He was on schedule, took time to explain what's was going on and what had caused the problem. Quickly came back to fix the issue and did his hest to make sure the problem was fixed the 1st time. When the 1st item didn't work he went into diagnostic mode and made sure he fixed our furnace issue by not only fixing the furnace but the thermostat as well. One more complete check and once he was 110% sure all parts were fixed and would work properly. He explained what he did to address the issues. A technician came out on May 16th to do a tune up on my AC. Prior to this visit there was nothing wrong with the AC. 19 days after leaving I now have a leak in my ceiling due to the AC unit. I called to try and come to a resolution and the owner was less than helpful. I would never use this company again. I suggest you stay away. read more

If there were zero stars, they would have earned that rating. Stroud's has been completely incompetent from the beginning. I was assigned to them through our AHS warranty in April 2025 to replace our heat pump. What seemed okay in the beginning became a constant string of no communication or follow through. They partially installed our new heat pump (which turns out to be the incorrect size for our house square footage) and now have completely ghosted us without completing the install. It's now 4 months later with an incomplete service from them. Please do not do business with this poor excuse of a company and save yourself a lot of time, money, and headache. They took our money, but now we are left seeking a more reputable company to come and fix their incompetence and complete the install. So disappointed in this entire experience. read more

They installed a new AC unit because my old unit had gone out and they installed it on July 7th through American Home Shield and now it doesn't work properly and I left a message and nobody responded back to me and now I have a different company coming this Monday through American Home Shield to look at it. On the 9th of April 2024 Stroud's Heating & Cooling installed an Electric Furnace/Air Handler in my Basement (Unfortunate American Home Shield Customer). I have been trying to no avail to get them to tell me how to change the Air Filter. I have never received an answer. They no longer answer my phone calls or return them. Had to shut the Unit Off. Read the reviews. Probably the worst customer service, but that's what you get when you're dealing with a home warranty covered repair and this is the contracted company. This company had been out previously after the furnace went out. Part was ordered, but took awhile to get. Tech came out and installed the part (he did a good job, very polite), but another part was failing and on 2/1/25, it went out. Called and left a message. No response on the weekend. Called Monday, left a message just asking if we could get the part ordered. No call back, no response, nothing after several more attempts. Ended up ordering the part ourselves and just got it on 2/14/25. Interestingly, they recommended a new furnace and the one recommended would not pass inspection due to where it was located (bedroom, where a sealed unit is required). Strouds got assigned to be our service contractor through American Home Shield home warranty. They are a small, local and family owned business. This being said, remember that they have only one or two admins to answer phones, respond to emails, do the office administration work. Give them understanding and time. Also, because of their size of business, they dont have 100 techs like some others. I can tell you this, they know the business, they know the HVAC craft and the techs are top notch. Respectful, knowledgeable and understanding. They had to visit our home 5 times because of items or scenarios that were out of their control. i.e. cracked drain pan on could unit etc. Every visit was about a week apart or so, because other customers have to be serviced too. But they were quick to get us scheduled ASAP, they returned calls in 24-48 hours. I would highly recommend them for anyone needing HVAC work done. The reviews are true... I do not understand how this place is still in business. They don't answer the phone, takes weeks to get them to return if they need parts which they don't order, so good luck getting ahold of them to follow-up! After waiting 3 weeks for them to order fuses as they said, the tech said he grabbed them from the store on the way to my second appointment. It also took several calls to American home shield just to get them to return. Replaced fuses but clearly didn't do a full diagnosis because less than a week after their "repair," our A/C is out again and we paid for another service fee with a different company. The new company discovered the fuses blew again and the capacitor went bad, to which the tech said "this is very basic, had he checked he would've seen this was failing due to the bulge." This company had supplies, both fuses and a capacitor, and replaced them immediately/on site. Then it was discovered we also need a new motor. The Stroud tech blamed the blown fuses on dirty coils and called it a day, leaving us to suffer through a 90° house for multiple weeks. Avoid this "business" at all costs! We've been waiting since Jan. 10th, 2024 to get our furnace repaired. It's now May 15th, 2024 and they HAVE NOT bothered to advise us status and DO NOT return calls. They installed my new heat pump last October and all was fine at first. It completely stopped working in January. They sent Clayton to come out and check it. A wire from the part that talks to the thermostat had broken so it was only blowing cold air. He fixed that, but a part was also broken on the heat pump outside. He said they would order it and be back out to replace it. I have tried for 3 weeks to get ahold of them but no one calls back or answers emails. We've been running on EM heat since he was here. Their website doesn't work anymore. Have to pay someone out of the area to come look at it now per Goodman warranty. read more

