About two years ago we moved with Strongmile and it was just about the most amazing thing to witness, and so I posted the below review on YELP. I like to stick with good things--which is why we chose Strongmile again--and which is why I'm relying on my previous review. :) This time the move was almost twice as big, and the maneuvering in our new place was even trickier than the first. That mattered not. Once again, we were fully moved in a fraction of the time that I had allotted for the move. This time one of the guys even came back the next day because he found a corner piece of my daughter's crib in his truck. That kind of goes to show you just how top notch and dedicated Strongmile is. And that armoir that I mentioned in my previous review (see below)? The way the guys got that thing up our extremely tight and narrow staircase/upper hallway and into our bedroom deserved to be set to music. Once again, amazing job and five stars. We hope to stay put for longer this time--but if that doesn't work out, we know who to call (unless the problem is that the house turns out to be haunted...then we're calling Ghostbusters too). -------------- Review from Dec 2016 I like to think that when it comes to the things that count in life, I've made some pretty great decisions. For instance, the woman I married. Or the name we picked for our son. And as of Sunday, hiring Strongmile to help us move. Joe, the owner, was extremely thorough and yet quick and to the point about walking me through the moving process and explaining the various options and price levels for the move. The quote I received was spot on and reliable. I chose to pick up and drive my own truck, so Joe booked the truck for me. On moving day, Rob, Rob, and Casper showed up right on time and went to work immediately prepping our furniture for transport while I got the truck. When I returned 20 minutes later, they were well on their way to completing their prep and started loading the truck. Before I knew it, our condo was cleared out and we were ready to move. Once we got to our new place, it took about the same amount of time for them to unload the truck and bring everything to its designated room--including a large armoir that would have taken me and my friends hours trying to figure out how to get it up the stairs and around a corner. In about half of the time that I'd allotted for just the move alone, we were completely moved and on our way to getting settled. I was amazed at how a task that is widely known for its deplorable misery can actually go smoothly and pleasantly, when done right by those in the know. I cannot stress enough via Yelp review how great our experience with Strongmile was but I will certainly try. First off, I was floored when I found them on Yelp and saw how many 5 star reviews they got (and for a moving company nonetheless) but after having them handle our move I totally get it. Joe was great on the phone, explained everything from start to finish so there were no surprises. He called several times for confirmations, to go over details and to make sure I knew exactly what was going on. He even reserved the U-Haul for us. After speaking with Joe I was confident that the process would go smoothly. The day of our move (yesterday) the team showed up at exactly 8am, they pulled up right behind our truck as we parked it. The guys (Rob the foreman, Danny, Jay and Matt) were so nice, friendly and incredibly personable. We went over some details, they got their supplies out and we showed them our apartment and they got right to work. I think they had us packed up and ready to go in an hour and a half. We got to our new place and they got right to work. Our couch posed a problem because it wouldn't fit in the door of our new place, so the guys tried a few ways and it wasn't working. So Rob said to bring the couch back down, bring everything else up and then they would try again with the couch. They quickly unloaded everything else and gave the couch another try. Jay had an idea as to how to get it into our apartment and it worked! I was so appreciative that they a. tried so hard to get our very heavy couch to fit into our new apartment and b. when it wasn't working the first time Rob was conscious of the time it was taking to solve the problem and chose to move forward with the rest of the unload. I really can't stress enough how great our moving team was. They took apart and reassembled our bed, took great care of our furniture, asked where to place things and in general were just really nice people. After they left my husband looked around and said, "hiring them was the best decision we could have made." Start to finish our move was 4 hours from a 1 bedroom in an building in Hoboken to a 2 family in East Rutherford. When my mom came at 12:30 to see our new apartment she couldn't believe the movers were done and gone already. I will only ever use Strongmile for any move and they will be recommended by me to everyone I know who is moving. Book them now and you really won't regret it. Thanks Strongmile! read more

