I had the Waveland Ave burger (Jack Daniels chipotle sauce, smoked Gouda, lettuce, tomato) and chili lime fries. It was incredible! I can't wait to go back for it. the stretch is still rockin and seems to be doing well. we stopped in here on yet another impromtu clark street barcrawl. crowded but not packed on a saturday night in november. drink prices are standard, music is still good. only complaint was a SUPER ridiculous bartender who kept changing drink prices (not for the better) on my brother and his friend. she may have figured out that this was their first chicago bar-going experience. not cool to screw with the kids, sister!!! read more

Went here for my Birthday over the summer and was able to get a table reserved for me and my friends. Nice bar, place was packed and had good music. Ordered some buckets of beer for the table. I fell out of love of drinking shots until I met something called a shotski. A shot ski is exactly as it sounds and it's awesome! Four shot glasses welded to a ski, so much fun (and good picture fun too) Their drink worth recommending is the sweet tea lemonade in the Ball jars. I will never come back to this bar. While I was getting a drink I was next to a guy who didn't have his shirt on. I then asked "where did your shirt go?" He then proceeded to moon me. I was later told that he was the owner of the bar. I felt disgusted and wanted to get my money back. If you want to have a bad night make sure you visit this bar while the owner is there. I like this bar a lot - good atmosphere. Came here for lunch with my friend Christy on Friday before the cubs game. Our waitress was so attentive and very nice. She was always checking on us, but not in an annoying way. The bloody mary was really good - it has a pickle AND olives in it. I was super excited about that! The chopped salad (minus chicken and bacon) was really good. I enjoyed every bite. My only request would be to reduce the price of the salad for those that don't eat meat. I wanted to order the Wedge salad, but they no longer have it in the kitchen although it's on the menu. The chopped salad is $11 with the meat and I was still charged that. read more

Decided to stop by here one day for lunch. We ended up ordering the sliders and enjoyed all of them immensely, especially the one with the Jameson/Chipotle BBQ. That sauce is just amazing. We also had the BBQ chicken salad which has that same sauce as a dressing. We couldn't get enough of that sauce. The Mac and cheese fritters sounded amazing and we plan on getting those next time we are in there. We went on an off hour so they weren't very busy, but the service was very friendly and attentive. Plan on going again soon and trying the Cortland Street burger since it did win at BurgerFest. read more

The staff here was great! They were really busy but still manged to provide great service. Some reps from crown royal were there and bought a shot for everyone at the bar, so that was good too. The food was good, a little pricey but nothing special. read more

Went here on a Saturday with friends for drinks and food. After accidentally spilling some mustard we were kicked out by the manager wearing a dumb Puma shirt. Obviously, it's in their right to kick us out. But after getting outside my friend realized that he left his wallet inside. They would not let any of us in to get the wallet and would not grab it for us. Then we couldn't get into any other bars because my friend did not have his ID. Thus forcing us to go home and essentially ruining our night. There's lots of great bars and restaurants on Clark St, go somewhere else. read more

This is a great place to come during a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday cubs game. Stays busy, has a good crowd, and of course the drinks serves in Mason jars are the best. My favorite is the Long Island iced tea. Have always had kind waitresses and a blast in the party atmosphere. It's not overwhelming, but just the right amount of fun. Best happy hour deal in Wrigley!! On non game day Fridays, they have a $20 happy hour that includes all you can drink well drinks and domestics from 5-9 and any appetizer off the menu. I've been a couple times with different groups of friends and everyone says the same thing - great deal, yummy apps and good atmosphere. It also isn't very crowded during the happy hour and we've always easily gotten a table. I don't usually go to The Stretch on weekends since the line tends to be out the door and the bar gets super crowded. read more

This real estate went through multiple name changes a few years back- but it stopped with The Stretch. This bar is fun, the music is usually good, and the drinks are flowing. Sometimes you will find sloppy drunks here but over all it is a pretty good crowd and the staff is good at keeping people under control. This is one bar that had continual business even when it is not Cubs season. Great burger selection. Lots of TVs to watch the games. It is a Michigan State bar so it is always busy when they have important games going on. read more

this place had about the rudest door man I've encountered in Chicago. I was in a group of 5 people (3 girls, 2 guys). He makes us wait outside in the cold claiming they were at max capacity when we could see there was clearly tons room. He lets in multiple people who cut the line (not all hot women, men as well) and says nothing to us while we stand there freezing. He states he will let us in when a group leaves: a group of EIGHT people leave and he lets in 1 person from our group. another FIVE people leave and he says he can only take 3 more people. He stated if we weren't happy we could just leave (after we waited for 15 min already). He was beyond an a**hole and completely ruined our experience. read more

Stretch is typically home to the quintessential Wrigley Crowd. Drunk, loud, ridiculous but fun people. If you choose to go to Stretch on a Friday or Saturday night, any time the Cubs play at home, or during college football games, it will be packed and loud. I choose not to review this Stretch. To me, Stretch is something different. For those who prefer a great deal without sacrificing quality, this review caters to you. In my mind, there is no reason to ever go to Stretch except for burger night on Wednesdays. This is a deal to plan your evening around. One glorious night a week, Stretch serves burgers that almost gives Kuma's a run for their money in terms of deliciousness. Tack on that you'll sit immediately, eat within 30 minutes, and pay half of the price, and it kicks Kuma's overly tattooed ass. For $5, you have your choice of every burger on the menu. My standby's are the meaty burgers covered in more meat like pulled-pork or steak. That's right. Steak is a TOPPING at Stretch. Somewhere, Ron Swanson just fastened a bib. The service is ok. One of the Stretch waitresses is always cheery and on her game, the rest are forgettable. But the burger isn't. For those who argue Kuma's is the best in the city, I agree. But Stretch won't make you wait, will save you some time and money, and you'll still eat more burger than you should. Unless you're actually Ron Swanson. read more

Favorite bar in Wrigleyville. Crowd skews a little bit older then college, which is good because a lot of rookies get weeded out. Good deals throughout the week, and even without those deals totally affordable. Food's really good too, go for the Wrigleyville burger or the 2nd Base wrap.
