Just used these guys yesterday. They were incredible with the speed of their work. My wife is pregnant and I have a severe injury so we needed help with our move. We're both so glad we picked Strongmile Movers. They loaded up our two bedroom apartment, drove an hour to our new location and unloaded it with a time of three hours total. I was in the military and moved a lot. It'd take movers 4-6 hours just to pack up my one bedroom apartment in the past. These guys loaded and unloaded everything in 3 hours total. They never complained either. We moved into a 3-story townhouse and they got everything up the stairs flawlessly. Bottom line, these guys were cheap, quick and efficient. If I could give one star I would. My parents hired them to move some things to storage. Two out of the three were respectful the third was awful. Please be aware they DO NOT wear masks. When asked politely they declined and stated its rge owners policy. That is fine with me and could have ended there. I called the office and since it was a weekend it was closed. Now when I asked the third man if there was another number he brushed me off stating don't know I only work weekends. I stated ok I'll ask other one, it's not personal but especially since you only work weekends it's why I feel strongly about masks. He then proceeded to tell me I was hypocritical bc in my own house in a diff room I wasn't wearing a mask- I know where I've been and my house it's the Movers that need to be careful and respectful. They didn't wear gloves masks or use hand sanitizer. As a moving business I find this incredibly reckless , I was calm and polite I don't need to be spoken down to and ridiculed in my own home. As a business during Covid going to multiple houses a day, it's VERY unsafe to not wear masks I could have ended when they said it was the owner and I left a message for owner, instead it was escalated as the other one kept going on **they state their reason is bc they are moving heavy things/carrying, I am a nurse I lift heavy patients often. I also live in nyc where all movers wear masks going up and down walk ups with heavy furniture, many times it's up to costumer about wearing masks. People run and work out in mask. But you can move furniture a few feet to the driveway bc you feel like you can't breathe? Oh and btw: you don't lose oxygen wearing one .... please read and educate yourself. read more

I can't say enough about Joe and his team. Joe will walk you through the entire process and all costs, nothing hidden or unreasonable, no surprises. His communication is great-Joe called me the business day before my move & told me the names of the movers who would be working with me including the team leader for my move. The team called me to let me know when they were on their way, and were actually a little early to get started. They were careful, professional, fast, efficient, REALLY knew what they were doing! They unassembled and reassembled a few pieces for transport, including a king-size bed. I had two large flat screen TVs and a vintage mirror, and when I saw how well they wrapped and packed them I knew they would be just fine, and they were. When I had a delay getting access to the house, the whole team was great, starting with the garage items and waiting with me while I got resolution to the access issue. NOTE: the wait time was part of the final cost which I expected-you pay a fair rate by time (hourly rate), no one's time is free. Moving is stressful. Joe is a true professional in this field - he called the day my reservation was sent in and asked me for details about the move. I had to move a bedroom set and some couches to my new apartment about 30 minutes away. I reached out to a couple of companies for quotes, but Joe got back to me right away. From there it was a breeze. He laid out what had to be done, costs and how Strongmile works. We spoke a couple times about what needed to be done before and on the day of the move. On the day of the move, I met Rob and Chase at the U-Haul rental office. From there, they drove the truck and the house was emptied out very quickly including a very large 3-person couch that I had struggled to get out of the basement. These guys were great! Moving isn't easy, but Strongmile made it seem like it was. After entering information on their website they called me with a quote. They emailed the quote as well. Once I booked with them I got an email with thorough packing instructions/suggestions. I received a confirmation call the day before the move as well. The guys doing the move were prompt, professional and savvy. These weren't guys picked off the street. These guys would lift 2 boxes at a time on their back! They didn't waste time either. There were complications with my closing date, so I couldn't decide to go with a mover until two days before the move-in date. I was honestly expecting responses like "Sorry you will need to arrange an appointment in x days advance" . To my pleasant surprise, Joe told me he would do his best to gather his folks, went over details of his business model, and walked me through the details of my preparation. He also gave me a low down on the cost and how Strongmile charges, so no surprise. That evening, he got me the team. Two days later, Adam and his team showed up at the agreed Uhaul location EXACTLY on time. In addition, instead of the agreed team of two, three men arrived. They were friendly and very nice, but the best part was the actual loading. These guys were hella fast!!! I left couple boxes unsealed and my computer intact, thinking I could finish them up while the Strongmile team disassemble my furniture. Wrong~! I almost couldn't keep up. I felt like I was dragging the whole process (so yes guys, please pack everything unless you think you can out-move them). The team also advised on items that could go into the truck and ones that should go into my car, and was very considerate of my stuff. The whole trip was