When I saw the other reviews of this mover, I decided to call and was pleased from the beginning. Joe was nothing other than pleasant and professional over the phone, accommodating, and thorough with strong customer service skills. He had Frank, his foreman, come to my apt. for an estimate and he too, was easy-going and professional. On the day of the move about six weeks later (I like to plan as much in advance b/c the process is just overwhelming), the team arrived (Frank, Roy and Chase). These men know their business and worked like a well-oiled machine. I was focused on taking care of my part of the move and these guys just cranked from the moment they arrived. They took much care in seeing that my belongings were moved without damage and I had A LOT of breakables in boxes and NOTHING was broken! I even had to move an elliptical (which was not in the original estimate b/c I was hoping to sell before my move) but when I advised Joe that it would in fact, be moving with me, he said, "no problem" and told me they may need to add an extra man (and $200) to help with that to ensure safety of the move and no one getting hurt (it's nice to see a moving company that is concerned with the well-being and safety of its employees) but as it turned out, he did not add the extra man and fee and I could not believe the hustle/care these guys took in bringing that beast up two flights of stairs, through a small and narrow hallway and into my bedroom without scratching or tearing up the walls. It was a long day and the move took longer than expected, but I was not even charged extra for that time. I had the complete opposite experience when I was involved in the move of my elderly parents years ago from a house to an apt. Things were damaged, stolen and they kept the belongings hostage on their truck until we met their demands of additional monies they said were due but were not part of the original estimate. After that horrible experience, I was very uneasy about the prospect of finding a mover for myself. These days, I really believe it's difficult to find a fair and honest mover who will send a team that actually knows what they are doing but Strongmile Movers is a company that can be trusted. I would work with them again and recommend them to anyone who has struggled in the past with a mover in this state or has a fear of the many thieves out there who call themselves movers. My husband and I highly recommend Strongmile Movers. They made what would have been a very large and daunting move completely stress-free and easy. I found Strongmile on Yelp, and after reading all their great reviews, I decided to go with them, even though I had received (slightly cheaper) estimates and personal referrals from other companies and friends. When I called for information, Joe at Strongmile was clear, detailed, and professional about what his team would provide and what we could expect. We decided to have them drive the U-Haul, which was a great option since we filled a 26-foot truck. And, we actually had to push back our move date a few times due to closing issues, and Joe was able to accommodate us without a problem each time. The day before the move, Joe called to confirm details and go over everything again one final time, which was appreciated. When moving day came, four strong, professional movers (Rob, Justin, Casper, and another Rob) showed up promptly to move our many boxes and heavy furniture from our 1 bedroom apartment and storage unit to our new house. We had a LOT of stuff to move, and they packed up the truck and unloaded it again in record time. I will also add that it poured rain on our moving day--this did not deter them or slow them down one bit. They were very considerate about wrapping our furniture and laying down tarps to protect our floors and rugs. All we had to do was tell them where we wanted furniture and boxes to be placed, and off they went. The entire move was completed within the original estimated time frame -- and even finished sooner than expected! -- and the final cost of the experience landed us smack in the middle of the financial estimate initially provided by Joe. There were no hidden fees, no weird charges, etc. And, to top it all off -- these movers were really nice guys. Fun to talk to and be around, and that fact really helped make the day so much easier and enjoyable for us. We are so happy to provide a good review for them since they did such excellent work. We absolutely would use them again, and we happily and heartily recommend them to anyone looking for nice, professional, capable, and reasonably priced movers. First things first - AWESOME job! Couldn't have asked for better movers to be quite honest. The way I do things is I get quotes from multiple sources; I narrow that down to three "contenders" and then read reviews on them. The reviews I was getting were all over the place; most were good, but there were some concerning comments out there. So, I decided to do more research on getting movers...I filtered reviews by highest stars given, and Strongmile was right at the top. No complaints, all positive reviews...and here's mine: From the get go, you have to understand that you have to rent a truck - Joe, the owner of the company gets in touch with you after you fill out a form on their website describing the items/rooms you want moved. He leads you through what to expect, how much it'll cost, and depending on where you live and where you are moving to, helps locate a UHaul/Ryder rental location convenient to you. He'll advise you on what truck to rent, what insurance coverages are available to you, how many miles you're going to go, and how many blankets to rent. After that, you can arrange