my heat stopped working on October 4, 2024 American home shield sent STROUD'S HEATING & COOLING LLC out to assess the problem. they were quick to come out for the first appointment saying it was the fuse not even 20 minutes after Dustin left the fuse blew. Dustin came back the next day and said it was the transformer after waiting three weeks He came back out only to find out It wasn't the transformer He said that we needed a whole new air handler. i felt as I was being taken advantage Of. So I hired another company to come out and look at my problem. Josh from PALATIAL HEATING & A/C LLC went above and beyond to get my heat up and running again. Josh came out on a Sunday and fixes my heat That cost me less than $300. read more

Stroud's was assigned my heater repair by American Home Shield. Several return trips and it was decided my heater needed replacement. Heater was ordered thru American Home Shield and installed. During install the breaker flipped and half my house went dark. The installer, Dustin, said he had nothing to do with the electrical and it had to be sent back to American Home Shield to assign an electrician. In the meantime I called Hart's to come and check why half my house was in the dark and it was an issue at the pole and not with the heater install. TPU came and fixed it right away and my HVAC guy has never come back out to finish the job or make sure the job was done correctly. The electrician that was sent said it needed a larger breaker installed and turned that back into the home warranty office. The home warranty office told me that Stroud's is responsible for finishing this job. I have called Stroud's several times and left messages and nobody gets back to me. I was told by the electrician for Hart's that HVAC is not supposed to be installed without an electrician available. I worry every day that my house will go up in flames because the heater is running on a circuit breaker that isn't at the right amps. It is a 50 and should be a 60. Today it started tripping the circuit breaker. When I reset the breaker in runs for about 10 minutes and trips again. COME ON STROUD"S FIX THIS read more

WOW! Dustin came to my house, troubleshot the problem and repaired my AC within 30 mins. And his service fee was lower than I expected!!!! He was very professional, informative, down to earth and answered all my questions without any BS!!!! To top it off he was HONEST!!! The company that came out before Strouds troubleshot my AC problem (DEAR Services) and said I needed a new compressor ($10,000)!! Wow!! Just a blatant LIE!! Then they tried to up sell me on a package deal for a new air conditioner and furnace for the amazingly low price of $19,000!!!! Stroud's Heating and Cooling were contracted by American Home Shield to replace my heat pump, air handler, and replace and relocate a section of ductwork. When they got to my house they said they forgot the ductwork and would have to come back another day to fix that. Before they left they said they could not fix the ductwork. Lie number one. I asked for an invoice for the equipment and work they did. They said they would have one sent to me. Lie number two. I never got an invoice. I called and texted them requesting an invoice and got no response. I called American Home Shield four times to see if they could get me an invoice. They called and emailed them all four times and no response. The fifth time they actually got a live person. She said she would email me the invoice right away. Lie number three. They emailed me a receipt for my payment. I responded to the email and told them that was not what I requested and explained what I wanted. No response. They installed mismatched equipment. A Carrier air handler and a Bryant heat pump. They removed a control module for my generator from the old air handler and did not install it on the new one. They did not tell me they just left it on the hot water tank. This could have damaged my generator if it would have come on. Their refusal to give me an invoice makes me suspicious. Did I get the equipment they billed American Home Shield for or just what they had in their shop they wanted to get rid of? Not professional, not honest, not trustworthy. read more
