Two factory-installed tires failed within two weeks of their alignment. 2024 Honda Passport Black Edition, factory Continental tires, low miles. We brought it in for alignment/rotation. Within two weeks of their work, the tread on BOTH rear tires separated from the belts. Was it their fault? The answer seems obvious--judge for yourself: * Timing + duplication = common cause. Two identical failures, on the same vehicle, right after one service event, point to (1) a shared condition introduced, or (2) factory-installed tires that were already failing and weren't detected during an alignment/rotation. The odds of both tires--less than halfway through their usable life--failing identically by chance at the same time are astronomical. Not detecting failing tires during an alignment/rotation is gross incompetence. Either would be a case of Stroeher's dropping the ball--with potentially deadly consequences. * They controlled the risk factors. The service manager (Lane) insisted "nothing we did could have caused it." During alignment/rotation a shop sets tire pressures, handles mounting/beads, torques lugs, and evaluates tire condition. Errors in any of those can lead to overheating/over-deflection, which can result in tread/belt separation (per NTSB and USTMA). So it appears Lane is either unqualified to do his job, or he was lying. * Duty of care--breached. They returned the car still misaligned after charging for alignment, then brushed off concerns. When I said I was unhappy with the original alignment, Lane handed me the keys and said, "If you aren't happy with our service, you should take it somewhere else." No investigation, no documentation, no concern. Bottom line: reckless indifference to customer safety and an abject refusal to take accountability. And I get an alignment that didn't fully align the car and ended up costing me over $700. read more

This place sucks. Was in the middle of a 300 mile drive. My back tires were going low. They were installed 3 days earlier back in my hometown Valve stems were leaking. It was Saturday. The reason you aren't getting a lower rating is because Gus was so helpful and while you didn't have what we needed, Gus was pleasant to deal with. The person who initially answered the phone, Becky I think, was less than helpful and somewhat snarky on the phone. We had to drive back to Houston and as we were leaving our AirBnB we saw the low tire light come on in the car. Luckily for us as we were driving to find a gas station to air up our tires we found Stroeher and saw the Goodyear sign. Figured we should have a professional take a look. We are fulltime RV'ers, and need tires on both our Dodge Ram as well as our Keystone Avalanche 5th wheel. We Googled Tire dealers near Fredicksburg TX and really lucked out finding Stroeher & Olfers. When we called we talked to Gus, who is very imformative,, explained different tires and the pro and cons of each. We settled on Michelin for the truck and Hercules all steel belted for the 5th wheel. Gus made appoints for us, about 2 weeks apart for each vehicle, we took the truck in first, they immediately took our truck in, mounted and balanced all 5 tires with no problems. We're very happy with the service and the tires. Then on March 24th we brought our 5th wheel, in Ryan was the Technician, we also had the wheel bearings repacked, and 5 new Hercules tires mounted and balanced while we waited. Service was on point, really excellent. We could really tell the difference pulling the trailer. Ryan explained everything he did and why he did it, Very helpful. We got a screw stuck in our tire and had to get it fixed last minute while only in Fredericksburg overnight. We found Stroeher & Son on Yelp. I am new to Fredericksburg and was looking for a good place to take my truck for routine service. My first introduction involved taking my truck there because I had purchased a brake controller on-line for my camper, but then could not find the receptacle to plug it into. Stroeher said bring the truck in and they would at least take a look at it - they looked at it as soon as I brought it in, and after five minutes of fiddling, the tech found the very-well-hidden receptacle and plugged in the cable. When I asked how much they would charge, the mechanic just smiled and said "Hey, bring your truck back here for service" - you can bet that I will do just that! Gus and the team here provided outstanding customer service. We arrived into town Labor Day weekend with a tire going flat 30 minutes before the station was going to close. We called the business and spoke with Becky who was happy to come get us if we couldn't drive the car or provide directions. Arrived a few minutes prior to closing and Gus was more than happy to help. He special ordered a tire, which arrived the next morning. Gus called us as soon as it arrived. We dropped the car, he replaced the tire and kept the car safe all day so we could still enjoy our day out wine tasting. We were overly impressed from the first interaction with everyone. Wow! I just have to comment on how nice the people here are. People who work here are so helpful and customer service oriented.

While on a trip five hours away from our home, we experienced car trouble. We went in on a busy Saturday morning and Danny quickly helped us. He rode along in the truck with us to feel the vibrating we were concerned about and once back to the shop, immediately took it back and diagnosed the issue. We also had a sensor warning pop up and questioned him about that too. Within ten minutes another employee, Gus came to get us and explained Danny had found the problem. Danny drove it one more time to make sure the issue had improved while Gus explained the problem. They both walked us outside, explained and even had my husband look under the truck to show him exactly what the cause of the vibrating was. In all, they test drove it twice, reset the tire sensor, made sure the tire pressure was at the appropriate amount and did it all with great customer service. To top it off, when we asked how much we owed, Danny told us it was no charge. They saved our trip and I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area! read more