for him to get his guys meet you at the UHaul place and drive the truck for you, or you can do it yourself and his guys meet you at your residence. You will get an estimate from Joe, and no surprises at all...like, NONE! Once you get the truck taken care of, you have to pay an initial deposit and you will be scheduled. Now for the fun part; Joe called me a day before the move to confirm everything. On the day of the move, Adam, one of the Three Musketeers Joe had sent over, called me to tell me he was on his way and ETA. Adam, Rob, and John arrived in time - very good disposition - nice, outgoing, extremely professional, hardworking, and above all else, very easy to work with. They got to it right away and worked diligently to load up the truck - highly efficient and no scratches, mishandles, or breaks! Once completed, I drove the truck over to my final destination, met up with the guys, and they proceed to unload and set up everything. It was truly a pleasure working with these guys - can't say that enough. I am so happy I went the extra mile to research movers, and Strongmile delivered as advertised. My wife and I moved from our 6th floor apartment to our new 7th floor apartment (only .5 miles between the two) back in sept of 2013. I had been looking for movers for awhile and I finally came across StrongMile. Like some of the people have said, I was a little hesitant about getting the U-Haul myself as this was my first time using a moving company. Joe, however, was able to talk me through every step of the way and even suggested ways I could save money. He was very direct, to the point and honest. Told me he doesn't mind helping his customers saving time and money because it allows him to not only have happy customers but gives him time to take on additional ones. I must have asked the guy dozens of questions but he was able to answer all of them and gave me a realistic picture of what I could expect which is one of the reaons I went with them. I could not have been happier with my choice. I've never seen people work at that pace for 3 hours straight (which is the amount of time he thought it would take). Joe came with two additional guys and all of them were very professional, courteous, and just fun to be around. The only "bad" thing to happen was that one of our desks had a stress imprint on it from whatever was stacked on it during the move. This I wouldn't even count against them as I was aware of the possibility (desk was dirt cheap and made poorly) and I did not forewarn them. So really that one is my bad. The other thing was that a lamp of ours got knocked over and the bulb broke. Joe and crew apologized profusely. Luckily it was just the bulb so no harm no foul. I would pick these guys again in a heartbeat without a second thought. If you want people who will treat you with respect then go with them. Hell, I even accidently made them wait because I forgot I had to pay by cash and like an idiot I pulled out my checkbook to pay after the move. Joe and them were understanding and Joe even apologized incase he had forgot to mention it. Luckily, for me, our bank was down the street and I was able to give them it. The whole move cost exactly what they had quoted me from the beginning. Could not be happier with them. Sorry for the long wait of the review but you guys deserve every star. read more

I will ALWAYS recommend Strongmile to ANYONE who needs movers. From start to finish, this company is organized, efficient, personable and just plain has their ACT TOGETHER, which my husband and I appreciate over anything else. Joe, the owner, personally contacted me shortly after my initial inquiry was submitted, and thoroughly explained his company's policies and protocols, and how they do business. You can tell immediately that Joe and his Company have a sole goal of making your move easy and making you, the customer, happy. I had no doubt in my mind that these guys would be phenomenal and wasn't worried about a thing (other than packing) leading up to the move. My husband and I opted to have the crew drive the UHaul - an excellent choice. Thank goodness. Made our lives much much easier. And yes, you do need all the blankets they tell you to get, because that's how well they wrap and take care of your belongings. Joe called to confirm the day prior to the move and reviewed everything we had discussed, a timeline, what to expect, and told me who our crew would be. Bobby (team leader), Brian R. and Dylan were nothing short of professional, extremely hard working, motivated, and friendly. Excellence in a moving crew! They were punctual and worked non-stop from start time to end time. Everybody had a role in the move, and they worked like a well-oiled machine together. Holy cow, these guys worked HARD! My husband and I were so impressed with them. Please note, my husband and I are healthcare professionals and understand what good and bad customer service, effort, and motivation look like. Not a single one of these guys complained about a thing all day, even though they were sweating and you could tell they were working their hinds off. They worked tirelessly to finish our job in the fastest amount of time, while still taking extremely good care of our things. It was like my husband and I would have treated our own stuff - except better. What an outstanding company and outstanding crew. Truly. My husband