First of all they have to take a ferry to our island which is inconvenient for most businesses from off the island we understand that. The issue stems from their charges they use to come to the island. They charge a flat rate of $250.00 to come here for every customer they have that day they will only come over when they 2 or more appointments. The standard going rate from every other contractor is the cost of the ticket which is $33.00 or up to $75.00 per customer. We had them come and service our 5 year old mini-split it wasn't cooling back in mid September of 2025. We are snow birds and left the island the week after they were here to go to AZ for the winter. We came back on Memorial Day 2026 when about 3 weeks later we tried to use the AC but it still wasn't working. We called Sunset Air back to have fix what they hadn't fixed before. Their charge for the repair in September was $1,219.00. When we called them back they said it would be another $250.00 for the ferry ride plus a $250.00 service charge just to look at it! The repairman was average at best the 1st time he didn't even put it back together with all the screws I had to do it myself. We will be calling the Attorney General to log a complaint about their shady practices. Sadly, Bill Cunningham

Electrician damaged my expensive furniture and mangled the outside of the siding. He finally repaired it but it looks horrible. Moreover, the HVAC Minsplit system they installed contstantly makes loud noise. The original guy who came to set up the installation assured me they would install the unit behind the guest bedroom so that noise would be limited to my bedroom, but the installers insisted upon placing it behind my bedroom so I listen to what sounds like a jet warming up (constantly). Moreover, the minsplit unit in my bedroom is loud with constant LOUD clicking, popping, and humming. And aesthetically, the crew insisted upon installing the unit on the side of my home rather than underneath as their initial consultant assured me it would be, so the lines run directly along and under my bedroom window. While the crew was nice and friendly, they did install and run. At the very end just before leaving the one (less friendly of the two) tech handed me the remote and a manual and he demonstrated a few basic buttons to push, but this remote is a nightmare. Just google "How to operate Hisense remote" and you'll get countless examples but none that match your remote. And when you send a note to Alpine asking for a link you get no response. Anyway, don't use Alpine and above all don't let them or anyone else talk you into installing a Hisense HVAC Minisplit. Sorry, but if your installation is anything like mine--you'll never get a decent night's sleep again. --Sleepless in Tumwater

It was bumped up against a copper wire and literally melting. He quickly repaired that, explaining as he went along. Discovered some other glitches and needed to come back a second time, in 2 days with an ordered part that he replaced. Now the heater is working correctly and that was well worth the money. I liked the office staff and their excellent communication skills. Highly recommend their service.

I called a number of places and two agreed to come Saturday morning to diagnose the problem. One was Pacific Air for $250. The other was $285. I was disappointed that I would have to wait until Saturday as temps at night at that time were in the 30s. Pacific Air then called me back and said they would send someone Friday night. Eric showed up around 7:30 pm, diagnosed the problem and was able to restore heat in the meantime, although not ideally as the fan would need to run 100% of the time but he informed me of that. It took a few days to get the part in but Eric returned today and got everything 100% back. I really appreciated that they heard me about being in a freezing house and getting someone out late on a Friday night. It cost a fortune but I suspect anyone else would also charge exorbitant prices based on the other company being $35 more expensive just for the diagnosis. I hope I never need them again but if I need someone, I would call them.