smooth, and the unloading was equally fast. At the end there were no surprise on the fee. Everything was exactly how Joe told me. I had a great moving experience, and yes, I will work with Strongmile again, and highly recommend them. Honestly, from start to finish, these guys were exceptional. Extremely hardworking, professional, conscientious, and as a pleasant bonus - very friendly. Our move ended up taking longer than expected due to issues w the truck rental company, and the team rallied without complaint. We called Strongmile to assist with unloading our moving truck in NJ once we arrived from Florida. Most places we had called quoted $500-600 for the same service, we were told around $280 (including taxes)with Strongmile. With as much money as we were spending on moving here, we could not afford the other companies, and honestly there is no way those other companies could have done as great of a job as the Strongmile guys did. What would have taken my husband and myself 3-4hrs, they did in 30-40 min of the 2hr minimum. The guys were so kind and mindful of our belongings and even went the extra mile to help us assemble the furniture. We used Strongmile for our recent apartment move in Jersey City. For background, my wife and I have moved for my job 6 times in the last 10 years. We've moved locally in state, from NJ to NC, houses to apartments, ect. We both agree that this was by far the best and least stressful move we've ever done. Strongmile was fairly priced, efficient, polite, quick and most of all, careful with our belongings. Have to admit when my wife explained how it worked (much different than traditional movers) I was skeptical. However, after our experience they are the only movers I would use going forward. Not impressed at all. They sent 3 guys, only one of them worked hard. One had a cold and took a lot of breaks for smoking. We covered some of our stuff in plastic wrap and expected them to do the rest, but they didn't, even though we provided the material. Some of the furniture was damaged because it was not protected properly. We had a much better experience with the movers in California. Another thing: they charged us taxes on top of the price quoted, only for work, not for materials. read more

Latest update. 8/4/14 I am updating my review to reflect fives stars for Joseph's (the owner) customer service. He personally reached out to me to ask what his company could do to earn an excellent rating, and I gave him my feedback. The important take away is that the clock starts at the Uhaul store (for pickup) and ends at the Uhaul store (for dropoff) if the customer chooses that option. If you want to save time/money, it is better for the customer to pickup and dropoff the truck themselves. My original review and comments are unedited below. ----------- Four stars for quality of the moving work. Three stars for value. Let me explain. I had two movers (Rob and Dave) who showed up 20 minutes late due to traffic. I rented a 17 foot Uhaul truck in my name. They were good workers who did exactly as I asked them. They were very professional and courteous. I had a 1BR which they loaded into 17 foot UHaul, drive within complex (two minute walk) and unload. I had elevators both ways. Everything was pretty much packed. They disassembled the top off my dining table and put my queen mattresses in plastic bags. In my opinion, this company is expensive, but you do get dependable, professional workers. For example, I had a $60 travel fee (first time ever hearing of this). Be clear as to when they start the clock. By my clock they started moving (after parking the moving truck) at 3:15 but they had a start time of 3PM (never confirmed to me). Rob confirmed with me a finish time of 7:10PM. So I was working with a four hour job, but by their clock it was 4 hours and 10 minutes so they rounded up to 4.5 hours. A bit of fuzzy math. And then there is tipping on top of this. I believe there are cheaper, effective movers out there, but with this company you pay a premium for the confidence factor (they won't damage stuff). Note that I am comparing to my multiple recent moving experiences in SoCal where labor may be cheaper. 8/4/14 My response to the owner of Strongmile Movers. I took copious notes from my initial phone call with Joseph S., the owner of Strongmile, and stand by my initial review (which is unedited above). Here are additional facts. I understand the broad time window for the afternoon period. Strongmile was late because Rob called me to say he hit traffic on the 206 and instead of meeting at 2PM at the Uhaul he said to meet him at 2:30. I came at 2:30 as I was told. He came at 2:50. I wasted 20 minutes of my time waiting for him, when Strongmile could have notified me to come later. So it is not unfair for me to say Strongmile was late. There is "fuzzy math" because I was never told that the start time begins at the Uhaul. Or else I would have picked up the truck myself. Why would I pay for someone's time to pick up the truck when the Uhaul place is five minutes from me? Strongmile specifically said that truck dropoff is a courtesy (oddly, this differs from your posted comments). Strongmile never told me that they start the clock at the Uhaul (I did not check the written estimate; I trusted my phone call with Joseph). I asked twice if there is a fee associated with Strongmile picking up and dropping off the Uhaul truck and Joseph said no. I see that is technically correct, but according to his post, the customer pays for the time involved! That was not made clear to me. That is a distinction without a difference. I essentially paid for the pickup. And Rob did not confirm starting time (while he did confirm ending time)--as all other movers I have worked with in the past have. It is the first time I have heard of a travel fee as standard practice. That may be the case, but when I hired movers in Princeton before, they did not charge me a travel fee. read more