and I are so happy and so blown away. I was moving from a second floor walk up, one bedroom apartment to a first floor apartment in another town. I had already moved a bunch of boxes on my own and didn't have too much furniture, though some pieces were large and heavy (big bar and queen sleeper sofa) and the dining table had two full size glass tops. Most moving companies with their own trucks were quoting me a minimum of 5-6 hours plus an hour travel set-up with three guys. It sounded like overkill for my little place. I was hesitant about having to rent a truck and let others drive it. However, given Strong Mile's online reviews and more reasonable assignment of two guys I decided to give them the job....and was rewarded with a professional, efficient move. The guys (Casper & Rob) met me at U-haul with their tools & supplies and away we went. They got right to work at the apartment taking out the boxes, prepping the furniture and loading everything up. The guys asked part way through if everything was okay so far...that was a simple question but showed me they cared. I was impressed with how easily they got the large pieces down a narrow staircase that had two landings and ninety-degree turns. Everything was carefully packed on the truck and strapped down. Once at the destination, they quickly moved everything in and squeezed my large couch through a small doorway without damage to either. Later that day, I got a call from Joe asking how everything went and thanking me for the business. That was the icing on the cake...that extra show of concern for the quality of his company's work and a thank you after the proverbial cash is in the bank. Highly recommend. I called Strongmile Movers on a Monday asking about a last minute move for that Saturday. Firstly, I would like to note that Joe went out of his way to squeeze us in for a Saturday afternoon move. After calling several other movers to compare rates and schedule a move on such short notice, Joe was the only one who I felt was really trying to accommodate me and my particular situation. He explained everything to me, and while I thought the pricing was a little unconventional (we paid for and picked up our own U-Haul, paid a travel fee for the movers to get to us, and were charged in 1/2 hour increments), Strongmile Movers was hands-down the best deal. Secondly, our movers - Rob, Danny, and Chase - were friendly, courteous, and extremely professional. They arrived on time. They worked quickly and efficiently. They packed up our 2 bed, 2 bath condo, which was a second floor walk-up, in about 2 hours. They disassembled furniture and handled everything with care. They made sure to confer with me about the handling of furniture and everything. Talk about stress-free moving. Finally, the unloading was even quicker than the loading. They got our furniture in through a tricky basement for storage and completed everything without a hitch. Joe had estimated that our job would take about 4-6 hours, and the move was completed in just under 4. All in all, a great moving experience. We were so pleased with Strongmile Movers that we are planning on using them again when we move out of our temporary housing - hopefully in the next few months. read more

In order to find Strongmile movers, I used Yelp. I wasn't sure how any company could actually get 5 stars from EVERY review and honestly, I was certain that they couldn't be all real. Well, on 12/19/14, I used Strongmile to move a 3 bedroom house into a 4 bedroom house and I can't say one negative thing about this moving company! From the moment I spoke with Joe on the phone, he was very passionate and upfront about his company, I knew what fees I would have to pay and there were no hidden fees. I gave my deposit for the date we wanted and the day of, Adam, Casper, Rob and Dave showed up. Casper has 9 years of moving experience and the team can LITERALLY move anything!! I have a tremendous dining room table that is one large piece that needed to be moved and I was most stressed about that - these guys were super careful with it and got it moved without a scratch! I can't begin to tell you how much stress was relieved on the day of the move because of the professionalism I experienced by this team. They were fast, they filled up the truck in a perfect way in that nothing would shift, no wasted time or wasted space on the truck! Typically I only read Yelp reviews and never actually write them, but I have to tell the world that all the positive reviews are real and I've been telling all my friends and family about this moving company. This is the first time that I hired a moving company for a move. I moved from a 1 bedroom apartment to another 1 bedroom apartment approximately a 20-minute drive away. I reached out to Strongmile because I was impressed with their reviews and when I first called I left a message asking them to call me back. Joe, the owner, called back promptly and he thoroughly described their services and how they work in one 10 minute phone call and then sent me his quote shortly after. Once I accepted their quote it was very easy to pay the deposit online and Joe took care of booking the UHaul truck for my move day. The day prior to the move Joe called me again to review all of the details of what would happen on moving day and to ask if I had any questions or concerns. Joe was extremely thorough throughout the process. On the move day, Brian and Chase met me at the UHaul location right on time. Once we got to my apartment they started working immediately. I was extremely impressed with their efficiency, teamwork and their excellent personalities. They did an excellent job wrapping my furniture and handling my item and they loaded the truck quicker than I had anticipated. Once we got to my new apartment they did a great job of working together to get everything unloaded, into the elevator and into the apartment. Brian and Chase are definitely great at what they do! I am prior active duty and have been through 5 moves in the past 6 years. This one was by far the quickest and easiest. I was only moving from Bridgewater NJ to North Bergen NJ but Joe was the most laid back and easiest guy to talk to, and assured me that no task would be too big for his team, even a third floor walk up (sorry guys!!). When move in day came, Joe sent a four man team that took three hours to pack an entire kitchen (pots and pans, plates still in the cabinets, stemware...), living room, three bedroom sets, two flat screen TV's, front load washer and dryer and a dining room. They were extremely efficient and had excellent communication...I just tried to stay out of their way. Not to mention they fit all of this into a 20ft truck - Casper has some serious tetris champion style truck packing skills. When we got to the apartment I figured the three floors would slow them down a little, so I could have time to figure out where to put everything. Nope! They were so fast up those freaking stars, like furniture ninjas. They were done unloading in two hours. I've never had a move done in a day, not to mention early in the day so I still had time to unpack. Bottom line - This is an amazing moving company, do not hesitate to give Joe a call for any job - he has by far and away the highest quality people working for him. The team was fun and talkative - showing me pictures of their kids and giving me restaurant recommendations in the area. I kind of want to move again just to hang out with them LOL! We just recently moved to a new house. My husband found these movers based on the amazing reviews on Yelp and decided to call them up, they were super professional on the phone (my husband is not easy to please) and their follow-up email is very detailed. Our team the day of the move was Casper, Bobby and Danny. They were right on time meeting my husband at the U-Haul rental location then got to work right away in the morning and was so efficient moving all of our boxes and wrapping our furniture. We had a TV stand that actually was difficult to get through the door and down the elevator because of it's size but somehow they managed to do it without any damage and that alone deserved a five star rating. But in addition to that, they encouraged us to take a look at everything once we they finished moving our stuff to the new house to make sure they didn't damage anything. They were so careful around tight corners and up stairs, you can tell these men knew what they were doing. They made sure everything was where we wanted it and if we changed our minds (which we did a few times) they happily moved our stuff again with no complaints. I really didn't think our move was going to be that fast considering the amount of stuff we had. Bottom line - we would use them again in a heartbeat, we would recommend them to anyone and everyone needing movers, they deserved every dollar of tip we gave them AND the coffee and donuts. There were a bunch of added complications with my move day, multiple location needs, my belongings were in storage, I wasn't able to drive/pick up the rental truck... I was coming down from NYC and had quite a few variables to deal with. From the first phone call to talk about an estimate, to scheduling a date/time, to seeing if I needed someone to drive the rental truck all the way to the confirmation the day before, Joe was communicative, helpful and really succeeded in making a stressful moving day so much easier. Strong Mile was down one man that day YET Joe worked hard to try and keep everything on track, with a great attitude and hard work! Joe and his team picked up the rental truck, met me at storage and even though it was later in the day and there'd been some delays, they showed up ready to work and they handled all my belongings with professional care and courtesy. I moved into a 3rd floor apt, no elevator and still Joe and his team busted out my move! Their 'move-time' was fantastic and I highly recommend them! Moving is stressful & can be very expensive but with Joe & Strongmile, there were no surprises or added expenses. I knew exactly what I was paying for, Joe did a great job at laying out what every expense went too. Strongmile even brings their rate down to .5/hr increments post the 2/hr minimum (which is completely reasonable)! I can't say enough good things about Joe and STRONGMILE. Contracted Strongmile Movers to relocate from our two bedroom apartment in Piscataway into a Three bedroom townhouse in Princeton. We had a great experience. The team of Rob,Rob,Justin and Roy were amazing, they arrived on time and got right to work. All four of them were very professional and took care of all the stuff. There were very responsible with the all the furniture and stuff as if it was their own so very careful that there were no chips or any damage whatsoever. In my new townhouse we had just painted it so when i requested the team to be careful , they took extra care while putting stuff and moving it into the house, which was awesome. The guys completed the work in 5 1/2 hours earlier than the estimated 6 -8 hours. Joe was awesome on the phone to explain everything in detail and to get us prepared upto the move day so that the move day went efficiently and stress free. He reserved the U-Haul for us and took care of all the details. They took apart and reassembled our bed, took great care of our furniture, asked where to place things and in general were just really nice people. They are a Honest, affordable, professional, efficient, and flexible group. Will definitely call them if we move again and for sure will recommend all my friends and family when they move. He even booked the uhaul for me and gave me great advice on when/how to pick it up which saved me from waiting in a long line. Rob, Chase and Thor worked incredibly hard to get the job done as quickly as possible while also taking great care of everything. They wrapped and carried everything with great caution for the items and the walls. They were incredibly graceful carrying very heavy pieces of furniture up 3 flights of stairs with a u-turn on each. I'm shocked they never clipped a wall or corner and wouldn't have been upset if they did because of the difficulty involved. Never once did I have any concern about how they were treating our possessions or home. Rob was the crew leader for both of our moves and he is the primary reason we enlisted Strongmile a second time. He is a true professional and very nice. Chase and Thor were great too. So my fiance and I have moved around A LOT. Usually I bare most of the hassle with the heavy lifting, truck rental, gathering a dude or two for help and the mad dash to get everything out in one day. Well with a bad back, a new sectional couch, less guys around to help and more time to get things to the new place I decided i had no real choice but to get movers. I immediately referred to YELP for the #1 moving company and found Strongmile. There is definitely a reason why they're #1!! These guys made our short move a pleasure. Joe runs a tight company, he was very clear and helpful with the arrangements of the truck and coordinating start time. The 3 guys he sent I was told was the Dream Team and they absolutely deserve that title. All very friendly, efficient and hard working guys. They were finished within the 2 hour minimum which was my goal, and it was only a half hour extra for the truck refueling and drop off back to U-haul. They handled all the truck driving and returned it as well. I thought their prices were very reasonable from quote to final rate. The one mishap I had is so minor that I won't even mention the details but I will mention that Joe was VERY QUICK to offer resolution. Thank you Joe and the Dream Team (I wish I remembered their names) for making this move a lot easier than my others. This is the second time we've used Strongmile and once again they've by far EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS! From the beginning of the process, working with Joe to schedule everything all the way until they completed the move, was seamless and perfectly executed. They made a day that could have been stressful and difficult become much easier. Joe is great to work with and explains everything to you in detail. He also is spot on when booking the truck with U-Haul from the size required to the number of furniture blankets needed to protect your items. The day of the move, Brian, Casper, and Dylan had completed a job earlier than they expected and called to see if we would like them to come and get an early head start. They came exactly at the time that we agreed. Once they started they really work with your things as if it is their own and at an amazingly fast pace. They completed the whole process in 4 hours. They do not drag or slam anything and are extremely careful maneuvering around your home. That even included when we asked them to change the arrangement of the furniture in a few of the rooms in the new house because we changed our minds around the setup after it was put in place. This included the option to rent and drive a UHaul truck myself and have his guys do the loading and unloading, which I thought was a cool way to save some money, since I wouldn't have to pay for the time it would take for them to pick up and drive the truck to my house. It gave me a lot of confidence in how the process would work. He was also communicative up until the date of the move. Once move day came, the day couldn't have gone better. The guys arrived early (I had picked up the truck myself), and had the truck loaded within an hour and a half. Mind you, we didn't have as much stuff moving over as some others might have, but it included moving some furniture out of a challenging basement space. After a half hour drive to the new house, it only took another hour and half to unload the truck, mostly to the second floor and basement of the new place. Perhaps best of all, I was extremely impressed with the way we were treated by the team. They were all extremely friendly and energetic, and by the end of the move, I kind of thought of them like they were my buddies! This made for a very pleasant morning.
